I decided to eat here after my husband voiced over and over again that this place is better than Panera. I am a Panera patriot and I figured it must be really good if he made such big claims. I ordered a chipotle something or other and mashed potatoes with gravy. To drink I got the wild berry sweet tea. The sauce in the chipotle ciabatta sandwich did not taste like chipotle at all. It was a really good sandwich, but it didn't even have a hint of chipotle. The sauce was more sweet and tangy than it was spicy. The mashed potatoes arrived cold and with a ridiculous amount of salty gravy. Had I known I would've skipped the gravy. To top it all off, the sweet tea was way too sweet. I don't know what kind of syrup they use for the wild berry. I could only take three sips before I gave up on the drink. I have to note that the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very casual and calm. Was it better than Panera? Not even close. The prices were better, but the taste and quality of the food was not. In all honesty, it reminded me of school cafeteria food.

You go up to a counter and order, they give you a number and bring your food to you. I ordered the French dip with Mac n cheese and the French dip had cheese on it, which is not normal, but fine. The mac n cheese tasted like Kraft. I got a chocolate chip cookie after and that was pretty standard.

I'd actually give this 3.5 stars if I could. In short, when it is good it is very good. Alternatively, when it's not a good day for them it can be a bad experience. It is though the best place for iced tea and the sandwiches are generally freshly made. It is hands down better than subway, Mr Goodcents, and the closest thing to a true deli in this area.

I jumped in here at about 10:50. Not the fastest bit of service, but the lady working the front was courteous enough to me. I've never eaten here before and it seemed interesting. I ordered their mcallaster's club with tea and cole slaw. The "famous" tea was so-so at best, even a lemon wedge only helped "ish". The sandwich was fine, but the slaw was room temp and bland. All in all, decent in speed and service, maybe just have to try at a later time.

This is a great place for lunch. A lot of variety on the menu from sandwiches, salads, spuds. As well as a variety of sides. Food comes out pretty quick even when they are busy. If your really in a rid you can order online and have it ready for carry out. Cheese cake is freaking awesome.

We chose McAlister's for our 23rd anniversary dinner!! A young lady with the most beautiful light blue eyes took our order, and a young sandwich genius named Israel prepared our deli-ectable meal. I got the original club and it's loaded with meat. My wife got the grilled cheese which looked great - 4 cheeses I think!! (And thankfully my wife doesn't care for dill pickles so I got hers!!! ) We got it all to go in just a few minutes, drove to a nearby lake and had a great sunset meal! Just sad our son wasn't there to enjoy it with us! :-((

Pretty good. I usually order the Chicken and Dumplings and Mac and Cheese as sides. The sweet tea is fantastic and the punch cards are cool because you can earn free tea. The military discount is 10%, which brings the prices down to a normal range.

Awesome Ruben sandwich. Atmosphere was very nice and mellow. They have a wide selection of mouth watering sandwiches. Will definitely come back and try their club sandwich. Cole slaw was disappointing, unless you like the vinegar type.

Amazing! What a great place! I've never been here before. I've heard that they have the best Tea, although I am not a tea drinker. However, their sandwich was delicious and filling!!! I am a fan, for sure I will be back!!!!

Nice modern deli with great fresh food and excellent service. I placed my order online and the food was ready as soon as I arrived. Highly recommended.

I had their Spicy South West Chicken Griller sandwich, which was smaller than I expected, but delicious. Their "famous" McAlister's iced wasn't all that spectacular - just a step above lipton sweetened iced tea.

Decent sandwiches, not great but decent. For the price it isn't worth it. Sometimes the tea is really good but when it's not good it's really a bummer to spend that much.

This is a great McAlister's. When I first moved to Manhattan I went there for lunch. They were really crowded and it took forever to get my food. It was very frustrating. The manager came by and apologized and gave me a coupon for a free meal. Over all I love the atmosphere and menu. This is the best place I have found to get a baked potato in Manhattan. Now I go regularly and look forward to it.

How hard is it to salt a potato or to salt the water it cooks in? It must be very hard because McAlister's potatoes are the blandest potatoes I've ever had - and that was with chili and cheese. The only flavor was the jalapeno and I'm not big on spicy food. Speaking of chili - we ordered both a meat and veg chili potato and both were extremely lacking in chili. About half a cup on each monster spud. You'd save money and have a better meal at Wendy's.

I agree with Dee's previous review in that there is a wide variety of sandwiches, salads & soups. I got the build your own sandwich. The roasted turkey was extremely salty! It was like they put 2 tons of salt on it! I couldn't even taste the bread. The diced cucumbers were cute, but not for me. I like them sliced like at Jimmy John's. Fast service. But the price wasn't soo good. For about $6.00 you can get a near foot long sandwich. It looked like a half a sandwich to me. Very clean & nice ambience & decor. But, food flavor & taste trumps decor & ambience in my book.

Best tea anywhere. Can see why owners moved from Olathe to Manhattan. This place is hopping in Manhattan, never saw it that busy in Olathe, even during peak times.
