The pork "wings" are meaty and oh so tender! I just wish they were served with a homemade sauce instead of what tasted like bullseye BBQ sauce. They are a great Appetizer alternative, or a meal in themselves. The spicy chicken quesadillas were full of juicy meat and had a great spicy flavor! we also asked for a spicy salsa and they brought a smokey, firey sauce that was excellent!

This place was seriously AWESOME! The food was really fresh, it was not overly spiced and the portions are large. The service and prices were great. I now dub this the best Mexican restaurant in Frankfort.

Fantastic. The service was great, friendly and timely. I ordered the Fiesta Burrito with spicy chicken. This restaurant was great.

I had big hopes for The Big Fiesta due to good reviews and a lack of other options in the area. Unfortunately, I came away unimpressed. The Good: service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was relatively dead but the waitress took my order and got drinks quickly and food came out as expected. Manager/Host was eating at the host counter and sitting at the bar, but, whatever. The Bad: The food tasted like nothing at all. Chips were bland and not fresh. Salsa was watery with no type of spice/kick to it. The food just had nothing to it. This is a Mexican eatery! Bring a little bit of heat or at least something!! Taco was the only thing that tasted like your average taco. The Ugly: my margarita was poured from a large bottle of pre-mixed margaritas. This is a deal breaker for me. It also tasted like watered down tequila. No sweet lime flavor at all.

I went to their sister restaurant in Somerset a few weeks ago so I just had to go here also when I was working in Frankfort. It was equally as great. I ordered the seafood quesadilla as carry out and it was huge. It came with rice, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. They also gave me chips and salsa in my bag.

Peach sangria is most tasty! The salsa is the best I've had in Frankfort.

We stumbled upon this place after where we had intended to go was closed. The wait staff were friendly and quick. There was a great bluegrass band playing the night we were there. I ordered a quesadilla with corn tortillas (which they were fine with doing) and hubs had enchiladas. LOVED their salsa. Tasted really fresh!

It's hit or miss. If it is busy, it's pretty good. If not, I have gotten bad meals. It's your basic Americanized Mexican food.

A solid tex mex place. They have huge portions, good prices, and tasty food. The chips and guac are a solid option, and i liked the vegetarian options i tried. A friend had the steak taco, and he enjoyed it as well

I have eaten here many times. It is great! The homemade salsa is Fabulous! Everything I ate was good. Great service. I liked the many fish tanks. I just wish the other Fiesta Grandes(Danville) had the same salsa. The salsa in Danville is just o.k.

If you want Mexican food this is your best bet. La Fiesta Grande is a staple for Central Kentucky. I grew up in Lexington, and my friends and I were always up for the drive. It takes about half an hour to get there once you've passed the airport (It's twenty miles West of Lex up 60 / Versailles Road). The food is that good! Everything on the menu is great. I have yet to have a bad meal. The best part though is their homemade margaritas (WOW!!), they are the best in the area (and they are huge). The cheese enchiladas are really good, the taco salad is fantastic, and their chili renos are to die for. Man I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. This is a great place to come hang out. They have a full bar, the restaurant is really big so you never feel like you are being hurried along. The waiters know the food, and they are always ready with refills. At night this place really gets going. Music, parties, and lots of chips and salsa. It's a lot of fun. It's a fun place for kids (several fish tanks) too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
