They only have appetizers after a certain time and the ones they had were horrible! I will probably just stick to drinks here. The service could have been better as well!

We are frequent guests at the West location. By coincidence we had the pleasure of being waited on by 'Lil Kara' for a few visits in a row and now my wife and I have found ourselves looking for her as soon as we walk in the restaurant. We have been pleased with the food-- drink prices are a little high especially for a sports bar serving in a plastic cup. We are both very observant when we are in restaurants ( we both were once servers) and we have seen some questionable things... For example: Why is the kitchen staff out of the kitchen and standing at the host stand? But I have to say the purpose of this review is from our disappointment on Sunday. A gentleman approached our table with a beer in hand asking us how everything was going. He came off as a manager but smelled and looked intoxicated. We were both taken off guard with how unprofessional that was. Overall Larry Buds is a decent hangout place and pretty good service.

Fun place to go to with your friends to watch games and have drinks. Lots of young people here during March Madness (especially KU games). Bartenders were pretty good -- adequate amount of alcohol in cocktail drinks and domestic beer prices weren't awfully expensive. But yeah, good times...especially with friends. Met lots of good people here! haha karaoke was funny too, especially the drunks...

Warm beer and horrible service! Met up with some friends at Larry buds after work the other night. I went up to the bar and ordered my first beer and then went and sat with my group. The waiter asked me where I got my beer and when I told him the bar he huffed and rolled his eyes walking around. I couldn't get service from him after that. All in all I won't be going back!

Nasty hamburger. Onion rings were over cooked and too hard to even chew.

Not just your ordinary bar food here folks. Good selection and Larry... well... Larry can COOK y'all. I highly suggest the When Pigs Fly Pork Wings, the Y Wings, the Chicken Licken Chip Strips and the Black and Tan onion rings. Good selection of food all the way around: salads, entrees, sandwiches and appetizers. Great place to watch the game with constant drink specials as well. Tons of TV's and sports bar games as well. Just a fun place to hang out and get your buzz on, night out with the friends, or when ya just want some good food to eat. :)

It was National Hamburger Day, and I wanted to celebrate. I'm running low on new burger places to try, though, so my mind finally turns to the advertisements I've seen in Splurge! and 360Wichita and just about everywhere else for Larry Bud's. Thanks to their significant online presence, I scoped out the menu, and I saw some interesting stuff on that big menu, so I went to go give it a shot. ...Only to find they weren't serving anything but pizza and appetizers on that particular Sunday. Maybe next year I'll get to celebrate the holiday in the respectful manner it deserves, but I wasn't too put out because I was interested in seeing just how thin their purportedly thin crust really was. Turns out, that crust is good. Really good. And when you top that thin crispy crust with the heap o' pulled pork that makes up the BBQ Pizza (with marinara swapped for the barbecue sauce because I like barbecue sauce but not that much), and that was a pretty extraordinary Midwestern/Tavern-style pie. First impression of Larry Buds: pretty good! So I come back in order to fulfill the promise I made to myself with the burger. Because I was feeling a bit ca-razy, I went with the buffalo burger, making sure to ask for the pretzel bun. Sweet potato tots were my chosen side because they're pretty trendy right now. Unfortunately, the burger was not as successful, which is to say not very successful at all. It came down to the patty - I was excited to see this well-formed and tall patty sitting in front of me, but when I took a bite, I found a texture that was actually quite similar to my tots: smooth and lighter than a burger ought to be. I mulled it over as I continued to eat: what was different? It wasn't previously frozen (would result in a tough and chewy burger); it had nothing to do with the seasoning (adequate) nor cooking (medium to med-well). Then it dawned on me: it's a texture like meatloaf - there's some binder in there. Maybe to keep the burger structurally sound? (I was surprised at how well it managed to stay together when it seemed to be so lightly packed) Or maybe I'm completely off the mark, but whatever it was, it was unpleasant. There were also some presentation aspects that I took issue with: the bun was much too big for the burger, and the bacon, finely cooked as it was, simply balanced itself atop the burger in the shape of an 'x', making it a little tricky to attack. With Larry Bud's being the first restaurant I've seen to offer Natty Light on tap, they certainly cater to some of the college crowd, and while there are indeed more than a few of young-looking adults carrying around those plastic cups, there also looks like there's a fair number of older regulars, too. The diversity gives Larry Bud's a nice sense of community, and combined with the food, it makes for a bar that's better than many, but still with its faults.

I love this place. I could smell the smoker outside so went with the Pulled Pork sliders. 3 of them came with each a different sauce that were all very good! A BBQ, a sweet and tangy (forget the name my server told me) & Boom Boom sauce was awesome, if you like spicy, and I do. Got the Homemade onion rings, was told they just stared making them from scratch and they were bad ass Onion Rings. Will Be back for a Ice Cold Schooner of Shock Top and the Sliders!

