Normally we love PF Changs but the service has really gone down hill. We always call in our order to go. Ever since PF Changs has gone to a national call center to take their orders there are usually issues. On our last visit I arrived at the location at the specified time and the store had no record of our order. The time before this they gave us brown rice instead of the white we ordered (and each container was 1/2 full). I just expect more for how pricey it is.

Such a great place to relax and eat lunch. Our waitress was Taylor. She is so pleasant and sweet and very accommodating. We always get the Shrimp with Candied Walnuts. It is so delicious each and every time. We will go back often, ask for Taylor and know we are going to have a great experience.

You know it's just the service at this location. Our waitress today kept complaining how tired she was. I really enjoyed the food. I don't particulally want to have a waitress that doesn't want to be there. It makes me feel bad and makes it hard to enjoy the meal.

I've always liked going to PF Chang's. The atmosphere and decor are inviting, their food is pretty delish, and I've always had good service. This was the first time I've visited the Wichita location, and my only issue was the white rice. It was extremely dry---either it sat under a heat lamp too long or it needed just a tad bit more of water while cooking. Our entrees were good, and you can't go wrong with the chicken lettuce wrap as an appetizer. Besides the rice issue, we enjoyed our meal and the service we received.

Great food, service, and ambience! Took my wife here for her birthday with our 1 1/2 year old child and had a great dinner. Made a reservation and happy we did, place was very busy when we arrived. ALL of the staff was very friendly, punctual, and professional. Clearly there is a high standard when hiring staff

I have been to several (5) different PF Changs in Michigan and Chicago area. This is by far very disappointing to say the least. After having a bad experience with our first trip to this restaurant we decided to give it another try since we typically love PF Changs. Well needless to say we will never come back. The service was horrible, the food was slow and cold, they do not mix the signature sauce for you, we had to ask for plates for our appetizer and main courses, soy sauce, and more water... Not the typical high class restaurant we are accustom to with this establishment for sure.

BEST SERVICE IN WICHITA!! Food is always good and consistent!! Great experience overall!! Love it every-time we go!!

My husband and I travel a lot for work and love PF Changs. This location was a bit different than the others. The service and atmosphere was great as usual but the food is different. The egg rolls are super greasy. If you squeeze them a stream of grease will come out. It'll runs all down your hand when you eat them. Also, the chicken fried rice has hardly any chicken in it. I'm not sure why this location is so different but its noticeable for sure. The worst thing about it is how super sick I became after eating there. I doubt we'll be back :-(

First and last visit. The food was pricey which would not have been a huge deal if it was actually delicious. Everything was quite bland, in my opinion. I had the kaleidoscope sushi roll, which was just okay. I have two stars, one for the server who was really nice and the other for the Crab Rangoon, which were good. My 9 year old niece says she enjoyed the Mongolian beef, I did try a piece and to me the beef was a bit chewy.

Pf changs usually has been good...but not this time. Servers seemed weary. Appetizer order taken twice...because one server did not "put it in". Mongolian beef was tasty but veggies were all green onion stems. Omg....bad The appetizers tried were poor...dried out or frugal servings. Just not liking it. It is the worst seen to date.

The wait staff is always kitschy. I've eaten here a handful of times over the past year, and every time something, like you would see on Bravo television network would occur here from the employees. The food is meh. Nothing great, but not dog food. The bartender will likely give you a healthy pour. Prices are a little absurd. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, but the restaurant is located in a convenient spot for me.

We have gone to this PF Chang a dozen times and to be honest it has been good, sometimes better than good. Recently though it has gone down hill and tonight was the worst. It took an hour to get our meals and sent the salmon back when it came out looking like a pink hockey puck. The rest of the meal was under whelming. To top it if our waitress seemed irritated and completely lost.

First timer. Great service and food! Had the meal for two. Lettuce wraps, egg rolls, spicy chicken, kung pao chicken, and chocolate peanut butter crunch dessert. Everything was fresh and tasty. Couldn't get enough of that Chang's Spicy Chicken! Waitress was awesome!

It was way too expensive and another one of those "too afraid to offend" with Asian food.

Blah. If you like American franchise food this place for you. Nothing was that good. Lettuce was crisp. Not sure wgy people rave about the lettuce wraps. Thats all.

Happy hour isn't bad here. They have some pretty good food deals. Dan the bartender was on it.

