Good food, good drink prices and great service who could ask for more? Also if you come here get the espinaca dip, it's cheap with your entree and you won't regret it.

This place does not seem to be able to keep consistent management. It is hit or miss on wether you will get good service or food. This visit our food was cold and the waiter got the order wrong as well. The waiter stated he would get the meals comped by management. This did not happen. The make up order that they offered instead took over 20 minutes and we waited on it to leave. We won't be back.

It's a very average place. Service was ok I guess... most other places are about the same; lots are better. Prices are basically the same as any other place like this. Food was SLIGHTLY above average because they use too much cilantro and I love too much cilantro. The food came fast-ish, but that's really about the only thing that stood out. They have way, way too many employees. The employees were by far the loudest part of the environment. Completely ridiculous. My sister and I ordered the same thing: tacos. The plates were extremely hot when they came to the table. They were so hot that they burned my sister's hand when she touched it for only a split second. I couldn't even see her hand make contact with the plate before it burned her. She had to soak her hand in ice water after. That alone guaranteed that I will never be back. There's no reason for plates to be so hot when they come to the table. Oh also, they put cheese on only one of my tacos, so if you order them be prepared to do part of the cooks job. I understand that many people like this place, so I may have just had an unlucky experience.

Can't complain at all, the food is great and half of the time, they have $2 Margaritas, (even if the food didn't taste as good, the margaritas will take care of that!

Was there Friday night 9/4/2015 after the Movies. Was seated imediatley. Wait staff was outstanding. Was a mother/daughter team. Lots of laughs with them. There was 4 of us and we all ordered different things. All came out in a short time and was hot! Food was great, drinks were great. In all was a great experience and will be back next time we are at the Warren West. BTW do Jose Peppers East when an the Warren East. Have never had a bad experience at either.

Love the chips with salsa , good service, like the parmesan crusted shrimp quesadilla. Sometimes their salsas are spicy and way salted.

This was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last. The value for the money is very very good. I was there with a party of six and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The chips and sals, which is especially important to me and my wife, were very good. Gotta love thin chips! At any rate, if you are in the Wichita area and have a hankerin' for Mexican, give this place a try.

The food was good but our service was AWFUL. We sat at the bar, and probably had 4 different girls as our "waitress." Out of the 4 of them, NONE of them could provide us service! Didn't refill our drinks, had to ask repeatedly for refills, and silverware, AND had to ask the front desk for a menu! It also took FOREVER to get our bill. There are other places with WAYY better service that will be getting my business in the future!

First of all, they changed their 'Tacos Al Carbon' to a cheaper grade of meat AND increased the price! Then we received an advertisement in the mail -- Stating that Mondays and Tuesdays MARGARITAS are $1.99. The server would not honor the ad, saying that they had changed their 'Happy Hour' and couldn't honor the ad. We weren't the only ones disgruntled -- a bus of Senior Citizens were there for the special as well. I decided to contact their Corporate Offices and complain. I feel it's wrong to advertise something and then not honor the ad. And I felt bad for the Seniors, as well. I watched several people change their minds, when they couldn't get the Margarita for $1.99. One of the Managers (Steve) contacted me the following day, making problems to send us certificates. But then he didn't follow through. I had explained that my husband and I ate lunch there every other Monday -- due to the convenience and the Margarita Specials. But apparently our business wasn't important enough to him to follow through. We chose to eat at one of their competitors on the next outing.

Best Mexican on the west side of Wichita. I love their creamy steak enchiladas. The e spinach dip is always delicious.

I really enjoyed our trip to this place. Maybe it's because my husband and I are early birds for dinner, but our service was awesome. The waitress wasn't too pushy but recommended some great dishes. The margarita was a little small for the price, but the people were so nice I think we will return!

Best Mexican restaurant on the west side. So much better than on the border!

In any town in the Southwest this place would be a two star at best, but in Wichita, which is not the Mexi Mecca of food, you take what you can get. The advertised "New Mexico Red" chili was a red chili sauce that probably has New Mexico red chili powder in it, but real "New Mexico Red Chili" is red chili with a little onion garlic and water (much stronger taste). This overly salty beef-broth with chili, tomato sauce and thickeners was not all that impressive on the tamales, which were not awful but left a lot to be desired. The guacamole and queso were good. Salsa was fresh but bland. The "filet mignon" tacos were likewise best for those who have had enough brain damage that their taste buds don't operate well, to miss the blandness of it all. Bar: Lightweight with most of the traffic in beer and sugary concoctions with cheap tequila. They bring out the only top shelf tequila shots chilled, which kills the taste (Newsflash, you only do that to rot-gut liquor to take the rasp/sting out of it). It's an impression of a Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately the impressionist seems to be Señor Wences (S'allright? Not all-right).

