I've only eaten at Homer's once, though I had always wanted to since I moved to the area back in 2005. My hubby is a vegetarian, so our choices are usually pretty limited. However, it was just my son and me one day, so I decided to eat there. I got a burger and fries, while my son enjoyed chicken steps and fries. We shared a strawberry milkshake. My son was around two at the time, so he just munched away and played with a car while he ate. This gave me a chance to read up on the history of the place, which is supplied at each table, while I ate. It has a really neat history, a great atmosphere and the staff were wonderful, even when my son decided to have a temper tantrum out of nowhere. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and I don't remember being appalled by the prices. I just wish that I had thought to check for any good vegetarian options, so that I could talk my hubby into taking us there.

I really love this place - the quality of food is impressive and the staff is awesome. I've had their hamburgers, onion rings, traditional malts and family style diners (21 piece shrimp is the best)...it's all been really good. All the food has a very home-cooked and delicious flavor. I also commend the cook - he definitely has some skills. He always seems to cook the food perfectly, regardless of the size of the order. The table wait staff are very friendly and do a great job at balancing the busy times so you never wait very long. Homers has been in the area since the 1930's ... And I hope it be here for many years to come.

So I came here due to my fellow elite leaving reviews that were good, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a chocolate sundae and my husband ordered the cheeseburger and fries and a shake (I forget the flavor). As a wife the first thing I went after was his food lol. The fries were good and the shake was a bit too icy for me. Wasn't creamy at all, sorry wouldn't order that at all. I tried to order my chicken sandwich protein style, when brought to the table some pieces were missing, or it doesn't come with it. I had to ask for tomatoes and onions, basically toppings. The chicken itself was really good and had some flavor I would come back for. My chocolate sundae was very messy but I loved every minute of it. Wasn't anything spectacular like you would find at a Ghirardelli shop, but it served its purpose. The second time I was going to come here to try the cheeseburger the doors were locked but the sign said open. I then went to Wendy's and drove pass and seen people walking into the place! I was a bit upset but I'll try again one day. Its usually not crowded at all. Nice place to get some homemade food and a place to chat at.

When you want to step back in time and enjoy really good diner food. They never disappoint.

I really only go for Pie and ice cream. I have not explored the menu much beyond that. But really what is wrong with pie and ice cream??? Service is always good.

Hmm. Food tasted good but I'm still looking for the meat on my hamburger. Haha. Too expensive for what you get. Staff is friendly.

I'm sad. This isn't the Homers of my childhood. It was the Monday night place to go with my parents until we moved when I was in 6th grade. I remember it fondly. The hamburgers were excellent and the fries were cooked through. Today, I had the hamburger with everything (lettuce, tomato, mustard, pickle, onion, mayo) and onion rings. HB had the double hamburger (everything minus mayo) and fries. The onion rings were the highlight of the meal. They were cooked just right - the ratio of batter vs. onion was perfect. Thankfully he ordered the double or he would have been searching for the patty like I was with my single. The fries were undercooked and underseasoned. After we were finished the table was covered in salt from the numerous attempts to season the fries. The service was fine. There seemed to be only one waitress for the restaurant while the other was the car-hop. Yes, you can still drive up and either pick up your to-go order or order from the car-hop. Our waitress was nice and efficient. I feel bad giving it a low star rating because Homer's held such a soft spot in my hamburger lovin' heart but.....it's just ok not awesome.

The tables are small and the Diner smelled like smoke. My chocolate milkshake was vanilla ice cream with just a hint of chocolate, but still good. My cheeseburger on the other hand made the whole experience worth it!

A true classic. This place has been around forever. The burgers and shakes are awesome. My only complaint would be the smoking indoors. that sometimes makes it difficult to eat.

My mother's favorite hamburger joint. She grew up just down the street in the 40's. Not a bad hamburger.

Great little diner. Been around forever. A bit of a hole in the wall but has great burgers!

Ok food. I could see the place getting extra votes for the nostalgia factor.

