If you want a blast from the past, you have to stop by Manners! The owners, Nona and Ricky are wonderful people and it's not uncommon to find them at the grill or seating customers. Great little shop to grab a burger and fries, shake, or fried portabella mushroom slices - yum! Great lunch specials too! Also a great place to view historical pictures of the town and get a little history lesson about Jamestown, KY.

The breakfast here was delicious. The hashbrowns are crisp (why is that so hard for most places to do?) And the country gravy is thick with chunks of sausage (again something most places seems ready to skimp on by watering it down.) I've never had fried biscuits before, so they were a nice change. My companion had the home fries that looked to be more like scalloped potatoes, but he was very happy with them. There is a "museum" next to the restaurant, which is worth a quick look.

Stopped in on the way to Jamestown marina for supper. I had the special for Wednesday night stir fry steak over rice. It was good. Companion had a burger and baked potato. It was very good according to her. The desserts were amazing and worth the stop by them selves. She had coconut cream pie and I had peanut butter pie. I'll be stopping on my way home to take some back. Server was extremely nice and helpful.
Truly difficult to remember a worse meal. This is a greasy spoon where table condiment containers are truly filthy and greasy. Come to think of it, everything was greasy -including the burrito i ordered. It was slimy greasy inside and out. The salad was Brown tinged and wilted. Fried pickles had no flavor-how can any place make bad fried pickles? Call here to find out.....the coffee was good and the waitress attentive, but food doesn't get much worse. There aren't many nearby choices, but best to go hungry for a bit and go elsewhere.
Decent place for breakfast. The cafe has nice atmosphere and enough kitsch to make you feel like you're in the quintessential small town. I liked the food at the Cookery better though.
