Wonderful establishment. 8pm dinner reservation, 78 degrees maybe, sat outside and had Rose Prosecco followed by the cheese plate. Wonderful assortment, the Fig sauce was rad. We had the pork chops, the scallops, and hanger steak. I think these guys excel at sauces. I was tasting hints of curry in many of the dishes, I think but im not sure... but i think i was tasting homemade garam masala. What I like about this place is the flavors just keep going and going. The staff was wonderful, fun, and really made the night perfect. Thank you so much and I'll be back.

Now have had two straight excellent meals here, over two different seasons. Whether it's the beet salad, the greens salad, the scallops small plate, the bison entree, the bone-in pork loin entree, the brownie dessert, or any number of other choices, we have yet to have a dud. Flavors are well developed, there's a variety of textures on every plate, and visual presentation is very well done. Prices for starters are ridiculous bargains. Entree prices are still good for the quality. The staff is gracious, friendly, and seem to enjoy being here. The small size of the place and the space between tables makes it perfect for conversations over dinner. Lively, but not too loud. Wish they had a few more wine choices by the glass, but that's the only nitpicky thing I can think of that's a down side. We'll be back... again and again and again.

Truly an incredible dining experience. Indoor seating as well as outdoor when the weather is nice. We didn't find anything on the menu that wasn't incredibly fresh, and decadently delicious. Very complex flavors that worked extremely well together, entrees as well as deserts. Outstanding wine selection and service!! This place is a winner!!!

Hit and miss- I know Steven is a good chef - we've eaten there a lot- but have had some downright bad food- fish tacos- the mahi mahi was unseasoned and dry. squash blossoms- so oil soaked couldn't tell they were squash blossoms, carrot cake that looked and tasted the consistency of a kitchen sponge. And the wine list has gone downhill- the more they thrive the less they have to perform I guess- if you're lucky you get great food- but honestlySteven is no Mark Bodenstein. But this is Kentucky so I guess we should be thankful for someplace that mostly good food but I've lived a lot of places and this is no longer a 4 star much less 5 star restaurant- sorry guys

A wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is deliciously rich. I took a chance and tried a glass of Petite Syrah and it was also delicious. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. You definitely get what you pay for.

My brother and I stumbled upon this restaurant last night after the Wine Festival. We loved the massive wine list, the service (managing our expectations about the longer wait) and the AMAZING meal. Both of us had different appetizers, entrees and deserts and we both raved that this was the meal we would choose as our all-time favorite meal and would like as our proverbial last meal. This was completely unexpected from a restaurant I had yet to hear of (I've lived here 2.5 years). To say this was my favorite meal ever is no small feat - I moved here from NYC where I've had amazing meals and until last night my favorite was from the restaurant at the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas. I had the Farmer's Salad (watermelon, pickled onions, feta, grapes, etc.) to start. The Filet Mignon was not short of perfection. Medium rare on a bed of creamed corn, mushrooms (which i usually hate) and Brussell Spouts (BEST EVER). It melted in my mouth and was sooo full of flavor. For dessert, I chose the Carrot Cake with Ginger Ice Cream. Best I've ever had. My brother had and recommends the Cheese Plate, the Flank Steak with Avocado and Chimichurri Sauce, and the Chocolate dessert. It was my brother's first time to Kentucky and he said he wants to fly back JUST to eat at this restaurant again! You will not be dissapointed!

I shared an amazing 2nd year anniversary here with my boyfriend recently. We had great friendly service and an amazing 5 course meal with wine. The place was more than accomodating, saving us the most secluded table for two and even making us our own "bouquet" of flowers to take with us!!!! the food was the best part, we ate every bite, the quinoa is to die for!!!!!

The food was really good, as was the service, until we try to redeem our Eat Local Cincy card. They wouldn't take it, even though they appeared on the list of restaurants when I received the card last month as a Christmas gift. No apology offered by the manager. Not cool!

Started out with the only beer I like but never can find... Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Most foods are locally sourced. great eclectic atmosphere.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati and it is also 5th on Cincinnati Magazine's latest list. It is cozy, has a fabulous wine list, and the local and organic food is delicious. The menu, while not large, changes with the seasons. Last time we were there, I had the Spring Vegetable Quinoa and Sea Scallops. Both blew me away and I do love the wine list too much. It is hard to stick with the same wine as they offer so many great wines by the glass and bottle.

I must say that Bouquet has floated under my radar until the most recent Cincinnati magazine. My wife and I and our good friends ate here over the weekend. It was a really great first experience. Our waitress/bartender/ (Jessica) was the highlight. I can't say enough about someone who is able to articulate their menu well. Not only did she have specific recommendations but she knew the exact temperature the "55 minute" egg was souveed at. She made me 3 cocktails that were fantastic and that I am still thinking about 2 days later. As for the food. All was really good but I don't think anything was out of this world. We tried about 65% of the menu between us all and I will be going back for the other 35%. There was definitely a hint of Indian spices in most of the dishes but not overwhelming if your not a fan of those spices. All in all I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet gem.

Tonight was my last night in town, and I had a really hard time deciding between my new favorite restaurant, Otto's (right next door) or Bouquet which had also been suggested by someone sitting next to me on the plane. I decided I needed to try Bouquet because I knew I'd regret it if I didn't. I AM SO GLAD I WENT! The food was fantastic. I had the beet salad, followed by the Organic Salmon filet with lemon confit, broccolini, and served over risotto. I added the sparkling rose with homemade banana ice cream with vanilla wafers for dessert. All in all, it was amazing. The portions are perfect, not too big so you can enjoy each bite of every dish. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend Bouquet, and although I walked in without reservations it filled up quickly and I think everyone that came through had reservations, so probably a good idea to make them in advance.

Flank steak was tough and void of flavor, paddle fish was nothing special. too bad the rice that came with the fish was the hilight. Portions were very small. I understand it's Restaurant Week, but this is when you show off. Server were not very friendly. Maybe I expected too much. We will give it one more try.

This place was ok. I had the lamb shank with celeriac mashed potatoes. The lamb shank was small or the bone was huge because there wasn't much to eat. Croissant bread pudding was awesome!

Yum! I came here a few weeks ago for a lite bite during "Happy Hour" (which happens to my fave hour of the day!) and I was pleasantly surprised with this neighborhood gem. During happy hour they have half priced "small plates". I had the crab cake, which had a delightful southwest flavor and the romaine salad that had delicious blackened pecans, bleu cheese and this amazing house-made vinaigrette. I will definitely be coming back and look forward to the warmer weather and the prospect of lingering over a nice bottle of wine on the patio/sidewalk.

Made a reservations for 8 arrived at 750 and were seated promptly. Very nice atmosphere with clean white linen everywhere on the tables and a nice gas fireplace on the wall by the bar. The server we had was great. She was quick, responsive, helpful, and even chatted with us foe a few minutes. Her knowledge of all the menus was excellent, any server that can hang in a beer conversation with me is a Good one. We ordered a carafe of the cheapest Riesling and it was still great. For our meal my girlfriend ordered the bone in pork loin and it was amazing. The dish came with suateed sweet potatoes and brusselsprouts which might have been the best vegetables I have ever eaten. I ordered two small plates. One was the pork belly with a very rich and delicious quail egg on top That really offset the salty pork perfectly. My second plate was two small scallops with whole green beans. Scallops Were moist and tender and very tasty. The bill came out to 65 bucks with both our meals at 23 a piece and our 15 dollar carafe of good wine. Very reasonable for the quality you receive. We will definitely be back

One visit does not qualify as a good sampling of a restaurant's quality, but maybe it does. I will start off by stating that the service was well above average and about right for a restaurant with an upscale casual flair. Our waiter knew the dishes well and offered cogent descriptions and recommendations based on our questions. The halibut was fine but the pork chop was not as succulent as I had hoped it would be but dry and very thick. I love pork chops but was not inspired by this one. I could not finish it. The house "carriage salad" was good but not five star. The appetizer of warmed mixed olives was a nice way to start. With one bar drink and three glasses of wine, our bill with tip came to $100. Our experience this first visit would not place Bouquet in the top 10 but it really needs a second try. It is a popular place. The tables are small so be prepared for an intimate evening.

