Moved to McPherson about two years ago from the San Francisco Bay Area, so I know a bit about Chinese food. This place is pretty good. The lemon chicken is a little less sweet than I prefer, but overall the food is delicious. The steamed rice is adequately sticky without being a gelatinous mess, and the entrees are well cooked and seasoned--not over salted like some places in town I could mention. This is your best be for Chinese in Mac

I am a Chinese food enthusiast. I have spent many meals in china and Taiwan, china town in NYC for dim sum, and enjoyed the best Chinese in hundreds of other locations around the US. Imperial garden is undoubtedly the best in McPherson, but as far as Chinese food goes I would describe imperials food as unsatisfying. All entrees are basically the same and any traces of authenticity have been erased entirely. If your favorite dish is general tso's chicken then this is the place for you. If you enjoy Chinese food then I'm so sorry, your out of luck.

One of the best crab rangoon I've ever had. Nothing special about the fried rice, tasted like white rice. Quality of entree was good, but will try a different one next time.

I'm from McPherson and I moved to Saint Paul a year ago and I have NEVER found a better Chinese restaurant than Imperial Garden! They have the BEST carb rangoon and General's Chicken on the planet! They have AMAZING prices and everyone is always so nice! The food is prepared right when you order it so it's always hot and fresh. If I could have them ship their food to me I would be in heaven! I'm drooling just typing this review!

Ugh. All of the entrees taste the same, but I like the pineapple chicken when they have it. Out of all the Chinese food restaurants in McPherson, this is one of them.

Throughout my life I had only thought that I knew what Chinese food was, but then came Imperial Garden and my illusions were shattered!! No place has ever delivered such an excellent version of General Tso's chicken that seemingly gets better every single time I have it! Every dish I have ever tried here has been superb, and the to-go portions are very large making it a great value for college students such as myself. If you have not tasted this goodness and you are anywhere remotely close to Mac, go there right now!! Seriously!! GO! ...and then wait for it to open tomorrow late morning and you will not be disappointed!

This is far from the best Asian food I've ever had, but it is heads and shoulders above the other two places in town. I love that you can watch it being made. Something about the other two places always made me think that I was going to get food poisoning. We like the Crab Rangoon, Almond Chicken and Princess Chicken. They are able to prepare the food really quickly too. Don't go here for atmosphere. Do go here for good food, great prices, and a fast meal.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