Was craving diner type burgers so we tried out this place (this was a few months ago). The service was pretty good as the server was very nice and attentive. However, the food was just ok. In my opinion, the burger (I ordered the bacon burger) was small and tasted like something I can get at Wendy's. Onion rings were tasty and crunchy but paid $3.49 for four pieces. My wife ordered the hot turkey sandwich. She said the turkey tasted like thick cold cuts and the gravy rated like it came from a jar. Bottom line: good service, ok food.

Homer's Drive Inn has been around for many years. I think that over time, the quality of the food has decreased, but the prices have increased. It's a fun place to stop and show people who are new to the area, as it is very unique and has a bit of history, but I rarely go otherwise. If the prices were lower I think I would go more often.

Absolutely delcicious, can't go wrong here. Vanilla malt, double cheeseburger and fries were everything I could have hoped and more. Amazing. Classic.

What a great little place. I didn't have high hopes for this joint since it's located in Leavenworth, which is not really known for their great food. I ordered a grilled chicken salad which tasted great! It was made with all fresh ingredients. The grilled chicken was lightly seasoned with some kind of sauce, it was so good & flavorful. I will definitely order this again. My husband ordered a country fried steak sandwich, I had a bite & I think it was the best fried steak sandwich I've ever tasted. It was juicy, moist & fresh! I sure did not expect such good food from a little place like this. The food makes up for the poor decor. Give it a try if your in the area, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Yuuuuuuuummmmmmmm! Get the Classic 1/2lb so you can enjoy the tasty seasoned grill in the meat patty's. Trust me. Don't waste your taste buds on the smaller ones. Splurge on the onion rings or fries covered in gravy... Yes gravy... This is not diet friendly it comfort food! Mmm Need it to go? Stop right in front of the door and a sweet lady will come out to take your order! Top 3 burgers in leavenworth in my book!

Amazing greasy spoon style food. I got the double cheeseburger and it was one of the best put together burgers I have had the luxury of shoving into my mouth. Also the onion rings were on point. Service was good without being over the top and fake. Overall a great classic diner experience.

Pretty good bacon cheeseburgers. A little less filling then i would like, but overall a good flavor. They use lighter buns, but I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the burger.

Any time I am in Leavenworth I enjoy riding to this place before or after a long ride. I always get the Homer's Classic with everything on it, onion rings (which you can smell when you arrive), and a chocolate malt. Homer's is one of my favorites in Leavenworth.

"Homer's classic" (I think that's what it's called) is a great burger. It's super juicy and flavorful. Reasonable pricing. Service was pretty slow and they didn't check up on the customer very often. (this may have been due to it being lunch time) Definitely a new favorite place to grab a burger.

Homer's that last piece of Americana relic that hasn't been wiped out by Applebee's and Walmart and other symptoms of national crass commercialism. Of course you need to find it in a town like Leavenworth, where time seems to have stood still. The place makes me feel I've stepped into a time machine and gone back to 1950s USA, when not everybody always had a therapist and people hated one another less. There are double and single booths, and they no doubt have to be red leathered. Tables are lacquered. So that's good. Homer's gets the thumbs up for nostalgia evocation. The food is what you'd expect in a greasy spoon. Oily, basic, nothing gourmet but just fine. The fries were good to me, maybe I like them unsalted. I had the double burger both times I went there for lunch, it was average, not appalling but I've had better in BK. There's also milkshakes, floats, sodas, typical diner fare. The coffee was always good every time. Unless there's a menu I don't know about, there isn't really anything for breakfast. For the prices they charge, I don't know what the complaint is about. I've paid more for worse meals.

It's a greasy spoon. Sometimes you just want to eat at a place that has seen it all... With people passing through day in and day out. Homer's has the basics. It's not a "diner" by my NJ/PA definition... But it has burgers and milkshakes, plus more. The food was fine and fast. It's a good choice for when you want something quick and don't feel like cooking. There is not much excitement from the staff- and strangely, I don't expect there to be at this place. It's old, but that's ok by me.
