Stopped here on the way through from Grandview, WA to settle in Gainesville, Fl. Food was just okay, but the owner was very nice. Her daughter was a student a UCLA, but she could never go out there because she was the only one running the restaurant. I think our daughter's food was undercooked. She didn't feel good until we got to Florida.

I saw this small town during a road trip I was taking. Me and my friends were craving some Chinese food and this quaint place caught our eye. I must say, it was a great find! The Chinese food was inexpensive and reminded me of my parent's home cooking. The service was also very hospitable and if I ever visit this town again, I'll make this a routine pit stop.

Overall this place is so, so. The egg drop soup tastes old and had a slick of grease on it. We were seated for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence...and we were the only ones there. The general tsos chicken was VERY sweet. I think the biggest thing this place has going against it is the staff. Our waitress seemed incredibly rushed and inpatient. She made no eye contact whatsoever and made us feel rushed when making our choice. I probably wouldn't go back here.

Product is great. Service is perfunctory.

Food and service are great. Kim is incredibly friendly, and the food serves up fast. Enjoy some Egg Drop Soup while you wait, and leave a generous tip - the meal is cheap for what you get! Sesame Chicken from here can't be beat.

Eaten here a number of times, I like Chinese so I come back. Food is okay or just above okay. Meals are pretty cheap. Can't expect too much in the middle of nowhere Kansas.

We decided to try this place instead of the normal fast food while traveling through, Service was good but the food was mediocre at best. I had the Mongolian beef that was spicy but not flavorful and my wife had the sesame chicken which tasted overly fried and was over soaked in sauce. It was not worth the time it took to drive into Goodland or wait for the food.

Driving through Kansas and decided to make a pit stop in this little town called Goodland!!! Well first off it is kind of hard to find, but luckily through the advice of the front desk girl I found my way to downtown Goodland, Kansas. FYI If you're leaving from lets say the Wal Mart area, you're going to make a left TOWARDS the city itself. Then you're going to drive over a big hill where you're going to start seeing some street signs. You can make a right at any of the streets and you'll get there. I followed the girl's advice and took the last one and got to see exactly what Goodland, KS is made of. Not a lot but hey! it has a Wizard of Oz feel *hint hint*. The restaurant is located right in the middle of Main Street. FOOD: (Sorry, no pictures yet I have been uber busy) I went during lunch time and BOY WAS IT CHEAP!! OMG. I got like I got my uber favorite Tangerine chicken (orange chicken..whatever) and it was just about 5-6 bucks INCLUDING TAX and this ENORMOUS entree came with a bowl of your choice egg drop soup or hot and sour soup! I choose hot and sour and it was pretty tasty for Americanized Chinese Food. There were chunks of yummy tofu and chicken floating around in the sea of corn, carrots and bamboo shoots. Then came my food! It was a huge plate with egg fried rice, an egg roll and then my orange chicken with a nice fresh side of broccoli. (You know...like so healthy looking it made you THINK you were being healthy?) The sauce was thick and sweet, kinda typical I say of Chinese sauces but the chicken was SO GOOD. It wasn't like a typical over corn starched ball of chicken. The breading was light and really crispy. and the chicken was soooooo GOOOD. ^_^ omg I LOVED IT! maybe I was starving for chinese food, but mmm it was soo good! I looked across the other tables and another popular entrée seemed to be sesame chicken. it had specs of sesame all over it and it I heard customers raving how it has the right amount of kick. They used the same perfect crunchy chicken as my tangerine chicken too. Bonus part was the really nice manger I assume. Her name is Kim and she is such a doll, although her English may not be that great but she's absolutely fun to be around. You definitely get the aurora that the regulars love her and she is kind of like the Asian mom of the area. You know the one that notices if you have lost weight, or you need to eat more food ^_^ Overall it was a good experience for me..considering that I was a half starved Asian by then. ^_^ pictures will be coming soon!! OH YEAH: don't be afraid if the customers stare at you as you walk in!! they're just angry that you found their secret ^_~

I know this place is literally in the middle of nowhere, so my expectations should be calibrated accordingly. But even by "middle of nowhere" standards this is a bad chinese restaurant. The food is bland and the selection is poor. If you happen to find yourself in Goodland for some reason, avoid this place.

I had the sweet & sour chicken because it was recommended. I could tell it was made fresh because it was crispy and not at all soggy, but the sauce was bland. My husband had the Garlic Chicken which had a nice flavor and was the perfect level of spicy (not too hot, but leaves a nice heat in the mouth). The soups (which come with the meal) were broth-based but really thick, making us think maybe they come from a bag or can. :o/

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
