Amazing food, so convenient. I loved the cauliflower chickpea curry salad. Atmosphere is light and airy, music is charming (Ella Fitzgerald!), service is relaxed and friendly. A pleasant place to eat, have coffee, and relax. My only gripe is that they don't have wifi, so it might not be a great place to have a meeting or get some work done during a break.

Great spot for lunch. Deans always has the best and hottest soup around. They have the freshest salad and great cheese and dessert selection. If you have not been there make sure to check it out.

Used to be a go-to spot for me but not so much any more with all of the good food choices now in KC/Leawood. I recommend changing out the menu more often, getting some new fresh recipes and accommodating those who are gluten free. The desserts are good and that would be the main reason I would go here. Improve the menu and I'll be coming more often!

What happened to this place? It used to be on our "must stop" list everytime we went to KC but last time it was horrible. I had high hopes because it seemed as if they had changed a few things around and added some interesting items to the lunch menu but everything we ordered was very disappointing. I want the old D&D back! Still have to give them at least two stars for the wonderful desserts and great selection of gourmet items.

Their curried chicken salad was awesome and I had a great sandwich on the olive bread. It's pricy but worth visiting on occasion for some great food.

the food are very fresh, but a lilttle over priced. i bought three small pieces of dessert and spent almost 17bucks.

I always love our visits to Dean & Deluca! We don't get here near enough since we are north of the river (that's a hint D&D!!). The spinach salad is so good! Everything that we have ever had is truly very good. Service is always so nice. My only complaint is that it's further away than I want it to be.

It's hard not to love this high-end $hop, despite the price tag of literally every single thing there. I've been out in this area a couple times lately and been here specifically for their magical salad bar. They have staff there to mix up your salad, and both times I've thought, "Hmm, that "medium" size looks perfect" only to have salad for dayz. The medium here ends up being an insanely large brick of salad, so if you're not coming off of a fast, go with the small. By the time you add chicken and whatnot to the medium it's also nearly $15 which is pretty high for a salad. Gotta admit, I love all their candy they have around too. They've got gummy everything - gummy peaches, gummy frogs, gummy sharks, gummy LOBSTERS. It's like a child's paradise. Or mine. They also have high end coffees, olive oils, and anything you'd expect to find in an artisanal market place. Pretty much everything there is worth trying if it's calling your name. Last but not least, they have a coffee bar in here. I tried their mango iced tea on a 100 degree day and it really hit the spot. Highly recommend choosing from one of their many awesome iced tea varieties if that's your thing.

Dean & Deluca is a gourmet playground. Granted, it isn't cheap, but the best things in life aren't given away! This location was the first one I ever went to many moons ago. I have also visited the St. Helena, CA location several times as well as the one in NYC. Dean & Deluca has it all - hard to find gourmet ingredients, wonderful chocolates and sweet treats, prepared foods, my favorite ito en Jasmine Green tea, sushi, made-to-order gourmet sandwiches and salads, Jeni's splendid ice cream at ridiculously high prices.... I have shopped D&D online because the store also carries Kyotofu Japanese sweets (from NYC), yuzu items, and other cool things solely online. Eric R. and I had custom sandwiches made here prior to flying out of MCI and the wonderful meal was perfect to unwrap on a long flight.

My son and I stopped here for a quick after camp snack and we were NOT disappointed. He had half an egg salad sandwich with jalapeños and I had the sashimi grade ahi tuna. We also picked up some Cinnabon inspired bread that was amazing! This is a great spot for a quick bite, espresso or specialized cooking supply. Yum!

Very unique specialty grocery store. You'll find a lot of interesting items you wouldn't expect to find other places. This trip, I tried the Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog and the Midnight Moon cheeses. Both are goat cheeses, the former creamy and luxurious and the latter smokey and sultry. An essential stop for any turophile. Next, the deli counter won't disappoint. They have everything from goat cheese and dill dip [$8 or $9/LB] to seared Ahi and Prime Rib [$35-$60/LB]. Don't miss the gourmet desserts counter. The root beer macaroons and 3 Women and an Oven German chocolate cake are divine. Also, the coffee bar is amazing as well. They have a lavender syrup, which sounds odd, but is delectable mixed with Mocha or Vanilla syrup in an iced or hot drink. This store will expand your culinary panache.

I would give the flourless chocolate cake a 5 star rating. It is the best dessert there is anywhere that is not carrot cake. Their carrot cake is also pretty good. A slice of cake is 5.25, not too bad considering what you'd pay at any other restaurant for a dessert not as good. I've also eaten here. Once I had a burger and sweet potato fries. Another time is was meatloaf and pasta salad. It's all overpriced and nothing but the cake is memorable. So when I'm in the area I stop for flourless chocolate cake but never anything else. Once I saw a big bag of cinnamon pita chips I just had to try but then I bought them without thinking about price. They turned out to be $7 and I opened the bag to find mostly air and read it to show 6 ounces of chips. oops. I should have known because I think everything here is overpriced. It was my mistake.

I'm only posting this review for one item at the Dean & Deluca in Leawood, and that's the Spicy Lobster Dip. This stuff will change your life. My mother-in-law brought it home to share one time I was visiting, and it's been a primary reason to visit the in laws ever since! :) I usually dip crackers or bread into the dip, or use it as a spread with a turkey sandwich or something. The possibilities are endless; get creative. The price is something ridiculous, but it's so worth it. Treat yourself and never look back.

Treat yo' self. Literally the most bougie-a$$ place. EVER. While places like Whole Foods are upscale and crunchy, D&D flirts between the lines of lavish and total excess. But! You're a hardworking individual who enjoys the finer things in life, so hey, treat yo' self! D&D has a smattering of deli foods, (delish) packaged salads, sandwiches, etc. They also have bomb make-to-order sandwich and salad lines. My guilty pleasure here is the $47/pound Chilean Sea Bass. $47 a pound you say?! Just shut up and try it, and then we can talk. The cookies at the coffee bar are also outrageously expensive but stupid good. D&D, ftw (but for your bank account's loss). Maybe it should be less of a "treat yo' self" place and more of a "please come treat me here, mom" place.

This is good place to waste time. They love when people like me ask for samples. Im their favorite kind of people. They have the Glace ice cream in case you cant make it across the street. Fancy cakes and pies, fancy sandwiches and deli stuffs, and coffees. I got a salted caramel christopher elbow something or another and it was super good. Ill buy my exotic foods elsewhere...but Ill stare at them whilst sipping fancy coffee here. oh and once i got a sandwich (catered to work by a rep) and it was like ham, apple and brie (rich people and their brie *so cute*) and it was an alright sandwich. the brownie was nothing special.

