Visited today for the first time and I will definitely go back! I had the reuben sandwich and it was very well made. The rye bread was made in the bakery and was super fresh. There was quite a selection of sanwiches, burgers, and salads and everything that I saw looked very good. My favorite part of the meal was walking through the gift shop to the bakery and having a delicious gormet cupcake for dessert. There were many flavors I wanted to try but settled for strawberry while my friend had Reeses. Both were excellent and the icing....the icing was something really special! Can't wait to go back and try some other flavors.
The Tuesday special of double cheeseburger and battered fries was great. They have a unique bun that is really good. The fries were not super greasy. I would recommend.
Burgers are decent, generally need more seasoning. I don't care for battered fries but the chips are good. I like the pizza burger best and my wife likes the California chicken. Donuts are very good and pies and cakes are great.

This is the best country cooking fare to be had in this area. Great vegetable selection, catfish, daily specials and BBQ. Everything is prepared in the traditional manner, and the portions are huge. Prices are low, and the service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is dated and worn, but that is the norm in this region to be candid.
When your driving the back roads of Southwest Kentucky and you see a neon pig you have got to pull over and check it out! Good old school BBQ. Very clean tables. Great waitress's. Yes they call you"Hon" and that makes me feel good. I had the BBQ pork sandwich and my wife had the BBQ turkey. Both excellent. They may look pedestrian but the meat on both was outstanding. Good but not overpowering smoke, great flavor and very tender. They know what they're doing here. Lots of menu options, more that could be sampled at one lunch sitting. The place was full of locals who all had to get back to work by 12:30 If you don't like the sit down experience use the drive through. Check it out. It's worth the stop.
BBQ, really real BBQ. Hutchins is an institution in Benton Kentucky. It has been mentioned in numerous movies about the south. Even though, some would argue that we're more Midwest. Every time I get down to this end of the state I make it a point to come in and reaffirm that Benton Kentucky has a lot more going for it than some would let on. Compared to other barbecue joints of similar size, this is a five. The meat is always perfectly seasoned. The smoke flavor neither overpowers nor is overpowered. The sauce, as always, is well beyond what one would expect in such a small venue. The side items are, unfortunately, right off the Sysco truck but, that is to be expected. The focus here is the meat. And they do focus on the meat. I'm talking a star for the lack of creativity with sides, however this does not indicate any slights on the main focus: meat.

I really enjoy eating here. It's very affordable, the service is friendly, and the food is good! I wasn't expecting as good of food from a Dairy Queen! The mushroom Swiss is my favorite. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Note: Dropped my rating one star after consistently being served un-DQ-like below par ice cream blizzards. Still would highly recommend this DQ.

Dinner Bell Restaurant

Reviews:
The Dinner Bell is a little gem near Jonathan Creek at Kentucky Lake. You won't find better southern home cooking. It's a family owned business that has been around for decades. The owner and staff are very friendly and attentive. Tonight my main selections included the catfish, pork chops and gravy, and a couple of fried chicken legs (all absolutely amazing). You will find a good selection of sides and hot vegetables. I typically skip the salad bar to leave room for more hot food. The desserts are excellent. I'm full... but have no regrets.
When I first drove up to this small place I was'nt sure if it was going to be any good. I was really surprised and delighted with the food. We were there on a Sunday for the cafeteria style dinner. All you can eat for 12.95!!! There is a salad bar plus a great variety of home cooked items. It's the real deal. I'm coming back next chance I get.
Have been here 3x great restaurant will continue to come back. Kid friendly home cooking. Pork chops were great

Catfish Kitchen

136 Teal Run
Benton, 42025
Reviews:
Catfish Kitchen is a local staple restaurant. They specialize of course in catfish but also offer a chicken option and frog legs (which both myself and wife had). The initial offerings of white beans and coleslaw is fantastic and I could eat my weight in both of these before ordering. their house relish/dressing that is in bottles at the table is outstanding and I could also drink a glass of it. The disadvantage here though is everything is fried (deep fried) so if you are looking for a blackened catfish or something that perhaps is not well fried I would go elsewhere. They do a great job at frying but of course everything tastes exactly the same....like the frying oil which is ok if that is what you are looking for
Super fast service and fresh fried catfish, beans, hush puppies, slaw. Can you say southern food at its best. Yum yum!
Yum! Best hush puppies ever and the catfish is pretty darn good as well. Husband and I are on our way there now from Nashville to meet family from Paducah. Two hour drive to this place is worth it. Fun, causal family atmosphere is perfect for Sunday dinner. Make reservations, really!

