THE LOCATION: Home Run B&F is located on Hurstbourne Parkway south of I-64 in the shopping center with ChuckECheese on the West side of the street. The location is great is connected with other retail shops. FIRST IMPRESSION: The place looked very clean on the outside and the inside. Their were a few outside eating tables and lots of space on the inside. You order first at the counter and then they call your number to pick up your food. THE SELECTION: As the name suggest, its mainstay is Burger and Fries. They just added Fish but I have not tried this yet. They do have a chicken sandwich just in case. THE FOOD: You start out with the basic burger and then get a TON of toppings that you can request. I had mine with Roasted Red Peppers, Mushroom, Lettuce and tomatoes and it was great! It comes with two meat patties and all your requested toppings. We got fries with our order also. TIP: If you are going to order fries, you may want to split them with someone else. We each ordered our own order not realizing they were going to give us that much (not that I'm complaining or anything). OVERALL: Our experience was great. The people were friendly, the atmosphere set for families and singles alike and the food was wonderful. We will be back again with our other family members to enjoy this place in the future.

OK, so I returned to the Shelbyville Road Plaza location a couple of days ago. No owner in sight, but the manager had everything under control. In fact, I saw him reject some fries that were put on the tray a little bit before the burger was ready and the place was spotless. Burger and fries were both excellent. Good management is essential to a restaurant, and I have raised my rating accordingly.

Good and only getting better. When I first ate here I was comparing them to Five Guys and they match up pretty well. Very similar burger but with one major difference.....the bun. I was unimpressed with the bun originally , but last time I went it was much better. Not sure what changed, but it seemed better to me. Still give that edge to FG, when the bun feels like it was made to go with the burger not a separate piece then it will be perfect. The cajun cheese fries are a must when you go. They are finally giving you more for your money in the fry department, which evens the playing field with FG. Always adding stuff to the menu to keep up with trends, Bases Loaded Burger was a nice addition. I would like to see more "Game Plans". Menu of burger recipes unique to this place and easy to order rather than adding everything one at a time. They have all the toppings for great combinations of flavors, some people aren't creative enough to make a good burger so help them out. Oh and this is an amazing hangover cure. Does the trick every time and judging from last weekend I wasn't the only one. I do wish they stayed open later, walking up at 9pm with your mouth set on a burger only to find a locked door is not cool.

Best burgers anywhere. So many options to choose from on the menu. I like to go with grilled onions, cajun seasoning, and Franks Red Hot on my cheeseburger. The cajun fries are wonderful. And they have bottles of vinegar if you like vinegar fries. Staff is friendly, my order has been right every time, and the place is always bright and clean with sports on the tv's. My four year old asks to go here often and likes their burgers and hotdogs.

SUMMARY: It's like Five Guys, but the fries aren't as good. The burgers at this place are pretty good. Certainly not the best in town (that honor probably goes to WW Cousins) but they're definitely up there. The fries, sadly, don't seem to be as fresh or delicious as Five Guys even though the burgers are pretty much equal. My kid usually wants the chicken strips instead of a burger, but I'd advise you to skip it. It's pretty bland and uninteresting.

Took the family there tonight after Saturday evening service at chruch. My youngest son did not like his grilled cheese, but he is picky so I don't count that. I actually did like the fries a little better this time than in previous trips. I can tell they have been doing some research at other burger places. I did not try some of the new toppings this time. I noticed that the Bases Loaded Burger was an exact copy of other places. Oh well. I have heard great things about thier fish sandwiches so I tried one tonight. I was hoping for something great but was disappointed. At some point the fish was frozen. I cannot tell if it was breaded first or if is was thawed and then breaded. Either way, it was not what I expected. All in all, it was a little more solid than my last visit, but the fish was not good at all. I gotta say though, the decor is great and I love how thematic and consistent with the theme they are. Impressive.

They have Red Gold ketchup! (need I say more) The fries and shake were not good at all. I highly recommend 5 guys over this place. Will not be going back..

Tried this place out during a road trip. Delicious burgers, not too greasy. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Clean premises. Inexpensive, less than $20.00 for two adults. Fries are a little too salty and there is no baby changing station, or I would give it a five.

It's not every day that your 7 year old writes ad copy for a restaurant.I was looking for someplace different to take Mister and had a coupon for Home Run Burgers. It's on Hurstbourne, which I dread. But it wasn't bad even though it was Saturday night. You order at the counter. There are 24 different toppings which I thought was going to slow things down but ordering went smoothly. Mister got the bat boy basket and was pleased with getting to choose his fixin's.Beers were half price so Dad was pleased with his beverage. They give you a number that they call out when your order is ready. Back to Mister's ad.Our order came on a try and the burgers were wrapped in tin foil and were huge.Mister dug in quick to his patty while I started on my fries.I told him these were "real" fries and his response was 'and this is real good'.I told this to the owner as she was checking on tables and she asked for permission to use it in their commercials,Mister obliged. Burgers were great, fries were as well although one order is enough for two people. Decor os baseball themed with a couple t.v.s set to sports but sound off;music played over speakers but not too loud for conversation. They have arcade games in a seperate room so they are not a distraction. Overall, a great place for a burger and to hang with the family.

