When compared to Arnold's Drive In, Creekside Diner seems to be a hungry man's dream. However when you finish eating you realize that although the food was good, there was nothing special about it. It's a basic small town diner, populated mostly by the elderly, with basic small town diner food. The place feels empty, there are a few paintings hanging around the place, but nothing special, a coin game + jukebox, neither of which seemed to be in working shape, and some slot machines; but it still feels empty. They also advertised their "daily dessert" but when asked about this they claimed to only have ice-cream. Be assured, I enjoyed the food and the restaurant was clean; but at the end of the day it was nothing special.
Arnold's Drive In is a small establishment in boondocks of Knott County. When my friend and I stopped by around 6:30 P.M. we were the only customers in the place. The interior was very dirty, and the waitress was smoking inside. They were almost out of all condiments, and the ones they did have were expired. The bathrooms didn't have running water and the toilet hadn't been flushed in an obviously long time. However the food we ordered was well made and tasted good and the owner of the establishment was very friendly and made time to talk to us. However, a friendly face and average food was not enough to make up for how dirty the establishment was.
