I've been eating at Cheddar's for years and have never had a bad experience. The food is insanely rich and delicious, the prices cannot be beat, and the staff is super friendly - Lexington may not be part of the true "South," but the servers here will call you sweetheart and treat you like family. I usually judge service by how many times your water glass is refilled, and at Cheddar's you are never thirsty. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is Loaded Baked Potato Soup, but I've also ordered and loved the Monte Cristo Sandwich, the Buffalo Chicken Wrapper, and the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad. Tip - make sure that with whatever you order you also get a side salad because they all come with a croissant that is TO DIE FOR. The sweet butter on the croissant is melt-in-your mouth amazing and the croissant is always perfectly light and crispy. Love special little touches like that, that make places like Cheddar's so special!

Good food. Usually its nice and quiet. Great place to actually talk to others instead playing on your phone. Its also nice when you have a kid with you. Portions are great for sharing that way everyone can get dessert!

Every time I eat at Cheddar's I have a similar experience - always a good one. Cheddar's is consistently cheap, tasty and quick. My wife and I went in today for our Sunday afternoon lunch expecting more of the same, and boy did we get it! My wife ordered their fried fish tacos with a side Caesar salad. The salad came out first, looked great, and was HUGE compared to side salads at most places. Plus it comes with a delicious flaky croissant drenched in honey butter. Delicious! My lunch portion of catfish was probably the largest lunch portion I've gotten anywhere, perfectly seasoned and grilled just how I like it. Don't let me forget to mention the broccoli cheese casserole... It's always a little different, but consistently delicious. Sometimes it's heavy on the cheese or will have rice, but it's always a good choice. Let me not forget to mention that both my and my wife's meal totaled to just under $20. That's crazy inexpensive. Overall, the whole experience left my wife saying, "Why don't we come here more often?"

Every time we leave this place I say "why don't we eat here more often?" it is definitely a step up from chain fern bars like Applebee's and tgif's. Tonight I tried the key west chicken and shrimp with an excellent pineapple salsa. It was very good and as usual the sides were great broccoli casserole especially. Other members of our party had chicken strips , potato soup, and salads. Our server Anthony was excellent and even comped 6 of those amazing croissants because he said they looked a little overcooked (they weren't) . I'm going back soon for the fish tacos...

If I could give Chedder's a zero star review, I would. First tip, Do not I repeat, DO NOT sit in the back, inside section of the restaurant. The most uncomfortable seats I've ever been in. A foot away from the table and you sit low (I'm 5'11 too). Took a group of 5 and started with the chips and queso appetizer - it came with an astonishing 10 chips and 1/2 broken. No problem we'll live although disappointing. However the burger I had was absolutely awful - hard bun on top, soggy on bottom and undercooked. Waitress was MIA and upon leaving the manager was "busy" so we left. Poor food, poor service = Find a new eating establishment.

This is one of the best places to eat in Lexington. It's casual, reasonably priced and the food is always hot and fresh. Everything is great! Service is hit and miss but we have had more good than bad experiences with service. This is my favorite place to eat!

We are fans of this low cost cafe where I can feed my family of five without breaking the bank. The men in my clan all order the Buffalo Chicken Wraps. They devour them and are stuffed because you get allot of food! Me, I go with the Chicken Pot Pie. It's not like my mothers, but it's good and I get that comfort food fix that I want. My youngest defaults to the kids menu and clears his plate. If you've not been give it a try.

Cheddars is my favorite restaurant but I believe that the one off of Man o war is wayyyyy better. I normally order the chicken finger platter, but I ordered the potato soup and club sandwich. My friend ordered the soup and house salad. Our soups took about 25 minutes to come out. Twenty five minutes. Soups. Drinks weren't refilled adequately, our drink was water. I noticed about 5 spoonful's in my soup that there was a tongue textured "tomato" inside of it (picture included). I told the server and it took about 10 minutes to get a manager, who said it was a tomato and asked me if I wanted more potato soup The price for the soup ($2.99) was removed from my bill. I was nice about it, but absolutely disgusted. I work in a restaurant and seriously no telling what's in Cheddars potato soup (soup is made in one huge bowl and that's it). We both had the chocolate cake (we should've ordered one and split it because it was THAT huge.) Our server was nice in the beginning, but after I politely told her about my soup, she immediately switched and started being rude. It took her about 5 minutes to get boxes, 20 minutes (literally) to take our debit cards. For a salad, soup and half a club, and dessert we were there for two whole hours. Not the best service nor my best time at Cheddars. I will only remain going to the Cheddars off of Man o War.