Wow!!! I'm not sure that I've had food this good... period! We heard about this place from some foodie friends and decided to give it a shot. I had a small crab cake plate with the soup of the day, beet soup. The crab cake was just amazing, and I didn't even know that I could like beets. My husband had the Flank Steak. We both loved the meal. Homemade ice cream and great wine added to the experience. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

Tried Bouquet last night for the first time. 5pm was the only reservation available for Saturday night and the hostess recommended calling at least a few days in advance next time to get a prime-time spot (they only have 12 tables). We didn't mind an early dinner, and our server was attentive and allowed us to dine at a leisurely pace. He brought us warm, freshly baked rolls with rosemary honey butter and our appetizers arrived shortly after. We started by sharing the crab cake, which was full of chunks of crab - I loved the warm kale, corn and radish salad that accompanied the dish. Between the four of us, we tried one of each of their salads, and all were stellar - unique combinations of vegetables and huge flavor. For entrees, three of us opted to substitute tofu as our protein - a vegetarian-friendly option that we greatly appreciated. While the tofu could have used a bit of extra seasoning, the root vegetable and Brussels sprouts accompaniment was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The one meat-eater among us thoroughly enjoyed his tri-tip dish as well. Bouquet earns high marks for serving local fare and providing vegetarian diners many delicious options - a lovely dining experience overall.

Bouquet is a new, small restaurant located in Mainstrasse. From the outside, you would assume this couldn't have much more to offer than half the restaurants you could wander into in the Covington/Cincinnati area, but the restaurants curb-appeal is far understating what you will find inside. With a decor that is simple and sophisticated and wait-staff that are eager to please, you'd never expect the food to be, in my opinion, on par with the posh Jean Robert Pigall's and Boca. The lamb was probably the best I've ever had (and I'm a bit of a lamb connoisseur). The small sampling I had of the scallops and beef tips deserved rave reviews as well. The seasoning on all of three dishes was done to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation picture perfect and the timing was excellent. Prices, for the quality of the food, were very reasonable as well ($18-30). Overall, this restaurant may be the best kept secret in the area.

Maybe I don't get out that much but this place scored big with several best ever entrées. The kale salad was the best. The asparagus soup was the best. The pork chop was the best and my wife thought her steak was the best. The mix of the herbs and vegetables to enhance main meat were very well done! Any one going to Cincinnati should try this place.

My wife and I celebrate our anniversary this past week, and a friend recommended this local place. I checked up reviews on yelp, as I usually do, and decided it was worth a shot. When we arrived, we were seated, but not asked about the reservation I had made already on OpenTable. Really this wouldn't have been a big deal, except I tried to hint that it was our anniversary on the reservation, hoping that there would be some extra recognition, etc. So, if you're looking for an anniversary celebration where the restaurant joins in, you may have to "hint loudly." We ordered two cocktails, the hop water-based ones: very good. I would definitely order the crabcake as a small plate, the tastes involved in that dish were pretty amazing. My wife ordered the risotto with chicken, and it was pretty tasty according to her. I noticed a sign about "best burger" from Cincinnati magazine, so I decided to go with that. It was an average-sized burger, and the meet was tasty. The gentleman who was our server was very professional, and had a sense of humor that didn't go over the top, if you know what I mean. Sometimes the jokes are just a little too much, he was tasteful and clever. I'd say this place is worth a try - The one thing I could point out from the beginning was that my wife did not want to eat inside because of how dark the dining room was. The outdoor seating was typical to MainStraus - that is an option while it's still warm. Hope this helps!

My husband and I met another couple here for an early dinner on a Monday evening. It was easy enough to find and there was ample parking in the lot next to the restauant. It is a small restaurant so I would definitely recommend making reservations. There are some tables outside also. The place was hopping by the time we left on a Monday night. One of the reasons we chose Bouquet is because we saw on their website that it is vegetarian and vegan friendly. They had some good options and the chef was accommodating. I would have liked to have seen more vegan options on the menu, but I'll take what I can get. I ordered the sautéed vegetables for my starter and they were good. My husband had the crab cake and a kale salad. I tried the salad and it was delish. Three of us had the sesame crusted tofu which was tasty. The brussels sprouts were excellent. If you only get one side, get the brussels. One person had the halibut and said it was good. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend dining at Bouquet.

Everything started out so well with the cheese/meat plate for my group of three last Monday but it quickly went down hill. My husband has some food intolerances so we bring a little business card with things that he shouldn't eat so that we can be informed if we try to order something with those things in the dish. The waitress/kitchen INSISTED on making him something special ela carte so we were pleasingly surprised and excited to know they would go the extra mile for him. Another server brought us our food and we didn't see our waitress again for 20 minutes; if we had, we would have told her that my pork chop was severely over salted. By far though, the worse offender was the tofu dish (THAT IS ALREADY ON THE MENU) that the kitchen gave my husband. It's bad enough that he hates tofu (and can eat a lot of the meats on the menu), it's even worse that they charged us $25 for it. We'll never be back.

This place is something to try out, whether you're in the city or not. I came here after a next stop after drinking and watching the Germany vs. Brazil game in FIFA. After that killer game, and several drinks across the street, we were told to come here and get the burger. They said that it would be a very good burger. Walking in, it felt as if it was a high class/french-esque kind of ambiance. I felt underdressed. So, that should give you an idea of what you should wear while coming in here. The service was wonderful and they were all really helpful. For appetizers, we tried out the crab cakes, and for the main course I had the Burger. The presentation for the restaurant was impressive. I thought it brought the feeling of high class, but at the same time it helped with making me hungry. The burger came with a small portion of potatoes that were seasoned well. The burger wasn't bad, but I've also had better before. With the mix of alcohol swimming in my system, it definitely was awesome at the time. If I'm in town, I will probably check out this place again. If it's you're first time... You should come here.

Delicious, creatively combined fresh foods with beautiful presentation. Everything looked and tasted amazing. My waitress was very attentive and everyone was very accommodating to food preferences (ie no dairy for me and vegan for the table next to me.) I tried new foods here: fiddlehead fern and a type of spring onion-type thing...they were happy to answer questions and I always love trying a new food!!

At my most recent visit to Bouquet, which was my third time, I was happily surprised that they have a number of gluten free items that aren't necessarily advertised. If you get the cheese board they have rice crackers. The sweet potato flatbread is also gluten free and hit the spot. I've had their steak and salmon as well and was equally pleased with both. They also try to source locally whenever possibly which is reflected in the taste of their dishes. Great wine and bourbon selection and cute outdoor seating. Bouquet is a go to for consistently good and intimate dining.

Artisanal cheese plate with charcuterie is always nice. The wait staff was just so friendly and we felt so welcomed here. Being in the city of Covington and outdoors give you a wonderful taste of the city. My husband and I had the cheese plate with two glasses of red wine and it was lovely. We will definitely come here again.

