This is one one best Skylines I have been in. It is CLEAN and the employees and the owner are very nice. Their food is always fresh. I have been to other stores where the Buns don't seem to be fresh. The hot dogs tasted like they have been on the grille way too long. Not here!
Skyline time. 3 ways 4 ways & 5 ways. Always clean, courteous and tasty, I want to have a three way with everyone here! My Fav small 5 way with a bib and Unsweetened Ice tea and Lemonade in a Go Cup.
Skyline is unique to Cincinnati, there will be those that love it and those that hate it. Eat it enough and you'll grow to love it! If you're in town and looking for something Cincinnati, definitely swing by and grab a classic 3 way.

How have I never written a review for this place? We often visit here and come back for a reason. The staff is always polite and friendly. The food is a little bit more than down the street but the quality of food makes up for it. It's never busy here so you get a nice quiet experience when you eat here. They also offer specials during the week if you want to stop on by and check that out.
The service is a shade slow, but usually, I'm in no hurry to get in and out, which works just fine with me. The food is always yummy and the wait staff is nice. The refried beans are yummy and usually my favorite part of the meal here.
Slow, awkward lunch service. I had the chicken chimichanga, which was okay but the chicken was not pulled apart enough - it was difficult to cut. I could hardly tell what our waiter was saying. Even though there were maybe 4 other people in the restaurant, we had to wait a good 10 minutes for the check after he took our plates.

Okay let talk about the experience I had today at Longhorn. Work was very busy so I decided I was not going to eat the lunch I brought with me and I was going to go have something delicious. I decided to get Longhorn because I wanted something different than the usual Mexican or Chinese I tend get, and I am so happy I did!!! So my waitress was very nice, took my order quickly and brought me my drink right away. Today I ordered some options that are new to the menu because I wanted to try something different. I got the lunch half sandwich plus soup special. For my sandwich I got a "BPT" which is bacon, pimento cheese, and a fried green tomato- shut up right now! That thing was incredible. For my soup I got mushroom truffle bisque... Drooling sorry! It had to have been one of the best soups I have ever had and I'm a soupaholic so I know soup! Usually chain restaurants don't impress me like this but I was very happy with my meal today! GOOD JOB LONGHORN!!
Waited 15 minutes before they realized they forgot about us. Then another 15 for bread. Other than that the food was pretty good.
Being less than a mile from our home, we eat here several times a month. Our favorite time is lunch since they now have lunch combos, most being under $10. Soup and salad is what I typically order since you have a choice of several soups (French onion, chili, shrimp and lobster chowder or broccoli cheddar) + either a mixed greens salad or Caesar. The place is always very clean and most of the servers are friendly and welcoming.

Barleycorn’s

Great place and inside /outside seating. Been many times. Has happy hour. Football bear special /s try the deep fried egg plant...you will be back
I live in Florida and we do not have Barleycorn's. When my Dad suggested it as a meetup for several family members when I was in town, I recognized the name from my childhood. I remembered liking it. When I arrived I realized it was basically an Applebee's or Chili's with a basketball court, skee-ball and a few other games. The Skee-ball is probably why I remembered this place fondly. Even though there are only 3 locations, Barleycorn's has a "chain" feel to it. Our service was super slow. To be fair, we had a group of 11. All the same, it was around an hour for our food to show up. The kids in our group were getting very restless and the Parents were forced to allow them to play video games. We had ordered pretty simple food too. Three of the people at our table didn't even order full meals. Another one had a salad. My brother had a chicken wrap. My burger was probably the most complicated thing. I ordered the Bourbon Trail Burger which was basically a burger slathered in bourbon bbq sauce. It was okay. Not great. For $9, I could probably find a much better burger at a different restaurant. I know I can in Florida. I had a great time with my family here, but that had nothing to do with the restaurant or the food. The entire food experience was "meh" at best. I probably would not return even if I did live in the area.
Decent food. But I got eaten alive by bugs. I don't understand why they wouldn't fog or something. It made my whole meal and the rest of the night really uncomfortable. Also towards the end of our meal a whole little league team or something showed up and they sat them at several tables around our table so were surrounded by running, yelling kids and parents all swarming around and mingling. I really don't remember much about the food because the experience was not good.