I've only seen the online store and even that was too much to handle. Great items to ship to family and friends for any occasion. My trip out to Kansas and I got to visit the brick and mortar D&D! This place is heaven on earth. So many goodies from cheeses, desserts, charcuterie stuff, spreads, lunch... the list goes on. The people are super helpful and everything is delicious. Make sure you try the baked goods from Three Women in an Oven, that's all!

A foodie's paradise! This place is such a great unique market for anyone looking for specialty items and unconventional cooking items. And their treats! Cant forget about their sugary dessert treats:) Love the prepared food section. You can get a sandwich or a salad made fresh to order as well. I'm a big fan of the turkey and Brie sandwich. I took of one star because it's a little Pricey. $10 sandwiches and $3.00 Bottle water. Not the best when you're on a budget but you get what you pay for.

If you're looking for a place for lunch I highly recommend getting here early to avoid the lunch rush. The salads and sandwiches are made to order. I usually get a salad when I stop by for lunch. All the ingredients are so fresh. You can order off the menu or make one up. Same with the sandwiches. I also recommend the pastries. They have cupcakes, cookies, brownies and small cakes too. I bet you won't be able to resist the temptations. Then there is the case of fine pieces of chocolate! Heavenly! I try to stop by here before my husband's birthday and stock him up with chocolates and possibly a small cake too. Hey, it's a birthday - splurge with the good stuff! Yes, it's pricey but you get great quality items for your home, cooking, whatnot. It's definitely a fun place to "window shop" for expensive items. I do find myself here grabbing a salad to go often in the summer. If you have the time, they have a lovely outside seating area.

Kind of behind on the times, but I;'d never been into D & D. I had no idea what it even had...which brings me to...you open the doors and today was sample day. Holy calorie hell! The store is loaded with specialty foods, Christopher Elbow Chocolates, 3 Women and an Oven items, cheeses, tea, coffee, bread, cookies...and guess what???NONE is cheap. You're getting what you pay for, even if you pay a bit more for it. So bring a card or plenty of cash. But you don't buy alot, save that for Trader Joe's. You ignor some of the stuck up crowd, (Yep, I ran into them also, as other reviewers mentioned), and you buy a couple of items. Snooty is the correct term...I would excuse myself in the crowded store, with my cart, very polite, to someone standing in the aisle, and people wouldn't move. Like, run over them right? I had been told about the dessert bar, but not the sandwiches and soup. I don't eat soup, I did eat a cake pop (seriously almond), and a champagne pink cupcake. I got to sample everything, sometimes 2-3 times. I found a couple of things not priced, several things over priced, (probably hand made like specialty breads), and over priced, but top of the the line tea. I didn't buy that much. But couldn't leave without CE chocolates. Oh for the life of me,why didn't I get an $8 caramel apple, or a chocolate chip salted caramel cookie? WHY??? I found the staff wonderful. I fell in love with the espresso coated cheese, desserts and candied pecans. This is a store full of artistic food.I loved the cleanliness, and the products. This is where food becomes either gifts, or not every day food, but epic artistic adventurous treats. I think the crowd could be avoided on like a Monday afternoon. This store is top of the tops. I wish it were closer to where I live.

My favorite place to eat when I'm in the area. Can't get enough of the salad bar. All fresh ingredients and it's only 8 for a veggie salad that I get to choose all the toppings. The caprese sandwich is great too as well as all their sandwiches. Best lunch place.

  • Dawn C.

My paycheck tells me this is a once in a while gourmet splurge, my tastes tell me this is how I want every single meal to be from this day forward. Exquisite high quality meats, breads, cheeses, pastries... any little thing your heart desires is available here. For a price. Lunch here will turn your day from drab to fabulous. My husband and I came for lunch recently, we each had a sandwich on fresh crunchy french baguettes ( I opted for brie & ham, and he chose an Italian meat combo) shared a small bag of dill pickle chips ( my favorite!!) and an ice cold cream soda from the cooler. Nearly $30 later we had our picnic lunch ready to enjoy. I didn't find the staff or other patrons to be "uppity" but the prices alone keep this place a little more on the "exclusive" side than I am usually comfortable with. So now and then I'll drop by and treat myself. I suggest you do the same!

You can't go wrong here wether you get soup or sandwich but their cupcakes are simply divine! Pink Champagne is a little bit of heaven 3 women and a oven are gifted for sure! We came at 2:30 so we were able to easily grab a table but it does get very busy so be prepared to wait

I spend a lot of time in Atchison, where the closest thing to a gourmet grocery store is Walmart. So when I tell my friends that I occasionally go to Dean & Deluca for certain food needs, I feel soooo cool. Then, when I walk in with my greasy hair pulled into a messy ponytail, no make-up, and gray sweats, I sense the noses of fellow customers turning up on me.... Nonetheless, I still go to Dean&Deluca when I'm looking for good quality ingredients for a special occasion dinner or even when I'm in the mood to just browse the various cheeses, breads, sauces, etc. The desserts are decadent and taste so good. The workers in the store are usually very nice and helpful and don't care how grubby I can look. I did, though, knock off one-star because even though they have a lot of cool food items I feel like they could have more variety in brands and lean toward the obscure brands of some items. Also, we aren't blown away by the baked goods in the to-go coffee section. However, I still really like Dean&Deluca and am sure to be here again soon (maybe even looking more presentable).

If Subway has sandwich artists, than Dean & Deluca have masters of the sandwich artistry. Before making each sandwich they should have to raise their knives in the air and declare, "by the power of Pastrami, I HAVE THE POWER!" Ok, I realize someone somewhere in a test kitchen decides what combinations and how much goes on each sandwich, but the individuals in the shops still have to slather just the right amount of condiments, sprinkle the perfect amount of salt and pepper, toss aside the weak looking tomato, etc. I am a sandwich lover and Dean & Deluca never disappoints, whether it is a preconceived sandwich or I build my own. Top of the line meats, cheeses and fresh produce make the perfect combinations. They have so much more than sandwiches though. Fresh salads of many varieties. Delicious soups. Fresh breads. Chocolates. Desserts. Spices. Cheese. Fresh sliced meats. Caviar. Just a whole lot of really good stuff. Personally I recommend spoiling yourself a little and trying the foie gras mouse pate.

