While I can't quite get my head around WHY this place exists, I'm sure glad it does. I question how much demand there is for an artisanal soda store, but so long as they're paying the rent, more power to them. This place is cool and I'm glad it's there. I was in Lawrence for meetings, but also wanted to explore the city. It was a hot day and I was stuck in big-boy clothes (ie long pants and not my typical business jorts), and I needed a refreshment. Since I still had meetings and a drive back to KC, I figured a beer was out of the question. Instead, I went to Mass Street Soda and got myself a root beer! People will tell you this place has a lot of variety. That won't prepare you for the awesomeness of their selection. Arranged in flavors, it's difficult nonetheless to make a selection. How do I pick the perfect root beer from their inventory of approximately 8 million? Ultimately I gave up, asked for a recommendation and sat down at the bar. While typically they can flash-chill your soda in a matter of minutes, they actually had this variety in a cooler. The friendly store-keep swapped me out for a cold one and I sat down and chatted him up. He was quite knowledgeable about what they served and Lawrence in general. So yeah, if you're craving some sort of small-batch or regional soda, this place has you covered. Definitely worth a visit.

My partner and I stopped in here for the first time on Saturday night and were totally blown away by the selection. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and they have more sodas than I could ever imagine. I'm totally in love with Frostie's rootbeer, which was recommended to me by another customer. They also have the capability to chill any soda in under 2 minutes and will make an ice cream float right there at their soda counter. Can't wait to go back!

Very cool shop! I was a little disappointed that it wasn't an old-timey soda shop with a soda jerk in a paper hat and all that, but you can only ask for so much in a modern shop. There are (I think) literally hundreds of different sodas in MSS, and all of them are worth a try. Many of them are imported from other countries and have a really nice, distinct flavor. There's an Australian root beer that I tried from there that was quite tasty (I hear it's pretty polarizing, though, so sip with caution!), and they also sell Fentiman's. One interesting thing about this shop is that the sodas are not organized by brand, but instead by flavor. So Souix City root beer and Souix City cream soda aren't nearby one another, but Stewart's root beer for example will be right next to it. It's a great way to organize, really! Definitely worth a visit, especially since you can grab a case of all different sodas for about $12. However, there's no minimum purchase, so you can just walk in and buy a single bottle if you feel like it.

I don't really drink soda, but I still love this place. I think I just love that it exists. I had no idea that hipsters and grape pop could mix. Throw in some ice cream to pour your grape pop over, and you have a perfectly cute afternoon outing.

Mass Street Soda is a perfect mix of a throwback idea, a soda shop, blended with a modern twist. I'll admit it up front, I don't drink soda. I mean, I probably have less than one a year - My non-beer related beverages are water and black coffee.. pretty boring. I'm certainly not going to be the best judge of a soda, but that can't stop me from loving this idea and enjoying popping in here from time to time. They have every single damn soda you could ever imagine! They range from old school classics like Dr. Pepper in a glass bottle, a million root beers, cream sodas, all the classics. Then you venture over to a corner and find beef jerky and other wild flavors. When I was in they were doing root beer samples that were fantastic. The bottles are arranged like you'd find wine in a liquor store, by style and region, and even the staff picks...makes me think of that Seinfeld when Elaine falls for the kid based on his movie picks matching up with her tastes. In the unlikely instance that you don't find what you're looking for just tell the crew behind the bar and they'll likely find a way to get it for you. Very nice staff and a good energy throughout, and I've heard that they're going to be opening a second location near The Legends in KC before too long.

We love this place! The staff is awesome, the selection is incredible and the prices are great. We love to pick out a 12 pack as a fun and different gift option. We recently went to a similar type of store on vacation and my daughter said it was, "no Mass Street Soda!" Lawrence is lucky to have such a great store!

The variety of drinks was startling and a tad overwhelming! By some magic(a shaking ice contraption from what I could tell) my beverage of choice was chilled in 5 mins. The floats? I never wanted to leave! This was a successful little jaunt in Lawrence.