Bob Evans Restaurants

4000 Alexandria Pike
Cold Spring, 41076
Reviews:
Our visit was alright. I mean, it is Bob Evans. Has anyone ever finished a meal at Bob Evans and needed to profess to the world how amazing their experience was? Food is consistently good, service is adequate and atmosphere is Bob Evans. For me with places like this it all comes down to customer service... Our waitress was very nice and kept referring to people at our table as "baby." Other than the pet names the party was happy with the service. The one thing that I was not happy with during our brunch was that we had a coupon that had time limitations (has anyone ever heard of a thing?) Well we tried to use the coupon 10 minutes before the coupons "usable window" opened and the manager at the register refused to use it because he said the time on the coupon is to avoid the busiest time of the restaurant. He was talking to my wife about the restrictions of the coupon to avoid rush hours, but there wasn't anyone in line except my wife.... I passive aggressively looked at the manager and looked at my wife (the only person trying to pay their check, and therefore not exactly busy) and confirmed that the coupon couldn't be used to avoid a rush. Long story short -- we paid the full tab and learned a lesson that some managers are incapable of utilizing common sense or simple customer service. Of course we will be back to Bob Evans, but like I said ... everything falls back on customer service.
We've been to this Bob Evans restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner many, many times over the years. We had dinner here tonight. We came in at 807 pm on a Sunday evening (they close at 9 pm) and were seated immediately. You could tell that they were busy by the number of un-bussed tables however the lady who seated us and our server were very helpful. We were a party of four. We had a full meal menu i.e. soup, entrée and dessert. Two ordered chicken noodle soup for starters of which the waitress had a new batch of chicken soup made for us (they apparently ran-out of chicken noodle soup), the other two had vegetable soup. My son had the potato crusted flounder and I had the steak with portabella mushrooms. My other son had slow-roasted turkey melt sandwich and my wife had the slow-roasted turkey dinner. Then we all had pie for dessert - apple and/or pumpkin pie. Our food was served hot in a very timely manner. And we had an enjoyable dinner. We were seated around 810 PM and were out by 9 pm. I thought that was pretty efficient. Anything faster than that would have been a fast-food burger chain. It is a family-type, chain restaurant that caters to a high-volume of customers. They are busy most of the time. I observe that they try their best to be accommodating, and try to get the food served in a timely manner. Over the years my experience with this location has been positive. The food is not necessarily spectacular but it's not fine dining either. They are quick, usually clean and somehow for myself and my family, familiar and comfortable.
Having lived near them for years, I'd never eaten at a Bob Evans in my life. No one had ever suggested it. I'd seen their barn-like red buildings around interstate exits that I'd driven past every day, but not once had I decided to stop there. I finally decided to see what it was all about. So far it's been the worst mistake I've made in 2012. I ordered some kind of Smokehouse Burger, or some other such silly name. It had a little red barn logo beside its place on the menu to declare it a Bob Evans specialty... if this is one of their better items, I'd hate to see their less favorable selections. The burger arrived sitting on the plate in an island of grease. The bun and french fries were soggy from sitting in the trans fat ocean, and there was one smatter of disgusting looking substance that was the $1.00 up-charge to make it a Spicy Chipotle Smokehouse Burger. It looked like hot sauce stirred into Miracle Whip. I became a little nauseous by just looking at this garbage pile with a meat center floating in the grease trap they dumped from their skillet onto my plate. I tried to eat it anyway, because I was with company. First, used all the napkins I could find to try to sop up some of this disgusting liquid. Then I cut it in half so I could try to fit the bile in my mouth. If I were alone I wouldn't have even tasted this foul, desecrated animal corpse that they covered in brown lettuce and onion petals that looked like tater tots that had been stomped on their repulsive kitchen floor. One bite was all it took. I knew I would never eat at Bob Evans again. Life is too short to make this kind of mistake twice. This is the worst burger I've had in the Cincinnati area. Far worse than that horrible kitsch-trap Terry's Turf Club -- which I hate with a pure, honest hatred (see review) -- this is not fit for human consumption. Let this be a warning: Bob Evans is worse than McDonalds. It is the worst food I've had in recent memory. P.S. - The breakfast meal that was had across the table from me was also shiny with grease too. Do they deep fry their eggs?

Ruby Tuesday

Reviews:
I recently went to Ruby's for our office Christmas party. I hadn't been there in a few years so I was a little disappointed in the choice, I kept saying I do not want to go to a glorified burger place but I was happy with the changes they have made to the menu. I ordered a blue moon on draft and the chicken bella. Meals all come with the choice of two sides or one side and the salad bar. If you go to Ruby's you have to get the salad bar! The croutons are so amazing, which sounds weird but if you eat one you'll see what I'm talking about. My chicken bella was delicious, it's a grilled chicken breast covered in a creamy parmesan sauce with mushrooms and artichoke. I also had the roasted spaghetti squash as my other side with was very yummy. For desert I shared a chocolate lava cake with one of my coworkers and it was good. The "lava" wasn't as runny as I like but it's chocolate, you can't go wrong. All around I have to say we had a great time and our food was good. Our server did a great job keeping our crazy group in line and the manager came around to make sure we were having a good time which is always nice!
I just had the maple bourbon salmon, which was amazing with the cheesy grits. The waitress, Nicole S was great too!! I was celebrating great week at work a couple of days early tonight, which is why I came in to Ruby Tuesday tonight. I recommend the maple bourbon salmon, because it's truly yummy and falls apart easily with a fork!
I used to really like this place, but the quality and portions continue to go down while prices go up. They are making an utterly misguided attempt to go more "upscale", but I don't care how pretty your menus are if your food isn't good! On a recent visit, I tried their new chicken tenders--description sounded great, but I was disappointed when the dish came out and it contained four of the smallest, most pitiful chicken tenders I have ever seen. Each one was just slightly larger than my thumb! On top of that, they were bland and soft. For two adults and a child, the lunch tab was about $50, which is crazy for what we got. I would downgrade to one star, but we did have a really nice and helpful server. In any case, not planning to return.