I've been to this place several times and have tried a variety of items so I feel I have a pretty solid idea of the quality of their products. Here is a brief review of some of the items I've tried. Curry chicken salad sandwich: large sandwich but a bit bland in the flavor department. Also, like most D & items, a bit pricey. ..over $10. California sushi roll: BIG disappointment. The smallest sushi "bites" I've ever seen and they literally fell apart in my chopsticks. Annoying and expensive. Fine chocolates: I bought three tiny chocolates for my son to try and the total came to $6.50...about $4.50 more than they were worth, in my opinion. Good but not GREAT. Roast beef and smoked gouda sandwich: very tasty, very large and full of lots of yummy things (fresh tomatoes, onion marmalade, Bob lettuce ) and a mountain of meat. I could barely eat half since it was so big. Atmosphere: a little stuffy but I've never lingered there long enough to be bothered by it. A bit of a confusing layout until you've visited a few times. It's close to work so I plan to visit often and try some of their salads and other sandwiches.

Gosh I love this place! Everything from the coffee, sandwiches, salads, soup and candy. It's all fantastic. They also have really great pre made food. Make no mistake, this place isn't cheap but its totally worth it. Actually, my favorite thing is the sea salt chocolate chip cookies. I don't even want to think about how many calories are in one but they're pretty much the most awesome cookie I've ever had. I also really like it because it's open on Sundays. There are far too few good options for that are open on Sundays so that's when I normally find myself there. All in all, it's a 9 out of 10. About my only complaint is that I can't get away from there spending less than $10 for a meal but that's probably because everything is so good I get too much food.

  • Chandler C.

This place has everything you could ask for and more! Not only is their lunch/dinner selections great quality but there are so many options. The chicken pesto salad is by far one of their best kept secrets! The pastries and cakes are incredibly moist and delicious!! If you are ever needing some knowledge about cheese than this is the place to go! They have the widest variety and are more than willing to help you find what your looking for

    (5)
  • Antoinette H.

One word..GO! D & D is the perfect place for a quick grab and go lunch or stay if you like and sit outside on a nice day. The salads are fresh and so delightful.

And $500 dollars later...... Dean and Deluca is a dangerous place. I could easily drop $$$$ on gourmet food items without blinking - pastas, spreads, salads, juices, chocolates. Some may compare it to Heaven. If you're not looking to spend big bucks on the fancy grocery items, this is a great lunch place as well. You can get fresh deli sandwiches, soups, baked goods and even sushi. Really yummy sushi. And the atmosphere is great! It feels like a European market...always bustling with patrons...and so much of the experience is just taking in all the food! There is great eye candy can be found here...Christopher Elbow creations included. My only advice - if you do decide to visit for lunch during the week, be sure to get there early as there is limited seating and the tables fill up quickly! Bon appetite!

Coming from NY, this place was always a cluster during peak hours. There was really no such thing as running in and out because you were fighting hoards of people with the same exact thought. This D&D is like entering the Desperate Housewives of Leawood. The prices are pretty ridiculous if you aren't used to the bougieness that is Dean & Deluca (you could just go across the street to Whole Foods for pretty much the same thing), but it's probably the most gourmet grocery/deli you'll encounter here in KS. A pint of soup is nearly six bucks, and you'll more than likely feel like a blimp after; therefore, ask for half a pint, they're not stingy and it normally comes to around $4.

    (4)
  • Rob M.

Got in the mood to browse around D&D this afternoon and see what the latest goodies are. As usual, it's well-stocked with just about every desirable (but pricey) delicacy you could imagine! Need caviar or foie gras? Jamón serrano? Patés and charcuterie? Vinegars and condiments of every kind? Tiptree's "Little Scarlet"? Vegemite? This is the place! Had fun chatting with George and Rafa at the cheese counter -- they had some really good samples out (sorry, don't remember the names -- one is a semi-hard French cow cheese with complex flavors, the other a delicious domestic somewhat runny cheese a bit like Affinois). These guys are definitely enthusiastic about their wares -- feel free to ask them for samples of anything and for suggestions! It was late in the afternoon and I hadn't had lunch, so I ordered one of their sandwiches. The Cajun Chicken comes on ciabatta and is very generous (and reasonable, at $8.95). I ended up bringing half of it home! Bargains are few and far between here, but if you're looking for a particular hard-to-find specialty, D&D is the place you're likely to find it! And the occasional splurge is worth it!

Dean and Deluca is great. They have high end groceries and a wonderful bakery. This review is for the lunch area alone. I loved my club sandwich. The girl making the sandwich just kept piling on the meat - and damn right she should for a sandwich that costs more than $10. And I could tell that the quality on the ingredients warrented to the cost, but $10 without even a pickle is crazy expensive. My wife ordered the Tomato and Mozzarella sandwich but added Prosciutto as an add on on top. UNBELIEVABLE! This is the winner. More people should be ordering this. So overall, a good place for lunch, but fills up really quickly. If you don't mind spending more for higher quality ingredients, this is a great place to go.

  • Stephen H.

When you walk into D&D you're immediately confronted with chocolates on your left and a cheese counter directly ahead. It's not a place for those who love food and who don't want to spend a lot of money. That's a mutually exclusive proposition here. The best in bread, chocolate, cheese, charcuterie...with even a coffee bar. Come here to treat yourself, or to buy a nice food gift for someone you care about :-)

Upon rave recommendations from good friends in Kansas City, we opted to try Dean & Deluca for dinner on our way through Kansas City. It's a store that has a deli, bakery, and barista inside. Unique concept - well lit, well stocked, and had a feel of a New York style deli to us. After perusing the aisles of creative food items, we both ordered sandwiches from the less than friendly sandwich maker. He wasn't rude at all, just no smiles or friendly greeting, only 'what can I get you'. Strange for such a well setup place. No real hospitality. The Hubby ordered the tuna and I chose the turkey and brie on sourdough. His tuna was chock full of onions, so much so that he took it back and ordered something different - roast beef. In his words - it's better than the tuna, not bad. Mine was okay - it had an apricot mustard that overpowered everything else in the sandwich. After taking the sandwich apart and eating only the inside, it was... okay. I picked out a snickerdoodle cookie and hot tea for afterwards and they were both good. Everything was over priced and had a stuffy feel to the whole thing. Will we go back, even if someone else was paying? Probably not. Next!