This place hasn't been open for terribly long and the places that have been at this location before have not succeeded. With that being said, they make a pretty good burger. The menu is very limited, consisting of mostly hamburgers and hot dogs. The burgers are Angus and they are made to order. The toppings list is very extensive. I also love the fresh cut fries. You can get them plain or Cajun seasoned. If you want a good burger this is a great place to go. Don't expect a huge menu because it's not there. Also, it is a bit overpriced. It is very good but costs a little more than i expected to pay.

Home Run Burgers is an excellent place to grab a made-to-order burger, hot dog or chicken sandwich. The menu may seem a bit limited, but in line with what one would expect from a baseball stadium themed restaurant. The signature Angus burgers are grilled as they are ordered and may be garnished with a long list of fresh ingredients. The fresh cut French fries are an excellent side, though one may opt for a bag of chips or peanuts. Adults can also enjoy a cold beer along with their entree. The prices are a little high for a "hamburger joint," but are reasonable for the area.

An excellent burger. I had most of the great ones (In-N-Out, Five Guys, Fat Burger, ) and I would say that this burger palace is just as good. Very juicy and flavorful. Loved the bun and all of the toppings were great. Had the Classic and loved it. My wife had a mushroom burger and thought it was excellent. Very good fries, better than In-N-Out but not quite as good as Five Guys. Beer is also available and that is a plus.

I don't usually eat burgers but I loved this place. Not just the burgers, their fries are ridiculously good: starchy, perfectly salted, just the way I like them :) also get the fish sandwich at least once, it is one of the best!!! I enjoy humble places like this, where the food brings on pleasant surprises!

The Cajun fries was a disappointment to me after I read good reviews on it. It was warm and wilted instead of crunchy and hot. The burger wasn't that wow to me but then I'm not a burger person. It's neat that you can get any of their 26 toppings for free. Just don't be too greedy like me and add everything on. My burger turned out huge, made it difficult and messy to eat.

Great burgers, They use fresh ingredients and angus beef. Food service is fast and accurate. Fries are hot and tasty. Our favorite burger in this city. Very good value, Only wish they carried coke Zero.

I called to speak with the owner, Kathy; asked for her by name. The kid that answered the phone said she not here, but you can talk to the manager. Handed the phone to the manager and said it's for you. I did get the owners email address, but I have not heard back.

Our favorite burger place! They have great French fries and iced tea also. The buns are toasted and they have a wide variety of toppings for the burgers.

Homerun burgers and fries is a great place to grab a delicious burger, they also have Cajun fries I would recommend as well. I had the single classic tonight w/cheese, if you are really hungry and not ready to move for about a day than get the double! I always enjoy going here as I am also a huge baseball fan, GoYankees!

I ordered a Mushroom Swiss burger combo, and it was a double 1/4 pounder. Great meal, I loved it. My dining partner ordered a burger combo and liked it, as well. Tuesday Kids Night. .99

I really enjoy their food. And it's made really fresh. I don't really care about the sports atmosphere, but it's baseball so that's not overbearing.

The driest burger in Louisville! My burger came out way over cooked (on the extra well side) as did the egg I requested as a topping. (How do u mess up an egg?) I left highly disappointed as I was really looking forward to a juicy burger. My advice is to just order some fries and a drink. Homerun, here? Strike Out Burger better suits this place.

Good burgers, fries, and service. Comparable to Five Guys or Smashburger. I like that they have a good kids menu. Good food. Good value.

Very tasty burgers. The fries are ok. The decor is a little much...it seems like they are trying too hard with the theme. It could have been toned down a little, in my opinion. But, I didn't go there to decorate, I went there to eat. And, I'll be back to try another specialty burger. The Reuben sounds interesting.

I'm a fan and have been since the open their door. Had one bad visit when they first opened, spoke with management and everything has been great since. The food here is fresh and that's what i love the most. the Burgers are juicy and the fries a tasty. I like to add the Cajun seasoning to my Burger and Fries just add the right amount of flavor. love the fresh hand patted meat and cut fries. Always moist and delicious. They offer other menu item like chicken, hot dogs and fish... never had those because i love Burgers.

