I celebrated my birthday last night with friends and family at Olive Garden and it was the worst decision. Our waitress Corey R was horrid and I always say, I don't mind if a waiter/waitress doesn't add to my night as long as they don't take away anything from my night. And she was terrible. I was hoping the food would over compensate her lack of ability but it also fell short. The highlight was when our check came and we could finally leave! Olive Garden for me has always been a hit or miss but the food is normally enjoyable. But after last night I don't believe I'll ever return.

One problem with chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Applebee's is they herd you like cattle in and out. The waitress at Olive Garden today was pushing to get us out of place as soon as possible.

I ordered online for pickup when I went to pick it up they offered me a free drink while I was waiting! The waiter was very helpful and the order came out really quick. The Tuscan Trio is a great choice!

Breadsticks and salad we're fine. I ordered the Pappardelle Pescatore, with pasta, shrimp, mussels and scallops with asparagus. The sauce was supposed to be spicy, I could not detect any spice. In fact, I found it to be bland. My son ordered Chicken Gnocchi soup and Chicken Ceasar Salad. Soup was good. My wife ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Carbinara. It was just average. They have taken all of our favorites off the menu, we hardly ever go anymore.

This was our first time back to this Olive Garden as we had lived away from Louisville for many years. We've eaten at many Olive Gardens in Kentucky and have never really been disappointed. We will not be going back to this location of Olive Garden EVER AGAIN!!!!!! I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo and my husband ordered the Tour of Italy. Both were MAJOR disappointments. When I pointed it out they did tell me that the tiny shrimps they used in the Alfredo were in fact FROZEN. Really? The Alfredo sauce was too thick and unappetizing. We've had far better food, at the same price point at places like Macaroni Grill or others in the immediate area. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Apparently they have enough business while serving inferior food at prices higher then the quality of the dish would suggest. BON APPETITE Olive Garden!!!!

Hey you get what you deserve in a chain. & it is very seldom that I patronize one. But they do have great Moscato and the stuffed shrooms are always ok. Service was good. But hey go get what you pay for!

Average. Most folks are familiar with this chain restaurant. Here some good and bad with this location: The good: Interior is in good shape and nice looking. The bad: Getting there is a little brutal. The location is at one of the most congested areas of town especially during rush hour. The lot is often full--even on weekdays. The restaurant is not necessarily overcrowded, but the lot, for some reason, usually is. The food is always average. Though, I do really love the all-you-can-eat, Greek-style, house salad... it has never failed me. The service has been great and it has been poor. So food = okay and service = luck of the draw. It's an Olive Garden. I think most know what you're gonna get.

Always great food, mainly soup, salad and bread. Have had good and bad experiences at this particular Olive Garden. Good times.

It's an Olive Garden!! Our Italian VP brought a team of us here for dinner the other night. And whether it's that southern hospitality or the fact that I was delirious from exhaust, the food tasted good here and the service was exceptional. But then again, you can say just about anything with a southern drawl ... - slap a "sweetie" at the end of it and you're golden. "Would you like to add cheese to that 2000 calorie salad you chubby little pig? Here you go sweetie! Bless your fat little heart!" The appetizer platter was pretty good - I really liked the calamari actually, and the stuffed mushrooms were tasty. I had the Seafood portofino and it was a very hearty serving - I picked out most of the seafood and left the noodles. Can't go wrong with all you can eat salad and breadsticks ... (and wine in our case as well when the company is footing the bill ...just kidding!) Had the chocolate Gelato for dessert - and it was very decadent. Chocolate chips on chocolate gelato?!? And despite being a chain, the tirimisu wasn't bad either. All in all - I had a very nice dinner here. And should my travels bring me to Louisville gain, I know this is a dependable place to go.

Good 'ol Olive Garden. Always good for some raspberry peach sweet tea, bread sticks, salad, pasta, and free refills for all. This Olive Garden is true to the brand. If you live in Louisville, this is your one and only location. Enjoy and be good to it.

I think the food was good, if I remember.......yes, I think it was. You see, Olive Garden has always been one of my favorite restaurants. That is until we moved here to Louisville. Now I just can't get into the dang place, it appears there is only one and it's dang near impossible to get in there. I've been to this location only one time and we had to go in the middle of the afternoon to get a table. So, I guess you 'd like this Olive Garden......that is if you like to NOT eat at meal time.

Dropped in for a late dinner. Food was OK and pretty predictable. What the heck, we were hungry so it tasted pretty damn good. Shrimp caprese and Chicken parm were decent. The salad and bread sticks were like the always are. It's what's Italian for dinner in Kentucky.

