Great dive for burgers, salads and dinner entrees. Fun for lunch with the work crew. Casual dress is appropriate. Great portions swerved with good attentive staff. Definitely a great dive if your in the neighborhood.

I ordered the small burger and onion rings. The burger was good size and came with lettuce, pickle, onion and mayo. It had good flavor. The onion rings were not hot, but they tasted good. The restaurant was crowded, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. It was a little loud but tolerable.

Being a busy place speaks well of this restaurant. While they specialize in a variety of big burgers, I opted for the chicken tortilla soup and Cobb salad. Both were good choices. The soup was spiced "just right". Though not a fan of fruit on my salads, the addition of dried cranberries to a grilled chicken Cobb was good. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their meals. Service was excellent.

Best burgers in the tri-state area! I always leave satisfied and full and for the price you can't go wrong with that! It can get pretty noisy and sometimes even hard to talk to the people sitting at your own table, and the lighting is very dim most of the time, but the great food evens it all out. I always get the pretzel patty which is a big seller, and their nachos in any capacity are always top notch. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and always make sure you are taken care of. If you haven't been here yet, your REALLY missing out.

I love this bar. Their prices are reasonable anyway, but they have a happy hour from 4-7, and one later in the night where drinks are cheaper and some appetizers are half off, including their delicious wings. The big Nachos plate is great too. It's about $3.50 during happy hour, is enormous, and comes with basically a full bowl of chili on it. I get the chili on the side, extra cheese and jalapeños, and 2 24 oz domestic beers and the total is about $13.00. On Tuesday they have a special where you can get 2 of their famous burgers for one. It's enough for 3-4 meals. The bar area is really pleasant and has Christmas lights, and tvs playing sports, but they're not so loud that you can't hear yourself think. I go here all the time!

Was a new addition to a hardened Detroit-like economy. The fact that this place added an option to eat to an area with very few options earned this place a star. The next star comes from the decent service they usually provide. This place would be much better if they actually flavor their patties instead of adding an 1/8 of an inch of seasonings which tends to cause them to be dry. Not to mention the patties themselves are thick which sometimes come just a tad undercooked. Adopt a new fry and some quality ketchup. Ok this place tends to satisfy their normal clientele but I travel the entire USA and it's about as special as getting a burger from Applebee's.

Fat patty's...gotta love the clever name! We came here on a business trip lunch with a party of 14 (what else is there in downtown Ashland?) and were seated outside promptly (there are fans so it's not too hot). I got the Vampire Killer - basically a burger with a ton of minced garlic on top - and it was deeeeelicious! You really have to love garlic though. I got the fries which I thought were tasty as well, and for dessert I tried the pretzel bun thing, which just tasted like fried french toast, but it was tasty. My coworkers got the Lava Patty, Black and Bleu, Luau Cow, and they all liked their burgers. Service was great considering we had such a large party.

I have been to Fat Patty's twice now...once for lunch and one time for dinner. They seem to be crowded always which is a great sign. I had the philly quesadilla and french onion soup. The philly quesadilla was tasty, but a little bit of the meat was frozen. I didn't complain because I knew I wouldn't eat it all anyway and I'd just keep that piece for my to go portion that would be nuked later anyway. The service was fast and an ok draught beer selection.

This place is making my dietary change over to vegetarianism a bit more tolerable. I often would dine on their veggie burger even back when i was still a carnivore the only difference was then i would wash it down with "meat squeezings" i brought from home. That was when i still made sausage from dogs and cats in my neighborhood. That is all behind me now. Now i just steal fruit and vegetables from my neighbors garden. Get the fries with cajun squeezings. I hope no cajuns were hurt in the making of these sqeezings

As an "out of towner" in the area for work for several weeks we decided to try something more local and not a chain restaurant. Ashland, KY does seem to be the town of chain restaurants! Fat Patty's has a good selection and my burger was great as well as the sweet potato fries. The others in the group approved of their meals and margaritas as well. Don't tell your doctor what you eat here, but hey - gotta live a little and why not have a great tasting burger and a cold drink while you're at it?!