I have to say I was a little disappointed in my salad today. I was really craving a salad from D&D. I hadn't been for a while. It was just okay. I think what really makes the salad great is normally the dressing. I think my salad maker forgot to stir it up this time, so it seemed a little oily and lacking in the great flavors are normally there. I think the guy may have been new, as he kept looking at the board to see what was in the spinach salad. All is all, just okay this time around. I will expect more next time.

  • Nicole B.

Oh Dean & Deluca....why must you be so expensive?! I absolutely love this place. They have different sections and your food is made to order. I usually stick with the sandwiches as I love their turkey and brie. I love anything with brie! During lunch, there is usually a long line so if you aren't in any rush to get back to the office, the food is worth it. I've had their Asian salad and I just thought there was way too much edamame. I am also in love with their cookies. Everything about this place is fantastic...well everything except the prices!

You must be at least 18 years old or older to enter this review. Please enter your birthday: __/__/____ Press "Enter" to continue. XXX Food PORN XXX Food PORN XXX Food PORN XXX Dean & Deluca is like a food museum where you're allowed to touch the art and even buy the art if you can afford it. The design of the elevated windows that cast blocks of sunlight creating dynamic shaped shadows is no accident. The cheese selection was small but compiled well to offer most cheese styles and regions (including imports). The cheese monger knew his cheeses very well and pointed out locally produced farmstead selections. A huge "SHAME ON YOU" for offering Foie Gras. There are videos online of how these geese suffer for "epicureans" but that's a debate not fit for Yelp. I spotted a few bottles of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce and thought "how did HE get invited here?". Good for you little rooster. If only I was a trust fund baby (you don't know how many times a day I say that), I would shop at Dean & Deluca everyday. It's as if you need to empty your savings account before you come and shop here. You get the point.......it's very expensive here at Dean & Deluca. But, it's also awesome, beautiful, gourmet, fantastic, dreamy and top notch! It's a gourmet grocer. They have a beautiful bakery department full of mouth watering desserts and treats. The deli and prepared food department is plentiful, fresh and delicious. The aisles are full of gourmet wonderment. The employees are nice, knowledgeable and professional. This Dean & Deluca's is one of those places that the atmosphere just feels right. It's open, clean, bright and feels just right. It feels upscale without feeling stuffy. It's very inviting and comfortable. Because I live in town, of course I wish there was a D&D closer than the burbs, but none the less happy that at least we have one in the KC area. So, save your money, drive to the burbs and enjoy all that Dean & Deluca's has to offer. It's a happy place.

On average, 3.5 stars. The shop is very nice. The supermarket has so many things that I cannot find in town. I give five stars for the supermarket part. I give the supermarket 5 stars. However, the dessert is much lower than I expected (I heard from my friend that the cake was so good in Dean & Deluca in the different branch). The chocolate cake and strawberry cake were too hard and not delicious. The tiramisu cake is just okay. Given their reputation, I can give only 2 stars for their dessert.

Food: Everything is fresh and delicious but I like to build my own sandwich. The cajun chicken is outstanding. The cookies are wonderful. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. I wish they had one of these in Los Angeles or Orange County. Decor: Very nice for a deli/market. Service: This is not a restaurant so there is no wait staff. However, the staff behind the counter are always friendly and courteous. Hint: There is limited seating so get there early.

I'm not giving 5 stars just because I've not tried the sandwich bar or the food bar; however, I know it would be amazing! The store is very pricey and I'm just a frequent browser and will buy one or two items. I consider myself a "foodie" (tho I hate that term) and just love what the store offers. the bakery is outstanding the service is always above and beyond. I absolutely covet most of the items in the store and always put it on my wishlist for birthday's and holidays to get gift cards!!

  • Jennifer C.

Expensive but worth it. It is difficult to walk in here and not want to buy everything in sight, but then you look at the price tag and put a few items back. I recommend getting the gourmet sandwiches and soup. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth like me, try Natasha'a macarons or Christopher Elbow chocolates. For macarons: get the Mint Chocolate or Strawberry flavor. For Christopher Elbow chocolates: Rosemary Caramel, Lavender Caramel, Fleur de Sel Caramel, Vanilla Bean Caramel (seeing a pattern). I have tried other flavors that were also very good like the Pear Riseling and Fig and Port Wine but I go back to the caramels every time.

Went here a few weeks back to get some snacks for the KU game. Picked up a mediterranean chicken salad. Ok, this had all the workings of a mediterranen salad; kalamata olives, red onions, artichoke hearts and a few other things, but, the chicken oh the chicken was not fresh by any means. You'd think a place like Dean and Deluca would have decent chicken like maybe cut in the store perhaps and added to the salad? But I was wrong. Also picked up some rolled up grape leaves which were nothing to rave about AT all. And the parmesean dusted fries were decent at best. I prefer admiring the cleanliness of that leawood Dean and Deluca. Never again.

Sure it is pricey but the food is worth it. My wife and I got two desserts and they were divine. But the panty and kitchen items do seem highly over priced... $200 for a spice rack? What? Really?

By section: Cheese / cold cuts - I love the selection of cheeses, particularly the goat cheese locally sourced from Olathe. The gentleman usually found behind the cheese counter during the day could not be more helpful, courteous, or knowledgable. He is always willing to open a package and provide a sample of any cheese in which you are interested. The cold cuts are on the high end, as you would expext, and priced accordingly. However is you are looking for genuine French ham or Spanish Serrano ham, you can find it here. Sandwich / Salad Bar - As other reviewers have professed, the sandwiches are expensive but I believe quite worth it. They are all exceptional, and anyone behind the counter would be happy to toast it, add more bacon, or anything else you want, usually for no upcharge. As far as the salad bar goes, I have seen a great decline in this area over the last 10 years. Salad is sold by the pound. Ordering a salad leaves you with a final product that varies with the weather. Two sizes are available, small & large. I usually get the same vegetarian salad and sometimes it has weighed as little as 0.6 pounds and sometimes as much as 1.5 pounds. Sometimes very dry, sometimes soaking wet with dressing. More consistency is needed at this station. Prepared Foods - I have never encountered anything sold in the prepared food section that I didn't like. Everything here is really wonderful. In particular, I like the individual turkey meat loaves, the poached shrimp, and the grilled asparagus. Bakery - Great crusty breads and really wonderful specialty breads (like kalamata olvie bread, artichoke bread, etc.). The desserts are all great I cannot say whether they are all made in the store or not, but I know some are for sure as I have discussed as much with the staff from that area. The tiramisu is excellent. I love the lemon bars. The pots de creme are also comforting and yummy. Coffee Bar - Good selection of coffee and teas, both cold & hot. They also have specialty Starbucks-like lattes and macchiatos. At ths counter they also serve a selection of cookies, bars, scones, etc. These baked goods are excellent. Coffee/Tea is available from open to close. You can get a frequent drinker card (if you ask). Buy 10 coffees and the 11th is free. Candy/Chocolate - Large number of candies in old fashioned style jars that you can buy by the pound. They also have handmade Christopher Elbow chocolates available. Grocery - Wide selection of sauces, pastas, syrups, spices, mixes, sugars, flours, oils, and vinegars. Not sure if most are better than anything you can get at the supermarket, but certainly the majority of brands sold here would not be found in most stores. One issue I don't like is that not all items have prices on them, so be careful.

