Tim Horton’s

2013 Eisenhower Ave
Fort Knox, 40121
Reviews:
The first Tim Hortons store on an American military base. Fort Knox seems to take pride in that fact a bit, and they should. I love coming here not for their donuts or coffee, but for their sandwiches! It's a somewhat healthier alternative to Burger King or Taco John's, and their store hours don't seem to be as limited as those of other places. They have breakfast sandwiches, grilled paninis, and a whole lot more variety than what the other fast food restaurants have. Service has always been quick and without a problem. Probably one of the better places to get food in the area.
Some day the chicken club is grilled, other days it's fried? Sometimes it tastes hot and fresh, other times it's soggy and looks like its been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The chicken(less) noodle soup is less than mediocre; mostly broth. I could only stomach about four spoonfuls until my body went into shock from sodium overload.
What can I say, cold night, snowing, past midnight, and guess what?, Tim's is open 24x7 to get that steaming cup of Joe and friendly service, no matter what. I love this place. The sour cream old fashioned doughnut is off the charts, along with an extra large cup of coffee ! The cool thing about the FT Knox branch is that they actually make relationships with their customers. Every time my wife comes in they already know what she wants and get it going right away. Always fast, always fresh, always friendly is the Tim Horton Ethos here at Knox. Thanks guys !

Subway

I don't know why I always find it so amusing to see a restaurant conjoined to a convenience store, but that's basically what this is. It's an ordinary Subway in the same building as the largest Shoppette on Fort Knox. People who work at Ireland Army Community Hospital sometimes come here for lunch since it's so close by. I personally don't bother because I prefer cafeteria food, but Subway isn't bad. It's just that there's virtually nothing special about this Subway other than the fact that you can also do your shopping at the location without walking out any door. The Shoppette is great because it carries so much stuff, but the Subway is just a normal place to get submarine sandwiches to go. Also, since this is a military base, they don't accept tips.

food is absolutely TERRIBLE, in a good way at least. They come here on time, its the only chinese delivery place. The food needs more salt, more seasoning, more soysauce maybe and definitely less oil.
If you are here on a night when a slovenly dude is working bar, turn around and walk out. He is a world class douche- bag.
I had the General Tso chicken dinner with fried rice and a vegetable egg roll. The General Tso's was not too sweet, but not spicy at all. The egg roll was bland, but not too bad, however the friend rice was horrible. It was rice with peas, carrots, and maybe a dash of soy sauce and oil. It tasted greasy and did not even have egg in it. How do you operate a "asian" restaurant and are not able to prepare fried rice correctly?
