Best Fried Chicken in town! Every time we're in the mood for a great chicken dinner we go to L&T's. The service ribs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which are good. But the fried chicken is what you go for! My husband likes the coleslaw, but I always get the mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. As a previous reviewer said you do have to salt your green beans, but better no salt when they get to the table then so salty you can't eat them.
Oh my! I had read about their fried checken. I had the 3 piece meal with 2 sides and a bisquit. 2 thighs and 1 leg. This has to be the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. Coating was crispy and flavorful; chicken was moist inside. Fried okra was really good; potato salad was above average. Be prepared to wait after you order. Nothing is prepared in advance to sit under a warming light. They fry the chicken after it is ordered. And I think the okra was fried after I ordered. The staff is super friendly. Overall a great experience!
The fried chicken is always fresh and love the biscuits. The staff makes you feel welcomed. The prices are good so i would recommend if you are traveling through. Definately prefer eating here than the fast foods off interstate.

This review is for a delivery, we did not dine in. In my opinion, the service was speedy, but they charged a heck of a lot for a large pizza with a hand tossed crust and they didn't offer us any plates, cheese, or peppers. It must be because it's a small town.

Great food and good service. We were driving back home to Colorado and decided to stop in for a bite. Ordered the NY strip steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I had the vegetable of the day as a side (broccoli) and that was so tender and delicious as well. If I am ever back over this way, I'll definitely stop in!
Based on the Yelp reviews, my husband & I went here for dinner. Also I read the description from the owner. My bad: I thought "served fresh daily" meant serve fresh food. Almost nothing seemed fresh; rather, most seemed out of bags (dry dusty croutons), refrigerator bags (salad with random piece of overly large radicchio), and frozen bags (uniform shaped corn on cob, and oddly crusted salmon). Husband's rib dish was mediocre. On the positive side staff was upbeat & attentive; our waiter had a dry sense if humor. If I'm ever in Goidland, again, I'd will not spend $19.99 per dish for this chain restaurant quality food.
In a town where there are very few choices, Shiraz was a welcome find. Although the service was rather slow for us, the food was excellent. I ordered the club sandwich, and was expecting the typical sandwich cut in four quarters with triple decker bread. It was nothing like that. It was on a delicious bread roll, and stuffed with tasty thick cheeses, meat, and crisp bacon. It was lovely. The fries were shoestring and excellent.

We stumbled upon this place on our drive from the East Coast to Colorado. We always love "random" finds and this was a great one. The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. I asked and they said that they have been open for less than a year. But if you are looking for some good food that isn't a chain or fast food, go here.
Good Mexican in a small town. Fast service and fresh food. Stays open until 10 on Saturday and Sunday. Good amount of alcohol choices.
So after debating if we should stop and eat here or wait until we got to Denver, we decided to stop after reading the great reviews. The place is cute, staff is quiet but friendly. The food, on the other hand, was unimpressive. The beef, greasy, taco-bell-like, and ground (I assume when ordering at a Mexican restaurant that ordering beef means shredded not ground beef). I ordered the Enchiladas Locas, and it was fine for $8...but I would much rather have paid double for something good. We came here because we were wanting something really good, and left disappointed. Despite there only being 3 tables seated (including ours), we waited so long for our check that my husband just got up and paid at the host stand (though maybe we were supposed to pay up there, it was hard to tell).

El Reynaldo’s Real Mexican Food

Reviews:
Consistently awesome breakfast burritos. Delicious salsa Not much for atmosphere, but the food totally makes up for it :)
Reynaldo's is a pretty solid joint; they are consistent and use good ingredients considering the fact that they are literally in the middle of nowhere. The breakfast burrito (which they serve all day) can be life-changing - it's probably the best I have had in my copious travels across North America. The salsa they have in the squirt bottles is pretty delicious, and you can tell that it is home-made. If you are passing through the high plains on your way to Denver, I'd recommend stopping by this place.
Fast food TV-dinner Mexican food. My wife is a huge fan of Mexican food and she couldn't even eat it. Salsa tasted like ketchup with a little BBQ sauce and a dash of store bought picante. Tortilla chips seemed like store bought chips which were refried in the restaurant, so greasy and hard you couldn't chew them. Tamale tasted like salt buried in canned enchilada sauce. Enchiladas tasted like the tamales. Burrito had no flavor at all. Mostly no heat chopped peppers and cooked tomatoes. The stringy meat had zero seasoning and tasted like it had been boiled. The refried beans looked and tasted EXACTLY like the canned refried beans you buy at Walmart. Overpriced, terrible food in a run down old fast food restaurant.