I don't know why it took me so long to visit Bouquet but now that i've been there you can bet I will be a regular. Covington offers a lot of unique dining choices and I am really impressed with how the area has developed for food lovers. Bouquet promotes a farm-to-table concept which is not new but the menus can be intimidating for some diners. However, If you enjoy excellently prepared, fresh food you will love the experience. We hadn't planned to dine here but decided at the last minute to check it out. It was Mardi Gras weekend in Covington and that was entertaining in itself and enjoyed a wacky parade while enjoying our wine. They are often booked weeks in advance, so if you really want to check it out, hop on one line and make a reservation. Their web site was recently updated and it is worth checking out, especially to learn more about their local providers. We snuck in at the bar and was delighted to be taken care of by the co-owner. The dining room downstairs was very cozy and full of happy diners. The upstairs has been recently renovated and it is gorgeous, expanding room for more diners and a second bar.In honor of Mardi Gras we started with the Gumbo and it was delicious. We both chose the salmon which was prepared over wild rice with shiitake mushrooms, bell peppers, mustard greens, Meyer lemon tarragon sauce. As usual, I had no room for desert but I chose a second glass of wine instead. I am looking forward to coming back and hanging out at Bouquet and think I will enjoy even a small bite and a glass of wine if I'm not in the mood for a meal. I love the opportunity to graze through a Friday night so next time I will start next door at Otto's and finish up at Bouquet. Hope to see you there!! Bon Appétit Red Pearl

It's been a few years since we visited Bouquet, we decided to stop in last Friday and had a wonderful visit. Our server was friendly and knowledgable, she was attentive without constantly being around. We decided to share everything so we could sample a few dishes. We started with the crab cake and the sweet potato flatbread then split the burger. The crab cake was definitely my favorite. The cake itself had a bit of spice to it, but summer squash purée complimented it perfectly. Little bits of pickled watermelon were a surprising and yummy touch. The sweet potato flatbread was interesting but tasty as well. Smokey mole, sweet apples and rich pork were a great combination. The burger was juicy and seasoned well, but the pickles were my favorite on the plate. Clearly house made. Some may think Bouquet is pricey, but you can still enjoy their fantastic food on a budget. I had 2 glasses of wine and my man had a couple beers and we were still under 70 bucks. Can't beat it! Support your local businesses and give Bouquet a try!

I booked our reservations almost a week in advance. I tried making reservations the weekend before and it was already booked pretty much through the weekend so they seem to book up well in advance. My husband and I were looking forward to trying this highly rated restaurant and having a romantic dinner. We chose a Riesling wine that the server recommended that was excellent. I had the steak dish and my husband ordered their sea bass special they were offering. Our food was very good and beautifully presented. This is the type of restaurant that is about quality and presentation. The one thing that was disappointing for us was that we were seated right beside the bar. It was a very high traffic area right near the entrance. During our dinner the bar was packed with people which really detracted from any romantic ambiance we were hoping to experience.

WOW WOW WOW!! I'm speechless. What an amazing restaurant. I'm originally from NKY but have been away for years. In town and went out with the parents for dinner. What an incredible spot. Wine selections are great. The menu is all local markets and farms which I think is just awesome. Started with the split pea soup and asparagus salad mom and I split. Amazing. Mom and dad had the halibut. I had the pork chop. Husband had the steak. We all sampled each others and nothing was bad. Seriously the best pork chop I've ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked. The portion wasn't outrageously big. The vegetables were incredibly fresh. For dessert mom and I shared the creme brule which again....outstanding. Service was really great. Brian took care of us and he did a fantastic job. He suggested great wines and knew the food well. He wasn't over the top. Just perfectly polite and efficient. I really can't say enough great things. You just have to see for yourself. Oh and prices are very reasonable. Casual and comfy with upscale food.

It's a good meal but not a top 10. The space is an old house, nothing more. Traditional, safe Cincy menu. Great Smoked bourbon drink. Food was well prepared and tasty just not in an elite class. Service was great.

Food is amazing. Nice sized portions. Great atmosphere for a date night. We would come back for sure. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly! I would give this place a 4.5/5.

Last night was opposite night for me. I ordered chicken at a nice restaurant for the first time in about 25 years and had a white wine. I taught myself that I should wander off the "defaults" more often. Non-menu related... I called to ask for tips on finding a parking spot and whoever answered the phone went out on the street and tipped me off that a spot opened up right in front of the restaurant. I was able to lock my car from my table. :) We arrived early and they were able to seat us without a problem. It was a Thursday night after all. The waitress was "excellent"! (said w/ best Mr Burns impression which is an inside joke.) Extreemly helpful w/ the wine picks, great service all night. As an extreem carnivore I found the best part of the meal was the veggies! OK, mine had some bacon in them so... that might explain my enthusiasm. The chicken was juicy and delicious. I told the waitress every time she came back that it was dry and she figured out fast that I was to be ignored. My wife's pork chop was equally delicious but it was a little on the salty side. Her veggies were equally delicious. The salad we split was insanely ecclectic and tasty. Don't order the sweet potato flatbread because you may be temped to cancel your entre and order three more. A fantastic blend of flavors and textures. The Creme Brule melts in your mouth and rans down your throat. The best bread pudding I ever had was in Aspen, CO, and still is, however, the bread pudding here was in a different category and was delicious. OK, when nobody was looking I scraped the plate w/ my finger and would have licked it clean if I wasn't sure my wife would have stabbed me with a fork for that transgression. We discovered Boquet at the Cinci State culinary fundraiser, 12 kitchens one night, and are so glad that we did. I'll be back!

Bouquet is our destination restaurant. We come to Cinci twice a year and when we do, our first priority is to get our reservation here. We've tried the other finer dining restaurants in the area, but keep coming back to Bouquet. The staff is always so friendly. When we went a week ago, we started at the bar and had their magnificent Cheese Plate and just watched them work. We went upstairs to dine loved every dish. They could have packed in a few more tables, but they kept it far more romantic by not crowding everyone together. Great place and look forward again to our trip in 6 months.

We went for our first year anniversary. It was with such great ease that I got reservations through Open Door and let them know. They knew who I was as I walked in, greeted me by name, and a complimentary glass of champagne. I asked if they could make sure it was a special evening, and we had the time of our lives. Probably one of the most extensive wine lists I have ever seen. Ranging from cheap to expensive, depending on your taste. They actually reserved us 2 tables so that we could choose our atmosphere (outdoor vs. inside). Roughly $25 per entree but it was a great cuisine. We also got greeted by the chef and had to compliment him on this fantastic dishes. My man said it was the best steak he ever had....

Bouquet is a great place! The atmosphere is fantastic. It is a intimate and quiet restaurant with a very welcoming feel. It is a great place for an anniversary dinner or a date night. There is also a second dining room up stairs that can accommodate groups. There is a good sense of confidence in the quality of the service and food that won't leave you feeling intimidated. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is absolutely amazing! A smaller menu boasts incredible quality food. There is nothing that hasn't been amazing that I have had. They source their ingredients locally and are great quality. For the quality it is very well priced. You can tell everything is made fresh by a chef and not just a cook making pre made food. The wine and beer list is very good as well. I am a beer guy and a little bit of a wine guy. They don't have draft beer but have a good selection of local craft beers. The wine list is pretty good with a good price range. You can find affordable good wine or more expensive wines. This is my favorite place to eat in the Cincinnati area and is a great small business. I will regularly be visiting and recommending.

Having just arrived back from a cross country flight and hungry for some truly good food, I figured I would treat myself to the best restaurant within walking distance to my house. I am starting to become a regular as I enjoy the food so much. What is amazing, I have been there multiple times with a hodgepodge of individuals and not once had the food even been average, it is always top notch and last night was no exception. My brother and I arrived around 7 with no reservation but there was plenty of seating to be had. I started off with some sort of squash thingy and my brother had the cheese please. I was unsure what exactly I was eating but it was tasty. The cheeses were excellent as always. When we asked where they sourced their cheeses, we received a cryptic "some guy in Louisville" and it was left at that. :). I needed to unwind a bit so ordered a dirty martini with extra olives. It came out made perfectly. If I had to find something to criticize, I'd have to reach and say I wished the drink would have been in a regular martini glass instead of a short stubbed glass but I'm a bit old school is enjoying alcoholic drinks :) I ordered the wild salmon special they had on a bed of rice and it was brilliant. The top was very slightly charred just to give it a different texture from the moist, succulent, delicious body of the fish. No fish smell and it tasted as if it was caught just a few hours prior. One of the better pieces of fish I have had in a long time! I also had the bourbon creme brûlée (usually have it every time I eat there) and the bourbon taste was just right, not overpowering but teasing you with soft hints of the flavor. The fresh fruit on top (strawberries and blue berries) add to the flavor. My brother ordered the Kobe burger plain, nothing on it. He then substituted brussel sprouts and green beans instead of the sweet potato truffle fries. Why? I'll never know but he did :). What I love about Bouquet is there wasn't an absurd up charge or even a "nope, can't do that". They said not a problem and it was done. I would have to put Bouquet in the top 3 places to eat in the greater Cincinnati area and the price point is not bad. I've paid a lot more for a lot worse throughout the city! Highly recommend going!!

