¡¡Me encanta!! We stumbled into this amazing gem. We stopped in Carrollton after a long day of driving and didn't want fast food. We found this place and ate SO much we nearly had to crawl out!! The menu was SO extensive it was really hard to choose what to eat! The fajitas and burrito both came with a trio of meats: steak, chicken and shrimp!! And a wonderfully balanced portion of each...it was just delicious. The salsa tasted super fresh and had a great flavor. The queso was nearly perfect and the bean dip was out of this world!! Chips tasted freshly made, too! Overall, a wonderfully happy find that we're trying to find a reason to travel back for!! You won't be disappointed!!
The family was staying at General Butler State Park, so we decided to get take out from here one evening for dinner. I'm glad we did! I got the Coyote Burrito. A burrito stuffed with chicken, steak, and shrimp and smothered in queso. I'm used to a burrito getting filled with mostly other stuff and having some meat in it. This was just the meat. It was so good! The chips and salsa were great as well. Highly recommended!
I only wish we could have come on a day when margaritas were available... No beer or liquor on Sundays in Carrollton. The food was amazing, the service was great and it was wonderful to sit outside. I would have been more comfortable in regular chairs instead of the high barstool chairs. I had the chicken chimichanga ($10) and it was expertly fried to crispy perfection. The salsa was fresh and the guacamole that came with my entree was terrific. I wish there were a place this awesome in my town!!!

Fantastic pizza! We stopped in on a road trip to visit family, and I'm glad we did! We tried the hometown specialty, and the lasagna. Both were great!
I always look for unique places to eat when I'm out of town and I quickly realized that Carrollton, KY was not the epicenter for fine dining! But Hometown Pizza DID serve up some GREAT pizza! Although I must let you know, I've never met a pizza I didn't like!! The pizza was very similar to Pizza Hut in looks and taste. The restaurant was clean and affordable. The waitress I had was very helpful and friendly. There is a wide array of pizza choices as well as salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes and other menu items. The restaurant is in a great location for General Butler State Park guests!
I stayed at the General Butler State Resort Park for a training and we stopped here before leaving. I wasn't expecting much but the pizza was surprisingly great and the service was good.

Good food. Quick service. Only reason i am not rating 5 stars is because the selection is limited. But what is there is very good. I will definily go back if im am back in carrolton again.
You really don't want my opinion, and I don't want to be disparaging with my words....However: Food safety and cleanliness or the lack thereof are very important to me. They had sick children running in and out of the kitchen and there was food prep occurring in the dining area. It's smells like cigarette smoke and the carpets need a severe cleaning. Hopefully this doesn't happen often...
Average at best. As i walk to the counter noticed the chicken sitting in a bowl unrefrigerated. Wasn't impressed with the meal, your average chinese if that. Portion size was ok. Next time I think I'll try the chinese buffet up the road next time.

My wife and I were headed down south for vacation and we looked on our GPS for a Mexican restaurant. The GPS found this great Mexican restaurant for us! The restaurant is very bright at night which was very appealing. We were greeted warmly when we walked in, and had our drinks served right away. The food: The chips and salsa was very good. They give you hot and mild salsas to dip. I ordered the Chicken Nachos and they were delicious! It was a huge plate, and several times I wanted to stop eating, but I couldn't since it was so good! My wife had some enchiladas and loved them! The waiters were very quick and friendly! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Had the quesadilla stuffed with fajita steak. It was a generous size with a large browned tortilla holding plenty of contents including grilled onions and bell peppers. They chose to use Monterrey Jack for the cheese inside this quesadilla, and I know some people are good with this combination of cheese/meat, but i personally would've preferred a Mexican blend or even mozzarella for this type of quesadilla. The issue for me was that it resembled the flavors of a cheese steak more than a caramello, particularly because of mixing Monterrey jack with grilled steak. The tortilla chips are a poor starter here compared to other Mexican places in Carrolton, but other than that the meal was fine and I plan to return to try the enchiladas.
We were on a camping trip at nearby General Butler State Park (which I will also have to review) when the inevitable happened in July...heavy rain and storms! So what do you do when you are in a pop-up camper and it's pouring down rain? You go find a Mexican joint to gorge yourself on of course! El Nopal is a chain like many regional Mexican restaurants. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in our group and were accommodated without any problems. I ordered the carnitas dinner which was very tasty, but entirely too big, although I guess that's a good value. The kids meals were insanely large. Unless your kids are over the age of 10 or has a tapeworm, I'd recommend they split one of these meals.