You never forget your first love and the Kansas City outpost sold me. I had hoped it was as large as the food court at Harrod's but we can always dream can't we? Nevertheless, the KS outpost had a large selection of items to drool over esp. the chocolate station. I found a new chocolate lover and his name is Christopher Elbow. Thank you D&D for opening my eyes to what can ultimately be a lovely friendship. You're down the street from our KS office so I hope to visit you soon.

For a second, I thought the sign was missing a decimal point. $1800/lb Surely, surely, they had meant to write $18.00/lb, right? I stepped closer to the case, and then I realized. Woah. This was a case of white alba truffles. Egad. I watch my share of Food Network, dear reader, and I'm familiar with these famed fungi from Italy. But I suppose I'd never considered where to actually buy them. It seems the answer is here, at Dean & Deluca. If your risotto or pasta is needing that special something that only fresh truffle can provide, look no further. And this pretty much sets the tone here. Everything here is truly top-flight. We had some friends in from out of town, and we decided to make a nice dinner of beef Saltimbocca (flattened steak, filled with prosciutto, provolone and sage, rolled into pinwheels, seared then baked). We decided to splurge and get the good stuff at D&D. We sidled up to the deli counter and asked for some provolone. We were then presented with a handful of options, carefully and warmly explained by the most professional and courteous deli counter worker I've ever encountered. He carefully explained the subtle variations among the types of provolone that they offered, and gave us samples to try. We made our decision, and then asked for prosciutto. The same process of education, elucidation, and mastication ensued. With our prizes in hand, we explored the store for a bit, gawked and awed at the many delights contained therein, and left to construct our meal. It was positively fabulous. A couple months later, my wife and I decided to repeat the meal, with lesser ingredients from Whole Foods. We were positively shocked by how inferior the dish was. It was good, sure, but not anywhere near as balanced, complex, or flavorful as the original. Same steak. Same seasoning. Same sage. Same preparation. Same cook time. Different provolone and prosciutto. Doing the back-to-back comparison proved the old adage: you get what you pay for. At Dean & Deluca, you might pay a premium, but you get the best. Amazing product, impeccable service and a bright and cheery market-like atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out.

Excellent gem in Leawood. I was quite surprised to learn that the Kansas location is the only Dean & Deluca not near a coast. I come here often to buy confections as treats for my office. The chocolates and sweets alone take up the entire corner near the entrance. This is a wonderful place to go to buy edible gifts or to get higher quality meats or cheeses for special occasions.

I'm a ghetto gal. I was first brought here by a friend that wanted to be a chef at the time. She ordered a sandwich that I couldn't comprehend being any good but she loved it. That was about ten years ago. This upscale grocery place just confuses me. I brought my roomie thinking they might have some out of the usual foods she might find from back home. But it just confused her too. I did like the sampling and the bakery. I might visit again in another ten yrs. Got to start my saving account for the high prices.

Anyone who digs on the gourmet food knows about Dean and Deluca and I never realized there were any locations outside of NYC. Not sure how KC rates their own store, but I am not gonna look this gift horse in the mouth. So if you're hip to D&D, you know that their stores carry high end food products. This location also has a bakery, deli and coffee shop. Score. I'm all about impressing people with desserts, so I went to the bakery section to grab an assortment for a dinner party I attended. Of course, there were red velvet cupcakes to be had. I also picked up a few brownie lollipops, a few pieces of mini pink champagne cakes, a carrot cakelet, and the peanut butter cup cheesecake. Then I went to the deli for some cookies and we also ended up getting some gelato. The gelato was eaten on the spot and was a perfect way to cool down. The fresh strawberry with chocolate is excellent. I also enjoyed the peanut butter banana. Everyone at the dinner party could not wait to get into the desserts. We actually had dessert first. The red velvet cupcake was all me - the cake was perfectly moist and dense and the cream cheese frosting was thicky and creamy without being too sweet. I also had a few tastes of the cookies (all great) and a brownie on a stick. No complaints whatsoever. Before I left KC today, I ran in there to get some lunch for me and a co-worker. I ordered the Italian hero - a bunch of Italian deli meats with provolone on a baguette. They sprinkle balsamic vinegar and oil on the bread to add flavor. It was a huge sandwich and very tasty. The meats were high quality (or course) and the balsamic was a perfect foil to the saltiness of the meats. I know that most people would consider their prices unreasonable, but I have no problems paying for the quality of their products (whether or not I expense it or pay for it personally isn't a factor here.) Love love love D & D and will be back every time I'm in KC.

I never thought my first Dean and Deluca would be in Kansas City of all places. Oh well, one of life's surprises, I guess. Anyway, came here with some coworkers for lunch last week and LOVED it. They have some great lunch/quick meal options which include a salad bar, cold sandwich bar and hot sandwich/meal bar. I opted for a make your own sandwich with peppered turkey, roasted red pepper spread, dijon mustard, mozzarella on New York rye. Yumm! I had half there and the rest for dinner. It was great. I couldn't resist the dessert counter either. I got a fruit tart and a pistachio macaroon. The fruit tart was good, but not as good the following day. My recommendation is eat it as soon as possible. The macaroon was not very impressive and I certainly won't try another flavor at $2/piece.

It's always fun to walk though here and look at all the different types of gourmet and exotic food but I mainly come for the desserts. Sadly they don't have some choices they used to like the Banana Rum Cake, but the Flourless Chocolate Cake ($5) is delicious. Although it would be better slightly if it was more cake-y. It's almost like an entire slice of truffle filling, which is good but too rich to eat in a single sitting.

If pretentious had a house, this would be it. The food is seriously good. The prices are seriously high. The people are seriously stuck up. I still go, but I have to take a shower when I get home.