I was in the mood for a burger and this place was suggested simply due to proximity. I ordered the open face 8 oz. Boss burger. I did not think about it until after I had my first bite, but they did not ask what temperature I wanted it cooked. It was well done. I would have ordered medium, but I had no complaints since it was a decent tasting burger. I also did not want fries, so was happy to have non-fried options: green beans, cole slaw, cottage cheese. The other people with me ordered a regular (with a bun) 8 oz. Boss burger and a Reuben. Both the fries and waffle fries looked good and were all gone, so I'm assuming they must have hit the spot. I was working, so did not indulge, but they offered drink specials: $2 Mexican beers and shots of tequila. There was a third special, but I cannot remember what else was $2. At 9:30pm the karaoke started. If I would have had a beer (or tequila) I might have grabbed the mic, but everyone was spared the off key singing :) If you want to hang out in a bar, this will do the trick. They have many, many large round tables that seat anywhere from 6-10 people.

Oh, Larry Bud's. It's a great place to watch KU basketball games, but other than that, i wouldn't bother. Then again, it's only really a good place to watch KU basketball if there isn't also a WSU basketball game at the same time and during the tournament. It's the KU bar that is NOT the KU bar. The mixed drinks are more mix than alcohol, the drink specials are still over-priced, and the food is sub-par at best. The service ranges widely from awesome to miserable and fury inducing, depending on the server. I would never go here specifically for food. Pick any other place in Wichita and you will get better food of any kind. They do nothing better than anyone else. Oh, and it's always cold. I go here way too much considering that I dislike it so much.

The Cluckers are amazing!!! I could eat dozens of these bacon wrapped pieces of heaven!! Also, the pulled pork sandwich is to die for. It's a loud sports bar - but what do you expect?? The food is awesome and the waitress was so attentive! If you want to watch a game with friends, have amazing food, then I'd definitely recommend this place.

I've heard about this place for a long time but never made it out here until today. Walking in I had no idea what to expect. The place is huge but really dark. A few TV's on the wall but honestly nothing to be impressed with. There are far better sports bars in Wichita. The ceilings were tiles with random sports memorabilia mounted. Their menu had quite a few items and their Lunch menu was fairly low priced at 5.99. So you can expect to get a meal here for under $10. We all ordered their special which was a open faced brisket sandwich for $7.99. I thought that was a bit high considering how much everything else was. The waitresses were very nice and attentive so service during the lunch hour was great. Our drinks were always full and they offered to go drinks for free in a nice plastic cup. The brisket was surprisingly good. It had a smokey buttery taste with gravy on it. The green beans were nice but for some random reason there were raw onions on it. Fries was chosen as a side and were seasoned nice. Overall a lot of food. Not bad of a place for food but the atmosphere is dated and could be updated and really stick out with the amount of space available. They need more TV's if they want to be competitive.

Worst service I've ever experienced, lack of professionalism from so-called "manager", food was terrible and extremely overpriced. E.g. We had the chili cheese fries, the chili was scorched... Small cheese pizza was $13 with $2 for each additional topping. Out was burned as well. It's kind of upsetting I have to give this place a star at all.

Larry Bud's is usually the ideal place to watch WSU basketball with WSU fans.tonight was no different! The food fell short tonight tho. We started with the loaded potato bite appetizer things lol(none of the names will be actual names because I suck with remembering names) they were actually very good. When we move on to the burger,I had this buffalo drenched burger with bacon, I ordered it with double Pattie and went for the onion rings upgrade for my side.I'll tell you why both of these were bad decisions. The burger was pretty decent but making a double made it unbearable, the buffalo sauce was pretty much everywhere. I could take that because I'm at a bar and burgers should be big and messy there right.... but the big thing that made me mad was that I opted for the dollar upgrade of onion rings. With that I received approximately 7 decent sized onion rings.even though they were decent size the amount was just too small, on top of that they looked good but the actually taste was not that good.I am very critical when it comes to my onion rings tho! The thing that I did like was their only dessert which was the brownie sundae. Oh yea don't do the margarita but the big daddy was the right way to go! All in all the place was ok. Go a lot more for the atmosphere and the beer more than anything!

I am not a sports bar type but tend to find myself in them frequently around this time of year. It's always for someone's farewell party or after a wedding that I end up at Larry Bud's, and I always leave wondering why people like this place so much. The place is loud, overcrowded with furniture and patroned by a generous heap of douchebags-- both male and female. (A woman who goes out for cheap pitchers and karaoke in full hair and makeup but wearing sweatpants and flip flops is a douchebag.) The great thing about sports bars though, is they always have a decent drink special. Last night I attended a farewell party and took advantage of the $3 Mexican beers and 75-cent tacos. The beef tacos were worth every cent, and not a penny more. Garnished with six shreds of iceberg lettuce, and a wimpy sprinkle of mild cheddar cheese in a cardboard shell, they truly were 75-cent tacos. On the plus side, the salsa had a fair amount of heat. My date's Pretzel Hamwich ($8.49 served with spicy cole slaw) was a tasty meat and cheese mountain on soft pretzel bread. Pulled pork slathered in chipotle BBQ sauce and topped with melted cheddar cheese, the sweet/savory mess was right up his alley. Our server was excellent, by the way, and she gets her own star. Very attentive, timely, and never freaked when our party expanded two-fold. All in all Larry Bud's is just okay. I would never go just to hang out, though in this sports bar-centric town, I can see its appeal to the east siders of the Fox and Hound/Twin Peaks/Emerson Biggins oeuvre.
