It's okay. But it's really expensive. $5 for ONE regular taco? That is just crazy. Not close to real Mexican. And that's fine. The taste is still good. Just not $5/taco good.

Surprisingly delicious tacos for this small town. I only got one taco and it was huge! Plenty of food for lunch. My friend had nachos and she said they were good. If I'm in the area again I will make sure I'm hungry just to have it again!

Husband really liked Toto taco-with ground beef. I liked it as a 3.5 The place was cute and fun place to eat. Great service.

It's an awkward experience going here. They need to decide on either restaurant or chipotle style. U wait in line for 10 min over lunch hr than have to set down and wait again. Speed it up for people on the run and seat those who wanna sit and eat Tostitos chips, bland food, No spice, very slow and expensive. For the price it should be better

This is the worst taco I have ever had & for $17 the portions were way to small!!!! If you see this place turn around & run!!!! I will not be returning.....

I stop by here about once a week and order a variety of plates and I'm always delighted. (I had the Guaco Taco today.) I see a lot of families eating here after checking out the Oz Museum a couple doors down. The kids and adults alike have fun counting all the Totos hiding around the restaurant. It's a good place. Check it out. My only complaint is that they're closed on Mondays.

If you ever find yourself in Wamego, KS this place is a must for lunch or dinner. I had a Wet Burro and my wife had a Yellow Brick Burrito. Both were made super quick and we're both amazing. Highly recommend!

A few friends and I went for a day adventure to Wamego KS for the Oz Museum. Afterwards, it made sense to go to Toto's Tacoz for lunch. Our first sign should've been the "z" at the end of tacoz. Though there isn't much to pick from as far as restaurants in the area, I would say maybe pack a lunch instead. I had the Green Burro. There just wasn't much flavor. Edible, yes, but why spend the $8.99 on something this subpar? We shared Chips & Salsa. The chips come from a bag that you'd find in the grocery store. At least they weren't stale. The salsa was forgettable. No spice at all. My friends didn't particularly care for their lunch either. I'd say, "Go for the experience!" ...but there is no experience. Toto's Tacoz décor is tacky and not in a good way. True, I've had worse "Mexican". But Toto's Tacoz is a place that wouldn't be able to stand on its own without the Oz Museum next door.

We stumbled in here after the Oz Museum - the way so many do, I'm sure. It was quaint, with a fun blend of Mexican, bright colors, Kansas icons, and Wizard of Oz decorations melded together. The service was fantastic - as it should be coming from the owner. In fact, if it wasn't the owner, I'd be surprised. He cared too much to be hired help. The food was pretty darn good for small town Kansas. We had carnita tacos (I think) and added on rice and beans. (Uploaded a pic if you want to scroll through them.) We got plenty of food for a reasonable price. Next time I'd skip the beans for sure (just not my thing) and I really didn't need the rice, although it was okay, because the taco was enough alone.

My husband and I ate here a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it! We raved about it for months to our friends. We had the opportunity to come by again this past year, but sadly the day we were in town was the day it was closed. We definitely try to come back again!!! Great burritos!

I'd highly advise you to keep moving on and not stop at totos tacos. The food tastes very processed. Nothing seems freshly prepared. If you order chips and salsa, they open a bag of tostitos and put it in a basket. Nothing is freshly prepared--tastes as if they opened a jar and warmed everything. My friend and I each got seperate things-- she two tacos (beef and chicken) and I got a "yellow brick road chicken burrito. Both entrees were what you could do at home. Cute name, poor quality food.

Great place especially after visiting the Oz Museum then you must walk down to Oz Winery and try some flights of wine, they even ship back bottles if your state allows!

Great food! Great staff! Friendly people! I just wish their hours weren't so... Random!!!! Place is decorated very cute and wizard of oz themed and over all always an enjoyable experience when I come here.

Toto's is a great alternative for lunch in Wamego. The food is California style, not the typical Tex-Mex of most Midwestern Mexican restaurants. I like the Enchilada Dinner but I haven't had anything bad on their menu. It's family friendly with a unique atmosphere. My only complaint is they are not open for dinner.

Why Yes, Toto...we are still in Kansas! O.K what Toto and Tacos have to do with one another...I have no idea, but in Wamego...they are trying anything to play on the Wizard of Oz theme. Which is fine with me.It was a nice break from fast food. This is a small taqueria with a fresh Mex style menu items which include "Munchkins Tacoz" for the kids to "Bust my Buttons" burritos. They have some great pico de gallo and guacamole to go with boring tortilla chips. Toto's Tacoz also features local wizard of Oz. paintings and murals in a mexican restaurant. (Kinda weird mix).I thought the food was pretty good and so did my family. Another plus....the bathroom was very clean.

I love the Dorothy's Quesadilla. I order it with onion and cilantro with chipotle sour cream on the side. Yum! The service is great and the staff is helpful and friendly. Fresh, made to order, California style Mexican food.

Right next door to the Oz Museum, and you'll see billboards for that all along I-70, Toto's Tacoz made our detour to Wamego even more wonderful. We had really flavorful Mexican food in the heart of Kansas, and surprise, surprise, we could even get a Mexican beer to go with it. It's a tiny place--basically an order window with a couple of tables inside and a small patio outside. Everything is to go and is served in plastic to-go boxes, utensils are plasticware, and the ambience is colorful kitcsh (e.g., there's a great ceiling painting of Dorothy hanging on to Toto as he's being pulled out of the house during the cyclone...he's already lost his sombrero!). A real treat--surprisingly good food and a friendly, courteous staff.

Great food - filling and delicious! This was a nice surprise addition to Wamego during the time that we lived there. On our first visit, we wondered if it was going to be a wannabe-fufu Mexican joint (read tarted-up Cisco special) or at best a "good effort" in Smalltown, KS. Beyond our expectations, it was fantastic! Fresh, delicious and made-to-order! My favorite order was always a simple b/c burrito w/ everything hot in the place added - YUM! Husband swore by all of the tacos. Plus a bottle of Mexican beer on the little patio and you've got it made. Ambiance is eclectic mix of Yellow Brick Roadside Tex/SW/Mex. The only thing that stands in the way of the experience was the size of the place. During rush-hours (and sometimes random times) it's SRO. You wont be disappointed.

I was honestly surprised at how delicious the food was. It's just a tiny little place in a tiny little town, but the decor is super cute and the food was cheap and really good. Even the people working there were friendly!

Surprisingly good. The pork tacos were tasty. Salsa was good. Not bad for a small town and a great alternative to fast food.

Good food, and a fun stop if you're over in Manhattan. Friendly staff, and a Baja Fresh-inspired menu. Not terribly authentic, but better than average for this area.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
