Ahi tuna wontons, Asian wings, and artichoke dip! Yum! I only go to this location because I believe it to be the best! It is however a chain, but a chain that represents the local community is ok by me. You know what to expect and the service is always friendly and super fast. The location specifically is great! Fairway is a beautiful part of town right off the plaza and you can go into little shops near the shopping center for browsing or (my favorite) enjoying Russel Stover's too. Houlihans has a great menu for business lunches or just a quick fix that isn't something you would regret eating later. I work near the plaza so this is definitely a go to for something I always crave (wings) that I can get in and out and never be dissappointed. and who doesnt love free chocolate chip cookies when you're done with lunch??

I would have to say Houlihans is one of my all time favorite restaurants to dine at; the fairway location is the closest to my house. I decided to stop in for dinner. Tonight must of been one those odd nights. The restaurant was not crazy busy at 8:25 pm. I thought I would stop in real quick before I had to go to bed for work. This visit got off to a rough start. I waited at least 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me to take my drink order. I don't usually ever have this issue. I went to the host stand and asked to be reseated. They sat me in Destiny's section where I was taken good care of. Management stopped by to apologize for my previous wait. The food was delicious and hot. They made up for that little speed bump quickly.

We go for dinner every couple of weeks. I always get the same meal: 4 oz filet. It comes with 2 sides and salad. Most places you have to pay extra for the salad. And, it's a great salad. It's a favorite because the prices and food are very good. I think it's around $15 for my steak dinner. They have happy hour apps for $4, but I can't remember the hours. Service is hit or miss. They seem to have high staff turnover. And the apple pie is the best I've ever had!! I think this chain started in KC. I remember Tom Houlihan's on the plaza years ago. It is headquartered here in case you prefer local restaurants (which we typically do).

I had the buffalo chicken and blue cheese salad with edamame. It was very delicious and was ready in less than 20 minutes from the time I ordered. The edamame was very hot and the dipping sauce was excellent also.

Food was good & our waiter was very friendly. The host even held the door open for us! I would suggest coming around 4-5 for dinner, as it gets crowed by 6-7. Thai chilies wings are a must & their loaded potatoe. I'm satisfied.

Houlihan's has only disappointed me once. In all my years of coming here I was once completely ignored and after waiting a good 15 minutes for some kind of acknowledgement from a server, I left. I sent the manager an email about the odd experience, and they quickly made it right- apologizing profusely and offering me a complimentary meal when I returned. It's also worth noting that I have never again seen the hostess that seated me that day. Clearly, Houlihan's listens to their customers and takes pride in their staff and makes appropriate staffing decisions when necessary. So... That's the long story of why my review is 4 stars instead of 5, because otherwise this place is definitely 5 star worthy. The food is always delicious. The menu has lots of different choices of food, prices, and sizes. The Brentwood Chicken sandwich is a standout, as is their veggie burger (also available as a slider,) the hummus appetizer, the French onion soup (I love that they serve it the traditional way with all the gooey cheese dripping off the bowl,) and the Tuscan salad. They also make great flatbread pizzas. Each entree comes with your choice of side, and there are so many different choices- from the traditional (fries & mashed potatoes, which btw are my daughters fave mashed potatoes in the universe,) to unexpected (brown rice with pineapple and chips & salsa) to healthier options (fruit and steamed veggies.) The kids meal comes with a fun drawing page and crayons, and kids get goldfish crackers and carrots with ranch dipping sauce on the house. Love that! Don't skip dessert, either. The cappuccino cake is amaaaaazing (and I'm not typically a cake fan.) They have daily specials, and a wonderful wine and cocktail list. The wine and martini flights are really fun and a great way to sample lots of different flavors. Houlihan's is a KC treasure.

Houlihans thinks it's fancier than it is. Mostly everything is overthought with underwhelming results. Mexican egg rolls? Whhy? The only thing memorable is how odd the menu items are and how many of them don't work.

To be fair, I knew going in that this place was going to be some fancy spin on bar appetizers and I was correct. They took bagged chicken wings and tried to put their spin on buffalo. It didn't work. Parm fry happy hour special for $3.95. You realize you can buy 10 lbs of potatoes for $1.50 so taking 15 fries and adding powder parm cheese doesn't make it a happy hour steal. Finally, don't waste your time on the $5.00 long islands as its a fruit juice on ice with a splash of booze.

Three hours after eating grilled chicken at this location my stomach began to burn. Two days of food poisoning later and the doctor said it's salmonella. I eat extremely clean so I know for a fact it was the houlihans that made me sick. I will not be returning.

Love this place, great environment, food, and great promos for birthdays. Wish you guys had more of a variety of Martinis other than excellent.