This was our second trip to Bouquet; the first more than a year ago. Over that time, we had told everyone who would listen about our wonderful experience. Needless to say the second visit came with some pretty high expectations, real and imaginary. Bouquet delivered. I was very glad to see the restaurant had annexed another dining area. The atmosphere were comfortable and friendly. The food was beautiful and delicious. The one awkward issue was our server, who didn't seem to know how to handle some spilled water on the menu (he used his thumb to smear it off???). Beyond that, he was more than accommodating, even suggesting off menu options when we wanted to sample lots of dishes. Bouquet lived up to our own hype. We will return, hopefully, in less than a year this time. Again, we will extort everyone we see about this gem in Covington.

I literally can't get enough of this place. The portion sizes are perfect along with an excellent wine selection. This is our go to place in the Cincinnati area. The menu prices are very affordable and dessert is always a must. The chef/owner has made this place into a fresh, local establishment serving ingredients from the farmers markets and beef from A Kentucky farm. A must try...

One of my all time favorite restaurants. I live out of state but anytime I'm passing through Cincy, I always make a point to stop overnight and have dinner at Bouquet. There are a handful of hotels on or near the river in Covington within walking distance to the restaurant in the nearby historical Mainstrasse area. The crab cake is killer, I order it every time. Its served on a small bed of some kind of bacon celery succotash which I also inhale every bit of. Last couple times I came through it was Thursday which is burger night with meat from Butcher Betties. Everyone who works here is pretty awesome which makes stopping in all the better. Love Bouquet and will keep coming back.

Bad. That best describes my experience here. I had been dying to try this place because of all the rave reviews I have read, but when I got there, it was just ok. The place is tiny - so make reservations. The menu was eclectic, which I love, but I think it is too eclectic for their own good. Not all of the flavors mixed together. I actually almost sent my dinner back because of this. My boyfriend ordered steak, which was cooked medium rare instead of medium well, and they cut in into pieces, so we couldn't send that back because they would have to start with a brand new steak. Why did they cut it?? I have no idea. Our waitress seemed very disinterested in helping us, and I am pretty sure she forgot about us because we had to chase down our check. And find her again to take the credit card. We spent a few dollars on dinner, and I left there hungry. This is not a place I will go back to.

My girlfriend and I went to Bouquet for dinner on New Year's Eve and we started a new tradition that night. After using OpenTable to make reservations, we had a table waiting for us within minutes of arriving. The atmosphere was amazing. It felt very similar to the small, intimate, niche restaurants I favor in Manhattan. Our server (his name escapes me) was PHENOMENAL. Knew the wine list and the menu better than any server I've had. His wine recommendation was the first wine I've ever seen my girlfriend not just enjoy, but rave about. But the real key to the magic of Bouquet was the steak. The bistro steak was the single best price of beef I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Perfectly medium rare, bursting with flavor and a subtle richness that flirted with sublime. Please, please go to Bouquet. This is now my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati and I CANNOT a wait to return for round two.

Love the wines, food people and service at Bouquet. It's a wonderful place, newly expanded on the 2nd floor with more table. A real gem.

I had dinner here on a Monday night during a business trip as a single diner. The service was impeccable and the food was eclectic and delicious. I had the kale salad, which had toasted pumpkin seeds and apple, a great combination. For my entree, I had the chicken (Statler) Provence which was on a cauliflower puree and had a seasonal veggie medley. Nicely done with perfect seasonings. Wine list is limited but decent selection. I highly recommend reservations. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy.

My husband and I went to Bouquet for drinks and dessert a few years ago and had an amazing experience. The bartender was very helpful in picking interesting dessert wines. The croissant bread pudding was delicious. Rich like you expect bread pudding but not too thick and with more interesting texture. Bouquet has been on our list of restaurants to go to for dinner since then, but for some reason, it took a while. My in-laws offered to take us to a nice dinner for my birthday and Bouquet seemed like the right place. Convenient, special and not too snooty. Ambiance - The restaurant is small and cozy. The decor is simple but elegant. Despite the size, you do not feel as though you are on top of the next table. Service - The hostess was very friendly. Our server came to our table quickly for our drink and starters. Of course, I wasn't ready because I take forever to decide anything so she came back a few minutes later. Our appetizer and salads came out at the perfect time, but the wait between the salads and the entree seemed a little too long. Luckily, I like my in-laws and I had a glass of wine, so it was not uncomfortable. Again, after dinner we waited for dessert longer than I would have liked. Although maybe I only cared because I was done with my wine and the conversation had turned to politics. Overall, the service was great and, without those little waits, would have been perfect. Food - We started with some small plates to share. The sweet potato flat bread was tasty but the sweet potato was overpowered by the cheese. The crust was perfectly crisp. There were very few beets in the baby beet salad. Most of the flavor was in the kale and cheese but it was still delicious, so who care about beets anyway? My father-in-law ordered the green beans Caesar and his favorite part was the fried capers. I tried one and they were awesome. I enjoyed that the server later told us the recipe. For entrees, I ordered the hanger steak with fingerling potatoes and ginger carrot puree. My husband ordered the Kentucky Bison with purple potatoes and carrots. My in-laws ordered game hen with blackberries and brussel sprouts and the striped bass with fennel and edamame. Of the four dishes, (I tasted all four) the striped bass was my favorite but I would have been happy with any of the four. The presentation was beautiful without going over the top and the combinations were interesting and worked nicely. Dessert was the chocolate brownie with praline shell, lemon pound cake with blueberries and rhubarb, and, of course, croissant bread pudding. My father-in-law tried to order tea, but they didn't have any. I thought it was odd, surely he isn't the only person who prefers tea to coffee. It wasn't a big deal, he was quickly raving about dessert and not caring about tea. Overall, everything was wonderful. And maybe the only reason this is getting four stars and not five, is because I didn't drink enough wine to not notice the lull before dinner and before dessert. I will definitely be back.

This place was incredible. We stumbled upon it after having a not so good experience at a restaurant down the street. The service was wonderful they were very knowledgable about their menu and wine pairings and presented themselves in a friendly way. Their food was excellent. We had a difficult time choosing from all of their unique options. We were both very pleased and have already recommended this restaurant to several friends.

A very cute restaurant in the heart of Mainstrasse. As with so many restaurants in the area, the food and service is top notch, but just a little more expensive than I would like. We shared 2 apps and a dinner. The rabbit stuffed ravioli was good but very expensive at $11 for 3 ravioli. The sweet potato flatbread was excellent too, but also too pricey at $10. The Chicken Provence ($16) was out of this world! It was one of the best chicken entrees I have ever had. I definitely recommend it for your dinner. So, your total bill is going to be more than you would probably like to spend, but this would be a good romantic night out for a birthday, anniversary, or date.

Hubby and I had a wonderful meal here last night. Started with gespacho. It was everything it should be - tastes of fresh tomato, cucumber and spices - cool and refreshing with an addition of cornbread crumbles that was wonderful. Next was squash blossoms with amaranth on a bed of grilled corn and beans at the recommendation of our server - delicious, flavorful and a surprising. Next a green salad - lightly dressed, just how I like it. For our main course hubby had the pork and I had the halibut. Hubby's pork was juicy and generous. My halibut was cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful. The halibut was on a bed of edamame with a ginger miso sauce that was amazing! We finished by sharing the chocolate strawberry dessert that was the perfect topper to our meal. Our server was friendly, attentive and gave great suggestions. It was the perfect first meal out for a couple of new empty nesters! We will definitely be back.

