Fairly good steak- really liked the salmon - good value. You can get an entree and 3 sides for 9.99. Good and clean - you can make flavored soda - the couple of salads I have had were pretty good.

"Horrible service casts HUGE shadow over decent food" should be the motto for this place. For awhile now I have been trying to give this place a chance and after the fifth time, I will gladly say it will be my LAST. Reason being is the service from the gossipy teenagers who just want to make your sandwich or salad and get back to socializing with each other, is just so horrible that you begin to feel like your causing them problems by having them stop conversing. Not only that the management allows this type of service to continue and sometimes condones it by being just as lazy and immature as their employees. Now for the food, if the service is fast, then you can expect decent food, however, if you walk in and it takes 5 minutes for them to get to you just expect for the food to be mediocre at best if not missing a majority of the ingredients. And if your vegetarian and ask for no meat and double black beans, expect to pay extra. Why? Even the cashier couldn't explain that one. Tread with caution when going to this place for it is a coin flip every time you enter the door.

Fresh & healthy! Like their website says.. be as healthy as you wanna be! Fresh made custom (your choice) salads and topings, including meats, or choose from some of their signature salads. Hot foods, cold foods, soups, some bakery items, many drinks to choose from. Go to their website to check out the menu! This place is really good! Order at the counter, watch your meal be prepared, pay at the register and have a seat! 4/11/08: I reduced my rating to 4 stars. Reason being, the last time I went there it seemed a little unorganized. You need to watch while they are preparing your food to be sure you are getting what you asked for. They were making a sandwich not quite how it was requested. Also, I don't know if they used an incorrect container size but the salad my daughter ordered .. well I thought it was my side salad, not her main dish salad! I sure hope it was the wrong container size because otherwise, it was way too pricey. I did comment on it and ask but they insisted that it was the main dish salad she ordered. Hmmmmm

So I got it wrong the first time. At first I thought Doc Green's food was just average, but since trying it a couple more times, I've changed my mind. I'm proud to say that I'm now a fan! The healthy options and generous portions are what sold me. I'm a big salad eater and this is one of my favorite spots to go for lunch now. The amount of food you get for the cost is very reasonable. You won't be disappointed if you make the trip.

I know I shouldn't judge 'em by just one visit, but the Asian salad I got here was very average. But, I'm sure the other salads are good. My buddy got a chicken panini. The food here is no guilty and feel good :) really fresh and much less greasy than some of the other places around it.

I am a sandwich and salad snob - I'll admit that. I enjoyed my Greek Salad and my San Pellagrino bottled mineral water. Few places have Pellagrino or any mineral water for that matter on the menu, so I really enjoyed this as an option. I have to agree with Frank F - the staff takes away a star from my review. The atmosphere isn't bad, it just isn't "special" enough to rate a fourth star. For groups you have to gather a few of the tables together and you'll end up in one long line, but that works for lunch with co-workers.

You know, I am really surprised this place has averaged 3 stars...really. Every single time I visit, there is a long line and the place is packed. This place offers a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads (and more) and a great selection for the little kiddos. I LOVE the tomato basil soup, it is sooo good but not as hot as I prefer-that's annoying. The staff is friendly and the place has a nice vibe. This place accommodates office gatherings and offers outside seating as well - nice. I recommend checking out the menu on their website; it can be a bit overwhelming for your first visit, but defiantly give this place a try.

The salads were good, but I wouldn't pay the $7 each of our rather small salads cost again. My wife requested they chop her salad, which wasn't done. A bit of a disappointment. I kind of miss SouperSalad, myself!

