Peking Chinese Restaurant, located in down town Hazard is one of the best Chinese restaurants i have ate at. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to large groups. The server taught our large group how to refold our napkins on the table into an intriguing form. Drinks and food were served quickly to the group. I had the egg roll , general tso chicken with steamed rice. Fried rice or Steamed rice were served in dishes meant to be shared. The proportion sizes compliments the price as well as you taking a delicious to go box home. There is a dining room on the second floor as well as an open bar on the first floor. Peking Chinese Restaurant is not your average Chinese buffet restaurant. There is charming decor as well as a variety of dishes on the menu. It is an ideal place to have a birthday party in which the servers will sing too, family gatherings or just large groups in general. The only downside is parking may be limited directly in front of the restaurant. This place is worth the walk from your car to venture in.

A small party of twenty-one of us stopped here for a dinner while in Hazard over an eight week summer program. I listened to the experiences of seven international travelers and the reflections of first time Chinese dinners. To a person, we all came away impressed that this place is something special for Eastern Kentucky.

Typical cornstarch Chinese. The food is decent, as are the portions. The 'hot' is not really hot/spicy and most sauces are goopy. The staff is super friendly, though. The atmosphere is great, too.

My friends and I got the lunch buffet special that comes with a free drink. I don't know the names of all of the dishes that I got but they were all delicious! Our server was so incredibly friendly and made it a point to greet us when we got into the dining room. He was very attentive to keep our drinks full and helped make our experience very enjoyable. I will gladly eat at Peking any time I am in Hazard!

We are over the road truck drivers so we eat in a lot of different places and towns. This place was really nice. The food is good, prices aren't bad either. The only thing is it is hard to find. It is in a building with other businesses like a tattoo place. But that aside, if you ever come to hazard you have got to come try this place. It has become one of my favs on the road. What a hidden gem!

This place just makes me happy!! Great food, cool atmosphere and the servers are the friendliest around. The one thing that stands out is the buffet. It is not typical of other buffets, they use the same food with the same care that they would serve an entree. And they change it often, not just let it dry out under lights...

This Chinese Buffet has some of the friendliest help staff I have ever met! They were so thoughtful that even though we came in right toward the end of buffet time, they made us some new food. It was truly a great experience. I've never had buffet style Chinese at menu quality prices. The crab was so good; I wondered if it had been caught off of a moor nearby.

The restaurant is located by the side of a major road but the actual dining area is far enough inside that the customers are not disturbed by cars passing by. I found the interior's dimly lit design very warm and pleasant. The service was of a high quality, with the staff engaging comfortably and cheerily with the customers. The food was also top notch. The only issue I had was that they did not have a very diverse menu. Overall, I really liked the restaurant and I would encourage anyone who likes Chinese food to try out this restaurant.

The food and the service here was amazing. The owner of the restaurant as well as the staff members were all really friendly and made my colleagues and I feel very welcome. We all ate during the lunch buffet which comes with free beverages. We were all very pleased with the food, the service, and the hospitality of our server.

Very good Chinese food up here in the mountains. Standouts include the hot and sour soup, chicken green bean, Mongolian beef, and chunked chicken Hunan-style. The food is often not very spicy even if you ask for it spicy, but they're always happy to bring some extra chili sauce. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Portions are very large, and ordering two entrees always means we have breakfast for the next morning.

The food was so good. The service was wonderful too. They greeted us so warmly and friendly. They have lunch and dinner buffet, opening 7 days a week now. There is a variety of options in the menu. Very satisfied :)

The atmosphere is very traditional"Chinese".The owners(and employees) are nice. They come by and play with children, toddlers, and babies. They also try to chat to make sure you are comfortable and that everything is suitable.I love the idea of the small "arcade" around the corner. The bathrooms could be updated,as well as the little "arcade".However,I do love the vintage games they have. The food was okay.I don't really enjoy Chinese food, but sometimes I'll have a bite because it's so tasty.Very nice restaurant.I highly recommend it.

Used to lived in Hazard, and ate their food a lot. Their Chicken green bean is one of my favorite entree, the sauce is unique its kinda like brown sauce but little bit spicy with black bean (?) in it, not to gravy-ing, just enough to taste the sauce so like I said its a unique sauce :) My daughter loves their sweet sour chicken and egg drop soup, the chicken its perfectly battered soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside, the soup is not loaded with food color and have lots of "eggs ribbon" inside (you'll know what I mean if you're a fan of egg drop soup). Last but not least their waitress are so friendly.

I and other 4 colleagues went to this Peking Chinese Restaurant in downtown of Hazard for lunch. I think it is only one Chinese place in the downtown that we had to visit. we just ordered buffet for our lunch and we were able to eat more than 10 kinds of food. the food was good and the waiters were kind, however there was no name for food at the buffet section that I did not know what I am eating, which meat I am eating, whether it was pork or chicken or beef. I had to make some guess about the food.

You wont find better Chinese food in the mountains. We had the seafood buffet & it was really good, considering we got there late. Service was quick & friendly. They serve only wine & beer, so dont go in thinking you are going to get bombed on shots or liquor with your lo main dish. I will def go back in the future.

Peking Chinese Restaurant, located in Hazard, Ky. is a unique little restaurant with wonderful food, a friendly staff, and a diverse drink menu to match their comfortable, cool, relaxed atmosphere. I visited with 20 other people and was surprised at how well Peking handle such a large group. All the food came quickly and almost at the same time. Our drinks never dipped below half full. I had the sweet and sour chicken with some fresh steamed rice. The food was more than I could eat in one sitting and well worth its price. I would recommend you check it out if you are in the mood for some tasty Chinese.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