Stopped here on the way through from Grandview, WA to settle in Gainesville, Fl. Food was just okay, but the owner was very nice. Her daughter was a student a UCLA, but she could never go out there because she was the only one running the restaurant. I think our daughter's food was undercooked. She didn't feel good until we got to Florida.
I saw this small town during a road trip I was taking. Me and my friends were craving some Chinese food and this quaint place caught our eye. I must say, it was a great find! The Chinese food was inexpensive and reminded me of my parent's home cooking. The service was also very hospitable and if I ever visit this town again, I'll make this a routine pit stop.
Overall this place is so, so. The egg drop soup tastes old and had a slick of grease on it. We were seated for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence...and we were the only ones there. The general tsos chicken was VERY sweet. I think the biggest thing this place has going against it is the staff. Our waitress seemed incredibly rushed and inpatient. She made no eye contact whatsoever and made us feel rushed when making our choice. I probably wouldn't go back here.

Buddy’s Barbecue

Reviews:
We stayed overnight in Goodland. Thought we would give Buddy's BBQ a try as there is there not too much else to choose from downtown since the Walmart has taken most of the business close to the interstate. Buddy's is in a nice older location, with hardwood floors. Interior gets a four with brick walls, high tin ceiling. Service was OK. Salad came with dressing in a plastic container. Potato had been sitting for a while. Ribs were very good and even with a half rack, we could not come close to finishing them. Two big screen. This is not gourmet but a nice spot in a town hit hard by economic times.

Gambino’s Pizza

402 E 17th St
Goodland, 67735
Reviews:
There is not much to choose from in this small frontier town. We took a chance eating here and was extremely disappointed. Food quality left a lot to be desired and service was non existent. Salad bar items looked as if were days old.
We ended up at Gambino's due to the lack of options in town. The pizza was mediocre: the white sauce was overbearing, mushrooms were canned, and crust was similar to a hard, white cracker. Skip this place, travelers.
Gambino's isn't my favorite, but I understand the appeal. Very clean place with great atmosphere and clean, friendly and local staff. The salad bar is fantastic, but the buffet leaves some to be desired. I've been in there before while the place was packed and there were only 3 pizzas out. They never brought anything else out, so that was frustrating. I'm not really a fan out the crust that is as thin as a saltine, or the cheaply done toppings that I could go buy myself at Wal*Mart. However, their calzones are quite delicious, and they do have a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Sauerkraut and banana peppers? Enough to keep me coming back every once in a while.

Taco Johns

2304 Commerce Rd
Goodland, 67735
Reviews:
Taco Johns exemplies what is exactly wrong in our fast food nation. Processed food is chemically produced to taste good. However, some food is just so bad that even the chemicals seem to be sub par. So why on earth would I stop here to begin with? Well after long hours of driving from Denver, rest stops here have very limited options. Our choices were either taco johns, sonic, and McDonald's. So we decided to give taco John's a try since we don't have any in houston. We ordered wings and a beef burrito. While the burrito was ok, everything else was just bad. If you had to make choice, stick to McDonald's.
The most amazing thing about this place is that it is still open for business. The food is only slightly better than frozen. The fountain drinks are also horrible. The only positive comment is they were open later than Sonic.
Stopped off on my way to Denver. Had some tacos and nachos. Manager very nice and helpful. Giving options on motel choices that were on my route. Very hospitable.

Dairy Queen

2402 Commerce Rd
Goodland, 67735
Reviews:
We stopped at Dairy Queen in Goodland on the way home. The experience was terrible. We ordered our food, paid and then waited for the food. The employees and other random people were wandering in and out of the kitchen carrying personal drinks and food. One of them was carrying a baby too. The last straw was when the cook came out of the kitchen, used the restroom without washing his hands and went back into the kitchen. We left without taking our food. My next call is to the state health department. Do not go to this Dairy Queen!
Horrible food and service!! I would keep going or try the new sonic with inside dinning across the street. What a disappointment from DQ.
Overworked, understaffed, and under paid. The lady was slamming our blizzards on the counter, the kitchen looked like a mess, and the place looks extremely rundown. I just don't know what else to say. I can understand her frustration at being the only visible employee there trying to do like 3 jobs but it was insane. I feel bad for them but even worse for the customers. The lady there was also rather grumpy about the number of blizzards we bought. Making a statement in front of us "I'm surprised they didn't just come in." In an extremely sardonic tone. I really don't recommend this DQ.
