Disappointing. My son and I stopped here for a quick bite. The place is reminiscent of a Subway sandwich shop - you pick the pita you want, then tell them what toppings you want added. How could you go wrong? We each had the chicken pita (they were out of the standard "gyro" meat), which they heated up on a griddle for us. It looked promising. However, every bite of that chicken had an inedible chunk of fat/gristle/tendon that had to be spit out. In the end, we ate our chips but dumped well over half of our sandwiches in the trash. Yuck. The prices were a little high for what we got: 2 chicken pitas, two bags of chips and two drinks were $19.89, which included tax. If the food had been delicious, I wouldn't have thought twice about the cost. What really bothered me was when I used my debit card to pay, there was a line for me to add a tip before totaling AND - get this - suggested tipping levels based on my bill. Really???? C'mon!!!! It's a self-service sandwich shop, for crying out loud. I always drop a dollar (sometimes 2 or 3) in the tip jar at a sandwich shop, but a 20% tip???? Don't get me wrong - the "service" was fine, in that they were nice when they took my order and nice while I told them the toppings and sauces to add. They were also nice when they hollered that our food was ready. But I had to pour my own drink, pick up my tray, take it to my table and then bus said table when I was done. What on earth warrants a 20% tip? I'm giving this 2 stars because there were other dishes that might have been better. There are plenty of good alternatives in town, so my son and I made a pact that we wouldn't return.

My husband is a big fan of the Pita Pit, but after a couple of visits I wish I thought it was as good. Service has been fast because both visits, we were the only people inside the restaurant but if a crowd came it might be slow with only 1 server there to make sandwiches. Meat is grilled and pitas are made fresh which is nice. Lots of sandwich options. With a pita, chips and soda, you're going to spend at least $10/meal.

This place is disgusting. Your "food" goes from canned to frozen before it is served to you. Stay away from this abomination at all costs!!

It's just ok. I've definitely had better. The prices are high. I paid $10 for lunch, a pita and a drink. It does not taste authentic at all.

As for "FAST FOOD" this place is great. The wife and myself have only had the Felafel sandwich from here. Not what we would normally eat, but if we are in a pinch for lunch...it's good! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful!

Wasn't overly impressed with my falafel but my biz associate said the prime rib with chipotle sauce was outstanding. I'll hit this place up again if I'm in the area, but I remember the Champaign Pit being amazingly fresh and tasty. I miss you Green Stree!

A great place for good, nutritious food that won't leave you feeling guilty (as long as you stay away from the combos. The Dagwood is my favorite, while Her Ladyship is enamored of the Chicken Souvlaki. Not impressed with the Gyro; not enough meat and it tastes kinda bland, but I don't expect an excellent Gyro outside of a Gyro shop.

I go here every so often from work during my lunch break to pick up one of the more healthier options in the area. Gyro with double meat is my go to pita, nothing tastes processed compared to Subway or Jimmy Johns, and the people that work their are very courteous. Love to go there on Fridays when they have every pita at $4.99 and on mondays for a free baked cookie. Very underrated compared to similar options like Subway and Jimmy Johns.

Just ate at Pita Pit and it was very tasty. The meat was well-seasoned and the sauces we used complimented the pitas well. The guy at the grill was very helpful with this! Both of the staff members were very helpful and patient as we put out order together.

In college in Lexington I walked over to Pita Pit and got a Chicken Souvlaki pita weekly. Glad to see a Louisville location since the Lex one closed. Although this is not it my current neck-of-the-woods by any means, I still crave it every time I'm over on Hurstbourne. The service was super quick and friendly, and quality just as I remembered. They have a rewards card now too!