Oh my friggin' god. This place was awesome. Tried the steak and everything was excellent. Don't be afraid to try your meat in the suggested rareness because everything was great. The sides were also matched everything very well.

The service was great on our second visit. The food was absolutely fabulous (again). They were offering filet mignon which I tried. The meat was of excellence texture and taste. I only wished there was a bit more seasoning on the surface. House wine was reasonable at $6/glass.

This place is fantastic! A friend and I stumbled in here for a late light dinner one night after we were leaving the Carnegie. We loved everything about it! The decor is simple and lovely. Reminded me of my NYC roots. Food was delicious. I had the crab cake which was outstanding. It was so good that I came back with another friend two days later - just had soup and wine that night - sat at the bar. And it was once again, perfect.

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday dinner and I loved this place beginning to end. I love how small and cozy it is inside - only fits about 50 people including the bar area. We had reservations but were running behind and called in to move us 30 minutes later and it was not a problem. We had our pick of 3 tables when we arrived. I would say for a larger group a reservation is definitely needed on the weekend but if it's just 2 people, you shouldn't have an issue walking in. We started with the squash and goat cheese appetizer special. It was super tiny but tasty and beautiful. I love how they list on their menu wee they source their food from. A majority comes from local Kentucky farmers and the Findlay market. The salmon (New Zealand) and scallops (New England) were the only non local items. I went with the filet mignon special done medium rare with turnips, some other veggies, and celery root sauce. It was fantastic! I haven't had filet mignon in over 2 years (the last time I had it was at Lindeys in Columbus and it was way too salty and turned me off) but I was craving it and I knew this was the place to have it. Perhaps iron deficient? I was so happy it didn't come with the cliche mashed potatoes (I mean au gratin) and asparagus or broccoli. So boring. Boyfriend had the pork and said it was pretty good. Not the best but good. It was massive - like the size of his face. Against my boyfriends wishes I ordered dessert (he planned to take me to Abigail st for dessert) because it was likely all the wine talking. I had their pumpkin Ice cream thing special and it was just okay. Actually kind of bland. Service was fantastic. Bathroom is awkwardly placed right between tables. Better not drop a deuce in there!

Wow, what a fantastic meal! Definitely worth the short drive across the river from downtown Cincinnati. Strongly recommend the cheese plate (four spectacular cheeses with great fruity accents and crispy toast), warm olives (best ever, made even better with a little orange zest), soup of the day (ours was a curry mushroom that made us completely rethink our long-standing avoidance of Indian spices), and crab cake (rich, salty, moist, maybe the best I've ever had) ...all deliciously amazing. Dessert was inexpensive and decadent, a warm chocolate brownie with a crispy wafer and ice cream. Extensive wine list and very reasonable bottle prices. Our waiter Brandon gave us just the right amount of attention and timed the food arrivals perfectly. *Easily* a 5 star restaurant without any hesitation. Can't say enough good things about Bouquet, we'll absolutely be visiting it again the next time we're in Cincinnati!

Bouquet was recently voted as the 5th best restraint in the city by Cincinnati Magazine, which is a pretty darn good honor. I'd never been to the spot before last night, but I can now honestly say, it's everything you'd want out of a fine dining night out. We made a reservation for 8pm and it's a good thing we did, since this place is tiny. It's a small one room spot that can't hold more than 30 tables - and even that might be generous. The chef told me later that they have plans to expand it out and make it a multi-floor restaurant, but for now, it's worth it to make a reservation. The atmosphere is lovely. It's mood-lit dark with a beautiful bar when you walk in and tables to the back. It feels intimate from the moment you walk in. We were there to try the three-course special for Restaurant Week and everything was amazing. Split pea soup? Delicious. House greens with pickled onions. Fantastic. Flank steak and hash. Honestly, couldn't be better. They even did wine pairings with it all to match the meal, which was spectacular. Everything is so fresh and well prepared, it's just amazing. Obviously, this is not the cheapest restraint in the world. Even with the special, we still paid about $45 a person, and that's on the cheap end for sure. However, for a treat of a night out, especially on a date, I can't think of a better spot.

Food was delicious! I had the scallops, friend had the burger special and both were amazing. Service was great, just the right amount of attentiveness. The only thing that kept it from being 5 star for me was the ambiance. It's super romantic and quiet, which is great for that kind of night, but it was my birthday and I'd rather have a more lively atmosphere. I'll definitely go back, but probably for a date night instead of dinner with friends.

Booked a table here when I was visiting my Mom through Open Table since I'm a huge foodie and love wine too. Good start. When we arrived, the waiter guessed exactly who we were let us pick our own table. I love that. He remained attentive during our whole meal without being overly attentive (if that makes sense..) and gave great wine pairing tips to everyone in our party. Wine selection ended up being fantastic. The appetizers and food were, simply put, wonderful. My stepdad and mother both had the carrot soup while I had the sweet potato flatbread (cooked on it's own cedar plank..awesome) that were tasty and perfectly sized appetizers. It's ALWAYS a good sign when little things like the appetizers are outstanding. The main courses were also great. I had lamb which was well seasoned, cooked to perfection. My stepdad enjoyed his halibut and ate every last bit of his meal to prove it. Mom had an asparagus salad since she had a late lunch that also looked outstanding--most importantly, no tough pieces of asparagus. Presentation was also gorgeous. I honestly can't think of even one criticism for our visit. Simply point, food, drink and service were first rate.

Really delicious food in a great setting on the cutest street. Love Covington's bar & restaurant scene! We had a fully array of apps and entrees and the general concensus was that everything was delicious. My husband got chicken and I got the filet (ummm, what kind of twilight zone moment was that? Total role reversal!) and both were outstanding, but my favorite entree was my friends pork chop. Mmmmmm.... Starters were soup, a tomato salad (probably the only thing that didn't blow me away, although it was fresh and light), the sweet potato flatbread, and the Quinoa. The flatbread and Quinoa were amazing. The only thing I didn't love was our wine, and that's not the restaurant's fault! Our server recommended a bottle that she said was popular, but it just tasted "off" to me... of course this was following an Old Fashioned at the Kentucky Bourbon Bar, so maybe it was me that was off! I can't wait to go back!

First off, FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm really suspicious about "farm to table" places like this. Why? Umm because I grew up on a farm which is still in my family and has been for over two decades. SO I'M PUTTING THIS PLACE UNDER THAT EXTRA SCRUTINY. Our personal family garden(s) total about one acre. We also raise that prized over hyped "grass-fed" organic beef; which BTW is good, but I'm not going to rant about it here. Also, the definition of "fresh" is statutory and varies from state to state. So consumers know your laws. Of all the places to choose from, I chose this cute little place to take my gf out to eat for her b-day. We are both out-of-towers. She loved it, but didn't pay the bill. Between drinks, an appetizer, two entrees, a desert, coffee, tip, etc, I dropped pretty close to a bill and a half. I'm glad she liked it because it was her special day. I really liked the inside of the restaurant and its small cozy feeling. We got the special quash and goat cheese appetizer, and I thought it was the best thing all night. It was fantastic and unexpectedly fresh tasting and flavorful. It was as good as any fresh veggie you could get at any restaurant. She got the filet mignon (which was Market Price and very $$$$). I didn't try it. I knew that it would not bedazzle me because I am/was a farmer and hunter. I am spoiled in the way that I can eat fresh fillet from all sorts of fresh farm or game animals (sometimes no more than 2 days old) for little cost, so I generally don't get it out. Plus, there is no possible way it would be as fresh as I eat it. They offered some salmon dish as special, and I knew that it would also not bedazzle me because I lived in Alaska for years and would go out and catch salmon that I would eat that night. The other options were very limited, which I didn't really like, but I'd rather they have a limited menu which is fantastic than a large menu that's average. So I guess that's okay. So, I went with the pork chop. It was one of the most inexpensive items on the list, and it was average (7.5 to 8 out of 10). I also sampled the seasonal pumpkin desert which she ordered. It was not that good and very pricey. The appetizer and my gfs pleasant experience push me to rank this place as a 4.

