I LOVE Puccini's. They have good prices, delicious food and lots of gluten-free choices. Everything I have had has been great!

Great menu, yummy food. Lots of gluten-free options, too. We had pizzas and the spinach artichoke appetizer. All were very tasty and just what we needed after a long drive in from NC. Cute art on the walls and friendly service. Top choice if I ever visit this area again.

Called ahead for a large group on a Friday night and they had everything ready! Awesome job! Friendly staff and great food.

Great Food! We love the pizza and the service is amazing! The staff is very accommodating. My wife and I got a half and half pizza her half was the Bama Jam and my half the Bill. Even though2 very different pizza's they both were wonderful. Great kids menu as well. Probably one of the best pizza restaurants in Lexington

As long as I have been in Lexington and as much as I go out to eat not sure how I have left this off my list. I did grow up on LaRosa's in Cin so that might have kept me away. Any who, I have been craving some good Italian and not the fancy style like most around here. So I gave Joe B's a try, nope, then I tried here. Hooked, you got me and my business. This nights meal was very good, I will be back.

We aren't certain why this location has not received consistent five stars? My profession is restaurants (6 locally-owned in another state, from fine dining multi-course artful cuisine to gastropubs). Puccini's Chevy Chase is our favorite place in Lexington. Jeremy is an absolutely wonderful server and extraordinary guide to the menu. Ask for him! No, of course, it's not The French Laundry or Charlie Trotter's. But we can't understand what other reviewers missed, when the calzones are the best we've had outside NY or NJ (don't miss the Queen of Hearts, if you love artichokes and acidity, and have a glass of Sauv Blanc with it). For pizzas, try the Campfire (really tastes like a campfire smells, but you may want to add a little jalapeño for "bite" because the onion marmalade is a little bit sweet). Great choices include the Razorback for carnivores, Twice-Baked (imagine a twice-baked potato), and the classic Margherita. If you read the rest of the reviews, you might or might not come here. Not sure what people wanted -- Pizza Hut? But if you want great food, good service, good value, and an easy, relaxed atmosphere, DON'T MISS Puccini's Chevy Chase location.

Their pizza is delicious!!! The crust is crunchy and the toppings are always plentiful. The spinach ravioli with diavolo sauce is a pot head's dream come true. For those going gluten free they have an extensive wheat free menu. Tonight I'm trying gluten free pasta with shrimp and diavolo sauce.

I only tried the pizza. The crust was crisp and had a healthy snap. It came to the table hot, and the sauce and cheese made a good flavor together. Sometimes a pizzeria will do one right but ruin the other one and it kills the whole pie. It tasted like good Italian, as far as I was concerned.

I do not know how I would survive without the Campfire Pizza on a regular basis.

Tried out the one in Chevy Chase. It's one of those places that could be the go to place for inexpensive comfort food, and may be that for us, but doesn't hit all the right points. Pizza's ok. Better than most other average places. But nothing stands out. Humble Pie was fine. Bread like crust. Ok sauce. Restaurant has that down home feel to it. No real beer list to speak of - except some West Sixth cans. For me, I can take the average pizza, but throw in a solid beer list! Enough with Blue Moon and Stella. People can get that anywhere! Beer Trappe is right around the corner. Compliment what they are doing with a nice list.

I don't know what it is about this place but i love coming here. I always get the artichoke sandwich. My husband likes their calzones. The service is good. Check out this hidden little pizza place when you are in Chevy Chase.

Most of the time, thin-crusted pizza and I don't get along. Puccini's pizzas are of the same style of crust as California Pizza Kitchen, and if you like CPK, cool. But I have to say, for thin crust, this isn't bad. The crust was flavorful, the sauce didn't leave anything to be desired. Using a combiation of traditional toppings and venturing outside those traditional toppigs, Puccini's has found a niche in Lexington. That niche being one of the few pizza places in this city that can claim some sense of originality. Wherever I go, if I want pizza, the chains are the last resort for me. I like the flavor of the region to be included in what I am eating. And Puccini's is very much Kentucky. It is what it is. Not really east, not really south, not really midwest. Puccini's has found a way to take that and run with it. BTW, the bar 20 pizza is phenomenal. And go with the Greek salad here. To. Die. For. One request. It's 2010. It's the 21st century. Let's lose the styrofoam packaging already.

Our family really enjoys dining at Puccini's Smiling Teeth. One of our favorite menu selections is the Baked Roman Holiday (chicken). The savory flavors and portions are plentiful. Salads are extra crisp and homemade dressings are an indulgent.

