Few things you should know (disclaimers): 1) grew up in super small town northern Idaho 2) love locals bars 3) equally love the Cheers Effect (think 'hey Norm!') 4) have a small hankering for bar staple foods 5) any place that has TouchTunes jukebox control is worth it 6) this establishment only accepts CASH 7) but for good reason 8) they do have an ATM 9) meet Kim and her family at the bar. 10) say hi to the Mayor 11) tell Reggie hello 12) tip Lisa heavy cause she's worth it 13) tell Justin to keep being so polite to patrons and minding the Warden.

Rose & Jim's is a mellow dive bar. It was relatively busy and Sari and I were the only strangers in the place but we were welcomed as soon as we walked in. We sat at the bar and ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were tasty and juicy and the fries were perfect. (The burgers are dressed with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and mayo if you don't customize.) There's plenty of outdoor seating, corn hole games, and pool tables. The bartenders are super, it's clean (restrooms too, Heather) and they scored 100 on their health inspection. If you like great bar food (there's more than burgers on the menu), and having a beverage with other friendly people, be sure to drop in at Rose and Jim's.

The food is good pub food, burgers and fries, & such, but he people here are what made my day today. The owner is a really kind hearted person. I pass this place often and decided to call in an order on my way back to work today. Once I arrived I found that they didn't take credit cards. This was dumb on my part for not preparing cash when going to such an establishment, but I didn't. They had an ATM however, I just got a new card so, I didn't know the pin. I explained how sorry I was that I ordered something and could not pay for it and went to leave and the owner stopped me on the way out and told me that she could not let me leave without my food and told me to pay her next time I was back that way. This was 1st time this woman had ever even laid eyes on me & there is no way that she can know that I will bring money in to pay her, but she let me leave with the food. I will be going by there in the tomorrow & I plan to pay her double for the food. As I said, she has no idea even if I will ever pay her back or not this just made my already pretty pleasant day even better.

If your looking for a good local dive bar, this is the place! Heard good things from the locals so decided to check it out. Wasn't disappointed. Good food and friendly people. Came for lunch so it wasn't busy yet. Can't wait to come back for a peak hour experience! *cash only

Don't let the rough exterior scare you off; the crowd here is much more likely to talk your leg off than hit you with a beer bottle. Always busy, but have no problem getting drinks or a good story to tell when we get home. They serve great pub food here. Great outdoor area as well. The downside, they only take cash, no debit/credit cards.

I ate here tonight for the first time and I'll go back if I'm ever in Lexington again. The people were extremely friendly even though I was the only non regular in the place. The food was good, I had a cheeseburger and the deep fried green beans...try the deep fried green beans they are really good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they don't take credit cards but they have an ATM so if you don't have cash you don't have to leave to get some. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed.