WOW, this place impressed me! We went with my parents here to celebrate my mom's birthday and it did not disappoint. Everything from the food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. We started with the Sweet Potato Flatbread, so deliious. We all got something different and I tried a little from everyone's plate and it was all really good. We were there on a Thursday which apparently is burger night. I ordered the burger and I have never had a burger with so much flavor, it was like a giant yummy meat ball. My husband got the Kentucky Ribeye and he said it was better than any Jeff Ruby steak he's ever had. My parents got the Salmon and the Sablefish and both were delicious as well. We share a bottle of red wine which was selected by our amazing server Sybilka. She was great too, super friendly and professional. I can't wait to go back when it is warmer to check out the roof top. Also a big plus was that all their ingredients were fresh and they used local farmers, a big plus in my book.

My best friend and I were meeting at a halfway point for a girls weekend. We choose Cincinnati and due to hotel we chose Covington, Ky. I found Bouquet through Open Table and took a risk due to ratings. My friend isn't very adventurous with food and wasn't so sure about the menu. Let me just say, she's STILL talking about our meal that night! The ambiance was warm and inviting from the second we stepped in. The level of customer service made us feel as if Bouquet was our nightly hangout; we felt at home and welcomed like old friends. The wine list and prices are reasonable (there is a selection for every width of wallet). We ordered the cheese plate, the sweet potatoe flatbread and cornish game hen. Whle portions are relatively small (not for me, but rather my friend) each bite was full of flavor and delight that we enjoyed our food, conversation, and good wine. My friend woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the food. I will definitely be back with my foodie husband. Tip: it is a small place, I highly recommend reservations.

Best meal for local ingredients and product. I thought the overall restaurant was gorgeous; good atmosphere and vibe for fine dining. I get a true "country in the city with a refined feel" atmosphere. Food was on the spot delicious using locally sourced ingredients which is much better than other restaurants in the area!

Nice atmosphere and very helpful and friendly waiter. I had the pork chop and beet salad, both of which were excellent. The pork was cooked just right and delicately seasoned. My wife had the trout, which was also perfectly cooked. She thought it was a tad salty, but still loved it. I didn't think it was too salty. She also had curried mushroom soup, which was delectable. Reasonable prices considering the quality of the food. We are going back tonight!

Okay I'm not going to lie, I really think Bouquet is the best restaurant in the tristate area. The sheer value, artistry, and myriad of flavors one can experience in this little wine bar is unparalled. It doesn't have the snooty allure or air of sophisitication on an outward level that other upscale restaurants enjoy, and I think it's this particularly modest demeanor that makes it all the more appealing. The menu is full of items that combine American classics and southern staples with a new-age flair and paniche. Combining the familiar witih something a little bit strange and unique that somehow pushes the dish further and with this slight bending of tradition the dishes enjoy new life. The Sausage Bourbon Biscuit dish somehow molded a dish that can be found on McDonald's breakfast menu into an exquisite sandwich worthy of the gods. I've had crab at well over twenty different restaurants, and yet the crab cake at Bouquet contains just enough little touches and flourishes that it's flavor remains fresh on my mind months after eating there. I love the way the menu changes to utilize the freshest and often locally found ingredients for their dishes. The salmon that I had when I was there was cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside with a incredibly flavorful crust akin to that would be found on much fattier meats, and yet the inside was as medium as as you can possibly get. Flaky, tender, with juice oozing out of each and every incoming slit I made.

Went here for my brother-in-law's birthday. We had a group of kids in our party and, although the restaurant is not what you'd call kid-friendly, they were very accommodating, nevertheless. Our server was absolutely outstanding... and interesting fact: his brother was a Next Iron Chef contestant (Nate Appleman). I suppose the restaurant business is in his blood, and it shows. The food was flavorful, arrived at an appropriate pace, and was generally very well received by everyone at the table. Lastly, the chefs prepared a tasty vegan dish for my father, which was great, as he is often left eating uninspired salads when we dine out at most places. But here they apparently whipped up something which he really enjoyed. All-in-all, food was excellent, but it was the service that brought it to 5-stars.

This was my pick for my birthday dinner this year after reading the review in Cincinnati Magazine and I was pretty happy with the whole experience. The place isn't large, so definitely make reservations for a weekend. Our server was excellent--great recommendations and lots of patience for a very late member of our party (despite her ordering long after all of us, they managed to bring all of the food out at the same time!). Also, a huge plus for dining in Northern Kentucky--100% smoke free. The wine list, as you would hope, is choiceful yet varied. Our server was able to intelligently recommend some great options to meet my requests (side rant: it seems to be increasly rare that servers are actually knowledgeable about the wines their restaurant serves and I find it quite frustrating!). For food, I started with the house salad, which had a delectable dollop of goat cheese on top and lovely dressing with mint in it. My entree was the fillet mignon--ordered medium-rare, served just a little under that, but very good. The sides were actually a highlight with this dish--very fresh and well-seasoned mushrooms and potatoes. Could have actually used a bit more though. My friends' fish dishes (1 salmon and 1 halibut) were apparently disappointing though. For dessert, we shared the croissant bread pudding and seasonal fruit cobbler (apple & peach). I love bread pudding, but their offering was a bit flat for me. The cobbler was a stand-out though, served warm with vanilla ice-cream. They even put a candle in it for my birthday (but a little surprised they didn't comp 1 of the desserts for the occasion). Prices are a bit high for everyday dining, but I think I'd go back for the half-priced small plates (Tues-Thurs, 5-7pm) and a glass of the rose' Prosecco, which was outstanding.

Wow. This place really deserves its "as good as it gets" rating. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who recommended us a champaign and honey to start with (I would really recommend this, it is delicious!). We spent a few minutes at the bar, making conversation with the barmaid, who was really cool and who gave good recommendations. Our table was prepared for 3, with a glass of water waiting for us. We really liked the menus. Not having a crazy amount of choices is the proof that the ingredients are really fresh and that they just focus on a few entrées to do them well rather than to try to do a lot kind of ok. I had the ribs with gnocci as an entree and it was delicious and the right size. I then followed up with the sea scallops, which were amazing, they came with a bit of potato puree and vegetables and I'd order them again every time. In the end, I was convinced to try a dessert and I took the carrot cake, which again, was amazing... To be honest though, I was pretty full after the main course so the dessert was really an extra. Still finished it :) best proof that it was amazing! We spent a great evening here, catching up with colleagues who I hadn't seen in a while. And even when it is a bit pricey, the quality of the food was top. Also, the atmosphere was really intimate and cozy so I could imagine it as a perfect spot for a date or a wedding anniversary (note to self: book for second anniversary!). Even when I live in Covington, I haven't really been exploring Mainstrasse but this experience definitely makes me think I really should! Final 2 points: our waitress told us that everything is prepared fresh and I definitely believe that. And finally, it was easy to leave my bike behind in the front, so I was happy about that too!

My goodness...what a delicious night at Bouquet. I've been here on business this week and this meal made a success of my otherwise dull trip. I went out for a late dinner with a co-worker and sat at the bar. We each ordered a cup of curry mushroom soup, followed by a shared plate of seared sea scallops with butternut squash, green beans, and a celery root & dill puree and another shared plate of a bone-in porkchop with lentils, brussels sprouts, and a maple glaze. Everything was SO delicious, albeit slightly salty for both of our tastes (hence the four stars rather than 5). We also had dessert- a chocolate plate with two truffles, some kind of liquid chocolate, and a dark chocolate pot de creme, bruleed with candied orange zest (the pot de creme was THE best part... to die for). Our other shared dessert was a deconstructed jar pie of the pumpkin variety...also delectable. Service was quick and friendly. All and all, a lovely experience!

