I stopped in last night despite the many terrible reviews, since this is the closest Chipotle to me. I'd gotten the new vegan sofritas the month before during a promotional day, so I was coming in to claim my free burrito for trying it out. I waited about 5 minutes in line, which wasn't bad at all at peak dinner time on a weekend. Each staff member was friendly, and I quickly got my veggie burrito bowl, some guacamole and chips, and a soda. I figured only the main part of my meal was going to be comped with the promotion, but they gave me everything for free! Definitely a nice surprise. The guacamole was some of the best I've ever had at Chipotle, chips were perfectly crisp and salted, and my burrito bowl was hot and just the right amount of full to keep from spilling over too much. I didn't see anyone skimping on toppings or anything run out, and one of the guys on the line notified the cook about rice and peppers running low. Love that there's easy parking at this location. I will definitely be back.

More like 2.5 stars. It's really not that great. A burrito bowl with steak. The steak was fatty and tough. The food caused me to race home, kick in my front door, and get to my bathroom as soon as I possibly could. Wasn't good. Wasn't good at all. I'll only go back if someone insists that we go. I'd rather eat at McDonald's.

I decided to try Chipolte. Whoopy Dooo! I'm going to stick with Q'doba. I ordered the crispy tacos. Two chicken one steak. Not really impressed. Ask me if I miss the Arby's. Yeah. The tacos were really short on meat. Talking four to five pieces. Seriously I'm a grown man if I wanted the children's portion I would expect a toy with my meal. Plus they have no queso. Let me state this again NO QUESO! I give this a nope. I will say they are really friendly and the crispy taco shell was better than Q'doba. But the missing meat and no queso sealed the deal.

Generally, I like Chipotle. And it's nice to have one on this popular stretch of Bardstown Road, but this Chipotle, is just fair at best. I'm not sure what it was really, but something was missing, and I came away feeling that Qdoba is better and really just down the road, so if I were looking for that Cali Mexican style, I'd likely just go there instead. And if I'm really looking for something better, I'll go to Taco Luchador, because who doesn't like Mexican wrestlers and restaurants named after them?

Okay....I have to write an update because what I saw today made me gasp out loud there. A girl who works there was evidently on break (but behind the counter )because she wasn't wear gloves and was drinking a soda and eating chips out of the bin that they bag for customers...ewww

I don't get all the hate for this Chipotle. I've been three times this year - once in January, once in February, and once in March. The employees have been courteous, friendly, and accommodating and the quality of the food has been consistently high. The first trip was during the Sofritas promotion and they were out of almost everything I wanted. I gave them a pass since it was late and they had obviously been slammed since people will do anything for what essentially amounts to two half price burritos. Since then, the food quality has been pleasantly consistent. I do not eat the meat options and am unable to comment on those. That said, each time I've been, the fajita vegetables were just coming off the grill and absolutely delicious. I also appreciate the brown rice option and the fact that the vegetable entrees include guacamole in the price! While Chipotle is obviously not akin to El Taco Luchador, it's a solid option for anyone looking to get a quick and tasty meal with easily discernable nutrition information.

Awesome service! The food we get is always great, but the best part is the service. The awesome individuals that work here make ordering easy and are efficient and energetic. We appreciate you all! Thanks for great food and awesome service. Keep it up, and know you are appreciated! I had a large order and the young lady that helped me was so efficient and on top of it. Everything in my order was correct! I wish I knew her name so I could give her a shout out, because she was awesome. We have been to this location quite a bit and the service and food is always great and consistent. Thanks you all!

I'm from Ohio and we love our chipotle. Unfortunately, the chipotle here doesn't come close to what I'm used to. I've been a few times hoping the quality would improve. Today's visit I was surprised with a burrito bowel with no rice. Yummy...I'll save chipotle for trips home.

"Horrible service" This was the first time I had ever stepped foot inside a chipotle. It will probably be my last. I was impressed with the design of the store and easy to read menu. From there all good impressions ended. I arrived about 12 min before close so I'm aware that some corners may be cut due to the impending closing time. There were 3 associates working. One guy cleaning the grill and two girls working the food line. Both girls were talking about things other than food to I'm sure friends of theirs. Myself and my girlfriend stood there for no longer than 7 minutes without even eye contact from any associate. One girl was even standing at the register and I didn't see her ring anybody up the whole time. We got frustrated and left. Just a simple "we will be with you in one moment" would have prevented this whole thing. Won't come back to this location again.

Hello, I've eat Mexican food for the last 30 years, all over the U.S. and Mexico. This is the worst excuse for Mexican or Tex/Mex food I've ever eaten in my life. My food was cold, like they were trying to save on their utility bill, but it didn't get any better, only worst. High priced, no taste, watery, cold (A Big Mac and fries would have been better).

Food is really good. Staff is friendly and helpful. I have to admit, though, I was surprised when he told me my total. It's kind of expensive. The layout of the dining room is weird, but they do have outdoor seating. It's one of the better people watching places in The Highlands

Very friendly service! Arrived on opening day with high expectations and was not let down. Everyone was very friendly, and not in that cheesy fake manner. My burrito was prepared professionally and promptly, seemingly rookie free. Awesome seating outside in either the sun or covered shade, bar seats along the windows good for people watching, or larger tables if you're with a group. Really excited to finally have a chipotle in the highlands. Hopefully they keep up with the great customer service; as for the food I have no doubts that it would ever decline in quality. I JUST HOPE THEY DECIDE TO STAY OPEN LATE ON WEEKENDS!!!!