Great food, cheap prices. The lunch portions for pasta are a little small, but they are generally good. I would suggest the Diablo Shrimp with Linguini. The desserts are also suprising good, especially the Chocolate Cake and the Tiramisu. The appetizers are all some variation of Garlic Bread which kind of sucks but overall this place is awesome.

I hate to give two stars but my experience tonight was unacceptable. When I showed up with my kids and another family for dinner the hostess refused to seat us or even put us on a waiting list. Her exact words were, "we don't have room for you". There were empty tables in the restaurant and she wouldn't even entertain the idea of helping us. The pizza is awesome so it is really disappointing the service doesn't measure up to the same standard. We ended up at the manger next door. Good food and service!

The best pizza is the 'King of Hearts'. Good for carry out. The dress and appearance of some of the employees is unprofessional and can even be a bit off putting. Some are way too grungy with multiple piercings, tattoos, unnatural dyed hair colors, t-shirts and torn jeans. Not too appealing to see while dining in, so I recommend carry out.

Since my last review, I've visited another time or two and have received the same great service as before. The dining area was clean and well kept, and great for kids as well. I had a "Meatball Heaven" calzone, and it was absolutely awesome. Piping hot, the steam was rolling off when it was brought to the table and the wait staff kept on top of drink refills. I'm normally pretty tight on tipping, but they definately earned a good tip this time. Thumbs up, I'll be back!

I came here as an out-of-towner for the Horse Capital Marathon, I thought I was going to a decent Italian restaurant in Lexington. I have to say, I'm sure there are better Italian restaurants out there. This is a more family style restaurant and there is no bar and I'd consider Puccini's a good place for taking the kids out for pizza. As I walked around Chevy Chase afterward, I was kicking myself because there are better restaurants within walking distance. I tried the chicken fettuccini dish, which was reasonably priced, but it was average at best. It came with a salad and garlic bread, which was only three small pieces. I needed more bread, but found and they charge extra for getting more. The service was unacceptable. The server did not clear my plates as my salad bowl wasn't cleared even after I finished my main entre. As a matter of fact, nothing was cleared when I left. I didn't even get a water refill nor did I get asked if I wanted anything else. She simply gave me my check when I finished my pasta.

I have heard (and read) several good reviews in the past about Puccini's pizza but had never tried it until tonight. I ordered a medium 'Sweet Little Razorback' which consists of pepperoni, smoked sausage, bacon, with basil and garlic. The toppings were plentiful and certainly tasty but with any pizza, the crust is the foundation that brings it all together. I must admit that I was somewhat surprised that the crust was mediocre and unremarkable at best. Simply put, I wish it had been better. But it is what it is. Bland and somewhat chewy. So the next time I return to Puccini's I'll stick with ordering the Chicken Piccata pasta or the Sicilian Sausage sandwich. I'll reserve my pizza orders for other establishments in town.

The service was excellent. The food was pretty awful. I got the campfire based on someone else's review. It said it had sausage and an onion chutney on it. The sausage was a nasty hot dog cut up. The onion was basically sugar with a bit of onion flavor. It was sweet and disgusting. The bread that came with my dinner companions pasta was a flavorless carb bomb. I will go back and try something else but I was so not impressed.

Puccini's is a down-home red sauce Italian-American joint out of the New Jersey mold. All the standards are there: linguine with clams (red or white), penne with vodka sauce, calzones and pizza, etc. They're all relatively well done and best-in-state (though a touch below the East Coast standard), with certain dishes standing out (like their amazing garlic bread). Portions are large and prices are relatively low. The ambiance is certainly family oriented, with the welcome area decorated by the scribbles of their many kid patrons and children playing happily around the tables of their families. Not the place you would necessarily have a intimate personal moment, but if you want that kind of date you can head to a more upscale after-dinner lounge. Recommended.

I can't say enough about the service...excellent outstanding amazing!!! I had a graduation party on Friday night and pre-planned everything with Matt. When we all arrived everything was perfect from the service to room set up to the amazing food! Thanks for a special night! We will continue to be "regulars"

I thought for the longest time that this place was a dentist's office. Can we please address the fact that this establishment is ridiculously named? I believe their tag line is something along the lines of "your teeth should be happier after eating here." Just, wtf? Ok, preposterous name aside, this place has horrible pizza that definitely does not make your teeth happy. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it made my teeth very UNhappy. The pizza tasted cheap, like the kind you get from the frozen section at Walmart and microwave at home. However, the breadsticks were what really perturbed me. I have never experienced such tasteless, doughy breadsticks in my life until now. I was not quite convinced that they had actually been baked - that's how pasty white and doughy they were. No amount of marina sauce could help these rolled up pieces of homemade play dough. Avoid.