This Arby's is ok and nothing to write home to your mom about food wise. It's chain food and is acceptable when it comes to a basic meal, but it's also expensive as well. This Arby's was just remodeled about a year ago and is a lot better looking inside and outside. They actually have charging plugs at certain booths for people to charge their cell phones/lap tops/tablets/etc., which comes in handy, if they're near dying. I'm glad to see them clean this Arby's up, because it was nasty before the remodel took place last year. If you want to try acceptable food in a relatively clean restaurant, come here. The staff does ok too.

White Castles is ok for a late night meal or drunken craving, but their signage is wrong for the hours on Sundays!! I just stopped by at 11:59 pm to grab a late night dinner with my hubby and they were closed at the lobby, but the drive through was still open for service. This was strange, because of the signs being wrong.

Chan’s Asian Wok

359 Crossroad Blvd
Cold Spring, 41076
Reviews:
Chan's is the best Chinese in the Cold Spring/Alexandria/Highland Heights area, hands down. They serve your typical Chinese-American fare, but the dishes are much better quality than other Chinese places in the area. It's a great place to get take out if you work close by. The staff are very friendly whether you dine in or get it to go, and after a few trips, they'll already be remembering your orders. Their egg rolls, spring rolls, and crab rangoons are all solid appetizer choices. My favorite dish used to be the General Tso's chicken, but once I tried their Mongolian beef, I never looked back. The seasoned and sauteed beef goes great with the big hunks of mushrooms, onions, baby corn, and other vegetables. The sauce is just perfect as well, especially if you ask for it extra spicy. All their entrees come with chicken satay, which is nice. The prices are all very reasonable, and you get a big portion for the money. If you're in the area and craving good Chinese food, this is a can't miss.
Acceptable take-out, not very flavorful and they could put some sauces in the bag with the take-out. The hot and sour soup was neither, a real let down. However it was not bad, as in rotten, just flavorless. I also got the lo mein with all the meats, also very so-so.
This is decent Chinese food at a reasonable price. I've been here often when I need a quick meal. The food didn't blow me away, but it's good, just nothing special. The dishes I feel sometimes just don't have much to them. I've never had anything bad there though. The menu is pretty extensive so we've never had a problem finding something. I used to be vegetarian and I was able to find suitable food for me then too. When we get carry out from here, it has come in very nice, dish washer, microwave safe plastic containers. We love these and end up reusing them for quite a while. So order carry out and get a bonus reusable container!

O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar

100 Cross Roads Blvd.
Cold Spring, 41076
Reviews:
On my most recent visit, was very pleased to see that this O'Charleys location has gone totally smoke free. This is a fairly typical family casual dining restaurant with reasonable prices and friendly service. They've also upgraded their side house salad with a spring mix/ baby greens instead of the sad iceberg concoction that is usually standard. I had a minor issue the last time I was there, but when I let the server know, she immediately apologized and send the manager over who made more than adequate restitution so great customer service. My usual order there is the chicken tender dinner with a side salad and fries. The chicken tenders are definitely the best thing on the menu here as far as I'm concerned--crisp breading, tender chicken and great honey mustard dipping sauce. The fries can be extremely salty. The whole meal probably exceeds your fat and salt requirements for an entire day, but it's a tasty calorie splurge on occasion. This is definitely a family restaurant--be prepared to be surrounded by the noise and chaos that goes with young kids. The positive is that if you're bringing one or more of your own, nobody should shoot you any dirty looks!
Dear Nate the manager tonight 8/1. You probably should have done something about the loud group that was annoying half then patrons in your restaurant. It is your responsibility when a group is making a lot of noise and affecting many other people you have to be a manager and fix it. The good was good and Erin our server was excellent and patient with our very old parents. Maybe Erin should be the manager, I sure she would do a better job at resolving problems.
Carry out order and still had to wait 20 after the time I was told it would be done. Really!