Well that was rather uneventful. For an $11 turkey chedder sandwich, I honestly expected better. Apparantly, I need to sample some more upscale/pretentious menu items or some of these so-called deserts I keep hearing about, so I'll give you a fair shot at redemption (some day) before passing final judgement. If I happen to spot Keri Russell (aka Felicity) behind the counter on my next go around perhaps an additional star could be arranged, but until then, enjoy your mediocre 3 star rating from me. I'll continue to sandwich (verb) at Adrian's Cafe down the street going forward.

It's probably for the best that the place doesn't have cots anywhere, because I'm fairly certain I'd set up camp. The people that work at Dean & Deluca in Leawood are incredible; the customer service is outstanding because folks actually enjoy their jobs and take pride in their store (or else they all fake it really well). This time around, I had an amazing americano and a cranberry orange muffin that was incredible. LOVED the big hunks of sugar on top and the orange zest baked in. Mmm. Zest. I'm very pro-zest. I'm very pro Dean & Deluca, too. If they had a cheer squad, I'd be the mascot, decked out in the giant buffalo head on their wall. It's that level of love, people. Go visit them immediately.

Top 5 Favorites at Dean and Deluca (all ridiculously overpriced, but in taste alone, well worth the sacrifice): 1. Mac and Cheese, seriously good. 2. Rugelach, so chewy, so cinnamony 3. Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie. Oh. My. God. Might I add, it is perfect for fall. 4. Sea Salt Caramel 5. Mint Malt Balls My sister and I became obsessed with this place when we stumbled upon its catalog a few years ago...and then the best day of our lives: actually finding a D&D in our city. Although neither of us can afford to eat here as often as we like, they offer samples of almost anything, so you can decide how much (no matter how small a portion) you want - which is the most cost effective way of going about it. Its also a great place to try new foods without the commitment of ordering it from a high end restaurant and running the risk of hating it altogether. Sampling is my best friend! I love the market-feel of it, like its all been imported yesterday from France and everyone is there to pick up something unique, grazing the counters and enjoying the sights and smells of the different foods. I LOVE food...and Dean and Deluca is where I first declared it! Food is an art here, and as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the stomach.

Anytime I am back in KC I find myself going out of my way to pay Dean & Deluca a visit. Oh how I wish they had one in Chicago! They have an amazing selection of spices, oils, pastas, sugars and other baking supplies. I had the most amazing creme brule and pumpkin bread from their bakery case! They make beautiful cakes (that look a little better than they taste, but I won't hold a star for that). Oh and I was super happy to find Fran's Grey Salt Chocolate Caramels there too!

Expensive specialty gourmet store. Awesome place for foodies. They have pastries, fresh meats, sandwiches, and a coffee shop. If you need prosciutto this is the place to go. A large selection of cheese as well. I enjoy sitting outside on the sidewalk or patio in the summer enjoying a beverage and watching the people.

Yesterday I went out to the Leawood/Town Center area to spend some of my gift certificates from the holidays. I was hungry and in the back of my mind I was craving something of great quality but not too expensive, and I knew there were many places like that in the area. So I went to Dean & Deluca to get a Cheeseburger and some Truffle Fries. In past visits (probably at least a year ago), everything about my meal was AMAZING. It was like going to a fast food Blanc Burger. However, on this visit by myself, I was stunned when there was no seating at all. I actually had to go out of my way to tell the chef at the "Burger Bar" to go ahead and make mine togo, because I had no where to sit. They had a 4 top table where just one Johnson County Soccer Mom had to take up the entire table to drink her locally crafted Soda Vie and text on her iPhone that her rich husband paid for. I was PISSED. Not only that, but when I checked out, the woman at the register opened my Sprecher's Root Beer Bottle without even asking... Which REALLY pissed me off. Now I was forced to drink my root beer, and couldn't enjoy it with my meal when I got home. So at this point I left with my meal and my opened root beer. By the time I got home (Ward Parkway area), my meal was lukewarm. The fries did not remind me of the Truffle Fries I had a long time ago. As a matter of fact, I am almost positive the cook just made regular fries. I paid 15 dollars + tax for all of this!! Are you kidding me??? And what REAAAALLY had me heated was the terrible attitude the old lady at the register had with me. Whatever happened to smiling and wishing the customer a nice day. And not being upset with the customer. I will not be making a visit back here. Dean & Deluca has become very good at pissing off people that aren't soccer mom's. I feel bad for all the hard working Husbands who's money is being eaten up by Dean & Deluca when their wives are spending their day's at this cheap ass place. Excuse me, I meant elegant place.

Overpriced but very good food. I recommend D & D for a good sandwich or salad or to pick up some amazing balsalmic. They also make a pretty amazing cup of coffee. I wouldn't go there with a long list because it is definitely pricey but if you are just wanting one or two high quality cooking items, then D&D is your spot.

This place is pretentious and nobody looks happy. The bathroom was dirty. Seems to me that because of the too high prices, people just want to be seen here. There is no genuine feel to this place.

Fantastic salads-better than The Mixx, ingredient, or (obviously) Sweet Tomatoes. Salmon, dried cherries, walnuts, no extra charge for avocado (although they do charge by weight) = delicious, affordable lunch. I get the salads to go here about every other week. Sometimes I add sushi, which comes with a free cup of miso soup at lunch, or the delicious Three Women and an Oven cupcakes. If you haven't had their Pink Champagne cupcake, you are seriously missing out. On Friday, I decided to try something different. My Reuben was $11.50; add a side of grilled veggies and my total was over $20. The Reuben was good, but the veggies tasted like they were microwaved and I mostly got grilled onions instead of squash. I'm not opposed to paying $20 for a nice lunch, but I consider Dean & Deluca an upscale deli and specialty store. For a $20 lunch, I expect to be in a restaurant where I don't have to wipe crumbs off the one open table by the coffee bar and find my own plastic silverware. Maybe Friday was just an off day..I bought another one of my favorite sweet treats, the Rice Krispie treats they have on a stand near the salad line, and it tasted overly chewy and old. They might be discontinuing them because they usually have 6-10 flavors - peanut butter, raspberry creme, s'mores, etc., but Friday they only had coconut and sprinkles. At least I still got my sugar high. And crash. Still hold a soft spot in my heart for Dean & Deluca. Next time you go, remember to wander to their 'ready-made" section and ask for a sample of smoked salmon dip. Then try not to buy it.