We were seated promptly and out waiter did an excellent job of anticipating any needs, such as drink refills, etc. He also did a fine job of explaining the menu and the sauces. The food was great as usual. This was my date's first experience at PF Chang's. She said that this may be her new favorite restaurant.

Everything I've ever tired from here is great! But the crab lump salad is the worst thing I've ever had in my life !!!! Just awful

I am a firm believer that PF Changs is the best chain in America...I have been to PF Changs all over the country - Chicago, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Seattle, Huntsville, and probably a couple others I don't remember right now. I have only ever had one dish I didn't like, and I knew it was questionable from the start based on my preferences. That being said, I think the Wichita location has some of the best consistency when it comes to quality and service. The people here are almost always ridiculously friendly. The other times, they are *only* very friendly. Also, quite efficient. The food comes out quickly, as do the drinks. The menu has a bit of everything. My personal favorites are the chicken lettuce wraps and the Mongolian Beef, which I believe wholeheartedly is the best dish at any major chain restaurant in the country. I've even had Ahi Tuna here, in Wichita, and it was really delicious. Sichuan From The Sea (or whatever they call it now...) was also my favorite, extra spicy please. However, it appears they dropped calamari as an option on the menu, leaving shrimp or scallops, which I simply do not like as much. Brown rice greater than White rice (apparently Yelp doesn't allow the "greater than" symbol...WTF, Yelp?!?!). Average entrees are $13 to $16. Also, a nice lunch menu...but I do wish the Mongolian Beef were on the lunch menu. Drinks are often quite strong, but they better be for $8-$10 in Wichita. Yeah, it's Americanized...very Americanized. This is an American chain in Wichita, Kansas...if you're coming in expecting authenticity, pardon me while I laugh uncontrollably at your stupidity.

Newly remodeled for great atmosphere. Chang's is a staple. Always great service and food that's reasonably priced with extensive gluten free options.

I had vetoed this chain several years ago after thinking how much every dish I ate tasted exactly like the other one. Now I must say that my opinion has changed. They still have the awesome chicken lettuce wraps that are always a hit. But I saw almost a completely new menu from when I had last been to this chain. I had the crab fried rice and it was an excellent choice. I shared some with the person next to me who did not like what she ordered. She loved the crab fried rice too. I also had the banana spring rolls with pineapple coconut ice cream. That ice cream was so good! I think if I go back I would probably order the same things again.

True story: While living abroad, I once had to visit an expat hospital in keeping with American standards of medical care. During this routine check-up, the blood pressure machine kept malfunctioning. It couldn't get a read on my -istolics, until finally two numbers so strikingly low appeared on the monitor that I was deemed hypotensive. That explained my dizziness upon standing. Ironically, by abroad, I meant China, a land where salt allegedly "reigns supreme" (ala Alton Brown style). Not even Shanghai could cure my ailments, nor could any vast amount of fried eggplant or wonton soup. Too bad this P.F. Chang's wasn't readily available for me. Mom (yes, she's legit Asian) and I (I'm a half-breed) ordered the hot and sour soup. We both requested a substitution for the egg-flour soup. Mom stated it best "This tastes like thick soy sauce." The egg-flower abomination wasn't much better. Though I cringed as my ancient father scooped ice into his soup, I later concluded "smart man." Instead of tasting like concentrated soy sauce, the egg flower soup tasted like concentrated miso thickened with corn starch and an an added kick of salt. While they split that dinner for two, I ate all of the rice. All of it. My bowl of white rice, and their giant bowl of brown rice. P.F. doesn't get one or even two stars because this brown rice was more than edible, it was actually good - and stickier than the white rice. (Don't tell my grandmother I ate and liked brown rice - she might bind my feet or something.) Still hungry, I tried to eat some of Mom's spicy shrimp. It was fine. It tasted like fried shrimp, but was a bit, well, salty and a lot more rubbery than necessary. Oddly enough, the tiramisu was kind of awesome, probably because it was soaked in enough espresso and cocoa powder to keep me up for half of the night. The creme was moist, and it wasn't a sugar bomb. My insulin levels didn't skyrocket, and I'm sure it did something to quell the Na+ coursing through my veins, but even now, 16 hours later, I'm fairly certain I'm still bloated from that salt.