A definite 3 star "a-ok" stop for lunch. I was seated and greeted promptly. I'm not sure if the two waitresses were sharing tables or helping each other out but one took my order and the other rang me up. Both ladies were friendly and efficient. I ordered the Heartland Chicken Salad minus croutons and dressing on the side. I ended up with a salad, missing the dressing on the side and without utensils. I asked for both. The server, not the ladies who had been helping me, who brought out our orders seemed put out by my requests. The salad is filling but in my opinion overpriced. It comes with spiced pecans, cheddar and bacon. Maybe the higher price is the bacon? The only reason I ordered this was because I had one of their birthday gift certificates (one free entree up to $15). A nice plus, the little roll on the side was really good with this salad. Houlihan's does offer many different choices including gluten free and vegetarian. It's definitely a great place for groups because of the many selections.

It's a dangerous thing when your first visit somewhere is perfect. Houlihan's is one of my favorite restaurants (large chain or otherwise), but I'd been partial to the one on 95th. This one has quickly usurped it. I was expecting average, but received amazing. This was a personal treat to myself, and I hope, a deserved one. Despite a wait that was too long at the host stand upon arrival (despite eye contact from 3 or 4 servers, a bartender, and others who were standing near the kitchen chatting), from the moment I was seated, I was treated like a princess, and at 1:30 in the afternoon. I was far from the only person there, but it was past the probably packed lunch hour. Christina was just amazing. For today at least, I think she should be the model for all servers everywhere. She anticipated my every need; she was just the right amount of delightful.....seriously, today she had a 'perfect' waitressing day, at least at my table. My water was never empty. She went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied, and to top it off, my meal was also almost perfect. The rolls were OOOOOH so good. My meal was hot and cooked perfectly. Christina timed my entire meal experience perfectly, and I felt like a welcomed guest in her home. I'll be back again, hoping for a repeat of this experience, or at the least, something reasonably close. In the meantime, 5 stars it is. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Christina and Houlihan's.

This was absolutely terrible. I've been to the 95th street and Town Center location; both were fantastic. The fairway location on the other hand was god awful. The place was empty, yet we got our apps before our drinks. I had to fill my table of 8's waters and a person at our table had an eyelash in his food. The waitress was very smug and pretty much all phases of the meal were disappointing. Don't even get me started on the Long Island pitchers. Do you like sweet and sour mix? Because that's all they were. We then waited another ten minutes to replace the pitcher with beers after we sucked it down as fast as we could just to get it over with. The entire establishment is outrageous based on the crap we were served. The French dip was disgusting and I am surprised it even fit on the table since they left all the dirty app, soup and salad dishes when they dropped off the entrees. The GM should be ashamed at the crap he is serving and the place he is responsible for. I would give this zero stars if possible.

Drinks ONLY! Went out with a friend for some late drinks. I arrived just after nine (which is when their happy hour closes) and ordered a martini with elderberry and champagne which was yummy but I liked their version of a flirtini/cosmo bit better. It had grapes in it, rather than olives. My first elderberry one had a strawberry in it. Both were incredibly smooth and alrighty priced ($8.50) given a martini and how expensive they could be at other places.

Great atmosphere and AWESOME customer service! Apparently the Thai wings are "to die for", although I have yet to have the opportunity to taste these little delightful and delectable wingettes- they were all out by 9p. A friend and I were there one night and our waiter brought to our attention that we'd waited longer than 30 minutes on appetizers- to which we hadn't noticed as we were busy enjoying our tasty margaritas and catching up on recent events. After enjoying our appetizers and receiving our bill, he told us that we had been comped due to our wait. We hadn't asked nor had we expressed any concern in the wait, but needless to say, this was a reminder of what AWESOME customer service is. Luv this place and plan to go back again and again and again.

2nd visit within a month to the fairway ks location, not impressed by the food. Yes, it is a classy older mature crowd, yet snootey. One would assume with the fairway community, the food would be consistant with the other houlihan's locations and it bit better with food. One time my wife and I went in around 5:30pm on a weeknight and the other time much later 9:00ish pm on a Saturday night. Both dishes, one the app chicken nacho's were underdone, and the melted cheese tasted metallic, while the chicken(bits) tasted gross as well. My wife got the famous signature dish, the heartland salad. Hardly any greens, or other ingredients. Skimpy portions, plus the plate had finger marks around the salad bowl.,,not the "normal" houlihan's experience.