Consistently great food. Philly cheese-steak and cookie monster are wonderful

Cheddars is a classic restaurant with a classic menu that screams deliciousness. My taste buds fringe on the verge of tapping out every time I bite into one of their signature dishes. My wallet also sings with delight as the bill approaches. You leave Cheddars feeling like you have robbed them because you have gotten way more food than you should be paying for! Every thing that I expected was achieved on this particular visit! Within moments of being seated our waitress showed up, bright eyed and bushy tailed, eager to take our drink order. Normally, I order the Chicken Tender platter with bacon-cheese fries and red beans and rice as my side. My spirits are on high, but so are my cholesterol/sodium levels, after a meal like that. So this time I decided on a much lighter meal, the buffalo chicken wrap. And boy did it hit the spot! The food was fresh an hot and also came out within just a few minutes of our order. Nothing awkward happened in the bathroom this time, so that's a plus.

After having dreadful service while dining here with my parents on their last visit, we decided to give this cheddar' s another chance because my mom thoroughly enjoys their chips and queso. Service was greatly improved on this visit. Though compared to our last experience here, expectations were truly not at an all-time high. My mom and dad thoroughly enjoyed the baked spasagna and pot pie they ordered. Great amount of food for the price. My dad did wish they had a larger beer selection however. Drinks were refilled at an adequate rate. My only complaint on this trip was the rack of ribs I ordered. Being one of the more expensive menu items I had high hopes. Unfortunately they were grossly overcooked and it seemed they tried to cover up the fact by completely drowning them in their bbq sauce. Quite inedible but dessert was tasty and filling. Highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie. Still prefer other restaurants. Though often in the mood for cheddar' s I will just have to find a new location after the last few questionable visits. For the record, I have been several times since my last bad service experience. Cheddars does have an immaculate amount of options at such a reasonable price. I'm saddened that a couple of bad service experiences turned me off this gem. My last few visits have been so enjoyable and the service greatly improved. And trusts the other reviews, the croissants are silly good!

I visited Cheddar's on the tail end of my trip in KY, so I honestly was plump from all the southern, homestyle, hearty, good food. So I compromised and ordered a salad. Ok ok ok fine, I had the Crispy Chicken Salad. Yes a salad with chicken tenders. Delicous chicken tenders I might add! Overall the menu was big but it's nothing out of the ordinary. It's like the typical american flare for whatever your stomach craves.

I love Cheddar's. I live very close to this location and have never been disappointed. You get the best quantity and quality for a great price! Would go here over Applebee's any day!

Cheddars is one if my favorite places in Lexington. I feel like you get the best quality of food and portion for the best price. We frequent the Brighton location and tates creek location often. My favorite dishes are the dijion chicken, onion rings, potato skins and the full rack of ribs. Where else can you go and get a full rack of ribs that taste good for 13.99 and still get two sides?? Best price anywhere! The smoked flavor is the best. The service has always been great whenever we go. We often have big parties of 6 or more and service is still great. Highly recommend it!!

If bank for your buck is what you're looking for, look no farther than Cheddar's! Cheddar's is THE best when it comes to value in the area. And who doesn't like their fish tanks!?

Awesome deal! Huge portions for very low price! My usual is the chicken Caesar pasta salad with a sweet, sticky croissant. It's my favorite meal here. I've also had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. Portion was so big! Would be great to share! Something for everyone! My mom loves the Monte Cristo; a deep fried ham, turkey and cheese sandwich served with blackberry jam (I believe). Did I mention great prices!?

This was the first built of the two local locations. Both locations are my favorite places in Lexington where I get the most bang for my buck. It reminds you of higher class Applebee's. The food portions are huge. I usually get the vegetable plate, starting with a salad, including three other sides for $7.29... I told you that you get a lot of bang for your buck. Other classic menu items that they have are chicken and waffles, buffalo chicken wrapper, cat fish, Shepherd's Pie, country fried chicken and many more that I'm forgetting. I almost forgot the mention the buttery croissant rolls! One irresistible roll per side salad. There is often a wait list, but the tables along the bar are self seat... if there are any available.