P.F Changs is one of the only major chain restaurants to truly be dedicated to gluten free cooking - meaning they educate staff and take the proper steps to avoid cross contamination. Which is GREATLY appreciated by those of us who eat gluten free by necessity (not by choice). Their gluten free menu is printed right on the regular menu, so you don't have to ask for it. There are also designations for vegetarian dishes which is nice. I usually get the Singapore Street Noodles or the Fried Rice. A few times I've gotten the Buhdda's Feast, which is just steamed veggies - and they tell me they can't serve it with gluten free fried rice. Which is confusing since you can order an entree of gluten free fried rice. The mysteries of life. They also offer GF soy sauce (tamari), GF chocolate dessert and GF beer, all while keeping plates, utensils and cooking surfaces separate. A best practice in GF service for sure - one that keeps me coming back time after time.

Five stars for the food, three for the service. Met a friend here last night and we sat at the bar. Ordered lettuce wraps. Food came, but no dishes, silverware, or sauce until we asked for it. Friend ordered margarita on the rocks, got frozen margarita. I asked for a glass of riesling, got a red sangria. At least everything tasted good.

I cannot imagine a better atmosphere, Asian food, or wait staff. With two small children, the patio is the best place to eat for us. It gives the kids a little room to move around, and the nearby lake is a nice view. But this patio is not a regular patio where you have to constantly shoo away flies. No, this is a beautiful climate-controlled patio free of flies or Kansas weather hazards. Additionally, as soon as we sat down, the waiter was careful to note any food restrictions or preferences we might have, and was able to offer suggestions. The food was brought out quickly enough to stave off angry-hunger, but not so fast I felt like we were being rushed. Additionally, the food was delicious! A wonderful, reasonably priced family dining spot!

Pretty good. In for lunch menus. Good value but, the scallops are a little fishy. The Mia Tia's were good and the peanut butter cake excellent.

The food was very bland and lacking in spiciness where stated otherwise. If you enjoy the flavor and aroma of obviously pre-frozen food then this is the place to go! ESPECIALLY if you make entirely too much money and your looking for an excuse to waste some of it. If you prefer more reasonably priced better tasting food I would highly suggest going to a mom and pop Chinese food restaurant with actual Chinamen cooking. Cheers!

P.F. Chang's is great at many things, but their appetizers & bar make it the best happy hour (or any hour) place in the area. Their cocktails are standout - the black tea gimlet and the coconut lemon sour are nice twists on old favorites, while the new Vietnamese shrimp rolls are AM-azing. Take a friend, go grab a seat at the bar, and enjoy.

P.F. Chang's is great! Consistently delicious food, good service, and nice ambience no matter which location you're at. I highly recommend the Chicken Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer and the Chang's Honey Chicken or Beef with Broccoli as an entrée.

I used to reall enjoy PF Chang's but lately they've become a bit lacking. The seating is terrible. It's like every time I go in they have shoved another table in the dining room so it's stuffy and dark. That coupled with the terrible terrible service I have decided the food isn't worth it. Speaking of the food its just okay. I understand why it's popular because it's safe and expected. You are paying for presentation more than anything. If you have a large group of picky eaters than this is a safe place to eat, but for dates or small intimate groups I recommend a privately owned restaurant or a smaller chain.

P.F. Changs serves up consistently tasty food. I have always been happy with what I've ordered here, and you definitely leave full! This location in particular is nice because it offers patio dining, and even though there is usually a bit of a wait, they have plenty of room for people to wait, although some of it is outside. The downfall is definitely the service. It's so inconsistent. I've had great service here, and I've had terrible service here. I'd probably be more apt to go back more frequently if I knew that I could count on having a great experience every time.

If you are looking for a great place to celebrate a birthday or you have a big group, this place is awesome. You totally can order family style and the service is on point. Also, it is out of the ordinary. However, it would not be my first choice for Chinese food. Do not get me wrong it taste good, but it is too Americanized. I did enjoy the lettuce wraps tho.. They seem to be one of the best items overall. If you save room for dessert, you should definitely taste the Banana Spring Rolls. They are delicious.

Believe it or not, I have never dined at a PF Changs. It was Monday night and the place was fairly uncrowded. The service was excellent. I loved the chicken lettuce wraps, something we've done at home. I ordered Kung Pao chicken, always a good bet. I went with a Paul Dolan sauvignon blanc, crisp and perfect accompaniment with the meal. I love sauvignon blanc, especially with Asian food. PF Changs is now on my list of approved dining places. I'll be back, whether it's in Wichita or elsewhere.