While I was in town for a week, I visited here. All I can say is delish. I had a salad, loved all the fresh ingredients, my friend goes here regularly for their dessert. Next time I am town from California it's a must. I wish they had them in Northern California.

I went here for the first time today and got great service. Immediately when I walked in the door, one of the employees greeted me, even though she wasn't working the candy counter, where I was browsing. She offered to get another employee and in the meantime, she stayed and chatted until she had a customer of her own. Both employees I dealt with were super friendly and helpful. Definitely made the first-time experience a good one.

Loooooooove it! If Whole Foods is my wife, then this place would be my mistress. Love how all the guys decked out in their sexy chef attire are dying to please you with their fresh culinary creations. My favorite things to buy here are vinegar's, olive oil, cheese and those killer brownies. They also carry hard to find 00 flour. If you make your own pasta, you know what I am talking about. I cannot wait until they open in the new lager space by Crate and Barrel...Feed me chocolate covered strawberries on a ultra suede C&B couch...

Dean & Deluca is my happy place, anytime I have a reason to stop by I typically take it. I decided it was time to review my favorite place. As of late they made some changes which I do believe has benefited them significantly. They added a hot food section which has some pretty great selections to choose from (we all know how much kansas city enjoys gourmet burgers). There are so many options when dining here; Salads, sandwiches, sushi, coffee, deserts, etc... My favorite's are the desert and coffee, I don't think there has ever been a time that I have ever been disappointed when I have made a selection of the two. The entire staff that works there is professional, helpful, and nice. Another huge plus it is very clean as well, that is a pretty big factor into wether I will eat somewhere. This is absolutely a place to stop by if ever out south, or even worth making a trip to just go to the Dean.

This is my favorite lunch and dessert place in the Leawood area. I highly recommend their salads. They are sold by weight and are a great deal for the high quality ingredients that are included. I absolutely love the spinach salad that has goat cheese, pine nuts and balsamic dressing. The baked goods are to die for as well! I particularly love the cupcakes that are made by 3 Women and an Oven. The Peanut Butter one makes my mouth water just thinking about it and the pink champagne...they have a true champagne flavor!...cakes and cupcakes would be wonderful for a baby or wedding shower

Rockefeller Center, I am putting you to SHAME. Leawood has you beat up, knocked out, keeled over. For as many times as I have been here, I can't believe I am only reviewing you now. I WISH, I PRAY Columbus can get one of these someday, somehow. Maybe we should open one. Seriously. Who's in? Not that expensive to build. To operate . . . meh . . . what's a couple dozen top notch chefs and apprentices cost these days? The selection is UNSURPASSED here. I find things that I think I would struggle to even find on the internet. Whats-more, they keep turning inventory and getting new things in. They have some of the best tinned hot chocolate EVER. They have Mariages Freres. Dang. Who else carries that - the last time I met you was at Printemps Haussmann? The deli, the espresso bar - no one can touch it. Amazing. The pastries . . . well, I'm too picky there, but most of you would not know the difference. Pity they are nodding to the local choco garbage from Christopher Elbow - if you want good chocolate, go to Andre's across the street. If I lived in KC, I would live here. Amen. P.S. To the haters on this place, get out of the Midwest for more than a second so you actually see the value of what's on offer here. This is not meant as an insult, you really have the blinders on, notice how cultured out-of-towners know, but the local cowpokes just don't get it. Fleeced. Too much bahbahcue. Yeah, and food does taste good elsewhere, even cheap food, but the point is, what kind of garbage is in that cheap sandwich elsewhere? How many nitrates you want to ingest so you get that colon cancer? So it's about more than taste, you see. Expand those little horizons please. Follow my palate, open your mind, and you will discover a whole new world. You see, the Wolf knows.

What do I do when I find myself in Kansas City (Overland Park) for the first time, for work? Find the only Dean & DeLuca between the da east coast and da west coast! Not that easy to find in the far far SE corner of the Town Center Plaza (an upscale shopping center, but still not as nice as some). Not that big, but apparently they're moving to a new larger location just across the street early in 2009. Well, they've got the fancy packaged goods, cheese & deli counter, compact but wide selection of pastries/cupcakes, upscale chocolate, prepared foods, made to order salad and sandwich bar, sushi, cafe and gelato, and more. So they pack a lot of upscale gourmandary in a smallish space (hey, maybe I made up a word?). High prices??? Check! Cupcakes are $4.25, Odwalla drink $4.50. However, there are some deals I spotted, less than or no more than Whole Paycheck: sushi prices, hot grilled chicken and sides by the pound, reasonable sandwiches. Look carefully. So, do I need to check out the famous KC BBQ? Sure. But I'm a former New Yorker - I gots to make my pilgrimage to the D&D, one of the few that can really one-up the Goliath WFM, vying for yuppie cash.

My wife and I hit this place during a road trip. Thank you baby jesus for putting this place in the middle of our journey. You saved our lives with quality goods. This is possibly one of the best grocery stores I have ever been in. The food is great and the service was excellent. They have one of these in Saint Helena that I will be hitting soon. Cool place.

My first experience and familiarity with Dean & Deluca came from episodes of Felicity (rocking show by the way) and the Today show. Visions of New York danced in my head and I was a fan for life without ever being to NYC or to D&D. D&D has always been this iconic place to me that represented this romantic space with an organic and local flavor. D&D is no doubt great with their products and abundances of culinary delights. The location does seem packed with Country-Clubbers simply because it's cool to be seen there on the weekends. I digress. . . This D&D store isn't so much a coffee shop as it is a kitchen store and market, having a great assortment of kitchenware and ingredients that would please any gourmet enthusiast. All of it being gorgeous and expensive but classy as ever. It's a treat to go there and spend money on great stuff.

  • Joel S.

Yeah, I don't like the pretentious atmosphere (their wall decor consists of photos of ridiculously good-looking white people, for crying out loud) and my Honda Civic looked trashy next to the BMWs and Acuras in the parking lot. I ended up there b/c my boss eats lunch there sometimes so I popped in for a gift certificate as a Christmas present. I decided to get a mocha while there and I have to admit - it was damn good. So I'll give them a little bump for that.

Pros: Great selection of cheese. The cinnamon and chocolate babka is incredible, moist n soft n very flavorful. The French fool epi cheese is like a baby Swiss but much finer. Cons: Fresh salad bar is just average, soups are a bit too salty though. But for a quick lunch is not bad. Watch out for the fries at the grill bar, many times are soft and warm instead of crispy hot fries.

