This is an adorable little breakfast restaurant that employs really delightful staff. We stopped in for a quick breakfast. I had a ham and cheese omelet and my colleague had the Denver scramble. This biscuits that came with our meal were fresh and warm and delicious. The actual meal wasn't blow your mind delcious, but it was spot on excellent diner fare. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Our first visit was enjoyable. We came in just before closing, but were taken care of quickly. Friendly service. Small space, nice & clean. My Patty Melt had good flavor, but could have been just a bit larger. My wife liked her Reuben, but would have preferred deli style corned beef to a patty. Onion rings were nice & crisp- right out of the fryer. We'll go back & try breakfast sometime. Fairly good value.

First place I ever ate at in Wichita. The waitresses are like 2nd mothers to my son. The food is always the same, which makes it comfortable. You know what you are getting at Jeanne's and I like it that way. I can walk there from my house which is an added plus. Wichita wouldn't be the same without this diner.

Was in Wichita for a short weekend trip and we needed a spot to meet friends for breakfast before heading home. We found Jeanne's and opted to stop it. it was a good find! When we sat down and looked at the menu, I thought it seemed a little lacking for a cafe's breakfast menu. However, I think I'm just used to diners offering absolutely everything and only half of them sounding worthwhile where Jeanne's seems to go with the offer only what's good approach. There are a good number of egg and omelet dishes. Pretty much all the combinations there you'd want or expect and maybe a couple of things you didn't know you wanted. There are then a few additional options like french toast, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and other good time breakfast staples. I opted for the Corned Beef Hash with a side of toast and scrambled eggs. I... got way more food than I could manage to eat. It was certainly a plate full. The corned beef hash was delicious, pan fried on the top and bottom giving it a little crunchy element and the center warm and moist. The eggs were well cooked and tasty. The toast was, well, toasted. Added bonus, they give you a tiny little cinnamon roll with your meal (all the meals) and it was delicious. Probably a good way to get people to order the bigger ones... I totally would have had I not already been full well before finishing my plate of food. The rest of our group had biscuits and gravy (1 vegetarian, one not) and an order of french toast. Everyone seemed completely full and satisfied at the end of the meal. The cafe itself is simple and fairly small. Decor is minimal and casual. The waitress was super friendly and took good care of us. Food was out of the kitchen quickly. If you are looking for a tasty and satisfying breakfast, you would do well to go to Jeanne's.

Stopped off at Jennie's before heading back to the Lou. Must say it was everything the review said. "Delicious breakfast with hot cakes that melt in your mouth! " My daughter had the spinach bacon tomatoe omelette which she loved! The waitress was very pleasant, we overall had a great experience!

This was a cute little diner. Quaint atmosphere, nothing too fancy, but solid at the basics. I did greedily enjoy a decadent coconut pancake. Yum yum yum! My husband ate his weight in bacon. The food was good and moderately priced. I had to wait a bit longer for coffee refills then I would have liked, but I suppose that's sometimes part of the diner experience. All in all a good little breakfast spot.

My family & I were passing through Wichita and spent the night nearby. Yelp is how we find good food in strange places and this was no exception. The only downside to this restaurant was that it's small and has no public restroom. We got the last available table when we got there and didn't need the restroom so neither of these were a problem for a us. Food was very reasonably priced, servings were big, service was great and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our breakfast very much.

