This is a chain so I do not like to comment specifically on most chains. I do however comment on store and staff and this location is always clean and the staff is very friendly.

I killed 2 flies sitting at my table, I know I'm a big meanie. But they wanted in on my Chicken Tenderloins (nay chicken fingers) and mac'n'cheese. The highlight of the meal were the biscuits and cornbread. Oh, and dinner for 4 (drinking water) less than $40. Safe to say this meal was my first, last and only at any Cracker Barrel.

Obviously when you hear Cracker Barrel, you think down home cooking. For a chain restaurant, you expect decent food, good price and helpful service - nothing too much. With that in mind, Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant with very good prices, quality food but just okay service. I have never been disappointed with the food for the price herr but the service is always a train wreck. However, I hardly say, "man, let's go to Cracker Barrel." This time I met a friend for brunch. I had a breakfast sandwich with hashbrown casserole. I added a side of bacon to add to my sandwich and figured why not have biscuits and gravy. This was the first time I had their gravy. Disappoint is an understatement. The gravy was extremely plain. Luckily the biscuits saved what could have been a bad experience. I added a to go order on my way out. For brunch with additional sides and a lunch salad to go, it was under 20$. Good price for the food. Just do not expect anything grand.

I don't know why I keep torturing myself by coming to this establishment food is meh, service is atrocious (our server was belching between words and literally looked like she went to the back and dumped her head in grease). They have two guys with ties on (I guess that means they are mgmt) whatever. They just stood around pretending to be wardens without a cause. When our slop (yeah I went there) finally arrived to the table the server immediately gave me the ticket and belched out the alphabet.... LOL just kidding. No she said the usual "oh no rush" however 10 mins later she came over (this is no joke) she put her finger ON my plate and said "you done with that?" Um yeah I guess I am now. We all stopped eating at that point. Apparently she was counting the seconds down for us to leave as soon as we were seated. She huddled by the kitchen with her mgr. arms flying, both of them glaring at us, other servers stopping to hear what they are talking about so the stop and stare too. At one point there were 4 people crammed in that little space. Next thing you know another server who I saw in the huddle who when her arms flew up like well hell I will take over (as if we had been there for hours) came over said give me your ticket I'm switching it out because if you don't check out she can't leave so she is waiting for you to leave. I literally wanted to flip a table like a New Jersey housewife but I didn't. LOL she took the ticket and I said well sorry to be such an inconvenience. And she didn't say anything she seriously walked away back to the mgr in the huddle. I grabbed the ticket and said lets go. I felt bad because J was mid pancake munch. But stick a fork in me I was done. I glared at the mgr as I left and nothing. I paid my ticket and because I'm not a horrible person I like an idiot left a tip of $4. This is the first time J said to me ... Why on earth would you tip? I said I just don't feel right not tipping I can't help it. Needless to say I'm sure I left details out. All I know for certain is... I will NEVER eat there again. I will NEVER recommend someone eat there. Cracker Barrel use to be my favorite place to eat but I have watched it take a drastic downward slope and at this point for me it's flatlined. I'm done (mic drop)

This is a great chain to stop in for breakfast, they serve it at all hours. I think the burgers and sandwiches are better than a Dennys, iHop, Waffle House or most other chain diners. I rarely get the dinners. If your looking for choices, want a homey country feel with a roaring fireplace you will like this chain more than many generic choices out there. Nothing spectacular, not bad a little bit better than ordinary and a little more interesting. I do like the country store vibe going on in the lobby. Buy old fashioned candy, soda from the 40s 50s and other treats. There is also seasonal mix of gifts, clothing toys and music you wouldn't ever think to purchase unless you're road weary and susceptible to impulse buying. Generally clean, noisy when busy and a bit slow. One criticism, the chairs are consistently bad and hard. The last thing you want when you're been out driving all day or worn out from a day of shopping or working the family farm. They do sell great porch rocking chairs and pew benches.

Had a quick stop to grab a bite. Food was ok they were super busy. Server Jessica was very nice & efficient. Smallest baked sweet potato ever served was almost microscopic! The Apple dumpling isn't an Apple dumpling at all but is a poorly constructed strussel pie very sweet to the point of over kill, didn't finish it & after a bite no one else wanted another.

We stopped in today after a long car ride home with some tired and hungry kids. Our overall experience was not very good. It started out with a longer than advertised wait time to get seated (40 minutes instead of 20) and continued with being told that they were out of dumplings, out of white gravy and out of biscuits. They were obviously short on staff and when the food finally came out, it was cold and the potatoes were hardened. With all of the above problems you may be wondering why 4 stars. That's because when we talked to the manager, she apologized and offered to re-cook any of our orders. We weren't interested in that because we were ready to get home but she did comp our entire meal for us. Also, we've been to this location on many occasions and have always come away satisfied. So, all in all, we're pleased with this store and will be back.

Service was good. The biscuits were really good but I didn't ask for cornbread and DAMN they gave us a lot.

We frequently visit this place and it's ok I guess....my daughter loves the cooked carrots, and grilled chicken. I like the pot roast and oven fried chicken.

There are better places for breakfast in Louisville, but sometimes an old standby just can't be beat. Example? When you end up at White Castle at 2:00am when you KNOW how terrible it is, and you go anyway. I enjoy their french toast and their hash brown casserole. It's reasonably priced, but be sure to be prepared to wait if you get there any later than 10:30 on a weekend morning. This would be good for groups or picky eaters, since their menu is fairly broad.

If you have a craving for Cracker Barrel or want to try something new, I would advise going to a different location. As far as appearance, the store looks clean and regular maintenanced. The food and management, however, is not up to par. I have been to this location twice. The first instance, I waited 45 minutes for a to-go order that came out looking like someone tossed the container around. Of course, I was very upset. I very rarely complain but this time I could not bite my tongue. I asked to speak to a manager, again was left waiting. After another ten minutes or so the cashier apologized and took my information so that I could later be reinversed. I never received an apology from management for my extremely unsatisfactory visit. The second time around, food came out on time but was over cooked and over seasoned. Needless to say... I will no longer be giving them my business.