I dont know whether to love you, Kansas, or hate you for having a Dean & Deluca. I would give my left hand for accessability to this store in Chicago. That said, the selection was a bit lacking here vs NYC but a gorgeous store nonetheless. Do you folks know how good you have it there?

Having been in the specialty food industry for years in SF, Dean and Deluca has always been mentioned as this mecca for gourmet at it's best. I've drooled over catalogs, clicked my way through their website, but never entered a store...until I moved to Kansas, go figure. I was almost giddy upon entering, this was like going to Disneyworld! Except... wait, is this it? It was tiny! I mean, less than 400 square feet of retail. Sure, they had all their bases covered with the prepared food--deli, hot food, cafe, desserts, but the rest? Bor-ing! I proceeded to where I was most comfortable, the chocolate selection. Man, was I disappointed. Next to Michel Cluizel, they sold Ghiradelli? Whaa? You can find Ghiradelli at any Walgreens, it shouldn't be at Dean and Deluca. So then I went to the truffle case and saw some favorites (Knipshildt) next to some not so favorites (William Dean, who actually stole Christopher Elbow's recipes from when he apprenticed under him...hopefully karma will catch up to him). Except, they were selling Knipschildt's Quail eggs, which are made seasonally for Easter, and um, it's almost Thanksgiving...(I really hope they're fresh). Okay, besides chocolate, their cheese selection was outrageous (in a good way!). Offering ANY type of gourmet cheese, with awesome descriptions of each, Dean and Deluca has hit it on the head with their selection. You also have to love their olive oil selection and baking extracts. They are opening a larger store across the street for cooking and baking supplies, which should be exciting (did I mention I love cooking and baking supplies too?). It wasn't the store I thought it would be, a bit disappointed in their selection, but I'm glad I'm close to one regardless. Now I know it's just another store, nothing to get too excited about but reliable in finding those hard to get ingredients so I can make my own extraordinary food.

If you want to try some of the ice cream from Glacé Artisan, Dean and Deluca has pints of different flavors available in their freezer. Price tag is $7.50 (if I remember correctly) a pint. Got to try the goat cheese w/honey and it was divine.

One thing I dislike more than moving away from Portland is corporate chains. I try to buy and support local businesses in all shopping aspects. That being said with the word try, I LOVE Dean and Deluca. They have wonderful salads, sandwiches, and prepared foods. I could eat here everyday. Everything is fresh and made with quality ingredients.

I hear this is "the place to be seen" on Saturday mornings. That's not really my thing though. There are plenty of great things to say about this posh grocery/deli/bakery. But whatever you do, don't miss out on the freshly-prepared sandwiches. The meats are wonderful. The bacon is to die for. I'm a big fan of adding avocado. And they even have sliced brie, which is fantastic on a mile-high sandwich, custom-made to your specifications. There are lots of different spreads (beyond mustard and mayo), too... Sandwiches run about 7.50. You can end up with a bill twice that if you buy their gourmet chips and over-priced beverages. If money is no object, you should check out their baked goods and take a stroll around the store for exotic foods that you won't find at your local Price Chopper or Hen House. One last thing... The service is excellent! Enjoy!!

When I found out there was a Dean&Deluca near my home in Grandview, I almost fell out of my seat. How could this be possible? My fond memories of passing the elegant logo in Soho during my days of living in NYC came rushing back. I had to try it--and though it doesn't have the atmosphere of the one in Soho (obviously); that doesn't effect the food, which was just as good. Love their custom salads with all the fresh and interesting ingredients: edamame, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, capers...Their sushi was pretty decently priced for the area, but I haven't tried it yet. Though I love the salads, I would say that my favorite item in the store are their dried strawberries; sold in adorable glass jars right near the entrance. At 20 dollars/lb, they're not the most economical snack, but they are so darn good! They also sell many other yummy treats that I fell in love with in NYC, if you're willing to shell out for them--Mast Brothers chocolate, for example. And one treat you'll DEFINITELY want to avoid missing is their pink champagne cupcake. Take it from an LA girl--its even better than Sprinkles. Moist and with a subtle hint of champagne, it's dusted with a beautiful sprinkling of edible glitter and would make the perfect small gift for a girlfriend's birthday. Look like my love for Dean& Deluca can continue to flourish until I move back in the fall to NYC and the Soho location!

Calling all Foodies: I love this place! I took two newbies here for lunch and they both loved the experience! Think they were a bit intimidated as to how to order - soup line, salad line, hot line, ordering the prepared food and asking to warm it up, samples but once they got it, they were requesting samples and praising the ruben, the soup, fresh fruit and more! The manager Brandon makes everyone feel welcomed! Great place to pick up dips for a party, dinner on a busy evening, fabulous desserts but understand they don't really make any of them but have some wonderful sources, they have the best olive oil selections and such unique gifts and specialty items. I am a huge fan!

I used to come here when I wanted a special cheese experience and D&D still offers some of the best. My new favorite is a soft Brie type of goat cheese made locally at Landeria Farm. It was some really great cheese! I definitely recommend this place for those hungry for something a cut above. Ask for a sample and savor the goodness!

Dean & Deluca is a good place for foodies to shop. I'm not a foodie, but I am a fan for good desert. This place has them! While this location is not as cool or urban as the ones in DC (Georgetown) or New York (SOHO, ect) it's still great that the KC area got one at all. They have a nice selection of deserts and prepared foods as well as an espresso bar an other groceries. This location is pretty small, but I guess they are moving to a bigger one soon. How about setting up shop in KCMO?...on the Plaza or something...they they would get 5 stars! haha

Dean and Deluca is located in Town Center Plaza on the corner of 119th and Roe. This gourmet grocer and deli is one of the best lunch places in southern Johnson County. If you're going to go for lunch make sure you do it right, walk in and go around the grocery store part first. Walk around, pretending to look at all the delicious shelved items while stuffing your face with the amazing array of free samples located on every corner of every isle. This venture will take you past the bakery, the meat/seafood counter and finally the prepared hot and cold counter. If you still have room in your stomach you can choose between several sandwiches or made to order salads, if you're full- you can leave. I recommend sticking around and giving the D&D club a try; it is huge and delicious- if you are a normal human it should last you about 4 days. If you are a giant or a professional athlete, it should fill you up. Dean and Deluca also offers a choice of fresh sushi, soups, pizza, and gelato AND cookies! They really have it all, you could go for weeks in a row and get something different and good every time.