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday evening as a group of 4. For appetizers, we shared the heirloom mixed salad, which was a little on the small side but delicious and the Foie Gras which was served on small pieces of crisp bread with a sweet jam - it was really great. For entrees we had the Hangar Steak (and subbed brussel sprouts for the black eyed peas) and the Game Hen. The game hen was 2 small breasts and 2 small legs served atop buttermilk grits with bacon, brussel sprouts, and blackberries - it was rich and amazing - especially the buttermilk grits! I thought the game hen was better than the hangar steak, but both were really tasty - they were different, hard to compare. The hangar steak was a cleaner, lighter dish, and our server prepared us for that. For dessert, we had the carrot cake, which was just okay - I didn't like that it was served cold. One thing I didn't really enjoy - the person serving the water came to our table probably 6 times and asked us if we wanted more water. I appreciated that they were attentive on the water, but I wish he would have just filled up the glasses instead of asking, as it often interrupted the conversation we were having at the table. Also, we ordered wine and our server didn't fill our glasses other than the initial pour, which I thought was kind of strange, so we had empty glasses and were left to pour for ourselves - I would think for a place that calls itself a "wine bar" there would be slightly more attention paid to the wine at the table. Overall, those negative things were really slight and would defnitely not deter me from coming back. The food was great.

Top 10 living up to it's status. Came here to celebrate our 5th anniversary, I had their Tofu dish. Yes, their Tofu. It was delicious. Get over it. The bartender was our server and he was on POINT. Great wine knowledge, and attentive even when taking care of the bar. Dessert was the shizzzz. So, to sum it up for you, come for a drink, come for dinner, or come for dessert. It's a great place to celebrate any occassion.

I am a big fan of Bouquet Restaurant for dinner or just stopping in for a glass of wine and cheese plate. Sitting outside st the sidewalk tables on a nice evening is fun to do also; however, I don't know if I would have a full dinner out there. I wasn't going to write a negative review of my dinner that I had there last nght, but I think I would be doing injustice to the chef and patrons. Last night we had 6:30 reservations and sat at one of the back tables and it was very nice. We were one of the first patrons to arrive for dinner, and by the time we left, the tables were 80% full. It is a small place, so it doesn't take much. When I looked at the menu and saw they were serving Cornish Game Hen, I immediately knew what I was getting. I always see these in the meat store but I have never had one. I was excited as I told our waitress my order. It sounded so lovely. Unfortunately, instead of baking the Hen whole, as it is normally served, the chef cut it up and fried it. So, I basically had small peices of fried chicken. It was also overcooked and dry. I struggled through dinner with what to do. I wasn't enjoying the 'chicken' and I couldn't even eat the vegtable mixture that was underneath because it was way more than aldente. I wanted to tell the waitress my issue just so the chef knew, but I didn't want to seem like I was complaining. So, I only had a couple bites of my food and left there still hungry. However, the wine we had was excellent. I'm just sad that I didn't like my dinner. Moral of this story - when ordering a Cornish Game Hen, always ask how the chef will be preparing it.

We go there a few times each year as the menu changes - once again, no let down. Great place to bring work associates, family, or for a nice romantic dinner. Food was amazing yet again. Everyone at our table had a different dish and we all agreed it was top notch. Flavors blended in an amazing way. Service was very good also - have never had a bad service experience here.

Went to Bouquet this past Saturday for a date night with my wife. Date nights without kids are amazing in general but the food and service (our waiter was Josh) was amazing! Josh was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks so we felt comfortable with allowing him to make suggestions for our dinning experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for a great night out or special occassion. When you make your reservation ask for Josh, he really made the experience--great Customer Service.

Wow! Last night was my first time at this restaurant and it was really really good. I had the hanger steak. My boyfriend had the bison. My friend had the scallops. All were delicious. I also recommend the green bean ceasar salad, mushroom curry soup, and the quinoa. So unique and so good! The presentation was above and beyond - our plates were works of art. The place is charming, the service is good. I highly recommend!

Best date night restaurant in Cincy. Great time, impeccable service. All dishes were done well. Loved the fresh locally sourced salads and the lamb. Desserts excellent and not overpriced.

We went to Bouquet to celebrate my husband's birthday over the weekend. It was a good experience overall minus a few minor annoyances. The service was slow. We weren't in a rush at all but our meal start to finish took over 2 hours for just the two of us. Though we were seated promptly, given menus immediately and even put in our wine order quickly. 20 minutes later and we were wondering where our bottle of wine was. Their wine selection is pretty good either by the glass or by the bottle. There are some interesting choices with a range of prices which is always appealing to me. We were pleased with the wine. We started with the rabbit ravioli and though the edges of the ravioli were under cooked and tough, the flavor of the dish was so delicious, that almost made up for the technical flaw. Had it been cooked properly, it would have been the perfect dish. My husband opted for the lamb entrée. He liked it though the pieces of lamb he had were really fatty. He had to pick through a lot of the meat to try and find edible pieces. I had the pork chop with a lentil/brussel sprout side dish that was really tasty. The pork chop was large, cooked perfectly and the lentils were really flavorful. We had a trio of chocolate for dessert that was a nice way to end the meal. The experience was nice and a good way to spend a birthday, though I did specify when I made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant didn't even extend a "happy birthday" which is always a pet peeve of mine. We would consider going back and trying some of their other dishes.

The wife and I went to Bouquet last night for dinner. Our friends had purchased a gift certificate for us to go there, so we finally got around to checking it out. We made a reservation and were seated promptly upon our arrival. The inside of the restaurant is quaint - it looks like it was converted from a house. Our server was great. He was helpful with the wine list and attentive but not overbearing. I started with the gazpacho which was decent. It's the first time I've eaten it, so I have no basis for comparison. My wife had the scallops and I had the filet. The beef was OK, but bland and a bit overcooked for medium-rare. My wife was not all that impressed with the scallops either. Our gift certificate was for $100, which covered our meal, taxes and a healthy tip for the good service. We might be back for drinks only. The food was overpriced considering that it was not really anything to write home about.

I know some of the area natives may disagree with this, but I always like going down to certain parts of Covington on an early summer evening to take in the new Covington scene and to grab a bite to eat. It's such an eclectic mix of scenery / people of new + old + slick + unappealing - it's just different, all mixed together, and I like it. And I really like Bouquet, and I'm ecstatic I could finally get my wife to give it a try tonight... We ditched the kids for a change and had reservations for 8:45PM (kids probably not advised for Bouquet). We made the quick "blockish" walk to Bouquet from our parking spot and I always take notice of the nice curb appeal the Bouquet sidewalk seating area possesses as you approach the restaurant - I always tell myself "that'd be a nice place to try sometime" but never do - maybe someone can actually do it and write a review about how awesome it is so I can live vicariously through them. Anyhow, we walked into the restaurant and as always, things are kept in remarkable order. It's tastefully decorated, and not overdone with artwork that keeps you distracted the entire night. I think they try to keep you focused on the charm of the really old historical building you are in - seems clever when you've sunk that much money into making it looking nice. Being the small restaurant that it is, it only has 10 - 15 tables and I'd say another 6 or 7 bar stools for customers to dine at - it makes for a real quaint environment amongst patrons. Music is lightly played as well. All elements mixed together screams "date spot" to me so don't be bashful if it is your first time out and you are contemplating Bouquet - if you are in charge of picking, you might score major creativity points for nailing this spot. As always, the food is insanely thoughtful and very tasty. Every time I eat at Bouquet, I walk out and can't get over how much flavor I just tasted. I almost feel like it might be a fun game for the chef to make different flavor combinations that are so good, yet, are unlike anything you have ever had. I'm always amazed. Last night we had the Spinach Salad (AMAZING, but unfortunately a special item), the crab cake (always solid), the Bistro Steak (always great) and some amazing desert concoction who's name escapes me. I've been to Bouquet on several occasions now, and I find it hard to believe that I'd ever take issue with any of the food, but if I did, I'm sure they'd promptly remedy the situation. What was unfortunate about our visit last night was that we missed out on one of our entrees that we intended to eat. We ordered the Alaskan Halibut from the menu which was explained to us as the dish that the chef had prepared for the very exclusive James Beard Dinner mere weeks earlier (and apparently had rave reviews). Somewhere along the line of commotion, our intent to have this dish was either misplaced, or merely just forgotten. It was unfortunate since our waitress did such an impeccable job walking us through the menu and actually even coaxed me into ordering it as our second entrée to the Bistro Steak that my wife and I ordered. It sure was an honest mistake. In hindsight, I could see how easy the oversight would be given how much time and attention each wait staff spends with each individual table discussing the menu's at length. Anyhow - it's one of those encounters that you can't be mad about, but it's certainly one that impacts your evening - even if just a little. The one upside was that our bill was $35 cheaper I suppose, and we weren't starving at the end of the night! All in all, great experience. I wish the small snafu wouldn't have happened on my wife's first night at the restaurant so her opinion could be built on the strong foundation mine was built upon, but hopefully she is more forgiving than I am. I'm going to give it a four stars (not five) for: a) Lack of execution on not getting my entrée that evening b) Several dishes that I was left either wanting a larger portion, or wanting more of a certain condiment that accompanied the star of the dish. c) Wait between service intervals was often longer than normal relative to other five star dining establishments.