I stopped by Home Run Burgers & Fries for my first dinner as a resident of Louisville, KY moving from Ohio, and left a little underwhelmed. I ordered the Mama T's burger with a drink and Cajun fries and dined in. The Mama T's burger seemed like an interesting concept consisting of a bacon cheeseburger topped with Thousand Island, slaw, roasted red peppers, and grilled onions, however it failed to deliver. I failed to distinguish the flavor of the roasted red peppers at all, and the grilled onions were a little cool, as if they had been pulled from a refrigerator. The slaw and 1000 Island were only okay but the bacon is what saved this burger. The Cajun fries were good and significantly less seasoned than what you would find at Five Guys. I have to comment that the sweet tea here was not very good, not particularly sweet at all and when I got a refill it almost tasted watered down and unpleasant. On the flip side, the burger was well constructed and didn't require the use of several napkins. Overall, I found Home Run Burgers & Fries to be capable of sating my hunger, but not my craving to find the best restaurants around town.

I'm definitely hitting this place again! Being from out of town, I needed some direction on how to accomodate my burger but once the cashier explained it to me, it was game on! The burgers were awesome!!! 26 various toppings to choose from!!! are you kidding me? LOL I was it hog heaven!!! I suggest you start with the a single patty and load up the toppings....as for the fries, you have to go with the Cajun fries.... I will definitely be back on my next visit!!!!!!

The burgers are fat and were cooked perfectly. My wife had the bacon and blue, it filled her up. I had the bases loaded and I ate it all with fries and am stuffed. Hot sauce would have made it better in hindsight(It would've went well with the egg), but that's my fault for being a rookie. Great service and I like the baseball theme. We shall definitely return.

I was hopeful, after reading the other Yelp reviews, that this would be a regular lunch place for me. I love a good burger. Alas, the food here was not good enough to make a return trip. Many of the other reviews basically called it a 5 Guys copy, only not as good. This completely overstates the experience I had. The burger at Home Run Burgers was so bland I wondered if they boiled it. It tasted like they thawed a frozen patty in water and threw out the juices with the water. The cajun fries were bland and barely warm. The dusting of cajun spices helped, but couldn't bring it up to the quality of fresh cut fries you can get in so many places, including 5 Guys, and Great American Steak (in malls if you can find one). All in all - if I want a bad burger, I'll pick one up at McDonald's, or nuke one at the gas station, on the go.

Great burgers and fries!! My fiancée and I had a groupon for there and we went for lunch. She built a burger with egg and some other stuff, I ordered one of the prebuilts with cheese, onions, bacon, coleslaw, and some other goodness. They were both delicious... Better than 5 Guys any day, in our opinion... I had the cajun fries and she had normal, I preferred the cajun. All in all, I wish we had one of these in the Denver area....

The three stars are definitely given for the tasty burgers. I got it just the way I like, swiss and mushrooms and mayonnaise. It was very juicy and tasty. The burger's circumference is just a bit bigger than the bun, like it should be. But if I get it the next time, I will get the junior size with just one patty. Their standard 2 patty burger is just a bit too much meat. The fries are blah. They are freshly cut, but not crispy. And I happen to see something they are offering that I have not tried before--oyster loaf. A Louisville local specialty?? I had to try it....ohhhhhh....what a disappointment and such injustice to the oyster. It turned out to be a deep fried fist size ball of cracker dough enveloping a tiny, canned oyster. Oye....it was NOT good.

This place makes one of the better burgers in Louisville. That being said I have to dock them one star, because on a recent visit, whoever was on the grill must have been in a hurry for the burger I received was still a bit raw, and occasionally the fries have been just a bit soggy. Still, it is a cut above most burger joints in town. Also, the map is wrong on here; it is actually about a half block north of Taylorsville Road. The manager on duty did not seem very pleased when I entered at 8:52pm (closing time listed as 9pm). He came across as polite and professional but clearly unhappy, even somewhat irritated, and the polar opposite of welcoming. Then another customer entered right after I did. Then three more, at which point he announced across the room 'we close at 9'. Customer shouted back 'what time is it', his reply was '8:58'. Then another customer entered and was greeted from across the room with the announcement 'we close at nine o'clock'. Seems like if so many people want to eat at his time that you would want to be open. And at the very least cheerfully honor the operating hours posted on your front door. While waiting for my food I heard another comment from the manager to a crew member acknowledging how disappointed they all were at having more sales (and more work) instead of getting to go home sooner. It was something like "oh well, we tried". I work in the same business and clearly understood the dynamics of this all too familiar scenario. By the way, the food was delicious. I will be back because I understand that behavior like this happens all the time, even by adults. Welcome to the QSR world in the twenty first century. Take it or stay home. Guess I know to get here well before your posted closing time if I want to be sure of getting served.

Love the burgers - always juicy and fresh! The hubs likes the bases loaded burger because he never gets a runny egg yolk. We don't have to wait long for our food and the employees are always nice and friendly too.

Love the Cajun fries. Kosher hot dogs with their relish is the best. Food is always hot and fresh.

Loved the Ruben burger. Juicy, salty, a little sauerkraut and just what the doctor ordered for my hangover. Our service at the register was polite and very patient with my indecisive mind. So much better than any national fast food chain could hope to be.
