To be honest, I feel a little guilty about reviewing McAlister's because I'm just not a deli kind of person. I don't really like sandwiches. On this visit, I had the roast beef sandwich and an order of mac & cheese. The sandwich was okay. I could eat it, which is saying a lot for me. I didn't particularly care for the mac & cheese though. It was way overcooked - the noodles were probably soggy from being under the heat lamp for too long. I know that I'm being a tad harsh because, like I said - I just don't really do sandwiches. This is just where my fellow shoppers wanted to go & I came along for the ride. If you do like your meat in lunch form, then you would probably love it! My husband seems to like McAlister's just fine. They do have a pretty awesome promotion for parents though - Kids eat free Monday-Thursday. If I had kids, they would be eating there four days a week and they would like it!

Nice place. Menu was huge. I ordered the New Yorker for 6.99. The sandwice was too small. I expected it to be more generous. It als was supposed to have pastrami with corned beef, but there was barely a slice. Very clean pla e and courteous employees, but i didn't want to re-order and just ate what i had.

This was my first trip to a McAllisters, and I chose it due to convenience. The menu was extensive, offering a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and salads. I ordered a club sandwich, which came with a side of chips. I ordered at the counter, and they delivered to my table. Sandwich was of good quality, and I thought the value was good. Based on this one experience, I would return to a McAlisters for a sandwich if i was close to one of its locations, but would not necessarily go out of my way to seek it out. Its a solid choice.

It's good. But like every other McAlisters. I do like the subway tiles along the wall though. A good panera alternative in the St. Matthews area!

I really used to despise this restaurant. I never could find anything that satisfied my taste buds. Since my gf loves this place, I do give it a try from time to time. I've finally found the go-to menu item at this location. The Smoky Pepper Jack Turkey Grilled Sandwich! Butterball smoked turkey, applewood smoked bacon and pepper jack cheese topped with Mcalister's honey mustard on ciabatta bread. Ordering the Smoky Pepper-Jack Turkey with a side of plain potato chips. I'm sold every time. It's a menu item that I don't think they can mess up. Honestly it also might be the honey mustard. Lately I have cravings for honey mustard on/with everything! They have plenty of menu items to choose from so you should at some point be able to find something you like. Out of all the Mcalister's locations, I think the Breckenridge location is by far the best location. The employees are nicer. Service is faster. Food is always fresh. Larger than other locations. The frozen yogurt place next to it is better than other frozen yogurt places next to Mcalister's. It's just better all around.

My husband is a great fan of sandwiches but I am not. But I loved this place. They have a huge variety of sandwiches and soups and lot of vegetarian options. The combo option makes the meal very affordable and provides variety. Don't forget to have the fully loaded nachos.

I went here tonight to get a quick good meal for my wife and I. I got to McAlisters at 8:40 PM which is 20 mins before they close. I've worked in places like this myself before so I know what it's like to want to get ahead on your cleaning duties so you can get done quicker. Bottom line is it still doesn't doesn't mean you stop giving your customers service. I placed my order and I did ask them to give me a full spud instead a regular half with the Pick 2 deal. The one girl got another girl who helped her ring it up the right way. The second girl looked at me and said "What do you want?" Not exactly warm and friendly. After this some people were trying to plan where they were going drinking that night which isn't necessarily a bad thing but just not very professional. I got my food but they didn't get my order right as I didn't get my side item with my meal. Not a great experience at all. I hope they get better.

Somewhen around mid-March, searching for somewhere simple & quick to eat after a long, long day of walking about Bardstown Rd, we settled on McAlister's on Breckenridge as every other spot near the Highlands was packed with Irish revelers, certainly a Scottish place wouldn't be so busy. And I was right, the spotless dining room was just peppered with a few diners here and there. But I don't really think this deli is particularly Scottish as I didn't see any signs of haggis or kippers at all on the menu. But there's definitely a lot of other items. Too many, even, as a choice was difficult to make. In the end, I settled on a simple club sandwich and the boys went for grilled cheeses. All were pretty solid as sandwiches go, but not so fantastic that I would go out of my way to stop by. However, I would wager it's a fairly reliable eatery on any given day, based on this sole experience, just don't go expecting some black pudding or a Scotch pie. I know, disappointed, right?

