I recently ate here with my brother, who attends Kansas State, while visiting for the K-state Vs Texas Tech game. And I took him out to lunch we stopped in and both really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! We both got the Reuben sandwich and it was the best Reuben I have ever had! Very authentic and you get what you pay for, quality and authenticity. The atmosphere was cool also clean and like an old English pub I enjoyed it. The service was great and the owners take pride in their pub, walking around and conversing with their customers. They are very nice people was happy to eat there and will again when I return.

Warm greeting as we came in the door. Open seating. Great easy going music Very friendly staff! Loved the input and communication through out my meal!(checking in on us) New what was good if not ordering the special, and I let them choose! Reuben has real corn beef and probably the best Rueben I have ever had! Fish was battered well and it was buttery! Cornish pastry was great! Bangers and mash was not my favourite but hubby loved it. Shepard's pie was great too! And then there was the strongbow cider!

Solid spot right in Aggieville for a pint of the good stuff. Cold pints, check! Hot fried food, check! Booths for convo and a good bar for a shots and meeting folks. All around solid spot with a nice menu to go with cold drinks.

I was starving around 2 PM and started wandering around Aggieville in this beautiful weather. I had Keltic Star bookmarked as I tried to go here when Eric R. and Harold L. were visiting me 2 different weekends. However, I got busy unpacking from my move and never got over here. I was intrigued by the very British menu and set my sights on the pasty first. I have had a pasty once at Cornish Pasty Co. in Vegas. The atmosphere is very nice inside - purple accented bar stools, a red telephone booth inside, and a spacious area with lots of televisions. The bartender was very nice and we chatted throughout. I ordered the pasty which comes with a potato side. I got mash with brown onion gravy. The potatoes were not very hot but the pasty was, so I just ended up smearing the gravy-drenched mash on the pasty as I ate it, which was quite good. The pasty already was hearty with beef, carrot, potato, and rutabaga inside. I also got a side of brown onion gravy for dipping. The best part of the experience was the Irish/Celtic folk music blasting in the bar. For those who don't know, I played in an Irish folk band in college and really enjoy this music. The atmosphere cannot be beat! I look forward to returning, especially to try the curry and the lamb stew. Cheers!

Definitiely a place to visit in Manhattan KS. You feel as if you have stepped into the British Isles, the food fits, and you can even get odd things like chocolate covered bacon (ok, it's good once). Still, the beer is great, almost anything you pick on the menu tastes great (I've been here three times now), and you will leave feeling great.

Good place if your looking for something out of the ordinary. The fish and chips were great. Had the Scotch eggs and they were interesting but good. No complaints about the service. Had the St. Mary's and a Snakebite from the bar. The St. Mary is like a Bloody Mary but made with whiskey and Guinness.

Came in to watch Sunday night football. Bartender and staff were very friendly and poured the same in my glass of whiskey. I ate the bravehart burger with hand cut fries. Tasted pretty good for bar food and I look forward to trying their soups next time I come in. Atmosphere is very good and laid back I recommend this bar to everyone who is in Manhattan.

Absolutely love this place! James the bartender makes awesome drinks and is on top of his game! Love the owners and service is crazy fast and accurate! The Scottish eggs are to die for! Love the traditional food. A must go to in Manhattan! Pose for a pic with the real telly booth!

This place is awesome. The owner is from Wales, if I remember correctly, so the food is pretty authentic. When they first opened, they had a number of servers who were from England working there who said the fish and chips was the best they had had outside of home, so I believe them. My favorite was the bangers and mash. The curry is pretty good, but not spicy enough, IMO. They have Strongbow on tap and an awesome selection of Irish whiskey. They have smaller glasses and Imperial pints, which are (I think) 20 ounces. A little pricey, but totally worth it.

Great place to eat. My wife and I went out to Ft. Riley to visit some of my old Army buddies. As it was also our anniversary, we decided to have dinner up in Manhatten. I'm usually skeptical of places that have no bad, or even "just ok" reviews. But I now know why the Keltic Star is rated so high. Great food, even better atmosphere. Having never been to the UK, this is what I had imagined a pub to look like. The stone, the lighting, the wood floor, and even the massive (but well placed) "call box". We arrived at 7:30 on a Friday and immediately had a seat at the bar. We ordered the Sausage Rolls of an appetizer. Little cold, not bad like ewww cold, but I expected hot. Maybe a better way to say it is, I thought they would come out HOT and they came out warm. Still very delicious. But as we were warned, watch that mustard, it will surprise you if you aren't careful. But again, good food. Dinner was Shepherds Pie for myself and the special, Cod Po Boy, for my wife. I not a fan of sea food to start with and I also reminded my wife that this Kansas. 6000 miles from the nearest ocean, probably not the best place to order sea food. As she is so often to remind me, I was wrong. Her quote, "Say on there it was amazing and the Cod was very good and very fresh, with delicious coleslaw". I can't testify to the Cod, but the coleslaw was delicious. The Shepherd Pie was great as well. Lamb with veggies, potatoes, cheese, and soda bread. Can't go wrong. Good sized portion, had leftovers. No sugar on the bread, thought that odd, but was served with sugary butter that was awesome. It was a bit salty. Not terrible, but I did notice that I was quite thirsty after we left. After drinks, appetizer, dinner, and tip it was under $50. Not bad for a night out. Down sides; bartender had only semi epic beard. Come on, if you can grow it, show it. I know you check yelp reviews. And the left overs are NOT microwaveable. Killed the taste. Yes I ate it for breakfast, don't make fun of me. That's what my wife is for.

