Where do I begin? As an official barnyard pimp I am qualified to judge my experience at the "world famous" Chicken Annie's" here we go. Service is great. Wasn't terribly busy on Tuesday night. Prices are average. Sides are ok. Now about the bird. It's nothing to crow about. I was so excited to try this place only to be served up some crispy Swanson frozen chicken TV dinner. Typically 40 yrs ago that wasn't such a bad thing. This is mediocre at best on the fried bird meter. It's sad to think so many consider this great fried chicken. A good Chester's would shut this place down.

Deep fried chicken with German potato salad and slaw. People need to know that is oiland vvinegar base with garlic! Very good but they do offer other sides. Large piecesat a great price.

I have been eating at Chicken Annies since the 60's at one location or another. Pichler's has great Chicken and sides. The bread is typical of the area Delicious french local bakery bread. When I eat there it is always super busy so the chicken is piping burn your mouth hot. The german slaw and german potato salad is always what i order. Over the years at times it will be more or less vinegary but always good. The wait staff is composed of local college or high school kids so that changes a lot also. Always my go to place for a meal with friends and family or just if we are passing through south of town on our way to Branson etc.

I love Pichler's Chicken Annie's I do not go anywhere else for chicken in southeast Kansas.

The fried chicken here is the best in town. The seating is pretty cramped. The German potato salad and slaw are great. Fries are good and so are the mash potatoes even though they are instant. Creamy slaw and baked beans is good as well, but they tend to over cook their green beans. Everyone orders the onion rings here. They are thin and crispy and extremely delicious. Their pitchers of beer are under $6. The shrimp dinner is actually pretty good even though its frozen. I've been going here for forever and they have never served everything on styrofoam and use plastic forks. That must have been a different restaurant.

Stopped in on the way to Tulsa and ordered two wings and two thighs. Nothing special.

The chicken and sides are ALWAYS good and the decor feels like a grandma's old house that hasn't been redecorated since the 50s or 60s. I think the restaurant may actually be in a old house that's been modified into a restaurant. The only thing I really don't care for is how they serve everything on styrofoam plates and use disposable silverware. I think it's wasteful. Aside from that we drive to Pittsburg a couple times a year just to eat chicken here and have been doing so for as long as I can remember!

Much of our order was served cold. We told the server and she said she would take it and have them "warm it back up by re frying it". eeeeeeeeewwwwwwww

Love this place! There are many chicken places in the area and Chicken Annie's is the best. The food is very good; the chicken is HUGE and you will definitely have leftovers. The sides are good as well. The gravy for the mashed potatoes is very creamy and I don't know what they do to the green beans but they are the best I have ever had! The staff is very nice and professional.