While not as good as the food in Chinatown in San Francisco, this is a great place for good Chinese food. I really enjoyed my garlic noodles, but my iced tea tasted a bit funny. The service was excellent and the server was very sociable and quick to offer suggestions. The one major downside was the wait. They were apparently shorthanded, as there were several open tables, but we still had to wait over an hour to be seated.

It was my daughter's turn to pick for our weekly family dining out and she picked P.F. Chang's. This was the first time I ever went to a P.F. Chang so I really didn't know what to expect, though I did read the reviews here prior to going. My daughter wasn't new to P.F. Chang (having been there with her mother once) so she raved about the Chicken Lettuce Wraps prior to even getting there. So of course we ordered them and except for the fact that the Lettuce to Chicken ratio was off (we ran out of lettuce first) they were very delicious...worth ordering on all future visits! I ordered the Wok Seared Lamb and it did not disappoint...very tender, moist and scrumptious. The two others in our group had Double Pan-Fried Noodles w/Chicken and Pork Lo Mein. Our server gave us extra plates so that everyone could share their dish with each other which we did. Both other dishes were delicious too. We had good food, good service, got seated right when we walked in and walked out happy. Our trip to P.F. Chang's was a very good dinning experience that I'm sure we will make again.

Great food, great waitering, and a great atmosphere. I love eating here whenever I can! I like the size portions so you can eat family-style! And the chicken lettuce wraps are AMAZING.

The staff at PF..awesome! I went for my birthday and they were extremely attentive! Along with the appetizers ordered, the waitress offered us a FREE additional appetizer..their chicken wraps! One complaint that I have is that Chang's, like any other restaurant the seating is so close! My voice carries..so..that wasn't too good. The food was good..not spectacular..but good. I'd recommend it. OH YEAH! It offers a gluten free menu which is a plus for the gluten sensitive.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in town! You must get the Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer. I sometimes get them just as my meal and an order of crab wantons. Lunch time usually is not busy but dinner time you might want to make reservations just in case.

Singapore street noodles here are the best. Good ambience, courteous staff and quick service.

yum!! I have only been once, but since it was our first time we had complimentary lettuce wraps!! They have huge portions which is fun for sharing I had the beef with broccoli and rice! When I went we did not have to wait very long at all for a table :) The only down point about the evening was when our waiter lost my friend's credit card, she was very worried not fun :(

food is good, but the only thing i dont like (becoming more consistent) is that the food is salty. i'm not tasting the flavors of the meat, vegetables, sauce. chicken lettuce wraps are good.

  • Paige H.

I'm not gonna lie, I hate everything this place stands for. They take good food and make it as boring as possible. But, it's consistent, the service is fantastic and the desserts are downright gluttonous. We go here a lot for med school events, dinner with profs, recruitment etc, and it's in a really neat new development in Wichita, the waterfront. If you come during the summer you can wait for your table by the lake, and it's really pretty. The patio/bar area seems like a decent place for the after-work crowd too. It's too far East for me to go there regularly and pass up less commercial haunts in Old Towne but it's a safe bet nonetheless.

  • David G.

Its ok for dates and birthdays but if youre expecting to receive a complete meal then dont expect one here....maybe for about 20 dollars for one person not including the drink.

By far the best Chinese food in Wichita. Not hard to do given the abysmal choices for other Asian restaurants in the area. While I'm not impressed by many chains, yet PF Changs is an exception. The service level is stellar and consistent, and obviously the product of excellent training and management of the staff. The interior is stylish. The food is always well prepared with good variety of dishes. Some of my friends complain it's not really Chinese food, and you would be hard pressed to actually spot an Asian person in this Wichita location, be it staff or patron, but whatever you call it, it's pretty tasty. They have a really nice wine list (something rare at Asian restaurants). Avoid this place on Friday or Saturday nights, unless you show up very early, or late, because the crowds make for unbearable waits. The setting out on the patio looking out over the water can be quite wonderful when the weather is good, although sometimes flies can mar the experience.

Great service, great food, very good atmosphere. The calimari (yes, calimari at a Chinese Bistro) is the extremely good here. Call ahead if you are planning to eat here on the weekend. Service is quick enough for a lunch.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