The food here is delicious. Amazing chicken. And the service is really friendly
ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANT CHICKEN. The fried chicken was fantastic. While you are at it, I'd just do carry out. At first it seemed to have small town charm of old diner but was smokey (they allow smoking), a little sticky, and needs a good mopping. Once again only go for chicken, move along if you want anything else.
Excellent local restaurant. Was in town for work and found a gem. Had fried cod and it was excellent, served with fries, cole slaw , hush puppies and drink for under ten dollars. Large portions and cooked fresh. Two others in my party had fried chicken and both said it was fantastic. Looked like locals only, but staff was friendly and very helpful to us. Must try if in this area.

Mexico Lindo

1410 Highland Ave
Carrollton, 41008
Reviews:
Mexico Lindo is a small authentic Mexican restaurant with a Mexican grocery attached. Easy to miss, it is located behind and to the side of a Rite Aid pharmacy. This is not your typical Mexican chain restaurant. While the (relatively small) menu has offerings for American tastes, the entire point of coming to Mexico Lindo is for the authentic Mexican food. Owned and operated by Mexicans (same family I'd imagine), many of the staff do not speak english. The restaurant, in my opinion, was created to satisfy the tastes of Mexican migrant workers, not to add to the deluge of "Americanized Mexican" restaurants. Of course you can find burritos, enchilades, carne asada, chimichangas, and fajitas, as well as steak, various salads, and stuff for the kids. The real draw is the back page of the menu. Entitled "Con Puro Sabor Mexicano", this is where you find the traditional, authentic offerings. Empanadas, tortas, big mexican-style tacos (complete with onions & cilantro, with spicy salsa verde, and lime on the side... pollo - my favorite)... you can even get Ceviche & Coctel De Camaron. The last two I'd like to try, but maybe not in Kentucky where the closest we are to the ocean is the Ohio River. It might be delicious, though! They're not in business to impress the public majority with a large menu or over-the-top-delicious food. In fact, you can find most of the items in a thousand other Mexican-style restaurants, with prices comparable to what you'd expect normally. However, if you want truly authentic Mexican fare (including imported beers and sodas), at EXTREMELY reasonable prices, you'd do well to stop in. Overall, I'd call their food average-to-above average, but in my book the authentic dishes are quite tasty and VERY filling. The prices of the authentic menu are matched to wages of migrant workers. One authentic taco costs $1.50, and they're BIG! I have trouble getting completely through two of them! Add to that the complimentary chips and salsa (also tasty), you'll have no trouble leaving with your belly, as well as your wallet, full. By no means the Best Of The Best, they don't try to outdo anyone. What they do, however, they do pretty well. The next time you're in the area and have a hankering for REAL Mexican, skip the chains, order from the back of the menu, and give Mexico Lindo a try!

Kin’s New China Of Carrollton

Reviews:
I loved the old Kim's New China Restaurant which was in the same location and was virtually identical to the current one. It closed in September of 2012 and reopened under new management as "Kin's New China" (or Bin's, I'm not sure). The old restaurant had excellent Stir Fry dishes. The current one has stir fry dishes that are more in line with other Chinese buffets I've been to. Some might find the atmosphere a bit dark and dingy. It shares a building with a thrift store and a Save-A-Lot grocery. There are two food bars on the floor and a dessert/fruit bar along the wall. Ice cream is scooped self-serve out of tubs in the corner. The price is cheap-to-reasonable and the servers are very nice. I have always found plenty of good food on the buffet to fill up on. I doubt that Carrollton could support a larger Chinese Buffet restaurant, so I am glad we have this one. If you want a more pleasant atmosphere there are a couple of Mexican restaurants nearby that might be to your liking or the Two Rivers Restaurant in General Butler State Park, but for food and value New China is my first choice.
DO NOT EAT HERE! I have been to some bad Chinese buffets but this takes first place for being the worst I have ever seen. That is all the words I can muster up for this review.......

Yikes... Out of ice, mgr says "give me a minute", out of diet coke, mgr says " we're working on it", after quite a wait I decide to ask for my money back (went next door to McD... Excellent"), After another long wait her response is "patience is a virtue" my response ... Don't use words you can't spell! Seriously, obviously poorly managed and dirty ... Skip it!
