Readers be warned: Yelp won't post a review unless you give a rating of at least 4 stars: 5.0 star rating 11/24/2013 Yelp won't post a review if you give the restaurant less than 4 stars So, in other words, you aren't going to read any bad (or possibly accurate) reviews here. So, now let's talk about Iroquois Pizza. This place is obviously a beloved neighborhd-type place. I saw lots of 8-10-14 top parties w/ Grandpa & Grandma, Mom & Dad, sis/bro, grand & great grand kids all over the rm. 2nd thing I notice was lots of parties knowing each other. Unfortunately ambience did not make up for the dirty ceiling tiles (Restaurant Impossible should come here), dirty floor & woefully dated furniture/decor. Ok - now onto the food. Chef Pizza was bad. Crust 1/4" thick - thin crust must be microscopic. Appetizers were straight out of the freezer after being purchased @ either Sam's or Gordon Food Service. Basically, what patrons are paying for is someone to cook for them. I'll go back a time or two to try the baked spaghetti or maybe one of the sandwiches but this place is way past it's prime and that's sad. It could truly be a diamond in the South End rough.

I did not go to the restaurant! I only received delivery! I do give this pizza 8 out of 10 and probably the top three best pizzas in Louisville!

Living in the Southend, you're forced to really look for diamonds in the rough. It's definitely not the Highlands or Frankfort Avenue, but it does have a few unique dining experiences, albeit more of the "dive" variety. Iroquois Pizza is decidedly southend. Just off Manslick, between the Rollerdrome and Palatka, this little family-owned restaurant has been a local staple for quite some time. Serving up Italian fare: hoagies, pizza, spaghetti, etc., Iroquois Pizza does it well. Nothing spectacular, simply good food, some Amber Bock on tap and a game on the tube, and a lot of locals. And for the romantics there's a small booth in the back corner with a trellis and candles, and you can share a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. ;-)

I like Iroquois Pizza. I like their sandwiches, their pasta's, and the local atmosphere. Unfortunately, I do not like their pizza. I know pizza is very much dependent on personal taste, and everyone has their different favorite, so I am a little hesitant to offer my opinion. Anyway, I find the crust too thick, and the toppings, although abundant, without flavor. You have to add spicey pepper flakes to give it flavor. About the only thing I can say about the pizza is, it is filling. The fast food pizza chains make as good, if not better pizza, than Iroquois. Go for the sandwiches, or pasta.

I recently started working in the delivery food deprived Southend of Louiville. However, on Fridays Iroquois Pizza opens at 11 am and actually delivers to my workplace. Thus, this past Friday my entire office went in together and placed a large order. Now, it is important to realize right away that all food in the Southend must be judged for what it is, food in the Southend. This is very important because Iroquois Pizza is really good if you are near Dixie Highway or Taylor Blvd and are hungry, or need delivery on the Southend, but if you are located Downtown or in the Highlands there are far better options for pizza. So, in terms of the actual food, my cheese calzone was massive, crispy, and cheesy. However, it had the sauce baked into the calzone instead of served on the side. I consider that to be a technical error in Calzone making but it was still pretty darn tasty. I ordered a side salad and the lettuce was all yellow and wilted. It was virtually inedible and I threw it away. Three of my coworkers ordered pizza and they all thought that they were delicious (two ordered the Bigga and one ordered a custom pizza). Will we order again at work? Absolutely! Would I go out of my way to drive to the Southend to get Iroquois Pizza if I wasn't already working in the Southend? Probably not.

Staying at a local hotel and was looking for some delivery, saw the reviews on this place and decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Got the fish and chips and they were a good size cut of fish and were not really greasy. It was good enough that I actually ordered from them again tonight.

Service was fantastic and super friendly. Felt like a good hometown place. Food was excellent. Good marinara sauce. Fresh baked perfect garlic bread. Wonderful pizza with lots of cheese. It was cooked perfectly. Had crisp crust with some of the cheese burnt. Loved it! Only wish I lived closer.

Good thing my dad does not read yelp or this review would get me disowned. He loves this place and when we go visit I know it is on his list and for some reason the last two times I have lucked out and the night we have it listed, they are closed, which I want to say is on Mondays. However, this last visit, he had no issues juggling nights and bringing us one of these babies home. There is something about the sauce on the pizza that makes me want to shiver it, as it seems a bit rich and maybe a little too heavy? The first time he took us in there, it was packed. I have seen this building go from a hippy macrame and candle shop in the 1970s, a nursery for plants, a used car lot and now the pizza place. Same little building, so many uses, but churning out awesome pizza is not one of them. I prefer Bonnie and Clyde's pizza on Dixie by far. Now, we are working on a story to not hurt dad's feelings about this subpar pizza that has way too many grease pools on top, so we can go to Bonnie and clyde's. If you still want to try them, I know dad has only ordered us the Bigga pizza and everyone but a couple of us, seem to enjoy it.