Quickie Review: Poor service, food was bad, prices high, and the dinning area very bland. While it wasn't the worst thing ever, it was far from great...or even good...or even the middle of the pack. Spend your money elsewhere. After reading all the great reviews I was excited about checking out this local Café. That was the last exciting part of my experience. The café is pretty bland. I love local dinners because of the environment and this one was devoid of any local feel at all. The server was kind, but not good. We asked for coffee as soon as we arrived and didn't get it until right before our meal came out. We asked her for it 3 times. That was odd. The other reviews say service is amazing, so maybe it was just an off day. On to the food. It just was not good. I got the Bob's Skillet that is listed as a local favorite. It literally was served with a slice of cheese on top of the food. Seriously. A SLICE OF CHEESE! I felt like I was eating in a college cafeteria. I'm not even a picky eater and this was not good. My wife didn't finish her biscuits and gravy. If you know her, you'll know food has to be just awful to not get eaten. The gravy was very clearly out of a can or something. Just not good. The pancakes were not bad. I've tasted far better, but they certainly were not as bad as the rest of the fare we ordered. The prices were also high. We each got a meal and a coffee and I ordered a $.45 side of gravy. Our bill was about $25 for 2 people. Acceptable if the food was good. It was not. There are several really great breakfast joints in Wichita. Try one of them and don't waste time at this one.

Good breakfast. If you are in this area, go. But, it's not a destination to look forward to like some of the hole in the walls around town seeing great breakfast at a more reasonable price. Good service.

Solid choice for breakfast food. I really enjoyed the local feel of the place. We ordered the potato skillet and a side order of pancake and half order of the biscuit and gravy. Instead of country fries, we requested hash browns, and they had no problems with that. I thought the skillet was good, and we got two home made biscuits with it. I didn't hear that part, or I would've just asked for a side of gravy. The gravy was nice, but def not made from scratch. the pancake was huge, and one was enough for me. I don't believe the syrup is real maple. So this is your average breakfast joint making solid food.

I needed a change of gears from the offerings the hotel has for breakfast options so I looking for a good place to get some breakfast. I relied on Yelp to guide my decision, and [you all] didn't let me down. Jeanne's seems to be a small, family owned and operated restaurant, which thankfully hasn't been run out of business by the larger chains. The three egg omelette with bacon served with hash browns and choice of toast or biscuits. The omelette was fluffy and hot, the hash browns were served golden brown, and the two towering biscuits lined the side of the plate like skyscrapers on a city horizon. The biscuits had a slight buttery taste and had a home made touch, add jelly or honey and you have a taste of pure heartland Americana. Jeanne's seating is limited and probably isn't the best place for parties larger than 5. Their staff is friendly and prompt with the food coming up from the kitchen [signaled by the bell *ding*]. They're in the corner of a plaza, and can be easy to miss from the street if you don't know where to look. Solid Americana breakfast with no frills.

The Livingston family have been in the Wichita restaurant business for a solid century, and in that time you can amass a solid following of regulars, as evidenced by my visit during the apparently extremely busy hours of Sunday lunchtime, but in order to keep those regulars coming back, you have to keep serving them the food that made them so happy in the first place. I didn't enjoy my meal. It was a roast beef dinner, which I heard was a popular selection amongst the regulars. It came with mashed potatoes, corn, a white roll, and plenty of brown gravy, which the beef needed - because it was dry - and the potatoes, too - because they needed salt. Mixing the corn niblets and mashed potatoes together is something that I used to do as a kid, and it's something that my parents still do on an assuredly regular basis. It's this familiarity that irks me, but it's also probably the homestyle cooking that many people love and confine themselves to eating for an eternity. I find it boring, uninspiring, and it's not why I go out to eat at restaurants. Many people disagree, though, and if you are amongst them, I encourage you to ignore this review and check out some of the others - they seemed to like it quite a bit.

My family and I enjoy going out to breakfast every weekend and our 1st choice is always Jeanne's Cafe. I admit we do live very close which makes it an easy choice but the food and service always keep us coming back. I always order the same thing, the French Special which is 2 eggs, bacon, sausage patty, and French toast. Occasionally I will add a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. The bacon is always crisp which is something that I prefer. I also like the sausage patty and it has just enough spice. The way I order my eggs are scrambled with cheese and the cheese is like shredded Velveeta. The French toast is 2 slices cut into triangles and served sprinkled with powdered sugar. There isn't anything special or made with fancy ingredients, it's all just traditional breakfast food and good. They have crushed ice which makes the drinks just that much better. My wife usually gets and omelette and they are always good. She also likes her hash browns lightly cooked and they will make them to your particular liking if you ask. They are also "kid friendly" and we can always find something for our little guy to eat. There is limited seating when it's busy but the wait is never very long. The staff is friendly and does a good job of getting your food out quickly. It does her busy around between 9:00 - 11:00 AM but if you get there before that you should be able to get right in.