Five of us met here for dinner and were given wonderful service. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait about 30 min for our table ONLY because we did not like the location of the table that had been assigned to our reservation. During the wait, we sat at the bar and consumed half-priced glasses of wine. They made the wait utterly enjoyable. I began my meal with the new wine flight, which consists of 3-3oz glasses of Olive Gardens "Signature" house wines (Bianco, Rosato and Rosso). The Bianco and Rosso were just a wee bit dry, but the Rossato was somewhat sweet. I enjoyed all three. The unlimited salad and breadsticks were wonderful, as usual. I've noticed that Olive Garden has cut down on the amount of salt that they use in their house salad dressing and on the amount of garlic in the breadsticks. I applaud the decrease in Salt but not the decrease in garlic. I wanted to eat lite so I ordered the Mediterranean Flatbread. It's toppings include Basil pesto and olive oil, topped with a blend of four Italian cheeses, artichoke hearts, olives, capers, roasted red peppers and garlic. The garlic that I missed on the breadsticks I received on the flatbread. Can you tell that I love garlic? For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse dolcini. Dolcinis are small desserts. At less than $3 each, you can order several and taste different desserts in one sitting. Overall, I was pleased with my experience.

I went to Olive Garden for a more relaxing work lunch and was actually pleasantly surprised with the service. They weren't the quickest, but it's not fast food so it didn't bother me; however, the waiter was just a really nice fella. He was attentive and friendly and really exceeded my expectations. I tend to have low expectations for Olive Garden as I haven't been to one in many years and after having poor service at the others I have been to. I ordered the Duo, which included salad and flat bread. I chose the Mediterranean flat bread, which had olives, cheese, garlic, and a few additional veggies. My colleague had the grilled chicken flat bread and I thought his was better than mine. All in all it was a fairly good lunch experience.

Worst customer service. The "server" only said to us what do you want to drink? That is it. Then after another 10 minutes he finally comes back, "do you know what you want?" I had been waiting to ask him if there was another menu I could order off of, because the lunch menu was so limited. I asked, he was so rude I just laughed in shock. He said this is lunch, that is a lunch menu we have a dinner menu but that is dinner, It's lunch time. I've had bad customer service before but this guy wins, he looked at us like we were idiots and had the worst attitude I've ever dealt with. I would have stayed and ordered just an appetizer but his attitude was so appalling I could not stay, and I'm sure the service would have only gotten worse. Other servers just stood there and watched. Extremely disappointed I'll go out of my way to go to another olive garden location next time!

Decent food and friendly service. All and all though at the end of the day it's still just Olive Garden. Was seated immediately on a Saturday night at 7pm which was nice for a change. They have a few new Tours of Italy which looked really good. Would return if I was in the area again.

Olive garden use to be awful, but then about 10 years ago it got a lot better. They seemed to have really made improvements. I enjoyed a number of meals there. Now it seems that they are headed back down again. My steak was veiny. My wife's meal lacked much flavor at all.

Experience: Nothing Special Pros: While this is the first time being to an Olive Garden, the interior was quite nice and the service was extremely friendly. We had an old gal as our server and she was probably the most sweetest and helpful person we've met. Cons: Like quite a few people have expressed, this location can be somewhat hard to get to but isn't bad once you get used to the location. The food was pretty poor in-comparison to other Italian restaurant as the food seemed pretty bland. As it was our first time at Olive Garden, we don't know if this is the norm since it is a chain restaurant but our whole group expressed we could of cooked better food at home for cheaper. Rating: While the food wasn't great for us, the service was probably one of the best we've encountered. I really can't get past the food and will only give them a two star.

Olive Garden, the staple of Italian chain restaurants. Always pleasing and always good. We went last night because a friend of hours gave us a left over gift card. Of course we took it. I had the Lasagna Classico and my wife ordered the Ravioli di Portobello. I had the never ending bowl of salad while my wife had the soup, but I let her sneak in some salad and of course the bread sticks. The food is always good. I do not know if you can really go wrong coming to the Olive Garden. The only critique I have is the dining room area. I can not really put my finger on it, but it just felt strange. I didn't feel like I was in an actual restaurant but I didn't feel like I was in a buffet either. It just felt odd. On a weird note, I think the tables are too wide to talk to someone across the table if you want to have an intimate conversation. With a high audio level of chatter, I don't enjoy using my outside voice during a nice dinner. Hunter, our server, was exceptional. With a cool attitude he was able to get the job done right with his side-server Valerie. Tip this guy well if you have him. Come and be where you are family and enjoy some classic tastes for a good price.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