Tasty food here! I love the pizza crust (not so thin that it's crispy, not so thick that it's bready) and the variety of toppings. The large size pizza is bigger than average. Last time we ordered 3 large for 7 people and had way too much food. If you're not in the mood for pizza (like when has that ever happened?) they also have tasty pastas. The service is always great whether you're dining in or picking up.

Puccini's is decent. I'm not a fan, however, of their pizzas because their pizza sauce has a weird, sweet taste to it in my opinion. Their salads are against decent but nothing special. To me, their calzones are where the menu does best. The sausage and gorganzole one is distinctive and tasty if you are in the mood for this somewhat odd combination.

This isn't a bad place. It's just mediocre. When my my wife and myself first went to Puccini's, we thought it was nice. It looked friendly and inviting. They had a wide variety of toppings on their pizza, including lots of odd and speciality pizzas. We went back a while later for a second time a few weeks later, and it just didn't keep us coming back for more. We've not found ourselves wanting to go back. One time recently we were driving by and ended up having a discussion about why we never seem to go back. We decided to go back, this time with a reviewer's mindset, to go there and see why the place we liked the first time. Our conclusion is this: Puccini's is better than large delivery chains like Pizza Hut or Dominos, but that's it. The crust is a thin and forgettable wafer, the sauce is sickly-sweet (we suspect lots of sugar is added, a common gimmick at low-end pizza places to make the pizzas more appealing to children), and they like to use unusual toppings like chorizo, onion marmalade, clams, or shrimp as a gimmick to make up for otherwise lackluster pizza. Lexington already has many excellent pizza places, and Puccini's just can't compete with the likes of Joe Bologna's, Mellow Mushroom, or even Old Chicago. It's better than delivery pizza and if you're right by there and hungry, it's not an inherently bad choice. However, if you're looking for quality pizza and other Italian food, I would recommend you keep on looking.

I've given this place way too many chances. They failed again tonight. 5 of us got there at 7:30, ordered in a reasonable amount of time. The server refilled drinks once before food arrived. Salads arrived just a bit before the entrees. Huge hunks of lettuce, not like it used to be - very hard to eat in the tiny bowl it came in. Food arrived piping hot. One pizza order was wrong. Some drinks were empty or had no ice by now. She never came back. We finished dinner, still needing refills, butter for the dry bread, nevermind getting to tell her it was the wrong pizza. We asked has to ask another server for butter, refills, and the check. He said there were only two servers working the floor. There are 5 people on the floor, and no argument they were not working. One was wrapping silverware. One was siting at a table adding up checks. Leaving 3 on their feet - and there were only 5 tables with customers. She finally rushes over, "So sorry she said, I'm really busy." I tell her wrong pizza. "Oh so sorry," she says again. I ask for the check. Takes way too long, get it and pay an hour and 15 min later. Last chance Puccinni. I've tried over half a dozen times, and every time, either wrong pizza and just 'oh I'm sorry' or the service SUCKS. Plus the crust is bland, the sauce is sickning sweet.

We shared a medium Sweet lil' Razorback pizza. The crust was perfect and the smoked sausage, pepperoni, and bacon plus herbs resulted in a great pizza. The dinner salad was crisp and fresh, and the ranch dressing had a homemade taste. Very good experience.

I don't tend to rate restaurants based on the type of people I see eating there, so I'll stick to my experience with the food. Also, I have not eaten at Chuck E Cheese since I was 9 so, I don't have that as a frame of reference either. And god forbid a restaurant be family oriented. :-P That being said, Puccini's makes some rather delicious pizza at pretty reasonable prices. I have eaten here any number of times as well as once or twice at their location in Beaumont Center. The specialty pizzas are creative and intriguing, with something for everyone, be you meat lover or vegetarian. I particularly recommend the Twice Baked, Shrimp Santori, or King of Hearts pizza. I also have to agree that the Diablo Shrimp pasta is extremely good. For lunch, check on the daily slice special, and for dinner, to save money, grab some friends and split a large pizza: my two roommates and I ate there the other night for under $30

Puccini's is a good family restaurant or a good place to go with a large group, I would not choose it for a date because the atmosphere is not private at all - it has a brightly lite and open floor plan and there might be a screaming toddler 2 feet away from you. The food is good, but not great - I like the pizzas and the calzones, but they wouldn't be my first choice among other local pizzerias. Still I would feel comfortable recommending this place to a broad range of people.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