If you like options, this would be a decent lunch option for you. As for the indecisive type, be ready to ponder/stare at the menu. Not only do you have to choose what type of entree (paninis/sandwiches/salads) but you also need to decide if you want to pair it with a soup or a side like macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes or salads or vegetables to name a few. The possibilities are endless. This is a great place to grab lunch with a group of people who have different preferences. There are many healthy choices and also not-so-healthy options. I had the California Chicken Panini with a side of Macaroni and Cheese. Not bad. The Panini was ok and the Mac was good. Pretty mediocre lunch spot. Atmosphere wasn't anything special, service was okay, food wasn't anything to write home about. I probably wouldn't recommend it or return. I'd advise that they narrow down their menu a little bit and focus on getting a couple of the menu items right.

excellent choice if you're around the waterfront area! i went here with my husband & his little brother, since we were looking for a deli/healthy option. when we got there, both my husband & i, who live out of town, were pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu & plentiful choices! salads, soups, wraps, paninis, AND croissant sandwiches! i ordered & highly recommend their croissant turkey sandwich. though there are only 2 options for croissant sandwiches, i doubt you can go wrong with either. my BIL got the buffalo chicken wrap & suggested that both of us get salads as our sides. we all enjoyed every part of our dish. i also asked for extra chipotle ranch dressing & they provided me some without charging me more :) the only thing i didn't really like, but not worth taking off any stars was that their turkey is sliced very very thick & it was just a tad bit annoying that each bite of my sandwich, i would get a huge chunk of meat too. the turkey was sliced the same thickness in the panini sandwich my hubby ordered & noticed the same thing :P other than that, you can't go wrong coming here!

For some reason this place makes me uncomfortable. The food is pretty decent; I prefer the steak sandwich. Decent beer selection. Not really overpriced. Very young staff, though, and that's hurting them. Seems to be frequented by an attractive hip crowd.

I was pretty happy with Doc's... I just wanted a salad and a little protein boost, got the Dr. Detroit with steak and it hit the spot. My salad had spinach, BACON and mushrooms... with the added steak it was a good combo, plus, you can't go that wrong with bacon. Recommend it if you are in the mood for a quick, sensible salad.

My brother is not a fan of this place. Why? Because he simply can't stand lettuce. Or tomotoes. Needless to say, a restaurant called Doc Green's would send any lettuce-hating guy running screaming into the fog. So let's just praise 'im that I've got a more open mind. An open mind that enjoys the turkey panini, and, a discovery from my most recent visit, the chicken salad sandwich (with just a hint of curry). The side offerings range from mushrooms to soup to mac 'n' cheese. You can even build your very own salad (if this conjurs up scary thoughts of Souper!Salad!, I apologize...Doc Green's is a whole different ball game). If anything, you gotta love a place where the motto is "As healthy as you wanna be."

I was driving through The Waterfront commercial and retail space when I came upon Doc Green's. The salad concept is interesting, and I thought I had managed to find the one restaurant in the area that isn't part of a franchise. Wah wah: Doc Green's has six locations in Georgia and two in Wichita. Still, places like this with only a handful of other locations still might have a chance to retain some quality, so I checked it out. Salads are the selling point for Doc's, so I figured a salad would be right for me. The thing is, I don't really like salads all that much. I don't have a problem with the individual components, but lettuce is boring, it's difficult to get a bite of everything, crunchy components like nuts and croutons are nearly impossible to stab with a fork, and the dressing often completely covers up everything else. As my eyes wandered down the menu, I grew more and more indifferent until I came upon the vegetable salad - "field greens, grilled zucchini & yellow squash, grilled portabella mushrooms, roasted red peppers, red onion, avocados, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing." I like vegetables, and this salad didn't appear to feature these veggies so much as they did place them on even footing with the leafy stuff. I ordered it with some grilled chicken. Everything came together in the salad well, and I actually enjoyed it, despite the greens. The only drawback was the grilled chicken, which was so pale and flavorless that I regret wasting my money on this medallion of processed meat that was once part of a bird. I do appreciate the healthy angle of Doc Green's but from a salad perspective, Dillon's operates a decent salad bar from 9 AM - 6 PM that will get you most of the way there. They offer wraps and paninis, too, but given my bad experience with the protein, I'm not in any rush to try them.

