Pretty good authentic Mexican food. Service has always been fast and courteous. The food is definitely much better than any other Mexican food offerings in the area.

I had the one dollar Tomales which is there special on Mondays. The corn meal was moist and the meat had good flavor. The portion of the food was excellent I had 2 Tomales and the tank is full. Staffing here is really nice I would have to say it has to do with the new management. The chips and salsa was alright. The chips were homade along with the salsa. I would have gave this restaurant 5 stars if the salsa tasted a little different. For the value and the taste of the food this place can't be beat.

Had potential-not well executed. Food was good when they first opened/service was not. Went back recently-very disappointed. Run by unqualified teenagers. Kids hanging out in restaurant distracting workers. Took way too long to get food to table. Lacks professionalism. Food was not as good. Service was horrible. Needs consistency & adults running the restaurant, otherwise they will not be successful. I hope they can turn this mess around.

Nina's is a very basic atmosphere. It has a small dining are seating approximately 16. One gentleman waits the tables, cleans, and does the checks so patience is sometimes needed but it never takes a long time. They have two cooks who do a great job seasoning the food and cook food to your order. I also like the fact you can see the food being prepared and cooked. The dining area and kitchen both look clean and well maintained. Remember the dining area is staffed by one man. The food came out extremely hot and well seasoned. I have been here twice thus far and enjoyed the main courses. The only complaint I would have is the salsa. The chips are made fresh and served hot-awesome! However, the salsa seemed to be lacking in flavor. It is a smooth salsa that ultimately has lots of room for some flavor enhancements to bring it to the next level. They also serve a green jalapeno sauce that is plenty hot! I'm a fan of it because of the temperature and it has ok flavor. I have had the tomales (Monday special$1) and a chicken burrito (Friday special $3). The tomales are amazing and only one dollar! Enough said. The burrito had beans, pico, rice, and choice of meat. This was a Chipotle sized burrito and it hit the spot. Could not have been happier. After speaking with the guy in front he told me that they have been working on the flavor of their Fajitas before putting them on the menu. They will be made available as of 9-15-14 and offering chicken, steak, shrimp and a combination fajita. I'm really excited to try these as the flavors of the other foods have been great. Give this place a try! It is the essence of a simple dining experience. The food is priced right and the flavor was to match. I'm looking forward to fajitas soon!

I visited this place once when it first opened, and more recently after the owners (from what I was told by staff) left it to new management. The inside was also remodeled/redecorated. The first time I went there, I was excited to see authentic tacos (asada, carnitas, etc) served with onion and cilantro. I also ordered a tamale. They were so delicious! I ordered a few other items on the menu that were more of the "Tex-Mex" variety. A taco. Nachos (chips with nacho cheese and jalapeño slices). They were ok. At this time it appeared that a family was caring for the place. A few kids ran around but also were eating dinner once they sat down long enough to do so. Upon my most recent visit, the inside was repainted and had prettier decor. The waitress/hostess was extremely polite and courteous. Definitely upgraded from the last time I had been there. I ordered my faves... 1 tamale, 1 carne asada taco, 1 pastor taco. It was all amazing and came with chips and salsa even though my order was "to-go". It's not large, it's not over the top, but it def has charm in its own way... and great food if you know what to order!

I was excited about this new restaurant. In an article they claimed to be an "authentic" Mexican food restaurant. I disagree. I ordered the "roll tacos" as the menu calls them. They were the chicken kind. Either they were bought in bulk from a grocery store and simply fried and given to me, or they were somehow made to taste like that's exactly what had happened. The chicken inside was more like a squishy chicken solution (that tastes exactly like the frozen El Monterey brand taquitos you can buy at Hen House or Price Chopper). It absolutely did not taste fresh or authentic. Too bad. It's not that hard to make rolled tacos from scratch.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