I was here two weeks ago, while on business. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I was hoping I hit the jackpot. The staff was AMAZING, I must say, very kind, very attentive. Treated me like family, but in a good way. The food on the other hand... The eggs were scrambled, they arrived very dry and overcooked. When I make them at home every morning they are light and moist, even when I am multitasking, and they cook too long, they are still moist. Maybe their eggs are old. Pancakes were way too dense. I wanted to love this place, esp with the staff, but I can't.

So the wife and I were out and about yesterday. I read about Jeanne's on yelp before and it just so happened we drove right by it. We decided to stop by and give it a try. I had the sausage special with hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and wheat toast. My wife had a tuna salad sandwich and potato soup. Both were excellent. My hashbrowns were crispy on top(which I love but can't do at home for the life of me) and the sausage was spiced right and juicy. My wife's potato soup was great with little chunks of potato. The wait staff was very attentive and we even mentioned we saw the yelp reviews and one of the ladies was very happy to see that the cafe had such great reviews. She loved Quinn's comment of "equal parts sass, moxy and maternal" which I have to agree was spot on :) My wife and I will be back. Excellent restaurant and a place I would like to work and hone my cooking skills.

This. Place. Rocks. After hearing about it for months, I went here for the first time a couple days ago. It was breakfast time, and the French Special (French Toast, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage) didn't disappoint. In fact, I didn't eat again until dinner time. If you know me, that's no small feat. We got attention from all the waitresses, who are equal parts sass, moxy and maternal. I can't wait to make this place a weekly breakfast destination.

It was a Sunday morning and 7 am. I was driving around Wichita looking for a place to eat that didn't say McDonald's on the outside. I was ready turn into any parking lot when I saw an open sign at the corner of Oliver and Douglas. Hallelulah, it was breakfast time. I walked in the door and the first impression was that the place is very small. As I ordered my bisquits and gravy with a side of bacon, I looked around the place. It had a sense of a small town diner with influences of modern city life. One thing I can say about the place is that it immediately made me comfortable and gave me a feeling that it was alright to slow down and enjoy the day ahead. The food was great. The bisquits were fluffy and the gravy had large chunks of sausage to indicate that yes this gravy is home made and not of the instant variety. The bacon was crispy and the service was excellent. My mother always told me that breakfast was the most important meal of the day, but when you eat fast food the message just doesn't come across. I walked out of the place with a fresh new outlook on the day ahead and breathed in the morning air. For at least the time I was at Jeanne's Cafe I felt as if I were in a small town. Wichita may not be the largest city, but it sure is larger than what Jeanne's makes you believe Modern meets Mayberry. New meets old. The country can be found in the center of the city.

I'm glad I don't live nearby this neighborhood cafe, or I'd be THE big man in the neighborhood. My Mom & Dad invited the wife and I to dine here after a rainy noon funeral, promising us a great menu, and it didn't disappoint. We tried two of the daily specials, a small pork Monterrey (crisp flour shell topped with beans, meat, lettuce, cheese & sauce) and a chili-smothered burrito. Each came with a bowl of chips and a tasty salsa. I was tempted by my Dad's chicken fried steak (have to go back and try that one another time). The featured vegetable on his dinner was corn, but he mentioned peas, and sure enough, they substituted peas with no trouble. Portions were more than expected, service was great. The menu features all-day breakfasts, sandwiches, soups and salads, and your standard diner "comfort food" fare. Wish I had room to try their pies. One small note: it's not a large place, so you might have to wait for a table during the lunch rush. However, two ladies who had been seated at a 6-place table got up and moved to a smaller booth to accommodate our party of six. Overall, a "hidden treasure" neighborhood cafe/diner that we'll be visiting again soon.
