It has everything I like in a bbq joint. Small homey atmosphere, clean, friendly staff, good bbq, and good sides. I went with the pulled pork sandwich, homemade chips, and onion rings. Everything was on point and I left satisfied. Im in town for a couple more days and can see myself coming back again before I head home.
Saw all the positive reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. Utterly disappointing. Pulled pork was dry, sauce was bland. Best thing about the meal was the corn on the cob (and that was only OK). Definitely not going back on my next trip in the area.
This is by far the best bbq I've had to date in ky. The pulled pork is the best I've had outside of my own. The brisket is wonderful tender and rubbed just right. And of course the sides hog fries, tater salad, bbq beans are great. If you can catch the owner and pit master when you visit he will answer any questions you have about smoking meat. I will keep going back.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Reviews:
On our long drive to visit my boyfriends family in Tennessee, we finally decided to stop by Cracker Barrel for some grub. {Ambiance} The same as all of the other Cracker Barrel's. Very Country Home Type Feel. There are the usual rocking chairs on the front patio of their store. As you enter you will first see the gift shop that sells antiques, candies, candles, jam, hand made blankets, lotions, etc. As you move towards the back left of the store, you will find the host/hostess for their restaurant. {Service} I've stumbled upon many Cracker Barrel's during my road trips. The service has always varied for each. THIS store however, is extremely prompt and friendly. We were seated immediately. Our server welcomed us with a bright smile. She brought us corn bread and biscuits within mins. after we were seated. Our water cups were always full. She was hospitable throughout our entire meal. There was a bit of a mix up initially. Someone started to place another groups order on our table. We told them that this wasn't our food and our waitress immediately came over and apologized. She was so caring and our food came out shortly after. {Food} Everything on their menu has that good old country home cooking feel to it. You can find Homemade Chicken n' Dumplings, Turnip Greens, Catfish, Sausage n' Biscuits, Country Fried Steak, Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, Fried Apples, Cole Slaw, and Apple Cider here (and so much more). Their corn bread is made from real corn meal and their biscuits are home made as well. I've never had a problem with the quality or taste of any of their dishes. {Price} About $7-$12 for most dishes. If you order a steak, you may have to fork out some more cash. This place is NOT for you if: you're on the Atkins Diet, in a Hurry, you don't like country cooking. This IS for you if: You've been on the road for a long time and need to take a good break, you like carbs, and you LOVE country cooking.
Food was great. Server was Sadie and she was the best and she is the reason I gave 5 stars
Cracker Barrel is always a favorite. From town to town you almost always get consistent food and service. If traveling it's safe to say you will enjoy any of Cracker Barrel s!

The food , atmosphere and service was great. I know the cook has to be Cajun the gumbo , pasta and chicken is prepared spicy as I like it. Would recommend it for any occasion.
We went to Brickyard for the first time for a corporate event. The staff was amazing and the food was spot on! We will definitely be back!
Saw this restaurant earlier today as I was walking around the square in downtown Franklin - warm ambiance inside and out. Staff was nice and accommodating. Food was great! If I was local, I would be a regular!

Mr. Horace Dunn is THE barbeque man in the little town of Franklin. There aren't many other BBQ options in Franklin because everyone knows that Mr. Dunn serves up the town's best meat. Located less than a mile from the county square, people flock to this place when they smell the smoke coming from Mr. Dunn's rudimentary building off Jefferson Street. The hours of operation may occasionally vary since Mr. Dunn is the only one working here. I'd suggest giving him a call before you visit. He'll treat you like he has known you your whole life. Generally, it's open Thursday thru Saturday. The bottom line: It's local. It's cheap. It's delicious.
One of the best BBQ you'll ever eat! The sauce is awesome and the cornbread and baked beans are wonderful
While traveling through the area, we checked yelp for a place to eat. The GPS brought us to this location. This is definitely a "locals" hangout. Once we found it, (It's smaller than my tool shed) it was closed. Not a very desirable neighborhood!

My family loves to come here. The food has always been hot and fresh and very tasty. The service is friendly and kind. The establishment is clean too. 4 stars and not 5 because I only save 5 for top tier restaurants. Best of the best. But for fast food 4 stars is the best I give. Great place!
We stopped in on our way back to Louisville from Atlanta. My first time ever at a Zaxby's. It was decent. I got the Zaxby's Club, but probably should have just gotten wings. The decor inside is much more "casual sit down restaurant" than I expected from a fast food-esque, drive thru and counter service only kind of place. Dinner hit the spot, came out quickly and we were on our way again.
Stopped by to get a birthday cake shake Had chunks of ice - horrible horrible Called manager - said their freezer was out of order? Why would they sell me a product they knew was not right! Near hwy 65 I guess they knew we would not return Crooks!!!!