I finally got to try Chipotle out and I like it! It's very similar to Qdoba except I think chipotle is more generous with their portion. I had the chicken burrito and my husband had the chicken bowl. It seemed like we can tell them to add anything we want in the bowl and the price would still be the same for the chicken bowl. I really like their chicken, moist and flavorful, and all the ingredients tasted fresh! Definitely will come back for more!

Love love love Chipotle! This location is wonderful and the food is delicious. The employees were quick and attentive. No complaints. I don't understand at all why there are so many negative reviews; do yourself a favor and come here.

I don't know why I keep coming back. I've been here several times since they've opened and every single time the service has been awful. it's way more conversation among the employees than food preparation. heaven forbid you should ask for a quesadilla in the adult size. They will make it for you but all it has on it is cheese and if you ask for anything else on they charge you the same as a burrito. Which is no big deal so why not just put it on the menu? This visit was the last straw. I'm going to turn left instead of right on Bardstown Road and go to Qdoba from now on. Ciao chipotle. You won't be missed.

Uh, some of these reviews seem kind of ridiculous. Food is great. Service could use some improvement. It's always busy, so I'm guessing most are able to look past the the sub-par service.

You can never go wrong with Chipotle! Food is consistently the same and this location does a good job of making sure meats and grilled veggies are fresh. Only reason this location gets a 4 is the service can be very hit or miss, really depends what crew is there.

  • Robert Y.

So if you get 1 chicken burrito and 1 steak burrito you get charged for 1 steak and 1 chicken. If they put half steak and half chicken in 2 burritos you get charged for 2 steak burritos. Sounds kind of like a rip off to me. I guess next time ill get 1 of each if i go back.

I was excited to see a Chipotle's in the Highlands, since it's a close walk for me. We finally got a chance to go, after it's been open for a little bit. There was a long line. The staff got through it in a reasonable time, and they were friendly enough. I planned on ordering a bowl, since the bowls looked rather large & I was hungry. The woman in front of me ordered one though, and I saw they barely put anything in it- it ended up only about half as full as it could reasonably have been, so I ordered a burrito. There aren't near as many options as you have at Moe's or QDoba, but it turned out ok. The outdoor seating was nice. The indoor layout of the dining room is just bad. It looks nice, but the layout is awful. We had planned on ordering our food, finding a table & my son was going to wash his hands. That's when we found out the restrooms have these security locks on them like you find on accounting room or office doors. You need some code- and the place was so busy he couldn't get anyone's attention to get the code, and the line was way too long to go through again just for it. It's a mediocre option in the midst of far too many above average options. We probably won't be back.

I go to this Chipotle the most, as it is close to my work. The location is the newest, and therefore still in pristine condition. The burrito bowl is my go to lunch choice. The food always tastes fresh and delicious. The wait staff is hit and miss. Sometimes they are on it, and sometimes it feels like I'm talking to someone on their first day and has no clue what to do. Go early if you want fast service. The place is packed by noon, and stays that way into the afternoon.

Need more people on the line to make food for customers. There were only 2 on a very busy Sunday afternoon- tons of people waiting, not a lot of people eating.

This location is under staffed and has a problem staying on task. With it being in one of the busiest locations in the city you would think they would be prepared for high traffic, but they are not in terms of staffing and having products ready and available. They are always out of steak and chicken, which creates a huge delay in delivering the completion of your order. They lack communication skills, they allow customers to wait in lengthy lines without explaination that they are in fact out of steak and chicken. Once you get to the point of ordering, there is always a cluster of a mess because there are usually two people working the line making your order. They are rude, sloppy and do not listen to requests. When you repeat yourself they give attitude. Each time I have been, there has been a ridiculous wait, lack of communication and rude behaviors. They skimp on meat and toppings even if you ask for extra. If you get something to go, they half way package it up, therefore leaving a potential mess. If you ask them to package it better, they roll their eyes and give attitude. Qdoba is by far better in terms of quality, process, communication and delivery of product. Get it together otherwise you will not make it in the Highlands location!

The reviews for this location baffle me. I've been here more times than I can count on both hands and have ALWAYS received great service. By the way, if you want more in your burrito bowl, simply ask for more. They don't charge extra for things like rice, beans, salsa, and cheese. I am a Chipotle fanatic. I've been to many locations multiple times, and this location has the best, most consistent food out of any other location I've frequented.

I'm revising my review of this location because their service and product have notably improved since my last review. I had complained about poor attitude from the staff. I've since given them several visits and received pretty good service. No complaints there. Same goes for the food. I had complained about lukewarm, soggy burritos and bowls, and sometimes botched orders with no desire to fix them. No such problems anymore. I think they've hit their stride and they're doing their thing well. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is because I've had better burritos elsewhere, but I don't have any complaints about this Chipotle location anymore.

My favorite location!!! I work closer to the down town location but love this one so much more. The staff is always SOOOO courteous and my food is perfect. If I don't like something I ask for it the way I like it and have NEVER gotten attitude about it. I probably spend WAY too much money here but it's worth it, especially since they almost always know my order when I walk in the door. The food quality is WAY better than Qdoba and since Chipotle has come to Louisville, I haven't been to Qdoba once. Yes, I know they don't have queso but I haven't missed it. I am completely a Chipotle-aholic!!!!!

Super skimpy on anything you get here. Would barely give me any rice, hardly any fajitas as well? Glad I was just stopping in from out of town and this is not my local chipotle location! Also tried to Charge me for a large drink when I asked for a cup! Will not be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
