Overall good food and service, recommend the tacos. Ordered three tacos. Carnita, barbacoa, and fish. The fish taco was the best. The other two were tasty. There was salsa bar with 4 types. Verde was my fave. My lover ordered nachos...big mistake. The sour cream was gross and the guacamole was weird. The beef mixed in was good but was hard to enjoy with clumps of mediocre black beans.

This isn't for this particular site its for the new one in mid city mall in the highlands. we ordered a shrimp taco and a big burrito plus a taquito and a beer. Well we wanted to give it a try and very much regretted it. The food was sub par and tiny portions ..the taquitos were SO tiny and tasted like nothing.. the Burrito tasted like wet cardboard and they screwed up my wife's order as well. All and all I'm never walking into another one in any location.

This is my favorite tex mex joint in Louisville. I always get the "burrito especial" with cheese! It's a great combination. I highly recommend this great hole in the wall place for anyone searching for a large burrito or great tacos!

I really don't understand what people see in this place. I've tried it a few times because I've heard people rave about the fish tacos. The first time I got grilled fish tacos. They were bland.. Super bland! And beans. SUPER bland. Okay, I tried to find redemption by dumping some sauce on them.. I swear to god every sauce was bland, it varied in levels of spice but it was just "hot" with no trace of other spice. I really like fish tacos so I thought maybe I came on a bad day. So I tried again, now got a grilled and fried fish taco and the grilled was the same as before, and the fried was so soggy the coating was sliding off the fish.. I don't get it. How is this food so bland, and why do I feel like I'm the only one who tastes it?!

Bazo's does some things ordinary and some things great. The tacos are all quality, especially the Baja Fish (perhaps the best in town) and the Carnitas Taco. Although some dishes don't seem to work, there is not doubt that there is a freshness to the flavor that can't be found at Q-Doba or Moe's.

If you like fish or shrimp tacos, this is the place to go. Their seafood tacos are delicious: fresh, well spiced, and accompanied by delicious sauce, fresh cabbage, onions, and tomatoes. This is probably my favorite cheap eats in Louisville. Very underrated!

Bazo's has the best fish tacos ever. I like to get the 2-taco combo (grilled fish +shrimp) plus a Corona. All for less than $10. The corn tortillas are really delicate and the sauce is delicious. I have been there many times. Always great. Much better than El Mundo's, and cheaper.

Yummy. I love fish tacos and they have a one, two, or three taco meal that comes with chips. The chips were a little on the greasy side but I like that I can go to the salsa bar and get what I want or mix them up. They also had a few extra toppings on the salsa bar when I was there. I ordered the three taco meal with the fish prepared in 3 different ways. I liked all of them but the traditional was my favorite. It is a good "quick eat" and for a decent price too. Right at $8 I believe. Oh and the tacos are a decent size. I have noticed at a few other places that specialize in tacos - in more "hip" areas of town that the tacos cost the same but are about half the size. No quiero! When I am hangry - don't leave me wanting more! Feed me Seymour!!! ;)

No gluten free peeps reviewed this place yet? Jeez! They do offer a pretty decent gluten free menu-for those of you who want quesdilla and you are too lazy to make one-this would be the place to go. Salsa is lacking for me here-not much flavor. I like it SPICY and their hottest wasn't hot. Their nachoes are ok-the chips have a lime/salt flavor. If you are looking for a cheap-quick gluten free fix head to one of the Bazo's.

The grilled fish tacos were outstanding. There's a nice selection of salsas at the bar and everything was tasty. I wish it was a little cleaner inside, but we were on the tail end of a busy lunch and the service was pretty quick.

Worst experience ever. The staff was unfriendly didn't greet us, we waited 40 min plus for a quesadilla. The food was good the the service made it unbearable. I won't be back

Well, thought this might be a new addition to our places to eat...But it really didn't do anything for me. The Guacamole was OK at best (I make better myself!) This location is also near a Moe's and a Qdoba, both of which I would eat at before Bazo's. I really wanted it to be good, it just wasn't. The staff however was VERY Nice and friendly!

I used to like this place a year ago but it's gone down hill. What happened Bazo, you were my secret memory of the west cost. What happened is that they cheapened their product and stop putting love into it. The owner and family don't run the place anymore. Now it's hired help who don't really know how to cook or serve. I got a bad stomach ache the last time I went. Probably not going to go back.

I drive by Bazo's a lot on my way to Skyline and always think that I should stop in there sometime. I dropped by a couple weeks ago and I was fairly impressed. My date and I both ordered the two taco meal; I got the fish taco and barbacoa taco along with a Mexican coke. He ordered a shrimp taco and something else. Both meals were served with tortilla chips and they had a variety of salsas available. Generally I love Chiptole and Qdoba but I always wished you could get smaller burritos and chips like you get at Moe's. that being said, I hate Moe's burritos. Bazo's is a nice compromise. And they also have the nutrition facts listed on their site so if you want to make healthier choices you can. I can't remember exactly but they might've been listed on their store menu too. Both of us at for less than $20 and left feeling comfortably full so I was happy!

AWESOME! Everything fresh and just plain good! The chicken and fish taco's is what my wife and I had and they were plain just good! Qdoba & Moe's had defiantly better watch out cause there is another Southwest Grill in DaVille!

Bland pseudo-Mexican food. Some people rave about this place; why, I have no clue. It's only redeeming feature is a small salsa bar which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. Go to Chuy's for better food.

I love the chicken taco salad here and the portions are huge for the cost. I have yet to totally finish it (either a snack or another lunch). The taco combos are also really good and I often split that with co-workers. The fish ones are pretty tasty as are the shrimp ones. The chicken are just like any tex-mex place, tasty but best with some of that sauce. All of these options are less than 10 bucks. And I like that they have a bar of all the sauces and anything you want to try. We always get it to go and they are prompt each time.

We enjoyed our meals on a Saturday afternoon. Kids meals were very large in size and great tasting. Service was wonderful and quick. Order at the counter and delivered to your table. Restaurant a little dirty, but restrooms clean.

Bazo's is awesome! Always fresh and always delcious! They have some of the best fish tacos and their staff is always so polite & cheerful! If you are a fan of Qdoba or Moe's, you should definetly give Bazo's a shot. Make sure you check out the Baja Fish Tacos...I promise you'll be back within a few days to get more!

If you are a fan of Moe's or Qdoba then you have to try Bazo's. It is basically the same fresh mex concept as Moe's and the Q, but I feel like the taste of Bazo's is better. I really enjoy the chicken, great grilled flavor. Another thing that I prefer is the salsa. Moe's has a larger variety but Bazo's taste easily beats Moe's. I enjoy going to these type of restaurants but tend to get burnt out. This was a great new taste with a similiar menu and concept. I go to the location on Dutchmans where the Ice Cream Factory used to be. Great food and great service, I will definitely be back!!

I would second Jason R.'s assessment that Bazo's food is better than either Moe's or Qdoba. If fact, it is probably on par with some of the better sit-down Mexican restaurants in town, but without the expense. I have always found the restaurant to be clean and the staff to be cheerful, helpful and fast. I also think they have improved with each subsequent visit. If you have a craving for really fresh Mexican food, you won't go wrong by stopping in at Bazo's. I have also reviewed this restaurant on my blog at ourserendip.com/WPBlog/?…

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