This is a great place. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. My waiter, Danny was really great and made all the difference. I had the wings and they were good. They have several beers that are brewed in KY and they were good too. I will be back

The place is known for burgers, so that's the first part of my review. I understand different places have different policies on cooking burgers, but it's tough to earn 5 stars if the meat has to be well done. Beyond that, the patty didn't seem like the advertised 8 oz. (obviously pre-cooked weight, I get it), and toppings were adequate but not generous. I took the upcharge for fries (chips are useless to me) and those were fine. Someone else got onion rings, and they were pretty good, but not my type (too much batter). The waiter got pretty much everything right on our large group order, to his credit, and was very attentive. I feel like I've given a 4-star review for a 3-star place. Spying on everyone's food, I just wasn't impressed with the offerings. If I ate at more Ashland places and couldn't find anything better, the fourth star might be forthcoming, but right now I'm still motivated to try elsewhere.

Nice bar staff cold beer and the food is good. Had the wings and poppers. Both were good. Also hand a burger and rings on a lunch visit. Both were very good as well. Reasonably priced. If your in Ashland give it a try.

It's decent for Ashland, but that isn't saying much. I ordered a steak and it was pretty awful. Like, considerably worse than what I'd get at Applebee's. I understand why people come here; it's a local business that the town can rally behind, and it offers some variety compared to the chains. But honestly, everything is probably better at Applebee's, Outback, Cheddar's, Ruby Tuesday or Texas Roadhouse. At least they have alcohol.

Cheap prices rule at this burger joint and sports bar in downtown Ashland. For a place that really doesn't have much in terms of restaurants, Fat Patty's may be among the better selections in town, and from what I've heard, even put the local Five Guys out of commission. After reviewing the menu and seeing various types of burgers, I actually opted for a bratwurst sandwich, which was served on a pretzel roll. Tasty indeed, and served with a pickle and potato chips (although you can substitute for fries for an extra fee. Service was also friendly and prompt.

Good but not great. Cod Sandwich terrible. Lava burger great and hot. Bratwurst sandwich good Onion rings good. Hot wings need more sauce. Cheese fries are good.

I have not had anything bad here, it's all pretty good. I do hate though that they serve chips and you have to ask and pay extra for fries. I don't know just hate it for some reason. The bar is long and they have some great bartenders.

This place is the best place in town to grab food and drink. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Love it.

The place for large portions and amazing burgers in Ashland! If it's a nice day ask to sit outside, you won't regret it! The service is pretty good, but the food is what brings people back. The salads, while not what most people typically get, are huge and delicious. The black and blue burger is one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. They are always playing some kind of sports program on their televisions inside and they offer free (if rather intermittent) wifi. The kids meals are just as giant as the adult meals, my son loves it here but can never finish more than half of his food. I plan to eat here whenever I visit Ashland! It can be a little hard to find parking and the wait time and crowds can get really bad.

Love it! Pretzel Burger or Philly cheesesteak ! Can't go wrong with either of them! And it's a great value!

Burgers, burgers, BURGERS!!!!! If you want the best burger you've ever had do yourself a favor and check this place out. I recommend the Buffalo Burger (hamburger covered in wing sauce and sprinkled with bleu cheese) and onion rings. If the Buffalo Burger isn't your style they have a ton of burgers to choose from. Their fries are so-so however their onion rings more than make up for it. Service is quick and friendly. All around a great place!

There is something for everyone at this place. My personal favorite are the wings especially the gold traditional style. It's some sort of spicy honey mustard I think. Lots of people love the pretzel burger. Some of the best service I've seen.

Very impressed! As new restaurants go, there is usually some growing pains, but this place has its act together. Creative menu, fast service, engaging servers, portion size is generous in comparison to the more than reasonable pricing. I have no doubt this will be a destination for southern Ohio residents migrating to KY for a day trip. Well done.
