So I drove by this place for years after we moved to town thinking "Custard?!? BARF!" Well, I was ignorant. One day, a thankful customer of mine asked if she could bring me, "some cheese." She had previously told me about how she smokes Gouda and other yummy stuff in her grill/smoker thing, so I thanked her and said, "sure!" I was surprised when she was back in just 15 minutes with a little styrofoam cup and asked if I like chocolate....I mean, she lives like, 20 minutes away or something--what, did she keep cheese in her trunk? Wait...did she just say, "chocolate?" So she actually asked if she could bring me, "some G's." So the spoon on the styrofoam cup made sense and then my inner face melted. I'dn't tasted such a rich yummy cold dairy treat in my life! AND I grew up in Pittsburg where PICCO (Pittsburg Ice Cream COmpany) taught my tasters that the stuff in the store freezer can only be so good. Ice Cream, Frozen Yoghurt, Ice Milk, Gelato, Frozen Custard...they're each different. What's absolutely different and better about G's than all the other frozen custard shops in town is the quality. There are several--perhaps dozens--of products available from dairies which get turned into this cold stuff we love to eat. G's gets the very highest quality available--the others just...don't. It costs a touch more, but you can taste it and it's totally worth it!

I love G's! It's a classic frozen custard spot. It clearly has a lot of history and local love. You can sit outside on a nice day if you have a large party or stay cool inside at one of the smaller tables. Best chocolate malt I've ever had.

G's is so yum! They always have fresh cones. The custard is always just right, not to hard, not too soft. My favorite is brown bread and I love when they have no bake cookie.

What can I say about G's? I grew up eating there in the summer with my dad, and I go there for a special treat every now and then. The brown bread is the most popular, but I recommend anything with caramel or fruit. Pretty much anything you get there is delicious!

Oh, I am DEFINITELY a fan of the frozen custard! After driving through most of Kansas and seeing Freddy's signs everywhere, the bf and I decided to find a frozen custard joint on our way to where we were heading. Our GPS suggested G's and, like the good Yelpers we are, we immediately looked up the reviews... which are all great! So even though it was a snowy Sunday afternoon, we stopped in to G's for a mid-afternoon snack. Sure enough, this custard was delicious! I ordered the Ruby Red (red velvet custard flavor) which was soooooo good and totally tasted like a red velvet cupcake was mashed into a cup of custard and then frozen. The bf ordered the brown bread flavor which was also very nice -- a bit nutty and a nice bready flavor. I think every day is a good day for some G's frozen custard!

Never tried a flavor I didn't like here. Love the creative flavors- brown bread?! Very friendly service. A great place to visit with the family anytime, but especially on a warm summer evening. There are plenty of tables outside- everyone is always friendly there. Seem the local fire truck always makes an appearance for custard when we are there...

Great neighborhood spot to get quality custard. Tried the brown bread after hearing a ton of people ordering it - definitely different, but genuinely loved the vanilla. If you can make something simple like that shine, then everything else is academic IMHO. If you're not wanting to commit to a cup or regular sized cone - they do offer and endorse a 'sample' size, which is served in a baby-sized cone which costs .50

Yummy stuff served here. If you're an ice cream addict, as I am, this place won't disappoint!

i've been here a handful of times and their frozen custard is always on point. On my last visit, I had a sundae instead of a cup. The Maui Wowie sundae came with a scoop of frozen custard, fresh banana, pineapple, coconut, whipped cream and a cherry. Very, very good though I did find myself wishing for a little pop of acidity somewhere. Maybe a tiny bit of lime with the pineapple?

If you don't know what to get, the best things they have are the brown bread or turtle sundaes. If you ask nicely, they'll make you their favorite thing. You can never go wrong with what the folks there like. So good!

Former Wisconsin resident so know a thing or two about frozen custard. Serious yum! First timer to G's. After reading reviews, tried chocolate dipped brown bread. Many other tempting options, too. Next time. Definitely recommend!

Love this place! Great frozen yogurt. Love that they have a few picnic tables outside to sit on. Brown bread and lemon are my favorites but everything I've tried has been really good.

A visit is a must each time I visit my hometown. The lemon custard is still exactly the same as it was YEARS ago. I love it so much I don't even know how to describe it. The texture is perfectly smooth, the taste is lemony without any tartness, and the double portion is just the right size for my perfect dessert. I wish wish wish I could eat at G's more than once every couple of years.

Creamy custard certified. I found G's on a random search for food whilst driving many miles. I am a terrible on the road eater and only eat random snacks of the white sugar processed nature so this was definitely an improvement and yet still up my alley. The place was kind of dead on a Friday afternoon. I managed to try the brown bread which is a popular choice. Definitely tastes like bread, which I wasn't a fan of particularly because I want my ice cream to taste like delicious varieties of ice cream. Still I love the creativity behind it. Really its just bread chunks in creamy custard. The red velvet cake + custard creation is delicious. I forgot what its called but its something strange comparative to its combination of red velvet cake and custard. The custard makes any combination amazing.
