Food was good but service from Kyle E was awful. We were practically hounded at 2-3 minute intervals, from the time we were seated, to place our orders. I saw 2 other Servers pour water at surrounding tables, but not Kyle. When I specifically asked for water, I was served, but after I drank the glass there were 3 times when Kyle specifically came to the table, looked at my empty glass and did not ask if I wanted more. At a certain point in time, a diner figures out what kind of Server he has, so I gave up. Other tables were allowed to serve themselved the House wine under the "Honor" system, but Kyle didn't extend that courtesy to us. The end of the line was when Kyle shorted me one of my $5 Grazie coupons when I tab'd the bill. I couldn't decide if he counted wrong or if he was throwing more shade. The only other problem we had was w/ the Expeditor/Runner system they have. Neither the Expeditor at the Kitchen counter, nor the Runners check w/ the Server to pace delivery of appetizers, salads & entrees correctly. So we got out salad about 45 seconds after the appetizer was served and then the entree came on top of the salad. Otherwise, believe it or not, I like Macaroni Grille but after last night's experience, I'm awfully tempted to start going to Carraba's.

We went tonight, a Sat evening, to Macaroni Grill in Louisville. After we got seated, no one came to wait on us! We were forgotten and abandoned by any waiter. After sitting for 10 min or so, without water or their yummy bread, hubby went to talk to the Manager, Keith Larue. Well, Keith made it right: he personally became our waiter, offered us free appetizers & free desserts, gave us great service with a fantastic attitude and great smile. I sure hope Macaroni Grill recognizes the gem they have in this gentleman. What could have turned out to be an unpleasant dinner experience became a five star dinning event, thanks to Keith's effort, great attitude and problem solving abilities. Food is always great at Macaroni Grill, but in this case, the service made all the difference. thank you for a great dinner!

Food is always pretty good. I was very disappointed this visit though, I came especially for the insalta bleu& they no longer have it. I had the simple Salmon instead, salmon had great flavor & was cooked nicely

Love eating here, Fresh italian bread, great for birthdays because they will sing to you in Italian opera style, great for family or dates.

Food was great highly recommend the lobster ravioli, bread is excellent and the house wine complements the food very well.

I wish someone would give me a gift card to this restaurant instead of the other crappy ones. I love the pasta, the fresh bread brought to the table is always warm and crusty/chewy, so good. Great place to take kids, they put white paper on the tables as table clothes and crayons so the kids can color all over the table. Good service, nice atmosphere with the fire place lit, very nice.

Very good as I have never had a bad meal at a macaroni grill...

I'm repeatedly disappointed with this restaurant. Wait staff was fine. Food took an hour and a half for a large party. The menu has changed again. Just after I found something i like. I will not return willingly.

Food is great, prices are a tad high though. They have improved some from the last Mac Grill I visited, however the service is the killer. Four entrees took upwards of 30-45mins to come and they were able to turn several tables over while we waited. The Chicken Parmesan may be the best item on the menu

This is the worst service I have ever encoubtered in my life... I work in the service industry myself, and our waiter got our intial drink orders and then did not return to the table for an hour... our server was ALEX he absolutley could not have been any worse, I understand the guy was a little busy but his trainee did more than him. I personally had to go to the server station and refill our drinks, I then had to clear our table and confront the manger... after this the waiter still did not return for 30 minutes... we were there for a total of 3 hours and my food was still wrong so my party refused to pay... Fuck Macaroni Grill they should be put out of buisness and should have been a long time ago... this is the 3rd experience with this place were the service was beyond horrible... the food is also very mediocre and overpriced!!!

Good Italian food and with recent changes for some healthier options I can eat here without so much guilt. As far as chain Italian food goes, it is top 3. Go for lunch to try it out and then go back for dinner.

Atmosphere is great and staff was moderately helpful but the food was not worth half the price I paid. I ordered the lasagna and it was mostly a puddle of grease and cheese. Maybe I had bad luck but if that is what to expect then I won't be returning.

I like the bread with the oil for dipping. The dinner selection are great and portions are decent for the price.

Food was fair, service was OK after a while. Menu is confusing, half price wine s a joke. Server told us they had a house Chardonnay but it was a poor blended white wine. The ads for Macaroni Grill alludes to all wines half price, not a select few and their lousy house wine. Went on a spur of the moment - a bad choice!

