El Rio Grande

1000 Fashion Ridge Rd
Dry Ridge, 41035
Reviews:
We stopped here for dinner on a Friday night, driving from Lexington to Dayton. Nice atmosphere, except they do have a smoking section. Even though we sat in the non-smoking section, I could still smell the cigarette smoke. That's my only complaint. The service was prompt, very friendly and the food arrived at lightning fast. The food was delicious and the portions were large! We will likely stop here again when we repeat our weekend trip.
Finally, some solid Mexican food in Dry Ridge! This El Rio Grande is pretty much the same as the rest around Northern Kentucky, which is a very good thing. You get delicious Tex Mex, huge portions, and good service, all for a great price. The salsa is great, but be warned, it has LOTS of cilantro in it. For those of you out there that are unfortunate enough to hate cilantro, you may want to steer clear. No problem though, because their cheese dip is really good. My favorite entrees are the carnitas and the special fajitas, which have beef, steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo. I skip the shrimp and order extra chorizo with mine. The amount of meat and veggies you get is easily enough to make 8 huge fajitas, so be sure to get extra tortillas to go! The beer here is standard Mexican, so go with a Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Amber. This location used to be a Shoney's back in the day, but they've cleaned it up nicely, and the service was great for a Saturday dinner. I'll definitely be back!
I was looking forward to my visit since the service had been pleasant the last time I was there. For some reason this time was completely different. We ordered dinner, drinks, and an appetizer. They brought us our dinner and I don't think we ever would have got our drinks or appetizer if we had not asked for it (again). To be fair, the food was good, but I had had specifically asked for no cheese and my food was covered with it. I asked for a margarita THREE TIMES and never got it. When we were waiting for our ticket somebody else left angrily because they were tired of waiting for a server. After this experience I probably won't be back.

Skyline Chili

Disclaimer: I love Skyline Chili! Love it. This location showcases it wonderfully. Large open spaces for tables with clear lines between and a comfortable ambiance inside. Clean restrooms to match the rest of the clean interior. Service was excellent, she brought us bibs to keep our dress clothes clean. Yes, we stopped after an event requiring a suit and tie. Now the food is what you would expect, which is why you go anyways! Delicious and exactly what you love.
First time here, really have no complaints to speak of. Restaurant was clean, service was good. Food came out looking exactly as pictured. The chili has a taste which I believe is nutmeg, I am not a fan of. Chili should be in no way sweet. Could I eat it yes. Noodles a little over cooked. So to wrap it up, I give the restaurant 5 stars, I was just not a fan of the taste of the chili. But we had to try it!!!!
Meh... That's all I have to say about the food. For a restaurant that specializes in chili, it should serve something better than chili akin to frozen block institutional chili. I got the chili burrito that came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a huge pile of cheddar on top. The worst part? The chili! My wife ordered a Greek salad, something I don't really associate with chili. The salad was OK and pretty standard. My son had the children's spaghetti which looked like noodles lightly coated with chili sauce. The best thing on the menu would have to be the funnel fries! Funnel cakes made into bite size pieces and covered with powered sugar. Quite tasty! On the plus side the restaurant was clean and spacious. Occasionally a waitress would yell a fry order to the kitchen, something we didn't appreciate. Overall we were underwhelmed and probably won't be coming back.

Not a very clean McDonald's. The trash was over flowing. Behind the counter was a mess. The ice cream was very soft. Outside In the kids play area the tables were dirty and had bird poop on them. One plus was the cashier was very nice.

Happy Dragon

Reviews:
The only reason this place makes me happy is because its gets me outta the work place for an hour every few months. There are certainly better Chinese buffets out there. This one is small and very limited on what it serves. However, its the only place of its kind in the area I work. It gets the job done when the lunch time hunger hits.
We tried the Happy Dragon today for the first time today. The buffet was small and was limited on selections. The price was $6.75 per person. The food was good overall. The crab Rangoon was good size and tasted great! They also has a chocolate fountain the kids liked.
nice chinese buffet. Food is always fresh. Friendly staff. Nice price.

Taco Bell

71 Broadway Street
Dry Ridge, 41035
Reviews:
Worst Taco Bell / KFC I have ever been to. 37 minutes in the drive thru. Food was prepared as if it were thrown from across the room. Taco's had 3 little slivers of lettuce in them and maybe a pinch of cheese. Stale, chewy empty shells with grease soaked bottoms. The Taco Bell in Florence KY on Mall Rd is great! This place however is defiantly the WORST!
Horrible service! I ordered two cheese quesadillas with no jalapeño sauce, and specifically asked for extra melty cheese. Super simple request, but I get both back with barely melted cheese. I could have melted it better in my microwave at home! Ugh, so I go inside ask them to remake them, then ask for manager. Who is dismissive and borderline rude with a hint of sarcasm. I've never had this problem with ANY other Taco Bell. Of course it came out again barely melted, and since I hate confrontation I chose to leave instead of complaining. So I will never return to this location despite it being the closet Taco Bell in 20 miles of my town. The quesadilla and the service left a bad taste in my mouth
