Believe the hype from the other reviews. Brusters' ice cream is the bomb dot com, and so is their service. We went tonight after getting an email about trying their new Hot Apple Dumpling. Sadly, we were told that they ran out (of 6 cases!). I really had my heart set on it so I asked for an alternate recommendation. She gave me a BIG sample taste of some not on the menu caramel apple ice cream and it was outstanding. Even better, she told me that since it was raining I could get a second scoop free! Whenever it rains or snows, that's the deal. Another tip: go to their website and sign up for their email club to get coupons. They have a drive thru and a walk-up window. Very old-timey. It's so nice to sit on the benches or tables out front enjoying your treat of choice. I call this stretch of US 42 'ice cream row' because there's also a UDF, Graeter's, Dairy Queen, and Baskin Robbins within a mile. Pass all those by and go to Brusters instead, you won't regret it.

We have been steady customers for years. Daughter loves the Dino sundae and when we had our dog they used to give her a treat when we went. Great service and fantastic for families.

Great Ice Cream at an inexpensive price. A few tips: Go for Ice Cream - it is hot outside Don't eat it oustide because it is hot outside 1 Scoop = equals 2 Scoops at Baskin Robbins. Ask for extra napkins Give their unique flavors a try. I recently had the Key Lime pie - and it was really yummy - I liked the graham cracker crust addition to the Key Lime Ice Cream. I save my 5 star ratings for some of the local creameries (such as Jeni's in Columbus)... Overall it is very good and I will go there often.

Yum. Stopped here because Graeters down the street was closed! Wow! Pleasant surprise! Chocolate peanut butter buckeye amazing. Liked better than Graeters!

Yummy! The best Birthday Cake icing ever! Just pick a flavor of ice cream and pair it with your choice of cake and... wallah! Just give them a couple days notice to put it together. Also, make sure your freezer is wide enough to store the cake. My side by side fridge is too small. Thank goodness for the old fridge in the garage.

When a business boldly boasts the words "real ice cream" in its brand name, you can't help but feel that they're just a lil full of themselves and just setting themselves up...for others to discredit their claim. Guess that's the dark side of human nature in all of us, trying to find the bad, instead of the good. But if you can't find at least ONE thing good about Bruster's..and its ice cream, well, then you are an evil, evil person. End.Of.Story. Old-fashioned walk-up (or drive-thru) ice cream shops just never get old. Which is ironic in a way since they try to maintain the nostalgia of a time long gone. You just can't help but pulling in and figuring out what delicious treats they have to offer. Lately, I've been on a serious, and I mean SERIOUS, coffee ice cream kick. I love me some iced coffee fraps and all, but lately, I've just been wanting something a lil more substantial. I honestly didn't think they'd carry coffee ice cream, since it's such a "trendier" flavor, but lo and behold there it was on the menu. Folks, when I tell you that this place has some of THE BEST COFFEE ICE CREAM that I've ever tasted...you just have to believe me. You just have to! I didn't really expect the depth and complexity of coffee flavor that hit me as I took my first taste. So creamy, so velvety, so coffee-y. Absolutely, divinely, heavenly. My one and only gripe: I'm not too keen on the Bruster's spoons. They're red and cute and all, but they tend to be a lil bendy and I find that they hinder the process of me getting their product into my mouth. Give me a sturdy spoon dang it! I wanna be able to shovel the ice cream as fast as I can into my mouth. It's quite a pathetic scene to see a grown woman eating some of the best ice cream on earth with a bendy, uncooperative spoon. :*( So the next time you're stressed and everything in the world is just so wrong and bad, head on over to Bruster's, order yourself a coffee ice cream (or any of their other 23 flavors) and walk over to their brightly lacquered red benches, take a couple of tastes...and let everything get back to being right and good in your world. I know I will be... I got 23 other flavors to taste test...

Oh my. By accident my husband got their key lime pie flavor and I'm in love. I got some toffee caramel flavor and it was good, but not nearly as amazing as the key lime. Needless to say I ended up eating a lot of my husband's ice cream (sorry honey). Their ice cream has a very smooth, creamy texture, I think the creamiest I've ever had. I think I've found my new favorite ice cream place in NKY.

