Love their chicken fried rice. If you make a request for something to be taken off they take it off. I would say they are the best place for chicken fried rice. The price is pretty reasonable.

Stayed in town for a night and wanted to watch a football game so decided to stop here. (They changed the station for us so first impression was great) I had a shrimp taco (really good) and my husband had a tamale and chicken quesadilla (awesome with grilled chicken). The guacamole is lacking, but everything else was really, really good. Service was solid - attentive waiter and really friendly hostess.
My only regret is that I didn't try this place sooner!!! You won't be disappointed with the quality if food, service or prices! We felt like we should have paid much more for our food and drinks! Also - 15% off on Thursdays.
I grew up in central Kentucky but no longer live there. I decided to try this place when I was back for a visit. The fish tacos were absolutely underwhelming and unoriginal. Unimpressive. I can go to even Walmart and buy the soft shells (or hard shells), lettuce, tomatoes, and tilapia necessary to make the fish tacos. The Mexican rice was actually delicious, but also very standard, status quo. The same can be said for the chips and salsa. These sides, plus the good service, were the only reasons I gave this place two stars. You all are invited to fly to California to try the Mexican food that I always can't wait to eat again. Even locally, there are also other good local restaurants in Eagle Lake (Hunters Grill, Best Donuts) that are worth the money. Sorry, Don Pedro's, no bueno.

A good place for local mexican. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices.
We placed our drink order of margaritas, of course, ordered our food and got our drinks. The food was delivered in a timely fashion by someone other than our server. The server showed at our table 20 seconds after the other guy put our food on the table, said "everything good? Great!" Without even waiting for a reply, he walked away. We never saw him again until I had to flag him down from half across the restaurant for our checks after our drinks had sit empty for quite a while. I probably would have ordered another. The time was 7:30 pm when we came in so the dinner rush was pretty much over. The fajitas with steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo were good though. The staff were all very friendly, just MIA at times. I'll go back, despite this one event. Hopefully it was a fluke.
If you are at all familiar with Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, then you know it is a tiny little podunk town that has absolutely nothing to offer in the way of dining, entertainment, intellectual stimulation, etc. However, sometimes I am so tired on the weekends while visiting the fam that when it's time to eat I don't even have it in me to venture the 15 minutes into Frankfort where there are a least a few decent dining options. While the 'Burg has wayyyy too many Mexican restaurants (seriously, for a town this size, they have like six Mexican restaurants within 5 miles of one another), I think La Isla stands out as very good. Located in a former Hardee's building, it has done so well and gotten such a loyal following despite its competition, that they had even expanded, and have a nice little outdoor seating area (this is adventurous and upscale for the 'Burg). La Isla offers the usual in way of chips and salsa, gratis. Nothing out of the ordinary here. We usually just order whatever grilled sizzling meat there is, smothered in excessive cheese, served with beans and sides of rice with more cheese. The food is your usual Americanized Mexican fare. But, it is very cheap, tasty and fresh and the portions are ridiculously generous (I always get the Pollo Monterey + grilled jalapeños - yummy). The staff are always very friendly, and I have not had any issues with the cleanliness (rare for me).

Walked in tonight to watch a game and get some food with my husband, didn't appear busy. However, the bar and all related tables were dirty and the bartender said she'd be with us in a minute. Ok, that's fine, it was obviously busy. She had to finish making some drinks...and other staff was standing there doing nothing while we waited. So - we left and went down the strip mall street to Don Pedro's. Great service and food!
In town from Milwaukee visiting some distilleries. Happened to drive by this place while looking for something else. Turns out that something else doesn't exist anymore, so we settled on Hunters Grille. Not only was it extremely affordable ($22 for 2 salads and 2 beers), it was really good! I had a steak salad, asked for medium steak and got it. BF got bbq chicken salad, and the chicken was sooo tender. Both salads came with onion straws (more like full size onion rings) that were amazing as well. The only weird thing is that we were offered crackers with the salads; maybe this was only weird because we're from out of town. We were the only people dining out on the patio, and the service was pretty good. Slightly slow, but not enough to knock it down. Plus, server was very friendly.
We stopped here for lunch after a Four Roses Distillery tour. Our waitress, Tish (or maybe Trish) was nice and did a good job. Since it was Monday, the special was burgers, fries and a drink for $6.99. Our server suggested the burgers or steaks and we all ordered a burger. They were really good, but we were very disappointed with the fries. The were standard crinkle cut, but not very crispy and had an off taste (possibly not fresh oil for frying....). As my family will tell you, we don't trust someone who leaves a plate of fries untouched, yet we all did. Because of the fries I would give them a three, but I would definitely try them again if I was in the area.