After two borderline-impeccable experiences at Bouquet, a third visit revealed that it does not click on all cylinders every night. On a recent Saturday night, the restaurant was quite busy, with a crowded bar and an rather large event upstairs. Servers seemed a bit distracted, inattentive, and hurried, and, on one pass-by, even slightly unprofessional: When my wife asked, after we'd already finished a cocktail and a salad, whether the little plates at our setting were bread plates (hint-hint), the server, with apparently disingenuous innocence, asked, "Would you like some bread?" Obviously, this question should've have been asked fifteen or twenty minutes earlier, before our salads were served and without prompting from us. The busy night seemed to have shaken up the kitchen a bit as well. Although our meals during our first two visits were among the best dozen or so we'd had in seven-plus years of living in the Cincinnati area, the food on this third occasion was not. A harvest salad was quite bland and barely dressed (and I'm one who loathes overdressed salads). Entrees were still very good but a bit off: amberjack was almost raw in the center (yeah, I know amberjack can be served raw as sushi, but whtie fish just isn't very pleasant when part-raw and part-cooked), and the pork chop was not served bone-in this time and just wasn't as flavorful. Some of the accompanying vegetables were probably undercooked. The crab cake appetizer was still pretty great, though. Not what I'd call a bad experience, but a disappointing one if only because the first two visits suggested a nearly flawless restaurant. I look forward to going back, with the hope that this was just an off-night.

This is a truly average product selling itself as upscale the food is complicated and ends up being messy , the servers are pleasant but not proficient , I will try again hoping for a better experience but I don't expect one

This is our kind of place! Every single thing we ordered was delicious. The flavor combinations are original and adventurous unlike any other restaurants in the area. (Loved the quinoa with 55 minute egg, yum!!!!!!) Perhaps the best thing was that the food really tastes healthy and fresh. You won't feel weighted down after a meal here, which leaves room for dessert. Desserts at Bouquet are just as inventive as the mains and are very nicely priced. Let's not forget this is a wine bar! A great selection of wines from around the world at all price points. We ordered a flight which was a fun way to sample several things. My only complaint is that the flights are served in junky glasses, which detracts significantly from the experience. I'll order by the glass next time. This is not a inexpensive night out, but worth every penny.

We dined at Bouquet to celebrate a family birthday. Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. Service superb, Drinks great, Food excellent. We had a member of our party that had challenging dietary restrictions and the chef was extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back - Thank you for a most enjoyable evening!

I still like to think of Bouquet as an undiscovered gem in Northern Kentucky, I first went there just a few weeks after it opened and I was absolutely blown away by how exquisite their food was. I told pretty much everyone I knew about it, and maybe it helped (probably it was fate) but Bouquet is no longer that undiscovered gem, it's become a fine polished stone synonymous with top-notch gastronomy in Northern Kentucky. And they deserve every accolade they receive! While every subsequent visit has been just as good, what impressed me most by my most recent dining experience was the above and beyond, first class service we received .... oh and the food was STILL excellent! We were a large party and had gotten the relatively new upstairs private room. One of our clan was stuck in Dayton, Ohio for work and was running late. Which honestly no one much minded because the rest of us had time to drink a cocktail and work on the cheese plate we'd ordered. Someone decided to order the Sweet Potato Flatbread and I will be forever in their debt. Such a perfect amalgamation of flavors that, frankly words can't do justice but taste buds will instantly understand. Though as we plowed into our second round of drinks I was worried our bartender must be getting annoyed. It wasn't until about 50 minutes after we were supposed to be seated that our tardy final guest arrived. Then after another round of drinks to let him catch his breath, we shuffled into the dining room to our tables. I imagined the bartender was probably glad to see us depart, but I was a tad worried when I saw that our bartender was also our server for the whole evening. I thought he might try to rush us through the rest of the night. So many great meals are ruined by a server eager to turn over the tables or get home at the end of the night. My trepidation was completely misplaced. For many of our group it was their first journey to Bouquet and had questions about the menu and ingredients, some of the queries were probably a tad rudimentary -- but our server answered each one and gave some really great recommendations to people on the fence about entrées (though to be fair, you can't really choose a "bad" entrée at Bouquet.) Some bottles of wine were passed around, while appetizers, soups, and salads arrived. "Ooohs" and "aaahs" were exchanged like Christmas gifts. Each guest loving what they'd ordered but I think like me, secretly coveting the tantalizing "other" dishes now taunting them from across the table or across the room. Finally the entrées arrived -- rib-eyes, pork chops, fried chicken, and for me a Sesame Seed Encrusted Tofu with a side order of Brussels Sprouts. Every bite was culinary magic! In fact I always thought I hated Brussels Sprouts until I first had them at Bouquet a few years back -- now I never miss ordering them when they're on their menu. As the meal wrapped up and the dessert menus went around our server was still genial and made us all feel like we had all the time in the world to order. Sadly I was now forced to endure that Sweet Potato Flatbread's revenge -- I couldn't even give the dessert menu more than a cursory glance. My overstuffed turmoil was aggravated by listening to everyone rave about their selections. Next time I dine there I'll have to remember to skip lunch to make sure I don't suffer that same fate! When the meal finally ended, well over three and a half hours after it was supposed to begin, and the restaurant downstairs empty except for a few people drinking wine at the bar, I made sure I personally thanked our server and casually asked him for his name. So James -- that was some exquisite service, you raised the bar on everyone's dining experience and made an always terrific meal even better! Thank-you and thank-you to everyone behind the scenes whom I didn't get to thank personally. I can hardly wait until my next visit!

Very pleasant atmosphere, and outstanding food! I loved the spring vegetable sautee and the curried cauliflower soup was nice, although a little mild for my tastes. Cheese plate with accompaniments was the perfect end to a lovely meal. Service was attentive. Only disappointment was that I'd have liked a broader assortment of wines by the glass, but I often feel that way. Overall, highly recommend it!

I could write for days about how wonderful Bouquet is. But I'm going to keep it simple. You can't go wrong dining here, it will be one of the best dining experiences you've ever had , without being pretentious . The food, the wine, the ambiance and the service are excellent! And don't walk out the door without trying a dessert! This is one of our favorite date night places in the Cincy area! Seriously , take your sweetie!! And, um hello!! That Carrot Cake Trifle with Cardamom icecream!!!!!!

I wish there was a 6th star! Our meal tonight was exceptional, along with the service. The food was incredibly on point, every detail was intentional and the execution of each dish was flawless. Our server Chris knocked our socks off. His quiet attentiveness and knowledge of the food left us in want for nothing. Bouquet is an unsung hero in our city. Please eat here!
