Food is always good here. Seems pretty healthy. I usually get the chicken kabob fattoush salad combo and it's the perfect amount of food. The corn on the cob is really good to.

Just ate at the sister store on Frankfort Ave in Clifton, they are the exclusive provider of the Shiraz Burger, can I just say go try it today! I am a big guy and have tried just about every burger in town, this one beats them all. My vote for Louisville's best burger

I have never been to the restaurant, But I wanted to write a review for anyone considering using Shiraz for any catering event. I was recently at a wedding in which shiraz was catering. In my opinion they were pretty unprofessional. They arrived 45 mins late, and were quite rude when they arrived demanding that tables be cleared off for them to use. The tables were cleared no questions so they could set up, but apparently there was a bit of confusion about shiraz providing plates for guests, but instead of approaching one of the 2 wedding coordinators that were on site, the elderly man in charge went directly to the Groom right before they were going to make their grand entrance, which of course made the bride anxious and nervous about everything, instead of enjoying her big party. All was cleared up and everything went well after that. But I also thought it was a bit odd to see the caterers go through the food line before all the guest had gone through too. In my opinion I would never use Shiraz for any type of catering event. It was just an uneasy and overall bad taste in my mouth after this experience.

Unfortunately I have to update my review and drop a star for the terrible experience I had at Shiraz today. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later, I arrived, and most of my food was not ready despite the restaurant being empty. After waiting for my food, I was handed a falafel wrap shoddily packaged in foil. It was falling apart, and the wrap itself wasn't totally contained in the foil. The girl working asked, "is that it?" and I had to remind her that I ordered fries as well. When I got home, one of the tomatoes on my vegetable kabob was spoiled, my rice was soaked in oil, and most offensively, my fries were a giant mound of soggy, squished grease. This is not the experience I typically receive at Shiraz, so I will return, but if this had been my first time there I definitely would not.

For flavorful, fresh Mediterranean cuisine, Shiraz is one place that cannot be beat. I'm a fan of getting the Fatoosh Salad to go. Bursting with flavors of fresh parsley, mint, and juicy cucumbers and tomatoes, I can count on the salad and the side of soft naan it comes with to fill me up. When I dine in, I love the hummus. Pureed to a smooth, buttery consistency, it has a robust flavor without being too heavy on any of the spices. Spread on a triangle of the fresh-baked naan, it's the perfect way to start a meal. All of the Kebobs are delicious, with a fresh-from-the-grill flavor that is great with Shiraz's homemade Tzatziki sauce and a side of roasted vegetables. End your meal with a triangle of airy, crispy baklava pastry wrapped around sweet and cinnamon walnuts to fill that final corner in your belly you were reserving for dessert.

Shiraz is a staple for me. The food is consistently terrific. I get the chicken kabob which comes with rice. I add hummus and the eggplant as sides. Portion sizes are good, enough for a large meal or two smaller meals. I wish the prices were a little better, as they seem high for a fast-casual restaurant.

Fresh ingredients. Savory flavors. Inexpensive. What more do you want? The ethnic rice was amazing, and served with dill. Just wish the lamb kabab meal had more meat (only 2 small pieces)

OK...found out they are not owned by the same people and you can tell in the food. The only other one I have eaten at is the one on Hurstburn and let me say, they're food and portion size was MUCH better here than there. It's the same menu but prepared differently and once again with bigger portions. If you want to try a Shiraz...I would make the extra drive to this location!!!

Shrimp was absolutely excellent. The herb'd and dill'd rice was delicious. The lamb was well cooked and flavourful, if a little bony and short on meat. I wish they'd scale back on the vinegar levels in the sides, the salads, and other items they sauce. Could hardly taste the ingredients of the salad or lentil side for the vinegar dripping from them.

Food was good service was great! Had the Mahi and was very pleased. We also ordered Hummus. I was a little disappointed only because I saw several reviews that said it came with several different breads. Ours had wheat wraps and that was it. Did they run out of everything else?? Oh well.. It was still good. The only down side to this place at all is that there really isn't that much of a variety. We have a Greek grill in Chattanooga that's menu blows this place away. I do love a good kabob though!!

Shiraz is definitely a place you should stop by when driving on down the road. It's hidden amongst all the other ethnic foodie places in the strip mall, but I think you will be satisfied if you choose to walk inside Shiraz. This was my first time here and I was definitely thankful to fellow Yelpers who gave this place such good reviews! It was really bright and colorful in the restaurant, just as a Mediterranean place should be (I mean it would look sort of strange if a Mediterranean place was dark and sad). I think this place could cheer anyone up, even in the throttle of winter. One of the very best aspects of this place was the fact that there were pillows at each of the booths and tables. Isn't it always nice to be comfortable while you're eating? Call me strange, but I just loved the pillows there...seriously, it's not everyday that you get to eat out while being surrounded by puffy pillows. The point I'm ultimately getting to is that the atmosphere was really cool. The food was also really delicious...my only complaint was that they didn't have a large variety of items to choose from on the menu. Despite this, the items that were listed all looked tasty. My boyfriend and I decided to order the hummus which came in a large portion; the hummus had very good flavor and texture unlike some hummus that can be runny and somewhat plain. My boyfriend ordered the chicken cabob and I ordered the steak cabob (because cabobs were the main item to choose from) both of which came with rice and a side of your choice. The meat was very tender and everything tasted very good. I can't name anything bad about the food. Also, something that I thought was pretty neat was the fact that each of the items to be ordered had a low calorie count so if you're looking to have a filling dinner without all of the added calories this is a great choice for you. Oh!! And the baklava is really good! You can definitely taste the honey and it has a bit of a lemon zing to it! So yummy! So, just eat healthy for the main dish and then splurge a little on the baklava.

