National Donut Day! My kids and I started our journey for donuts s little late in the day. Went to one Krispy Kreme location and they only had one donut and a handful of donut holes left. So we drive to this one, which is a main store. Arrived and the line was wrapped around the interior, but they had a big and plentiful selection of donuts. Line took approx 10 mins to move around, and we got our fresh donuts

When the "hot now" sign is on that usually means you can go in and get one right off the line. Well not here. Sign was on so I busted a u turn to go back and grab a fresh glazed donut. Walk in the door and the like isn't working.....ok so give me one out of the case. Then I see the birthday cake milkshake deal they have so I figure I'll give that a shot. It gets handed to me and it's a green dirt color.......wtf. I get out to my car and taste it, it has a funny after taste so I ended up chucking it. What a let down and waste.

This is Krispy Kreme, donuts.. coffee. Ask for the donuts fresh out of the oven if they have any. My favorite have the kreme filling, give those a shot!

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are and always will be five stars. I was so put off by how gross the profiteering was here. We were in a rush pre-Derby so I swung by here for breakfast with one of my friends. We were in the drive-thru and I started to ask for individual doughnuts of different flavors. I had intended to pick up six or so. In a honeyed voice: "Why don't we just make that order a dozen doughnuts?" I didn't have time to protest so I defeatedly went along. Doughnuts are cheap, delicious and good at preventing hangovers. Whatever. I ordered two iced coffees as well. In an even more unctuous tone: "Can I add a cup of doughnut holes for 99 cents?" I was getting a bit suspicious at this point but managed to stay polite and declined. The bill came out to $13.13. I weakly commented on the amusing total. Manager (I think): "That's nice but why don't we make that a round sum of $14 by your donating to our blah-blah-blah charity today?" WTF. This is already so tacky and gross but you're asking me to donate all of 87 cents to charity? Could you have at least made it a tad less obvious that you were trying to steal and at least asked for a dollar? What a sham of an establishment. I am a prouder and prouder southerner as I live here and transactions like this slick, polite fleecing and backstabbing represent the worst stereotypes of the south. Sorry to be so vehement but these are the people and practices who ruin southerners' reputations outside of the region. I intend to visit Louisville in the future but I am NEVER returning here again.

Ugh...I hate to even write this, because this location has always been a favorite of mine, I love the fact that it has a drive thru and is open 24/7...many nights when I was a student at uofl my friends and I would make a late night trip for those fresh out of the oven donuts. They are indescribably good. So, after moving to Maryland with my husband and living nowhere close to a Krispy Kreme for a few years, when we moved back, I was anxious to take him so he could experience the deliciousness! The hot sign wasn't on (first time it hadn't been on that I have visited, but you can't win them all I suppose!) we figured no big deal, they will still be great. Boy, was I wrong. We ordered 4 donuts (2 regular glazed, one chocolate glazed with sprinkles, and one glazed creme filled), one for now and one for breakfast the next day. The employee placed my change, a dollar and several coins, on top of the box then handed it to me, spilling change all in my car. Other than that the service was okay, nothing to write home about. As for the actual donuts...The original glazed were awful...something was just off, even the texture. The Krispy kremes in the cases at gas stations, and sold in boxes at grocery store were better than these. The glaze was weirdly crunchy, just a total miss, and it tasted like a bad knockoff of a Krispy Kreme. My glazed creme filled was okay the next morning, and my husband said the chocolate with sprinkles was fine, but I can't pretend that I wasn't disappointed in this location...

They left me sitting in drive thru for 20 minutes they forgot about me. Don't be their only customer

After eating Krispy Kreme donuts, one shouldn't bother to eat donuts elsewhere :) You'll be very disappointed! There is just something about the Krispy Kreme yeast recipe that is out of the world good. So light, fried up crisp on the outside and soft and cotton-like on the inside. Perfection! Gotta love the hot off the line original glazed! My favorite donut is their glazed cream filled. Again, their cream reigns supreme compared to anywhere else. I was always a huge custard fan until I have this cream. Their seasonal donuts are always fun and generally pretty good. I really like their cake-like donuts too, with blueberry being my fav. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the inconsistency in service. At my last visit, there were 5 employees behind the counter and one at the door and not a single one greeted customers, no one smiled or even made eye contact with the customers. It was very rushed and impersonal. Friendliness and simple courtesy go a long way.

