Chicken fried steak. The best Really nice seating next the taxi way and runway Food is always top rate. The last 2 trips (last 2 weeks) the service is really below what i would consider below standard

The food was good, the atmosphere was amazing. This is built into an old aircraft hanger and you get to see airplanes all meal long. It's a unique place that affords nothing like iv'e had before. The food was really good, but everything seems to be greasy. The menu is limited, which is fine, but I feel with a menu this limited they should absolutely own everything on it. They seem to be just ever short of perfection.

Visiting my in laws they wanted to take us to this airfield restaurant in the plains. First thing we saw when we arrived was a plane taking off, apparently you can fly in eat and fly out. Cool restaurant with typical American food, burgers and salads and wraps and appetizers and a good beer selection. Oh and the biggest fan I have ever seen. Burger was good and the fries too. But the star is the view. This place is a winner and a must visit.

Been there a couple of times; and enjoyed it both. The bloody Marys were one of the best. The breakfast buffet was ok. It wasn't as warm bc of the constant opening and closing the warmers. Not their fault at all. But the burgers were delish. The scenic views of small prop jets coming and going compliments the atmosphere very well.

What a fun place! We sat on the patio, which is inside but has very large garage doors which roll up. The patio looks out onto the runway, which is very close to the building. The architecturally appealing control tower, with its beautiful glass block treatment is right next door. The decor is fun and intriguing. I had a delicious, juicy cheeseburger, good fries, and a margarita. There's a playground right off the patio for the kids, and a stage, which looked to be set up for live music later tonight. The staff was attentive and efficient. Looking forward to going back!

Come here for the unique dining experience, not the food. This restaurant is located in an aircraft hangar at the end of a tiny airport that serves small aircraft, so you get to watch planes while you dine. Half of the restaurant is inside, and the other part has large garage doors that open to the outside, so when the weather is nice it is like you are eating outside. The food was forgettable (I vaguely recall having a grilled chicken sandwich at dinner and the yucky buffet at breakfast), but the experience was cool. Airline enthusiasts would love the place because it is decorated with aircraft memorabilia and you get to see all the small planes up close. There were people of all ages there and it's really super crowded. They have a small area for the kids with playground equipment. They have a pretty good selection of beers. Makes for an enjoyable outing.

I had lunch here during the week. The service was very friendly and fast. Love the atmosphere in its unique that you can sit outside and watch planes land and take off. I ordered the Spinach walnut salad (with grilled chicken). It was delicious!

Always a blast! Great food, great sights and fun people watching! A great "go-to" location for a short motorcycle ride or a fun place to take the kiddos.

What an amazing experience. Food is good, service is good, but what a fun place to be. Everyone in the community seems to migrate there. Everyone is friendly and I have met some great people there. One of the locals gave my two young kids (ages 6 & 8) their first flight in his Cessna.

Great atmosphere, nice staff, good food! This is my 4th visit and I must say they keep getting better every visit! I heard an ownership change had happened and it seems they are making the right adjustments to make this a great destination to watch planes and enjoy good food and drinks. They also feature live music from time to time.

A great place for aviation enthusiasts to enjoy a simple meal, just a few miles outside the Air Capital! I usually have a club sandwich or a Reuben and come on Saturday evenings. If you get there around 6, getting a table is not as much of a problem. After 7, it can be a challenge. The atmosphere is great for aviation enthusiasts, with several model airplanes hanging from the ceiling and a great view of the runway, where you can watch planes land and take off. Sometimes they fly a little low when coming in, so don't be startled when you drive into the place.

Great atmosphere makes it worth the short drive from Wichita. On a Friday night, we sat in the patio area and watched planes come and go while skydivers landed in the field next to the runway. We ordered the fried pickles, philly cheesesteak, and chicken fried steak. The only thing I would suggest is not paying the upcharge for the regular fries, stick with the Art and Mary's chips. The service was friendly though a bit slow, but to be expected for a busy Friday night with several large groups in attendance.

Stearman Grill is really a great weekend evening destination. It's a beautiful setting, and the grilled foods they specialize in add to the "best backyard cookout ever" vibe. Gotta say, though, it's the only thing around for miles, and it can get really, really crowded on summer weekend nights. And they don't run people off their tables, nor do they tell you while waiting that you're still sixth in line after a 90-minute wait. So check ahead, maybe, if it's a Saturday night and the weather's alright, because there will be many others with the same great idea.

We had a very good time Saturday evening and found the full experience very good. We arrived around 6:30 p. m. and found the place full with a short waiting line so when we were offered to sit at the bar we agreed. The service at the bar was good and there was plenty of activity to keep us occupied while waiting on the food. My hamburger was good and nicely sized. It came with chips which were nothing special but I did not go for the fries (an extra charge). My wile had shrimp and fries and she found them good. The atmosphere was what one would dream about for a country cafe next to an airport. Plenty of people arriving by plane, taxiing to the cafe and going in to eat. The two bi-planes that came and went drew a crowd by themselves. Consider this just a fun place to eat and be entertained on a Saturday evening.

It's at the end of the runway and it's got a great big patio and food and beer. What the hell else could you want? Honestly though, I was at Stearman Field for some training with Herb and after my checkride I needed a stiff drink. This place has a surprising beer selection as well as all your standard bar fare. The wait staff is all very friendly and the place is immaculate. Honestly I wasn't expecting to be able to get drunk at the airport in Kansas but this was a pleasant refutation to that notion!

Great burgers, fun atmosphere--poor service. In party of 9, 4 of the orders were wrong. Waited long time.

This is a fun casual place tucked away in a hangar at Stearman Field/Benton Air Park, a cool little airport in Benton, KS. As you approach from the road, you really would never know there was a busy little bar & grill inside. It is, of course, airplane themed and they have a simple menu, burgers, steaks, bar food and breakfast. Even a few things for the kiddies. I have tried the burgers and the steak. Their beef is excellent. Sides are pretty basic. (I can overlook the canned green beans for the great steak.) Have only been at dinner time. I believe they recently got their liquor license. They have several flat screen TVs tuned to sports and airplane movies and shows. I will be back to have more steak and maybe, if I ever get up early enough on a weekend, I'll check out the breakfast. I give this place 4 stars for a good combo of fun atmosphere and great steak. I'd like to see them improve on some little things like the quality of buns and cheese on the burgers, but I can let those things slide for the tasty steak and overall fun of going to a unique out-of-the-way place.

This place is great. We were on our way in to Wichita when we remembered this place I saw when driving around. We called they were open so we whipped a u turn. We had one of the best meals and experiences we have had in while. The food is priced well and the service was great! While we were waiting for our food there was plenty to cool things look at on the wall. This is truly a gem. Thanks everyone there for a great experience. I recommend the burger its fantastic.
