First things first: Although this business lists a W. Market location, it is not visible from the Market Street side. The Market Street address is in fact the north face of the Aegon building, with which this Panera shares a tiny corner (although more precisely it is within the footprint of the Aegon parking structure and not under the Aegon itself.) The photos you see uploaded here show that the storefront is in the corner of the Aegon Building's courtyard at the corner of 4th and Jefferson. Look for it at the Market Street address, and you'll never find it. From personal experience, I can attest that this Panera is an oasis for the downtown lunch crowd. The staff is generally very positive and friendly -- at it's best, it's the sort of store where staff knows regulars by their first name. Seriously. (Now, I could tell a couple of stories about the other sort of staff member, the Millennial crank who forgets that real life isn't the internet. But the two people who really bugged me there are gone now, so... Workplace Darwinism at its finest.) (Aside from preferring the downtown Louisville store based on my workday contact with it, I will say that I prefer it to the Veteran's Parkway location in Clark County, Indiana any day of the week, any time, too. That store is just over the Ohio River and about 5 miles away from downtown Louisville. The problem with the Southern Indiana store arises from it being so over-patronized you'd believe it was the only restaurant for miles. This is pretty much the case there 12 hours a day. The downside of this, other than having to struggle for choice seating, is that I have been in the Southern Indiana Panera on Sunday early afternoon and found them nearly out of pastries, with 4 items left. !!! Now something like this CAN happen at the downtown Louisville location, after the store is hit by a huge wave of conventioneers or by a run of business catering orders. But it happens far less often there than it does at the Southern Indiana location.) One thing you should note: The Aegon Panera -- let's call it -- has steeply curtailed hours on the weekend, so check ahead if you're in town over a weekend and don't want to waste a late day walk over to Panera to find it closed. (The one star off is because I think they need to react just a little faster when the queue of customers begins to curl out the door or down the side dining area. The customers are aware of this, and I'm sure the staff is too. It is frustrating to stand in line for 5-10 minutes, and then watch another register or two open right after it is too late to do you any good.)

A friend and I attempted to visit this Panera today in order to get some work done on our laptops while we were eating lunch. I ordered a ordered a turkey sandwich with no red onions and mayonaise and received a sanwhich with red onions and no mayonaise. Additionally, the only tables with outlets available were down a hallway away from the main part of the restaurant. This did not seem like a problem until we attempted to connect to Panera's wi-fi and found that the signal was not strong enough reach either of our computers in this part of the restaurant. We packed up our belongings and left having gotten no work done.

I love Panera, I've been to this location a few times, and this would normally be a 4-star review, but the latest time I noticed the soda station was COVERED in fruit flies. It was obviously dirty and sticky, attracting the fruit flies, and the placement of the trash cans and the food pickup counter nearby didn't help. I mentioned it to the person making food, and she said that she's tried cleaning it but they just don't go away, then she sent someone to try cleaning it again. It obviously hadn't been cleaned for awhile. The food was good but this grossed me out for the rest of my meal, and I will wait a long time before going back to this location. (I have sent a complaint to Panera as well, hopefully that will speed the situation)

Went into this location today for lunch. I ordered the French onion soup and half a turkey sandwich with an apple and green tea. The French onion soup was Luke warm the croutons were simply stale rather than crispy. The turkey that was on the sandwich of which I received two slices of was no better than prepackaged Oscar Meyer deli meat you would find your grocery store. The wild greens on sandwich were also quite wilted. As i was waiting for my sandwich and drink, I noticed that the' what appeared to be manager, was on the phone. She was also enjoying her lunch. I find this to be unsanitary for someone to be eating in food preparation areas. I was disappointed in this Panera bread location which was my second time there...( the first time was not that great either ) and I do not plan on going back.

Been Back a few times now. The chicken tortilla soup is quite palatable. But I didn't like the panini AT ALL! Crusty to the point of being hard to bite. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I was disappointed enough not to try again. Soup and Salad will do you ok.

I have been to this Panera a few times now as I just moved here from Cincinnati. I must admit that I am impressed with their fast service and efficiency. They give you a buzzer which is really nice so you don't have to hang out waiting for your name to be called. Though it can get pretty busy there during lunchtime, they manage the crowd very well. There is a nice patio with fountains right outside and overall it's been my favorite Panera location. All of the employees are friendly.

It's a Panera. A fast casual chain serving soups, salads, sandwiches, breads, pastries, etc. However, I really like Panera, for what it is. My favorite part about Panera is that they offer a large amount of healthy options. And the calories are posted right on the menu board, so you know what you're getting. The food tastes good and is of high quality. Though it's nothing to write home about, I have enjoyed every dish I've tried. The only negative thing I can say about Panera is that their prices seem a bit high, while their portions are a bit small. This particular Panera location is great. It's conveniently located to lots of downtown offices, hotels, the convention center, etc. It gets packed at lunchtime, but they are able to handle the crowd well. Even when the line has been out the door, I've had food in hand in about ten minutes. The outdoor seating at this Panera is lovely. It's situated in a courtyard with beautiful fountains. During the warm months, it's nice to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.

This location is pretty much the same as every other Panera Bread, but that's fine with me. It gets pretty busy during lunchtime, especially if there's a conference in town, but if you can get there early and snag a seat then the lunch experience is pretty good. Of note with this location are a few good seating locations; I especially love sitting outside when the weather is nice or in the sun near the front windows in the winter.

Loved the outdoor dining with fountains. Good strawberry chicken salad with the usual savory side of bread. A little pricey so I always get a cup of water and squeeze several lemons in it for a my drink. Be sure and visit the taste of Kentucky shop across the way - very cute.

I only come here for a late afternoon salad to hold me over when I work late and it's a plus to get a good, rich, dark coffee in one stop.

Faster than most Panera's I have been to. Staff was nice and very informative. Restaurant has beautiful outdoor seating! I had some broccoli soup that was wonderful. It was very hot. The bread on my sandwich tasted very fresh. The dining room was a little bit of mess but it was after a lunch rush.

For a Downtown branch this is pretty down. The venue is located downtown way back from the street. Our service is always polite, but not outstanding. After we decided to just order Panera Food and go home to enjoy we have had no problems with this location.

I don't know really what to say here but, for shame. I like Panera I spent more time in college at the Panera across the street then is should admit. But I've never had coffee grounds in my coffee before. They are five other good places to get coffee in the area you can't slack on something that simple. If you accidentally dump the grounds in the coffee and not the percolator, make a new batch, I'll wait.