Their racist staff made fools of my wife and I, both dark skinned, refusing to seat us and screaming at us from halfway across the restaurant. We were simply trying to get a cocktail, our first...and definitely last visit. Unless you're white, I would not suggest this place

My wife have and I have a couple of things in common after eating at Houlihan's today. Vomiting and diarrhea. We shared food now share symptoms. Thanks Houlihan's! Also I don't think they have ever cleaned the floors there's a nice slick finish of grease / slop juice coating the walk ways. Everybody makes mistakes I'm sure they didn't knowingly serve chicken with a side of bacteria but clean the floor for Christ sake. You can certainly control that. If floor isn't clean why would the food be. This review was written on the toilet at 6:00am after a night of no sleep. This is also the only bad review I have ever written...it's helped me keep my mind off the never ending stomach cramps for 2 min Ps if you don't believe me about the floor I challenge you to walk back towards the bathroom by the kitchen and see if you can't glide 3 feet. You just did didn't you....told ya

Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I hate to even make this review but what is the hype about Houlihans?! My boss suggested the place for lunch so I was excited considering I'd never been. We ordered off the Noon menu (Lunch) an all the menu items honestly sounded droolingly delictable. I finally decided on the Heartland Grilled Chicken Salad an it came with my choice of a soup. I chose chicken tortilla soup. Walking into Houlihans.. stunning, beautiful, cool, the place I'd want to be on a Friday night or during happy hour with my girlfriends! Maybe it's because I simply ordered a salad an soup. For $12 it better be pretty damn good. Well, it was good.. but it wasn't extradorniary! I thought somebody was playing a joke on me when I opened up the bag found one box containing my salad and 3 plastic constainers. The plastic container that consisted of my grilled chicken was literally 3 small strips of grilled chicken. Ok, fine.. not the biggest meat eater anyway but what did I pay $12 for? The spicy pecans on my salad which by the way is a nice gesture to a salad. The salad/ingredients were spot on - along with the Caesar dressing which went perfect with the veggies. I was just really peeved about the chicken.. why even put it in a giant plastic container? I didn't understand. So moving on to the chicken tortilla soup... honestly, chicken broth & rotel. Literally, oh an another plastic container filled with tortilla strips which I used an eh okay... I could have bought the same quality oat my place of employment quite honestly. I really hate to write this & it pains me because I know just from friends/co workers that this establishment has such a better reputation. Again, maybe it's because I ordered a salad an it's not the best thing on the menu.. yet their menu features MANY salad entrees. Soooooooo confused. The right amount of ingredients, and well the soup.. it was helpless.. toss it & start over on the batch. Trust me.. this experience is NOT gonig to turn me away. I will try it again & I really hope it's a better turn out.

Always consistent and yummy! I like their house salad and add grilled chicken. Their blue cheese dressing is good as well. Chunky and thick. If you come here during lunch, they get the food out to you fast. If you are interested in happy hour. This is a good place for that as well!

Living about a block from this location, I've eaten there probably 30+ times. If you go in and dine, your experience will likely be fine, but i do not suggest getting carryout. Knowing the quality goes out the window with carryout, i figured I would go with something simple they couldn't possibly screw up....... chicken Tenders. No exaggeration, probably the worst meal I've ever gotten from a "Restaurant". Tenders were cold and rubbery and I'm almost certain the meat wasn't fully cooked. After 2 bites, I was legitimately scared i was going to get ill. Broke open the rest of the tenders and they were all the same, barely cooked. I worked in a kitchen, there isn't a single thing easier to make. So convenient for me to go there, but I"M DONE!!!

I went in with a group of 15 and they had no idea how to handle a group even though it was after 9 at night. The waiter was inconvenienced by having a group. Service was unbelievably slow. Happy hour is only good at the bar. Do not recommend.

A neighborhood favorite in a great location. A regular stop with a dependable menu. Great looking restaurant and a very convenient place for lunch, especially since lunch service is always prompt so you can meet someone for a good meal and not worry about slow service throwing off your schedule. Only complaint is that they often feel the need to "improve" some of the classics, the improvement is rarely better than the original and I wish they would just do every dish in a classic style without "improving" them.

After so many years passing by this place I finally decided to try it after looking at their menu and finding out that they had fish tacos which I had not had in forever. The parking lot was easy to find a spot for dinner time, we were seated promptly and instantly I noticed the noise level, this is a loud place, especially with the high ceilings. It took at least 10 minutes for our server to take our drink orders which is a tad long but I survived. The fish tacos also took a long time to come out but at least the food was the right temperature when I took a bite. The flavors of these tacos was not what I expected for this dish. Yes it had flour tortillas, but it had too much cabbage, not enough fish which was delicious, and not enough sauce. I also received chips and salsa which after paying $11 for this plate with 2 tacos seemed a little stingy and overkill with all the tortillas. Get rid of the chips, less cabbage, more sauce, add another taco and some rice and it would have made a better dish. The place has a nice upscale feel but it seems the draw here is for the drinkers who come for the happy hour, the food probably is acceptable by the time you've had a few but for dinner alone I don't think I'd return.