Had the cheese steak special. They serve it with pulled corned beef and jalapeños. DELICIOUS. Service is attentive but not intrusive. It is a great place to have a sandwich in Aggieville.

I've lived in Manhattan too many years for this to be my first time here. I have been missing out! Great food. Great service. It has the feel of an actual pub. I tried the fish and chips today. The last time I had fish and chips this good I was in England. .. in the 80's. I will definitely be back!

This is a quaint pub in the heart of Aggieville. What impressed me the most the first time I went there with friends was the originality of some of the appetizers, and the quality of the food. I highly recommend the scotch eggs and the chocolate-covered bacon. The Shepherds Pie is also very good! Being able to sit at a regular table when I brought my son over Thanksgiving weekend was awesome - I have a service dog. My first time there my group and I sat at a pub table; which was less comfortable and not a good place to sit with a service dog. The pub is fairly small, but the food is terrific and the wait staff are quite friendly. And, if you like craft brews; Keltic Star serves one of the Tallgrass Brewery ales (Tallgrass is a local brewery) which is very good!

Love this place! If I could change anything it would be to add to the menu. There was not a lot of selection, but what they do have is delicious! I got the fish cakes and my husband got the bobby burger- both came out great. Love the atmosphere and decor.

Best fish and chips in Manhattan, actually some of the best I've ever eaten. Nice grown-up croud for the center of Aggieville. Good British bottled beer selection. Local family owned and managed.

It's good to finally have a solid family owned business that meets all of the age groups in Manhattan. Keltic Star does an excellent job of authentically providing the "Pub" atmosphere without losing the appeal of Aggieville. Every item on the menu is made well and tastes great. Give this menu a solid run through as you will be pleasantly surprised at the selection. Don't be afraid to try the Shepherd's pie or the Pasty (past-E), as these are 2 favorites. The Reuben reminds you what Corned Beef is for, and the Braveheart will help you understand what a burger is meant to be. The selections on tap show a belief in authenticity but also give the "Bud" crowd their fill. Strongbow on tap, Red Hook ESB, Guinness give those with more needs a well rounded selection. The selection of Scotch and Whisky is the most extensive around. Spring for some of the higher end single malts it is worth ever penny. Never have I walked into a place before and said "This place looks like a pub from the old country" and been so pleased to find it to be 3D with the foods, fun, friends and festivities to meet that feeling. Keltic Star is already a shining gem in Aggieville and will continue to meet the needs of KState and the locals with expanding menu items. Thanks for bring the old world to Kansas.

Four generous stars for a place that I would like to love. Stopped in on a friday afternoon and the place was nearly empty. Perfect. Wife had a corned beef dip that was very cheesy and greasy. It tasted good, but was lacking corned beef in quantity. I had a lamb burger that was tasty. However, after adding cheese and grilled onion, I had a $15 burger that was worth about $8. The patty was very obviously pre-formed (frozen) and it was cooked well done. The flavors were good not great, the beer was delicious, and the music was entertaining. Our server was friendly and welcoming and we will be back. I hope they freshen up their ingredients, as this is a cool bar.

I have been to many pubs overseas. This pub is very authentic with great atmosphere. Not a family restaurant though, leave the kids at home. The service was quick and friendly. The draft Guinness was nice and cold served in a 20 oz pint. The food was very good and came out at a good temperature. I had the bangers and mash, the portions were more than enough to fill a grown man. A very good relaxed dining and drinking experience.

Food was amazing and came out piping hot. I ordered the fish and chips and it was a larger portion than I expected and was very happy. The beers on tap are extra cold which is what I love about little pubs like this. The atmosphere and music playing in the background makes for the experience. Staff is super friendly and I could see spending many nights here just hanging out enjoying cold beer and great friends! It's a must try!!!!

LOVE. this place. Food is amazing, drinks are phenomenal, and service is great. Love the vibe, I enjoyed the architecture. Had the shepard's pie(amazing) and the mounds bar chocolate and Malibu mixed drink, and the cider beer. All was very, very good. I hope they expand their menu. Oh, and their mint lamb sliders are also a must have. I'm so happy Manhattan finally has a restaurant that isn't Chinese, American, or mexican!