The wife and I had a great supper here. Our service was great as well as our food. I'd suggest getting the trio fajitas. The chicken and steak were good, but I'd eat the shrimp by themselves. They have a jalapeño with cream cheese on the back of them, and the kicker is they are wrapped in bacon. I'll definitely be back between the shrimp and the cheese sauce.

Low quality food in my eyes. Seemed to be scorching hot plates that would melt any cheese laid on it. They tried by adding a garnish, but it turned into a wilted mess. Service was fast and the waiter kept a watchful eye over our table. When Jose Peppers first came on the sceen it was more prestigious, but its fallen off.

Lete give you the highlights... 1. The wait on a Friday night was less than they expected 2. The servers and hosts were so very helpful, friendly and kind. 3. $1.50 for spinach queso dip is a great deal! 4. The kids get crayons, coloring pages and Teddy Grahams when we sit down 5. Kids meals come with apple slices and then an ice cream sundae. 6. The filet tacos are delicious! The balance of meaty steak, creamy avocado, fresh salsa, horseradish cream etc makes it heavenly!

Average Mexican but ok for Wichita. The service was very good on a Friday night but a little rushed like they wanted our booth. The food was very warm and the cheese sauce was tasty on the plus side. On the negative, the fried ice cream was very bland and lacked true flakes. Overall the food was decent, service was good but rushed. The food amounts were excellent though and we even got chips and salsa with our leftovers. I would return if nothing better was opened.

I really enjoyed my visit to Jose Pepper's. I was able to watch the K-State baseball team play at the bar while choosing from a selection of Mexican beers and pretty good margaritas and other cocktails. The food was your normal Mexican concoctions, but they were done very well. It's a very brightly lit and open restaurant and is just a pretty decent choice for some Mexican food after a movie next door or whatever else you've been up to.

This restaurant opened on the west side a few months ago, and it is always busy. Hubby and I went in at 7 on a Thusday and still had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. One thing we found unusual is that the hostess seating you leaves a bottle of hand sanitizer on your table for you to use until your food comes. And there are sani-wipes at the door on your way out. For a restaurant so obsessed with sanitizing my hands for me, they sure could do a better job of sanitizing their own restaurant! Everything was sticky and gritty-menus, tables, floor, restroom. Reminded me of the same grimy mess I experienced when this location was a Timberline. We also were seated at the crappiest table in the place-right next to the kitchen-so it was loud and bustling. Servers and managers all wore radios with earpieces and were busy talking on them as they raced past us. Servers bussed tables near us by dumping the plastic bins onto the ground with a loud bang. A server bumped into an extra chair at our table twice with their bin. The music was loud, and was '80s music the entire time we were there. Surprising to me as I thought most Mexican type restaurants played Spanish language music, but whatever. We got our drinks fairly quickly, and our chips and salsa, plus a spinach cheese dip that everyone apparently loves at a bargain 99 cents with entree purchase. The spinach cheese dip(called espinaca queso) was fairly good, and the salsa was decent. With our view of the kitchen we saw an employee "making" this dip-they empty it from a plastic bag into a pan on their steam table. Just in case anyone thought they actually made it in house, lol! We waited over 30 minutes for our entrees, and when they came out it was obvious that they had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time as the cheese on my was congealed and both our plates were incredibly hot. I had the "Pollo Magnifico" which was chicken with jalapeno cream cheese, rolled up and fried, with cheese on top. The chicken was very very dry. Maybe from sitting under the heat lamp so long? Beans and rice OK, but not amazing. Hubby got the fajita trio of grilled steak, chicken, and bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp. He thought his food was great. I sampled the steak and it was very tasty. A flock of servers kept our table clean, water glasses filled, and the bill was settled promptly. I don't know that we saw the same server more than once so if you like one server taking care of you you may not like their system. I hope they all split tips! I've been curious what this place would be like. Curiosity satisfied. If I'm with someone who wants to go here, I won't raise a fuss about going, but I wouldn't suggest it, either.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