I've only been to this scrumptious walk-up/drive-thru ice cream shop once, but it left quite an impression. I ordered a scoop of Caramel Overload with Twix, which set me back over $2. For that price it better be pretty darn good. Oooh, it was! The creamy chocolate ice cream was oozing caramel, almost as if it had been drizzled throughout the whole scoop. Each bite it took was heavenly, making me wish I had thrown restraint to wind and ordered two scoops in a waffle cone. Or a Peanut Butter Cup Sundae, or Turtle Sundae, or, heck, everything on the menu sounds yummolicious. I'll keep you updated because I plan to make my way through their endless list of flavors.

Handel's has indeed spoiled me. My first time here, I ordered a scoop of Pistachio and a scoop of Chocolate Lover Trash. My significant other ordered a scoop of something and a scoop of something else. The person that took our order ended up giving us 2 scoops of Pistachio in a cup, 2 scoops of Chocolate Lover Trash in another cup, 2 scoop of something in its own cup, and 2 scoop of something else also in its own cup... We corrected the person and said, we wanted one scoop of Pistachio and a scoop of Chocolate Lover Trash in one cup, just one scoop of each, together, in a cup. And the same for something and something else. The person that took our order ended up giving us 2 scoops of Pistachio and 2 scoops of Chocolate Lover Trash in a cup. The same goes for something and something else. We gave up and just took the large amount of ice cream. Anyways, aside from the messed up orders. The Pistachio ice cream is NOT Pistachio ice cream. Yes, there are Pistachio nuts in it, but that doesn't make it Pistachio ice cream. I've had Pistachio ice cream. This tasted like sweetened cream with Pistachio nuts dumped into it. It does not taste good. And I have 2 scoops of not-Pistachio "Pistachio" ice cream that I didn't really order. On the other hand. The Chocolate Lover Trash, that was delightful. It was delicious. However, in comparison to Handel's, when I eat Handel's, I feel good, it's light and fluffy and yummy. After I was done eating Bruster's Ice Cream, it felt very heavy. But, it was still delicious. I decided to give Bruster's another shot. Mostly to see if Bruster can take my order properly this time. So today, My significant other, his brother, and myself decided we wanted ice cream. I was wanting to try Chocolate Lover Trash again and so I wanted extra to take home so I can savor it over time. Well, I ordered 2 scoops of Chocolate Lover Trash, Significant Other ordered 2 scoops of Peach, and SO's brother ordered 2 scoops of something else, all in cups. I don't know what happened, but I ended up with a scoop of Chocolate Lover, SO got the order that he wanted(amazing, right?), And SO's brother ended up paying $6+ for a waffle cone ice cream he didn't order. We didn't even bother trying to correct the order. Mostly because we really wanted to get home because my daughter was getting antsy.

I'm pretty sure Bruster's is a chain, but it tastes like it's local flavor. Plus, this is the only one I know of in the Cincinnati area. Walk up to the window and you'll find a long list of flavors, milkshakes, and sundae options. My absolute favorite treat is one that makes an appearance seasonally: Mocha Oreo. Who knew that coffee flavored ice cream would taste more amazing with chunks of Oreos? Let me elaborate on these Oreos. This is not cookies n' cream style, where the cookies are ground up into microscopic dust. Mocha Oreo has quarter-sized chunks of cookie throughout the ice cream. There's plenty in every bite! The ice cream itself is smooth and creamy. It's dished out in a pate instead of a round scoop. One scoop is more than enough; it's huge and heaping out the top of the cone! Always grab extra napkins... So, Bruster's, when will you be bringing back the Mocha Oreo this season? I'll be first in line. Price per person: $5.00

My family and I spent Saturday eating our way through Northern Kentucky at Oktoberfest. Which was great by the way, but during the shuffling through the crowd and trying really hard not to lose my ish as my mother would say against the mob of people there was few- if any smiles at all. Heck, I was lucky to get a thank you or a you're welcome during the exchanging of money for food. It wasn't until my stomach started speaking to me all mad like (weird I tell ya) and convinced me to beg my husband to take me for ice cream that I found my sunshine at 7:00pm in the form of a blonde girl named Amanda L. She was the absolute epitome of what REAL customer service is all about. Seriously, you have to have been there, I don't think she stopped smiling the entire time we were there. Adam, the manager even took time out what was turning out to be a busy night to come over and talk with us and become familiar with our new faces. The ice cream is absolutely fantastic. You must try the parfait because I broke my diet for the thing and if you know how I am about commitments then you know it had to be good! Brusters is definitely my new place to stop in for some good food and ice cream and also my free therapy, because if anyone goes into that place mad they will have a change of attitude before they leave!