You can now get anything as an ice cream float for an extra $1!!! (for 1 scoop, $1.75 for 2 scoops) GAME CHANGER.

Mass Street Soda is a magical wonderland with wall-to-wall soda from all over the U.S. and a few other countries. Imagine a liquor store but with soda. This place is that! If you think all root beers taste the same, Mass Street Soda will prove you wrong. Same thing with cola, cream soda, and anything else you can imagine. I always try new things there and 95% of the time I'm happy with my choice. (It's not their fault if I chose a soda I didn't like!) Every soda has a flat price of $2, save for a select few. You can get discounts if you get more. The staff can chill your sodas and make them into floats. It's a cool little place and I always see people in there. I'm so happy this place is doing well! They deserve all the business they get and more. This place inspired me to collect soda bottle caps--one day I'll have enough to make a coffee table top. I hear they're aiming to do the same to their little bar area. Staff is super neat and knowledgable (however way you can be knowledgeable about soda!!) and they have a shelf reserved for their recommendations. Go in and at least take a look--it's hard to leave empty-handed.

This place has an extensive collection of sodas. In particular I love the selection of various ginger beers, and of course they have my favorite: Cheerwine! The staff is very knowledgable and cool, and they'll always chill a bottle of whatever flavor that tickles your fancy. A good friend and I spent part of an afternoon at this place drinking sodas, chatting with the staff and watching animal videos on their tv. It was pretty rad.

So happy to see this specialty store in Lawrence! They have a vast amount of sodas that are organized quite well so the offerings aren't too overwhelming. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful! Definitely a place to stop in while downtown.

Thousands of varieties of soda from all over the world can be found here! I had a great time with my friends looking at exotic flavors (lemon nutmug soda? Neato!) and the bottle art. They have a pre-chilled selection in a fridge, or a machine to chill any soda you choose. The sodas are $2 a bottle currently, and they have cute stamped cardboard cases for purchases of multiple sodas. It's a really great store and perfect for Mass. street. I'll definitely be heading back!

So much fun! I love this place. It's one-of-a-kind. The young man working there during my visit was incredibly friendly and helpful. We opted to sit at their little bar to sip one of our sodas and he offered multiple times to chill it for us - apparently they can make any soda cold within a minute or two, but I did not take him up on that offer. Their selection is amazing, and the prices are very reasonable. I was very impressed and can't wait to visit again. Great place to take people from out of town. Don't miss it, though - it's about a block south of most of the other places I frequent on Mass, but it's worth the walk!

I love this place! It's cool and there's something for everyone. They chill your drink and are very friendly. You can try weird stuff (mango chili???) or go for old favorites (root beer!)

This place is fantastic! Went last week with my family. They've been before, my first visit. There are hundreds of flavors from colas and root beers, fruit flavors and bizarre flavors. There's even a gross flavor section. Most sodas are made with real sugar and limited artificial enhancements. Any bottle can be instantly chilled or turned into a float. I can't wait to go back and get another six-pack.

I don't usually drink soda, but when I do it's at Mass Street Soda. I recommend the Sprecher sodas in the fridge.

Cute, cute, cute! We had a Peachee float, and a Sasparilla float. Yum! Small bar to sit at and have a float, very bare bones, atmosphere is a bit warehouse --- but every soda you could imagine and many more. I really wished there would have been some samples to try. Brought a 6pk home.

What can I say? It's a great little shop. I'm trying something new every time I stop in. The selection is AMAZING. I believe there's well over 1000 varieties but not sure. Sodas that are extremely hard to find and throwbacks that remind everyone of their childhood. So many tasty drinks! That's why I love to mix and match a six pack. The way the grouping is set up makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for...and a couple dozen similar sodas to try. And now there's an app that will tell you what's in stock!

This place is awesome it had the soda I was actually looking for. The stock that they have is great. Plus they have unique flavors to. Every time I go to Lawrence I look forward to going to this place. This place is definitely a five star.