Habanero Mexican Grill

244 US Hwy 68 E
Benton, 42025
Reviews:
I LOVE Mexican food. Unfortunately, in Paducah we are very limited to Los Amigos, El Barco, and Los Garcia. While I do not know who owns these particular restaurants, I have lived here long enough to know that employees working at one, eventually will be seen working at the others. I suspect there is a common thread in ownership, but could be wrong. Regardless, the food at one is the same as the food at another, the prices are the same, and the (generally poor) service...also the same. Habanero Mexican Grill in Benton is DIFFERENT. Service is FANTASTIC. Food may or may not be "Authentic" I wouldn't really know...but it is DELICIOUS. Prices are very reasonable. I LOVE their Jalapeno ranch sauce they serve with their complimentary chips. I wish I loved it less, because it probably isn't good for me. Regardless...great food. Oh and their decor doesn't give me a headache. :) Actually very nicely decorated (if that matters). My only wish is that Habanero was closer to Paducah. If it were, I'd seriously go there AT LEAST once a week.
When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by straight faced hostesses who promptly seated us at a table directly in front of the hostess station and then continued to awkwardly stare at us throughout our meal. Basically this place is really disgusting Mexican food. No seasonings on any of the meat and tomato sauce that is labeled as "salsa." Won't be coming back. Epic failure.
Came in today for cinco de mayo and was sorely disappointed! I'm not from here but I'd never come back if I was. We had a 5 top and each of use got our food separately, about two minutes apart. The food was subpar and cold and the service did not come with a smile. Steer clear!

This was the first restaurant my wife and I ate at after moving to Benton earlier this year. I was quite surprised with this restaurant for a couple reasons. First, smoking is allowed, but there is a section for it. Second, you need to pay with cash, and luckily, I happened to have enough cash on me for the meal. This is 2012 so I wasn't expecting these issues, and I'm pretty disappointed because the food and service was good! I likely won't be going back, especially when there is another good BBQ restaurant nearby that doesn't share these issues.
After visiting a few BBQ joints in Kentucky I saw a few similarities and a few things that need improvement. The actual building is close to its service - a little dirty and at times cold. The tables were dirty when arriving and the service wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Most employees seemed confused as what they had to offer for the day. However, the food is the saving grace as the pulled pork (the only meat available) was good but the sweet potato and broccoli casseroles are a tasty variety not offered at many establishments. With a few simple improvements they can be a solid 3 star, but they're a 2 for what I experienced. If it was a drive thru or eat-on-the-curb spot, the score would be better.
Firstly I want to say the service was very good, the owner was there and very polite. I did find it odd that they didn't take credit or debit in this day and age ( studies show that accepting these forms of payments actually increase sales 20-30%) far out waying the cost of the service. You can even do it on a smart phone ( Squareup.com ) The owner told us it was all about the sauce! I had the pulled pork, it was cooked well didn't have much flavor not much seasoning. Well about the sauce, I'm not sure what he was thinking when he conjured it up. The sauce was, flat not very much flavor and what flavor it did had was, well strange. I've tasted better store bought. I'm giving

Domino’s Pizza

Horrible! Glass shards in our food! I wish I could give this place zero stars. First off, our pizzas came cold and rubber-like. We had delivery, so we gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Well.. Prepare yourself for this.. 3 of us total, each grabbed a slice of our pizzas. We hungrily, without care of taste, gobbled down our slices until one person exclaimed "holy crap there's glass!" Well, he was correct. Giant glass shards were tucked away into cheesy pizza... The horror. I called the location to speak with the manager and I had experienced the worst customer service I've ever subjected to. The manager, Jason (who refused to give his last name), told me that they have no glass in the facility. (Just to say, the redneck Jason didn't put it so eloquently..) He told me that nothing was contained in glass, although I pointed out the fact that they use glass light bulbs to illuminate their facility..he still denied the fact that glass was used in the building. He offered a cash refund and was a total, completely incompetent jerk. The nerve?! I promptly called the safety hotline to file a complaint, and then, 10 minutes later the same questionable manager, Jason, offered us a refund and a replacement. HA! Like we going to eat more glass shard, spit infested pizza. Thanks for the glass/gastrointestinal medical complications Jason. You'll be hearing from my lawyer.