It appear that everyone loves this place. I have been to Shiraz 5 or so times. Sweet potato fries are great but everything else that I have tasted is just ok and nothing to right home about. I have mainly tried the sandwiches. Hummus is bland no olives.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I was hungry and I needed to kill like 30 min around holiday manor. I decided to give this place a try as I've seen a lot of people here for lunch before. I ordered the chicken kabob/plate. It comes with 1 side, rice, and a drink. It comes out to about $10. Not cheap. However, it is delicious. The chicken is very tender and flavorful and the yogurt sauce that you have to pay for is very refreshing. The salad was also pretty good. No wonder tons of people come here for lunch! The portion is not small, but not too big either. It's just right, I wasn't super hungry so I got to take some of the chicken and rice home, but I think I could finish it if I was really hungry. I definitely recommend this place if you like Mediterranean food. Oh and the service was pretty good.

Horrible horrible experience. 1/2 of the food that we ordered did not come out. Do not eat here.

I have come to crave the ground beef shawarma wrap with extra roasted habenero and tzatazki sauce. Delicious, flavorful and filling.

Good food at reasonable prices. The lamb is fantastic as is the shrimp. If you like hummus this is the place for you. Plenty of seats or call ahead for take out.

I can't believe how many times I have passed this place saying "We should check it out" and yet it took me years to finally go. All I can say is I'm glad we decided to go as this instantaneously become one of our favorite restaurants. We've actually gone back twice already and can't wait to go again. So far we've tried the chicken kabobs, white rice (persian style), hummus, falafel chips (not the side wrapped in a spinach wrap), shiraz rolls and yes, even the sweet potato fries :D. Everything is great, I mean everything. The chicken is tender, fresh and very flavorful, the white basmati rice is great, the hummus is amazing and the falafel chips are the best I've ever had. The prices are pretty good and the portion size is just right if not a little on the big side. One great thing about the food is that it isn't ultra greasy and when you are done eating you will be full but you won't feel sick or like you need to go work out for a week straight. The service was also great as they are VERY friendly and seem to go out of the way to make the customers happy. I am getting hungry just writing this review.

Tasty Mediterranean. Hummus (sp) was flavorful, and came with a nice variety of breads. Steak kabob was pretty good - meat was a bit overcooked. My colleagues had the chicken, and felt it was very good. Herbal rice was also good. Taziki sauce was on the runny side. Went for lunch.

I stumbled on to this place while looking for a different restaurant. What a serendipitous find. The food is amazing and the owner is always close by to offer information on the food and even an occasional deal on the food. The food is deserving of 6 stars, while the decorating is a flat 3 stars and the pricing 5 stars. So if you want an awesome meal at a great price in an ok ambiance then head over to Shiraz's. You will not be disappointed.

Good place to get some basic Persian food. The menu has a lot of reasonably healthy options as well. The kubideh is good. The only problem is when you order take out...half the time things are missing from the order. It's not just an isolated problem, and has happened on multiple occasions. I would bump up the review to 4 stars when you actually dine in.

I LOVE this place. Best mediterranean food eve. I dont even live in Louisville anymore and always frequent this place when I am in town. The food is all so flavorful and I love how they post the calories now! My favorite thing is the mahi mahi kabob on a salad. The fish is so flavorful and tender, and I do not even usually like mahi mahi. All of the sides are great, and I especially love the eggplant appetizer. The shrimp, salmon, and steak kabobs are all great too. I cant think of one thing I have not liked here. I just wish they would open up in chicago!

I've been to Shiraz a handful of times and the quality fluctuates. I noticed that when the owner isn't around and it's a bunch of teens running the place it's not as good. This last time I went, I got a chicken shwarma and it just wasn't the same. The chicken wasn't as moist, there wasn't as much tzatziki sauce - it just wasn't as tasty. Also, the prices are just ridiculous for their portions. Their plates can't fill anyone up and their sides are tiny. I can take two gulps from that plastic cup and be done with it. The quality of their food is not bad for Louisville (I'm from CA and nothing really can beat food from CA) but the price and the fluctuating quality (which is disappointing) causes me to hesitate going back again. I don't think I will be going back; I really did have high hopes for this place.

So good! Quick, delicious Mediterranean food. Try the baklava, best I've ever had. If you want an extra yummy treat thats not on the menu, ask for the crispy rice chips. Great for dipping in hummus and packed with herb flavor.

Yum! Love this restaurant. I would highly recommend the chicken or salmon kabob with herbed rice. Make sure you get the tzaziki sauce. You can't go wrong with either entree. Tried a special chipotle flatbread pizza the was a daily special-- sensational. I hope they offer it again. Ramine and Cheryl (owners) are always there checking on customers. Great restaurant!

Excellent option for a quick lunch close to the highway that doesn't make you feel weighed down. Light, flavorful fare. Only thing keeping them from a 5 star was the very small side dish servings. Well prepared though and very friendly.

Eating at shiraz is always a great experience. I enjoyed the chicken curry stew my last visit but tried the steak shish kabob today. You cannot find better quality steak at the best steakhouses. The price is very affordable. Finally, the best thing is the friendliness of the owners and staff. They have a passion for healthy great flavored food and are always there to talk about it and ask what I like.
