Love everything about this place. I passed it too many times before trying it. food is always good, the people are always friendly, and my food is ready fast. Couldn't ask for anything better!

I saw someone's review said it was the best crab Rangoon in town so I just had to give it a try. I agree, it was very crabby and the crust was firm and not greasy. I took advantage of their online ordering and it was ready when I arrived. They were friendly and fast.

Shrimp lo mein is so flavorful and delicious and the crab Rangoon actually taste like crab! Imagine that! They did mix up my order so that I had to go back to exchange it, but in spite of that it is really yummy Chinese food!

This place is ok. It's definitely cheap enough. I've tried them quite a few times in hopes that it'll be better. My gf loves this place. Some of my co-workers also love this place. I just don't get why? I've had a variety of things from here. It's not that it's bad, because everything I've had is edible, but things don't have a lot of flavor. The extra miscellaneous thing to add is later on in the night after I've had Double Dragon. It's a gateway to some of the nastiest farts I've ever experienced. I equate it to a lingering dirty dishwater/sewage smell. I hate to say that because the staff is extremely nice, but it never fails. Every time I eat there... that smell presents itself in my farts. So, if you need something in a hurry... go here. If you need something to weaponize yourself in a fart battle... go here. If you want something cheap... go here. If you want something with a little more quality and a little more flavor, definitely make the trip somewhere else and spend a few more dollars.

Fast. Cheap. Good. That is as simple as a review can get. For take-out-only Chinese, they top the charts.

I am a tough critic when it comes to Chinese take out, but Double Dragon does it right! With speedy service and awesome food I definitely recommend hitting this strip mall restaurant up next time you need a Chinese food fix. There is a fine line between awesome cheap Chinese food and terrible cheap Chinese food, but this little spot is on the right side of that line.

Great food, good prices, and ready quickly. You probably don't want to eat inside, it's very sparse.

Always good, hot, super fresh food. Definitely a take out place but the best fried rice around!

The English punk rock group The Adicts eloquently sang long ago, "Hey, hey, I want some Chinese take-a-way, hey, hey, woo, woo..." A simple, but effective chant that is a fan favorite at their shows. It's because there's a niche especially reserved for good, CHEAP Chinese food, the fulfillment of which is inherently satisfying (and maybe all the more so when the risk of disaster is not fulfilled). Let me be even more clear, this is NOT great Chinese food, and it therefore fits the niche. However, I have never seen an establishment get more 100% / A ratings from the local board of health. Based on my first visit, and the other reviews here, I believe I've finally filled that niche as a Louisville resident although it took a while. Yes, there are classier Chinese restaurants in the town, but then they don't fit the bill of which The Adicts hooted and hollered. This strip mall location is classic Chinese Takeaway. There are bright fluorescents, maybe four tables and a full menu. The environment is simple and harsh but this family run business is efficient and welcoming. They do have seating by the way, and although the majority of my visits have been takeaway, a party of four around 8:30 PM on a recent Thursday for a sit down meal. Several of us were vegetarians and had questions and the young woman behind the counter fielded one and all (in English), stopping to check with the cooks (in Chinese, presumably Mandarin). Most portions are available as a full dinner or a half-portion. I ordered a full dinner of Kung Pao Chicken and a "small" Hot and Sour Soup. What I got lasted four meals! A huge plate of rice and enough KP Chicken for me and my roommate to have two full meals each. The "small" soup was a pint size--all of which cost me 11 dollars and change. This was typical Chinese fare done well and not overly greasy. I recommend Double Dragon for anyone in the Highlands or Germantown/Schnitzelberg areas.

Perfectly passable affordable, edible, quick Chinese food. I was sad the first time I ordered some crab rangoon and didn't get sweet & sour sauce with it. But it is convenient and pretty good.

My favorite takeout Chinese in Louisville. I found my dish here many years ago and it's Hunan Beef with no corn and SPICY! I actually crave it on occasion. My recommendation here is find a dish you like and stick with it! You can expect your food to be ready in ten minutes. I normally place my order there and go pick up a couple things next door at Kroger.

This spot is your standard take out Chinese food. The menu is the same generic Chinese food menu you have seen a few thousands times. I will say that I know a few people who swear this is the best takeout Chinese food place around, but honestly I don't see it. I'm sure it is all in what you order. I always order the Bean Curd Szechuan Style and it is a ton of food...but again taste the same everywhere. It's close to my house so I will go again, but for yummier Chinese food I would pick somewhere else (maybe Cafe Mimosa). Also I should add that although I have never had anyone be rude to me at Double Dragon, they did yell at my fiance once over the phone and told him "YOU CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE!". I guess he was placing a difficult order :)

The best crab rangoons in town, especially for those who prefer a lighter, more crabby wonton, and less cream cheesiness.

Good, cheap, fast Chinese food. I ordered the sesame chicken, not hot. It was great. I love a good order of sesame chicken. The dining room leaves a little to be desired, but the amount of food for $4.50 makes it worth the trip.

We've been picking up carryout here for years and years. The food is generally good, of consistent quality, and inexpensive. The big portions guarantee leftovers. The broccoli with garlic sauce is always dependably tasty, the cold sesame noodles are usually good (sometimes the peanut sauce is better than on other times) and the Kung Po chicken is virtually always very good. We mostly avoid anything deep fried, though a member of the family does like the crab rangoon. However, I've had somewhat soggy sesame chicken (General Tso's) in the past. I wish they had spicy green beans on the menu and one vegetarian family member wants additional tofu choices.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
