Great service, nice wine selection, good food. Our server was very nice, though when we asked for a recommendation, she read half the menu! I guess she just likes everything. Lasagna and chicken Marsala was good. No appetizer needed, bread is good, with the oil and garlic.

Wonderful experience. I had the very best linguini and white clam sauce I have ever eaten. The salad was fresh and the wine good. All was reasonably priced. Unlike most linguini and white clam sauce where you have massive amounts of pasta and run out of clams early, here the clams are tender and abundant. The white sauce was rich and very tasty. My only complaint is living near KC I can't enjoy this meal more often.

I travel to Liberal on business several times a year and I always try to make a stop in at Ruffinos. I really like the atmosphere, and the food has always been exceptional. On top of the excellent service that I always while dining, I once left my credit card and did not realize until I was hours away from town. The staff person who helped me got it to me in the mail very quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great food overall. The staff is good. However...I met the owner...and he was a complete jerk to me. Totally changed my mind about this place. I changed it from a 5 to a 2 after I met him.

We ordered the ruffinos chicken which was very good and veal with mushroom and Alfredo sauce it was chewy and tasteless and had weird texture. Portions are generous. Service started good and went down hill as we our waitress disappeared after bringing the food. In fact eventually one if the other waiters brought us the check without even asking if we want dessert.

Went here on recommendation of our hotel clerk when we said we didn't want fast food. Situated in one of the old buildings along the railroad track, this turned out to be a very nice place to eat. Very busy & noisy at 7:30pm when we arrived, and almost didn't go in because felt underdressed. Seated immediately, and discovered most of the noise was coming from one large group - once they left, we had a very pleasant dinner. The wine list was not extensive, but was appropriate for the cuisine, offering a variety of Italian & domestic wines. Good crusty bread & seasoned olive oil were brought automatically, followed by a Caesar salad which was large enough to share. My wife ordered her comfort food - spaghetti with meatballs & meat sauce, which she said was as good as any. I had a chicken dish with a lemon, butter, wine sauce sautéed with artichokes & capers over spaghetti all of which was bordering on wonderful. No room for dessert this trip, but if I find myself in Liberal again, I mean to try!

Wow! I'm impressed!! I am trucker in town on m day off. I was looking for something better than the fast food and truck stop food truckers are generally stuck with! I had seen "Ruffino's" on Yelp, and while bobtailing around town, I saw it. It is located near the old train station, in the historic "Grier Eating House". The atmosphere is elegantly wonderful, the staff wonderfully elegant. I stopped by @ 2:30 pm to look at the menu, to see if i wanted to come here for dinner, decided I would, but then found out they had a lunch menu until 3:00. So I stayed for lunch! I was very pleased with my "lunch special": Lasagna (smaller lunch portion - which was just right), a salad, 3 delish' rolls, and a drink - all for $6.95!!! Everything is homemade, right down to the "house" Italian salad dressing, and excellent!!!! I cant wait to come back for dinner! (probably not tonight - I'm too full!!!) The "chain" Italian restaurants won't have a chance here, if they ever decide to try!

It was great, but I think it has closed. Too bad it was really good.

Staff was very friendly, and the pink sauce was amazing. Salads were ok, and the cannoli was pretty good (I'm actually a cannoli connoisseur... Shhh don't tell anyone).

Great place and good prices! Liberal is a small town and it's nice to find a good place to eat that doesn't involve greasy burgers and premade burritos. We went in time for the lunch special, it was a salad, bread and your choice of pasta(they have a list to choose from). I had the stuffed manicotti and we also ordered the lasagna. They were so cheesy and good, the sauce was perfect. We're very picky about our red sauce! LOVED the portions, they weren't bigger than your head sized, just big enough to fill you up but not make you miserable.

We were driving cross country, Trying to avoid fast food. Yelp is great for this! We were wandering about in Liberal Kansas. We actually couldn't find much we would be interested in on Yelp that night. Luckily stumbled onto Ruffinos. Great Italian, fresh ingredients, It wasn't even listed yet on Yelp, so here is something new, nice, yummy, friendly with ambiance!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