I ordered lunch via McAlister's website from the Breckenridge Ln. store for our office, 5 orders, and the electronic receipt said it would be ready about 15 minutes later. When I arrived to pick up our order, approximately 15 minutes later, it was all bagged up and ready to go. I paid and took the order out to my car. I inspected the contents of the bag to make sure I wasn't missing anything and an order of soup from one of the soup and sandwich combo meals were missing. I went back inside and was provided a to-go container of my missing potato soup at no charge. No big deal mistakes happen. Strike 1. I drove the 8 minutes back to the office and took out my order from the bunch which was a Harvest Chicken Salad on a wheat hoagie, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, with a side of mashed potatoes, no gravy. I tried the plain mashed potatoes and they were tasty; no gravy, butter, or seasoning needed. Next, I opened up my sandwich box and alas, no tomato which I specifically requested be added to my sandwich on my online order. Strike 2. I was already back at the office at this point and it wasn't worth getting back out in the rain for tomato so I dug in. My first bite was unsuccessful as I was unable to penetrate the incredibly dry, stale, wheat hoagie bun. Strike 3. I understand when a wheat hoagie bun is toasted it can get crunchy but the condition of this bun was just shy of crouton dry. One of the cooks there actually picked up I'm sure was a noticeably stale wheat hoagie bun, toasted it, and constructed my sandwich with it. I was not pleased. I had some sandwich thins at work that I transferred the chicken salad over to and had that for lunch. The chicken salad itself was very good, and had plenty of flavor. No additional seasoning was required (I like my food well-seasoned). The McAlister's wheat hoagie bun/crouton was discarded. Overall this was a disappointing experience for me.

Love the tuna wrap! Fast service! This is a heavy wrap with lots of yummy tuna. It's actually enough for two meals so a real treat to share. There's quite a crowd at lunch but don't let that stop you because this crew is fast to prepare your food. A very warm reception on entering.

They offer a FULL selection of sandwiches! Great location right off a freeway and also the service was rock solid. It is nice to see a sandwich place like this with a large dining space inside.

I found the visit to this McAlister's Deli to be a very pleasant surprise. First of all, its cleanness was a real eye opener. The bathroom was immaculate, not even a stray piece of paper towel on the floor. The dining room was just as clean. I know it is weird for me to comment on the bathrooms before the food at a restaurant, but this one just warrants the mention first! Now the food: I ordered a bowl of jambalaya and a Justaspud (plain with butter and sour cream). The jambalaya had a mild, warm heat with chucks of chicken and thin slices of sausage. The potato was hot like it should be. The two made a very nice light lunch for me. Hubby loved his French dip sub. I could see the beef has actual pinkness to it suggesting it is like the salty pressed stuff at Arby's. His side of potato salad was very tasty, too. All in all, 3 stars for the food and an extra one for the cleanness!

I go to Mcalister's quite frequently, but I don't know if I'll be back to this location after my recent experience. It started off by being given an unsweet tea when I ordered sweet. Didn't think much of it, just that it was a simple mistake. Our food came out and the boy that delivered it seemed like he was on another planet. He was very immature and had no idea what he was doing. My soup was cool, not hot, like most people like it and my sandwich looked like the kid who brought it out was who put it together. One section of the club, didn't have anything in it, just bread pushed together with bread. My boyfriend despises pickles, his sandwich and chips were served with the pickle smack in the middle of the plate underneath everything, leaking juice on all of his food. His bacon also looked like it could've started a kitchen fire for being so burnt. Individually any one of these mistakes would have been nothing to worry about, however when you compound them, it turns into a miserable lunch. Next time I will visit panera, which is right next door.

Sidled up to the counter for a vegetarian baked potato but was unsure if veggie chili would make the potato better or worse. Girl at the counter was young and patient with my indecisiveness and gave me a free sample of chili to tide me over. I proceeded to watch the family behind me give her a VERY rude and hard time about the free dinner for kids under twelve (that person's son was NOT under twelve- he had a BEARD!) that they would NOT be receiving. She handled it and was nice to me even after that. I normally don't review chains because for the most part, you know what you're getting, but I felt it was worth the shout out to the friendly counter girl. Location was clean and the food was satisfying.