Admittedly, I avoided Doc Green's like the plague. Why? Late-onset teenage rebellion I suppose. When a salad place is stationed next to frozen yogurt, an angst-filled, heart-broken twenty-something is likely to choose frozen yogurt over any salad. But then there that day when the clouds cleared, and my body started craving peculiar things...like spinach. So I ventured into Doc Greens. As crowded as Chuck-E-Cheeze on a Saturday, the line at the Doc's wound around the partition. Surprisingly, jumpy children spiraled around parents, begging for a cookie or mac n' cheese. I opted for a build your own salad, assembled with fresh spinach, dried cranberries, feta cheese and black beans. Much to my chagrin, no chickpeas were available. The honey mustard dressing is a must, sweet and slightly spicy, it's a loving topping without the fat of blue cheese or dairy laden ranch. Though DG touts many gluten free options, I'm not entirely convinced cross-contamination isn't an impossibility. Unless you specifically ask for no pita, you will be served a salad with a slice of wheat bread. And the meat is cut in the same area as the breaded chicken tenders. Croutons seem scattered as well.

I haven't been to a quick dining concept with a build your own salad concept. This is like Chipotle with greens! They have a salad menu, but building my own is more fun. Mine was: Mixed greens, ham, egg, blue cheese, tomato, cranberry, and candied nuts with a light toss of Greek vinegarette. Delicious, and all the ingredients were good. I also had a half California Chicken panini, which was very good. The service from the young folks working there was friendly and gracious.

SLOW!!!! I have waiting 15 min for my sandwich and the place is only about 20% full, kids behind counter are talking more than working. Just watched the guy help with cash register and go back to making food without changing his gloves. Finally got my sandwich and the chicken had grill marks on the outside but still semi-frozen on the inside. Last several times I have been here service/quality has been lacking.

GREAT restaurant, if you want to get food poisoning. I came here with my family. Out of about 8 people, my dad and I were the only ones who ordered the same thing. We were also the only ones to get really sick several hours later. I know food poisoning happens at even the cleanest dining establishments, and that most people who've eaten here probably haven't gotten food poisoning, but this place didn't seem that clean (given the location), and since these types of restaurants generally prepare food in bulk, I'm almost positive that anyone who ate the same thing that we did on that day probably had the same experience. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from in this area....go there.

I sat here and scrolled my mouse over the 2 stars...then 3 stars...then back to 2, and back to 3. I'd like to say 2 1/2 stars but 3 will suffice. I've never been a huge fan of places like this where you shuffle through a line and have someone make a salad for you as you watch patiently behind an over-sized sneeze-guard. However, they do a really great job here and their salads are delicious. I like getting the Greek Salad with salmon personally and a cup of the Tomato Bisque. It's Kansas so of course there are plenty of salad options that are not at all salads, things that have Buffalo Wings and Ranch dressing. Their wraps are good, the soups are only okay, and its always crowded when I go with a line waiting to order. They do have beer and wine which is a nice touch but you'll end up drinking it right next to some stranger as their seating arrangement is very European with tables lined up directly next to each other. I would be happy to consider Docs a 3 or 4 star place if it wasn't for my last experience there where I contracted a bacteria toxin from their lettuce. My doctor said it was pretty common of these salad places and I wasn't the first Docs customer to come in complaining of an illness from them. It took me 2 weeks to get the toxin out of my system and it wasn't a pleasant experience to say the least. Since then I've been wary of all salads I will confess, but I have not had the courage to go back to Doc Greens and order a salad. Namely, I didn't LOVE the salad enough to go back and risk getting sick again...so I ask myself, was the salad what I liked about this place or was it the speed? It was the speed. I will go back at some point, they make good food and they are very friendly...but maybe next time I'll just get a wrap and some soup.

I am really surprised at all of the low reviews. We eat here after church and they offer good healthy options that taste good with fast service. My kids enjoy coming as well!