Food was good but the waiter beltran needs to learn hospitality. The salsa was mild but ok. No shredded beef enchiladas. I was told by local i am too hard. I would come back. The manager from Honduras very nice.
I've been to this place before and had a really good burrito and margarita. Today, the margaritas were still good, although they don't have the monster size anymore, but the Carnitas were on the so-so side. A few of them were tender, but for the most part they were shriveled up dry and not very appealing. Decor and location are still great, service was wonderful, but the Carnitas were sort of killed in the process. Three stars only because the rice and beans were flavorful and tasted fresh, other than that, oh, the chips were warm and pretty awesome. Maybe fresh? I would come back again just for the margaritas, and maybe I will try something different next time, maybe the chef was having a bad day. It happens, you know. It happens to the best of us.
First off I didn't know whether to give this joint a 1 or 5 rating so I gave it a 3. I went because it was super close to my hotel and I was in the mood for some mexican. Not only did I get mexican, but I got mexican fused with southern Kentucky "charm". It took a solid five minutes for someone to seat people. I waited because there was a group in front of me, but now I know there is a bar I could have bellied up to without waiting. Once I got settled in at the bar is when the real fun began. I was fortunate enough to sit next to Charlie and mitsy who frequent this place about once a week. They had ordered a margarita and were blown away by what Ricardo had fixed for them. I immediately noticed why....all the bottles behind the bar were free pour. They usually get two pitchers, but tonight they had trouble finishing one. Then began a series of "MacGyver" like ingenuity. Charlie and mitsy needed an ashtray so Ricardo not being able to find one gave them an empty cocktail napkin and straw holder that sits at the bar to use. Then over the course of my stay I noticed Ricardo didnt have a bottle opener. No problemo....he used everthing else behind the bar to open bottles.....a lemon squeezer, drink shaker, counter top, and multiple knives. The Smirnoff bottle tipped into a patron chilling dispenser was a nice touch lol. The best move I witnessed was when two mich ultras were being poured and the keg cashed out....no worries....just top off both glasses with miller lite lol. Hey both beers suck in my opinion anyway. All in all I enjoyed myself...it truly felt like I was in a different country. The service was a bit slow, but they may have been understaffed due to the world cup being on. Oh and the steak fajitas were good.

Papa John’s Pizza

Reviews:
We went to the Papa John's company website and typed in our physical address and every time we get a search it stated our location does not exist. We know our location exist because Papa John's always delivers to our location, since our location is one of the biggest businesses in that Simpson County area. After several attempts and no results of been told that we do not exist, we decided to take a chance and call. After 30 minutesof online presence and now on the phone we are towed it will be a hour plus wait to get a pizza. So because of this we decided not to get a pizza and then it was already 8 o'clock and already had a previous batteries up with another pizza company also and Simpson County Franklin. Me nor my coworkers was able to have anything for our dinner this night. So what I recommend this location to other people,? I am still currently deciding so I killed this location at three star rating.

We were traveling back from Tennessee and played the random food place game. This is the game where you see a sign and pull off the highway to see if they sell something resembling food. This is fun when you have an open mind and are willing to take a risk. It is a kind of restaurant roulette. Today we hit the jackpot. We found a nice laid back place that specialized in good Americian food. They had burgers, steak, and things like that. We shared one of their batter fried onion blossoms. Really good flavor with a fresh onion that was not to overcooked. I was in the mood for a burger. Since I already had the fried onions I went for coleslaw vs fries. The burger came out at the right temperature with fresh ingredients on top. The slaw was also good. They used a lighter dressing so it was crunchy and not gloppy. The service was very nice. Our main server was attentive and polite. She made sure we had everything we needed. Other servers in our section checked on us as well. They were service oriented. This was a nice run, well maintained, and friendly place for a nice lunch. I bet they do just as well for dinner.
Good people, great food, good price!!! I was very surprised about the quality of the food and how well it was prepared! By the looks of the building I was wondering how the food was going to taste. Not that it was bad but the food was way better than I would of thought. Fries were not so good. The server Amber B. Was pleasant to talk to and had that cute southern accent. Thank you!!! Oh yea! Try the Bock beer!!! Delicious haha
Over the past 5-6 years they have been in Franklin they have had their ups and downs. They started off with a bang!!! Bad management/ownership about a year after opening things went downhill. Cleanliness, friendliness and food quality. We quit going there for about two years. Heard around town it had improved tried it again. It had!!! The manager a sweet young lady "Tibbs" worked hard and won our business back. Earlier this year she left and a new manager started. My husband and I weekly to bi-weekly continued going there initially after the new manager started. Our LAST time to eat there was this past Saturday. And I do mean LAST. The past few months you can see it going downhill fast. The management staff finds cutting up with staff, hanging out and chillin' and I kid you not the manager said to a group "you're at the 'Ho-asis' yep, we just a bunch a Ho" (not my words - your managers words to a waitress along with a few less desirable things said on more than one occasion) to be a priority, the wait fir service and food is often very long, the food quality/versus price is very substandard, the preparation of food is always a gamble. Cleanliness is also an issue the past several months. Dead flies, alive flies, dust, sticky floors, a general unkeep feeling of this place. It is with much sadness I write this review. Franklin has few sit down dining options and I like to support local business and our local economy but I would highly recommend driving past this restaurant. I was generous with a two star rating but each time we continued to go back it would be a little worse than the last. I'm fairly certain they haven't hit rock bottom yet. My suggestion re-train your management on corporate procedures and people skills or get new managers.