Very nice Italian restaurant for a chain and we have often taken friends here on our nights out. We usually partake of the "Create your own" option just to see what we can come up with and that is usually successful and we have also tried a few of their other dishes -- the Alfredo is very good. Our main complaint is that it can get quite loud in there. Longer review on my blog at ourserendip.com/WPBlog/?…

This place ranks as the best franchise Italian eateries for me. They have a spacious dining area and an open kitchen. This is very important in my opinion, especially for cynical bastards like me (you don't have to worry about food dropping on the ground, or someone spitting in your soup). I always get the "Create your own" menu. The food is fresh tasting, and flavorful. The portions are large, and service has always been very good. For the price (8.99 base for the create your own) its unbeatable. Did I mention fresh baked bread, and as much as you want?

Mediocre chain restaurant food. Ok i guess if you want large portions plenty of salad and bread sticks and cheap wine.

Sunday at 530 had dinner. Will was my server and after seeing all the dust and cobwebs on lights was disappointed. Until Wills our server suggestions and knowledge of menu. My kids had the chicken parmesan, my wife and son had chicken Alfredo, and I had the classic Italian bake. Really wanted some fresh sole dish but he admitted it was frozen. I was in love with the bread wanted some cheese on my extra virgin oil, but the food came out in 10 minutes alarming when we are cooking fresh but the every dish was delicious. And are server Will did a amazing job. Management's has well trained staff but needs a little touch up cleaning.

For a chain Italian restaurant, it is to be what's expected. Overall the food was good but I thought a little overpriced, although the classic Italian bake was enough for me to take over half home for a second meal! Our server was good once we were finally greeted after about 10 minutes. Our meals took longer than expected to come out especially since we were there fairly early for dinner. Half price bottles of wine on Thursdays is a nice touch, but I didn't realize this at the time and opted to choose for the "honor system" wine where they bring a whole bottle to the table and you tally how much you had. Neat system, but I should have known better with a cheap wine, not impressed at all. Overall, a decent experience, but there are probably half a dozen Italian restaurants I would pick before coming back.

Nice atmosphere. Sauces were less thick and did not stick to pasta well. Mushroom ravioli was lacking in robust flavor. Bib and blue and ceaser salads were outstanding.

Food was sub par. Service was awful. Never eat there again. There were nats or fruit flies everywhere. Told the server and they didn't seem to care. This place has really went down hill.

We had been here many times before and food was good, but this time the service was bad and the food was not very good. The topper was my wife's sangria had a fly frozen onto an ice cube that she did not find until she was almost done with the drink. The server and the manager came over and really did not act like it was a big deal just explaining that they have fruit fly issues in the summer around the wine. Really.... they took off the drink but that was it....we found a bug in our drink! Wow we won't go back.

I love eating here. Appetizers are so delish! Tonight I had the parm crusted chicken salad. Really pleasing to the eye and to the taste buds! Highly recommended, fabulous Balsamic glaze. Sam did a great job seeing to our needs. Way to go Sam!

Really great italian food. Love the peasant bread. Everything on the menu is very delicious. I know they are trying to be an upscale place, but I would beg for a larger glass for water. Atmosphere is really nice. I give this place five stars not because it is as good as other places which cost more but because it far suprasses other places at the same price.

A decent chain Italian place. The bread is good, though I wish the dipping oil included something more than just...oil. The tapas (2 or $9) are decent, if a little meh. We had the mac and cheese bits which were a little bland, and the meatballs which looked like there would be more in the dish they were served in, but it was mostly heaps of sauce. I got the Parmesan crusted sole which is my favorite. I've had it other times and it has been better, but it wasn't bad. I wish there had been more of the lemon butter on it...it was almost non-existent on this particular entree, and it's one of the most delicious things ever, from what I remember. Overall a pleasant meal, but this time, it didn't live up to my previous experiences. I'll probably be back at some point though.

Food was good, server was good.. but my wife was gawked at like a damn New York construction site by a pair of cooks on the way out by the front entrance. One of the cooks literally yelled Woooooo!!!!! Staring at her and licked his lips as. It took all I had not to throw my leftovers at him. Put your cooks on a leash or put walls around the open kitchen if these idiots don't know how to act professional.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