my boyfriend and i had an unexpected, impromptu, perfect dinner here tonight. we arrived at about 7pm on a friday. the parking lot was packed, and my boyfriend dropped me off, to determine if the wait time was tolerable. i was quoted 25 minutes, which i accepted, and then took my buzzer to the bar. two gents were kind enough to scootch down one seat so that my boyfriend and i were able to sit at the bar. buzzer returned to the host stand, we settled in for dinner. i started off with the spicy mango mojito which was delish. i substituted seltzer for the sour mix, and the sweet-heat level was perfect. we opted for an appetizer of the queso and chips, with the ground beef. the chips were freshly fried, the queso was melty yummy goodness, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick. for dinner, my boyfriend ordered the shepard's pie: ground beef (okay- not traditional, but still yummy) topped with a mound of mashed potatoes topped with shredded cheddar. incredibly hearty and well-seasoned, he was very satisfied with his meal. i ordered the catfish with cajun seasoning, cole slaw, and broccoli cheddar casserole. due to all the positive reviews, i added a caesar salad, as well. the salad was plentiful, though the dressing was a bit sweet. it didn't taste to me like a classic caesar, but it was tasty nonetheless. yes- the sweet butter croissant is to die for, although mine was not warm, which was a little disappointing. my catfish was impossibly moist and flaky- perfectly cooked. the seasoning was just spicy enough to please those who like a little heat, as well as those who don't like much. my cole slaw was typical in ingredients, but the flavor and seasoning were spot on- the right amount of sugar, salt, and pepper. cheddar and broccoli casserole was thick, creamy, and incredibly hearty. i ordered the dinner portion (2 fillets vs. 1) and ended up taking exactly half my meal home- yay for leftovers! service was prompt and friendly. i'm not a lover of chains, and my boyfriend inquired as to how this could be a chain that offered so much food, for such a low price (our entire meal, including 1 beer and 2 cocktails, was just about $40...). i proffered that, while the business is likely turning a profit, they may have chosen to only profit so much, in favor of having loyal customers. i hope that is true, because that's how it feels. when in the presence of a cheddar's again (i live in CT- we don't have them), i'll surely return.

Cheddars is the typical all American joint, with poor to subpar service and extremely unhealthy food choices but very reasonably priced. If you're looking for a cheap splurge, I would recommend this place.

Excellent restaurant! Our server, Jordan was extremely attentive to our needs and did a top notch job! Food was fantastic as usual, My wife and I split the Monte Cristo sandwich, Wow was it good! We also had cole slaw (excellent) and cheese broccoli (too cheesy) as side items and an order of onion rings (some of the best I've had). Great eating establishment!

Great food, great service, reasonable prices. I like the atmosphere at this location better than the newer store on Man O War Blvd, although they are both great. Monte Cristo and Chicken Fingers are definite recommendations if you can't make up your mind while looking at the huge menu.

Cheddar's is as fine of dining as any Chili's or Applebee's, but I've always been impressed by its inexpensive, yet appetizing fair - something that most chains miss entirely. Some things I've enjoyed: - Monte Cristo sandwich - Buffalo chicken wrap - Mushroom Burger. And enough chicken tenders to feed an army on one single plate!

They do not do gluten free :( couldn't even tell me if I would be safe to eat a burger with no bun... With that attitude I couldn't chance it!

"Good.. But Location Close to Hamburg is better" Cheddars is always good, although the food and service tends to be quite abit better at the location off Man o War close to Hamburg area.

Food is always good here. Chill American atmosphere. Not fancy, but great family place. I love the Hawaiian chicken and shrimp. Also your salad comes with a great honey-buttered croissant :-)

Cheddar's is a very good value for the $. The food here is always good and the preparation is much more considerate than similar fare such as Applebee's, etc. This is a go to for an inexpensive dinner, but be prepared for a wait.

I don't know if it's possible to explain how amazing this place is. It is soooo cheap for what you get, you can get an amazing burger (my favorite is the mushroom burger) for about $6 and then fries for maybe $2. Then if you don't eat a ton, like me, bring home leftovers! My fiance and I ate here many times for under $18 before tip. And the waitress/waiters always deserve a good tip here! Definitely try this please!

This is a really good place for your money. Food is really good, and one of the few places in town I've been able to find a Monte Cristo sandwich. The big downside I've experience is there is often a really long wait (even more so than normal on a Fri/Sat night). I've spent 1 hour+ waiting to get a table on a Sunday afternoon, so I wouldn't recommend going with a big group of people on a busy night. Otherwise, you can't beat how good and inexpensive the food is.

By far the best of this type of resturant, standard American chain food. I've never ordered anything but the world class bacon cheeseburger and it's probably my favorite burger, at least top 5. I've tasted quite a few other dishes, but nothing good enough pull me away from the burgers. It's dirt cheap for what you get, $6 for a monster burger, fries are optional, but good. The cheese fry appetizer is damn good as well. I always try to work out a meal here when I'm in Lexington.