We arrived at KK tonight @ 11pm. No worries though KK has been open 24 hours for years. Tonight I pulled on the door and they're locked. The sign says the lobby is closed now at 11pm on Saturdays. This appears to be a trend. They have a new remodeled look complete with 2 handicap parking spots front and center to support the burgeoning numbers of people who are on disability who are not even close to disabled. Meanwhile we've seen at least 25 people turned away because the door is locked and we've been here 23 minutes. We've been coming here for years and this is our last trip. My advice to you is to do what I'm going to do and sell all your Krispy Kreme stock because if management is this stupid then I don't want my money invested in these guys. This is representative of a trend in the United States toward less customer service which will ultimately translate to a decline in earnings. American companies have now tipped the scale and have become too aggressive on cost cutting measures. It it a sad day in America. This may signal the top, the high point of American glory. Make that 30 customers now.

Slowest service ever. Asked for two boxes of coffee and two dozen donuts. The lady takes 20 minutes to fill two containers of coffee an doesn't ask another employee to get the donuts while she is filling the coffee. So we then got to wait another 10 minutes for her to box the donuts. Then of course, we had to wait for her to bag up some creamers, sugar packets, and stir sticks. Left an hour early for work to be able to stop and get coffee and donuts on the way, apparently that wasn't enough time.

I always seem to visit when someone is giving away doughnuts at the front door. Win! I've only visited once that I got a warm doughnut right off the conveyor belt though. I need to work on my timing! On more than one occasion I've experienced lack luster customer service here. I didn't see anyone else comment on this so maybe it was just a fluke or just me. That being said, I'll keep coming back every now and then when a KK doughnut sounds good!

Chocolate frosted cream filled. Blueberry cake. Cruller. Lemon jelly with powdered sugar. I could eat a dozen at a sitting. The coffee isn't that great but the donuts... *sigh*... yum.

Bardstown Rd. Aglow - it is a must stop!! I love KK! There is no substitute. I am so glad it is here and so glad I do not live closer because I would probably ask for a job and then become very, very unhealthy. Like Homer Simpson says, "Doughnuts!!!!"!

Can't believe how slow this place is... I sat for 10 min in my car waiting for my coffee.... This wouldn't have happened at Starbucks .... Customer service was rude so sad :(....

I am excited to see what the inside will look like after the remodeling. For now, the drive through is a great option.

Had to go get doughnuts on National Doughnut Day monday. Krsipy Kreme chocolate custard filled are awesome. You can go there any time of day and get the freshest doughnuts there are but, if you can catch them making them in the back room it;s a real treat. They even have a step for the little ones to get up and watch. It's fascinating to see.

It doesn't compare to anything else. Yes you can compare donuts to donuts, but not KK's to donuts. There really is no other type of thing like these. Go get'em now, fresh and hot. Let 3 melt in your soul and take some home. This particular location holds a special place in my heart as it is one of the old classics and my first and original KK hang out from back in the 80's.

Awesome Donuts! From creme filled, cake and the original Krispy Lreme donut are a necessity every once in awhile. The regular Krispy Kreme were hot out of the oven! Melt in your mouth goodness!

Again, I hate to be reviewing a chain, but Krispy Kreme is something special. I didn't realize until recently that not everyone knows you can go inside and watch the donuts being made. TIP: If you ever have kids in tow, this is a great (and cheap) way to keep them entertained for quite a while. TIP #2: this location is near a high school and gets very busy on week days when school lets out. My favorite: 1 original glazed + 1 chocolate glazed + 1 coffee. mmmmm.

As much as I LOVE Krispy Kreme, this particular store has always failed to fill my order right. The doughnuts I have had from this store were the worst doughnuts I have ever recieved from any Krispy Kreme. That includes the week old Krispy Kreme's that can be found in your local gas station or grocery store.

This location is in a cute vintage building, and they have the glazed doughnuts at weird hours of the night. I am so glad I lived by this establishment while I was pregnant.

OMG, I cannot believe I am the very first person to review Krispy Kreme! Well, my brother lives across the street and whenever I am in town, I come over, and believe me, I get a donut. Actually, when I went to Louisville this weekend, the Kreme was my first stop after the airport. Now, they have mini donuts!!!!!! There are only a few kinds though- glazed, chocolate iced, and iced with sprinkles, but they are just as delicious as the big donuts. This visit, I had two minis, but my other favorites are the honey bun donut and the apple-filled spice donut. YUM! And they are so much better than the ubiquitous Dunkin Donuts in my area. There are at least eight in Marlborough alone and they are horrible. I don't even like their coffee, but then again, I don't really like coffee. The donuts from Krispy Kreme simply melt in your mouth; they are warm, moist, and are a beautiful gift to all of humanity. Dunkin Donuts are stale, taste very manufactured, and just kind of suck. Here's a "hot" tip-- sometimes, if you see a "hot donuts" sign lit up outside, someone might be passing out free donuts to you on your way in! You'd be lucky to get a free munchkin at the Dunka Dunk in Mass.
